You can tell within five minutes whether a fighter is performing for the camera or telling you exactly who he is. Matthew Nore, the undefeated super middleweight prospect known as The Real Problem Child, is telling us exactly who he is. We bring him on to talk about growing up in Newburgh, New York, repping the 845, and how that environment built the chip on his shoulder that still shows up every time the gloves go on.

We get specific about the moments that shaped him: school fights, a short fuse, getting put on medication as a kid, and the slow shift from trouble to training. Then we dig into the clips that made him blow up online, like snapping punches that knock stacked tires off their base and blasting a bucket of rocks because the gym demands it. If you’re into boxing strength and conditioning, fight mentality, and what “hard work” actually looks like day to day, this conversation puts real context behind the viral footage.

From there it turns into pure boxing talk: amateur knockouts in headgear, the brutal reality of cutting weight, and why three pounds can change everything. Nore breaks down sparring in Georgia, why good work can be hard to find, and what happens when someone asks for rounds and then wants you to ease up mid-session. We also talk career direction, being a free agent, staying ready for short-notice opportunities, and the dream test he keeps coming back to: sharing a ring with David Benavidez.

SPEAKER_04

Yo, what up, what up, what up? Welcome to the Star In Boxing Podcast. Puma and Willie with a special guest.

SPEAKER_03

Special guest here, man.

SPEAKER_04

Very special guest. As usual, we had some technical difficulties. Matthew Nord, the real problem child. What up, man? What up, man? Man, chilling. What's going on?

SPEAKER_03

Man, let me tell y'all right now, he's a cool dude, man. Wait here patiently, but I was saying I know.

SPEAKER_04

I see his fights, his highlights, his training methods, and I'm like, oh, this guy's gonna punch me through the damn screen with all my technical difficulties. But here he is, man, waited. Real good dude. What's going on? Where are you, man? You're in Georgia?

SPEAKER_00

Right now, chilling. Uh I just got out the uh lifetime gym. So I'll just prepare to get the interview with y'all. Shop it up. Okay.

845 Roots And Newburgh Pride

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we appreciate it, man. We appreciate it. Uh so with me and you, we actually we have something in common. We're both from the 845.

SPEAKER_03

Uh I why don't you tell that's that area code?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, shut up, man. Yo, you hear him? You hear him?

SPEAKER_03

That's a nasty area code. 845.

SPEAKER_04

Yo, yo, tell tell Willie about the 845 and where you're from.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, please let me know about the 845.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, there's dangers out there, man. Obama had to say people out there because of us, man.

SPEAKER_04

Yo, so so I get it all the time. I'm originally from upstate New York, from Kingston, Newburgh's rival. And Willie over here always makes fun of me, but you from the Sticksy, blah blah blah. It wasn't hood up there. I was like, bro, you have no idea.

SPEAKER_03

I didn't say all that. Yeah, you did. I didn't say that. I don't know. They don't claim y'all as New York sometimes, upstate like that. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_00

I I don't know why people don't be thinking that, because like you gotta think a lot of people that from Brooklyn and Bronx, they be in the A45. That's that's they gotta go to Poughkeepsie, you gotta go all the you gotta you gotta go over there. Poughkeepsie, Newburgh, you gotta go to Beacon, you gotta go. You have to. Hutch and Rivers over there.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. So also our sports teams are really good. Our basketball teams in particular, like I know Newburgh and Kingston are great rivals. And uh oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Did you you play sports growing up?

SPEAKER_00

Other than boxing, you played running back for the uh playing football for the New York.

SPEAKER_03

So you played how you know you were running, yo, your whole your whole fighting style is running back ish, like Olivia and Bell. So solid, bro. 5'8, you got the perfect running back size.

SPEAKER_04

Like he called you LeVeon Bell, bro.

SPEAKER_00

It's cool now. Yeah, I play running back. I played for Newburgh Steelers, and then I I went to NFA for a little bit and I left. You know what I mean? I came out, came down down here, down south.

SPEAKER_04

So uh do you have another light in the car? Are you in the car? I don't know. Yeah, if you could yeah, that that's better, I think. Um I don't know if it's a good light, but yeah, whatever. Yeah, it's a little choppy, but we'll we'll figure it out. I'll I'll mess with it when we're done. Um, so Newburgh Free Academy and Kingston football, man. It's like and basketball is a crazy rivalry. Like I remember, and now I'm obviously a little older, but I remember it was uh they'd clear out the gyms, fans weren't allowed, the fights after the games were crazy. Right? Like my little white ass would be sitting there eating pizza with my friends, watching dudes beat the shit out of each other. It was crazy. I'm like, man, this is this is nuts. But this year, I think our basketball team did take it, and uh we we beat Newberg, so that's good.

SPEAKER_00

But I look, I know y'all beat us, but I'm give y'all it's still the 845 at the end of the day, so everybody won it.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, I love it. You are officially my favorite 168 pack. Everybody won it, man. So so let's get back to boxing.

SPEAKER_00

Nah, the fights used to be crazy after before the games and after the game.

SPEAKER_04

It was insane, dude. It was insane, and you wouldn't think because you're like, you are, you know, we're upstate, you know, and and the towns, Newburgh and Kingston, are a lot alike, they look alike. The towns look just like with the old houses, the really old historical houses.

SPEAKER_00

And it's how you that just still the same, too. Uh when I went back to see my pops, his graveyard site, and I went over that like, damn, breath is still at the same.

SPEAKER_04

Yo, never changes, never ever changes.

Rivalries And Football Toughness

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, nothing changes.

SPEAKER_04

So uh now we're out on Long Island, but and uh you're out in Georgia. So what what was the first of all, what was boxing like in Newburgh coming up? Like, so I know we used to spar you guys back in the day, but uh it was it was good coming up over there.

SPEAKER_00

Like me, for me, I was always fighting all the time, so no mean. I got put in boxing for my because of my aunt and my cousin Marquise. So fighting with was I'm pretty sure you heard of heard of him. Who Marquise Williams?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, yeah. He he was uh uh he was one of the uh I think he won. Did he win Golden Gloves? Or he won back then, I think it was Golden Gloves, or yeah, yeah. So I think he used I was at this place called Demeris Boxing. It might have been they might have been gone when you when you started, but it was we used to bring dudes from Newburgh and we would go like upstate, you would just go everywhere and spar. You know how Long Island you pretty much stay on Long Island, everyone spars. Upstate you go to different towns. Sometimes you go to like Rondout, like deep upstate, the cat skills. Everyone was spar. Yeah, and uh Newburg does have a lot of athletic youth, though. And I'm sure that's what where you, especially you know, in boxing kids that get in trouble are always in the gym.

SPEAKER_00

So always we was always fighting over there in the in over there, like it was just not we go up on a fight inside of town, like after school fighting, we fighting in school at the lunch. We fighting at lunch, and and and and I was telling everybody down south. I say, Y'all got it good, cuz over there up north, we was fighting all the time, every day. Like it was like it was bad. Like they were we gonna if you get in fight, we you're gonna go to jail. Down here, you fight down here, they'll send you to jail.

SPEAKER_03

Damn.

SPEAKER_04

A lot of things too, like a lot of things too. Like upstate, people don't realize the the local police departments are it's very small, so everybody knows everybody, you know what I mean? So that you get a lot of like second, third, fourth chances. So you talk about the fighting, like you'd beat the hell out of somebody, I'm sure they'd be like, Oh no, I know him. He's he's the running back. He's you know what I mean. Like it's it's so small. Like, where I'm sure in Georgia that it's more populated, they're like, No, I don't know you, you're coming with me, bro.

SPEAKER_00

Like, yeah, uh our if like so say if you were fighting on the street corner up here in Georgia, like the police see you. Oh, yeah, they're taking you to jail in Newburgh, how it was over there in 845 Kingston, whatever Poughkeepsie, we fight over there, the police would just look and then they would just keep driving and let them go.

SPEAKER_02

Your kids, man.

SPEAKER_00

So it was like they don't care as long as guns ain't getting pulled and that they fighting, whatever they kept it rolling.

SPEAKER_04

So I'm like, uh, cool, cool. So before before I uh before we we set up this interview, obviously I take notes and I look look up stuff. I googled like Newberg and I was like, Oh, let me see what sports he played or whatever. Like, I Googled all right. Yo, the first thing that came up was like a week ago, some teacher they tried to like kill a teacher, somebody beat up a teacher, and the teacher almost died.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, bro, what the yo what the teachers see the thing is with the teachers down south and up north, the teachers up north be wilding sometimes. So, see, the down south teachers be wilding too, but they know nothing gonna happen to them because people ain't really trying to get locked up, man. They trying to, you know what I'm saying? They're not trying to do that, but up north, we say something fight the teachers.

SPEAKER_04

Have you ever uh back when you were younger, you were not as calm. Did you ever get into it with a teacher? What so many times?

Culture Growing Up Upstate

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I was one of those kids. Problem child, literally. I was one of those kids where um I wasn't the type to do A B C D E F G with you, like I'm not gonna keep talking to you. So you say something disrespectful and I and I look at you, and people used to say my eye used to be twitchy. I said, My eye don't be twitchy, I just be mad.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so I used to be proud up and go fight the teacher. And I used to I used to beat them up and then I'll be offended, and then I'll come back and they'll be like, How you doing? How you welcome back? And I'll be like, you know, doing good, doing good. I used to so many fights. My aunt, my aunt used to pick me up from school, but it's so crazy. My aunt never never really cared when I fought in school. She always cared when I got kicked off the bus. She hated that because then she had to take me to school. She hated it.

SPEAKER_03

Oh wow, that's the same aunt that be blasting your phone now. Yeah, yeah. Okay. It all makes sense now. It all makes sense.

SPEAKER_00

Worry because she know how my temper is. Like, I I don't like I I always grew up like a I was an angry kid growing up, you know what I mean? So like I was always cool to laid back. It's just that when people like I feel like they always thought they could outmuscle me or something like that. So I always gotta look at them, and you you know how it is that Newburgh attitude, and I gotta go there and just beat them up. I was like, wow, I'm gonna beat you up, bro. I was telling you.

SPEAKER_04

Newberg attitude is like a thing, because it's like it's like city attitude, but nah, we're not the city. Like, don't call me like it's I can't explain it. It's like it's different, it's different.

SPEAKER_03

It's like y'all got that little thing going on. I can't believe it. Yeah, 845, baby.

SPEAKER_04

Fuck you.

SPEAKER_00

And we we we want to fight for our how we we would do it just because we want to fight you so bad, we will try to find a way to fight you because people be trying to they'll say they want to fight, but they'll try to find their way out of the fight. Like me, I'll be going, I'll I'll try to pick it. I'll try to pick on you and pick on you, see if you're gonna do something. So let's do it.

SPEAKER_04

And and having your attitude and and being down for it like that, again, you you're five, you're what five's eight, right? Five eight. Yeah, so so you know people are always gonna try the the smaller dude, but I'm sure when they try with you, it was uh it was a whole nother story.

SPEAKER_00

Uh yeah, yeah, it always but last the last time, last time I was in school over there in Newburgh, I was in South Middle School. I'm pretty sure you know that school, South.

SPEAKER_04

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_00

So I was in South. It was a kid, I can't remember his name, but like, I oh I remember Tyler. His name was Tyler. And like he said something to me that he disrespected me. Like, I'm like, oh bro, what's up with you, bro? So I just beat him up and but I see why he was acting like that. It's because there was mad girls watching. So I hate when guys do that.

SPEAKER_03

Hate them type of hate.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so why you gotta when mad girls is around. So so then I was like, bro, I'm gonna beat you up, bro. So I just beat him up, I body slammed him on the ground, sort of pounding him. Like I was like, oh man. And and there's people on my own. If I wish I we went live with my grand, because people would have came over here and tell you, like, they they know they know the story so many times of me fighting. I fought every day. Like every day. The only time I know a day I didn't fight was when I took my medicine back then when I was a kid, and I knew I was calm, so like they were I was getting in no trouble. So I was like, man, I'm quiet.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, so they trying to put you on medicine when you were younger.

Trouble Anger And Medication

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because I was on it, but when it when I took it, it always when I was a kid, it shut me down. Like I was I didn't like being around people. I don't want I don't like being a problem with people when I was a kid. I did it, I hated it. But like they put me on the medicine because it was my anger was too out of control at the time, and then it used to just make me focus in school and do my work. So like I used to I used to do my work and just focus, but then when I don't take it, it was like yeah, yeah, they always try to do that to uh the kids, and man.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, but in that ADHD, fighting a lot like that. I mean, sometimes there's no there's no choice, you know. Like, oh what what do we I don't believe in that medicine? Yeah, this guy takes no medicine, nothing.

SPEAKER_03

I don't take talent on nothing.

SPEAKER_04

Um yo, real quick, if you if are you are you on your uh cellular and your wi-fi? Do you have like both on at the same time?

SPEAKER_00

No, say it again.

SPEAKER_04

Do you have like your cellular service on and your wi-fi at the same time? Yeah, can you turn one off? Probably like the cellular.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I can turn that one off.

SPEAKER_04

That that might uh that might just make it a little better quality and work. It's a little choppy, and again, there's like uh when I go edit it and stuff. So again, folks, we're here with Matthew. You're the the real problem child. You there? Turned it off.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I turned it off. It's the one with the uh at the top, right? On the top of the Wi-Fi one.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. Yeah, turn that one off. Okay. So uh so now you we we talked about where he's from, New Burgate 45, Kingston. Now he's training in Georgia, he's 2-0. Uh he he went his first fight, he went crazy viral on that OTX platform.

SPEAKER_02

Uh that was wild.

SPEAKER_04

Insanely viral. His you also went viral, you go viral every time. It seems like you train. You have some crazy training methods. Where where did those come from? Because I know in in Newburgh they weren't doing that.

SPEAKER_00

So you get me right.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I can hear you.

SPEAKER_00

You guys can hear me, right?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, can you hear us? You know what? Maybe maybe if you turn uh yeah, turn turn wi fi turn the cellular back on and turn Wi-Fi off. It might be better off the Wi-Fi. Can y'all hear me? Yeah, can you hear us? Oh boy. I think we lost him. As usual, we're having technical difficulties, but that is Matthew Nor, the real problem child.

SPEAKER_03

What's going on, man? Look, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, we lost him.

SPEAKER_03

You messing with stuff.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, me, yeah, that wasn't me.

SPEAKER_03

No, you said cut shit off.

SPEAKER_04

Hold on.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe it's back.

SPEAKER_04

Hold on, hold on. I don't know why I did that. You know, you're back.

Ugly Gloves Drill

SPEAKER_00

Yo, and you're yeah, you're crystal clear now. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Now, um but the video saw the time video, that was because of coach. He put us outside with that. He put so he had all of us come outside on some random day. I had my son of suit on at the time, so I'm like, I don't know what the fuck we're about to do outside. I'm thinking we're about to go sprint or run laps. And he's like, Yeah, get some, he said, y'all put on some ugly gloves. Everybody get ugly gloves, so that means we gotta go get like some old raggedy gloves on. So then we put them on. He said, We're gonna hunt all these tires. I'm like, damn, I'm like, we're gonna knock these bitches down.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. So those that those that don't know, they they stacked like four or five tires. I forget what it was. And and like it wasn't like regular like tires, it was like it looked like anyway, those monster truck tires.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like they but they were. That's the funny, but everybody thought they were at first, they thought it was regular tires until until they they seen the like another guy doing it, but some guys were put they wasn't punching it, like me and me and they we was punching them, we was punching that thing. Yo, and you weren't you weren't.

SPEAKER_04

It was crazy when I watched it. You weren't like you know you could punch and push, like you weren't pushing it, you were snapping punches, and that tire was moving, bro. I was like, what the fuck is going on?

SPEAKER_00

Hey, hey man, like it was just yeah, I don't know why it was it was it was a fun day to do. I didn't know that's what we was doing. I did not know coaches had us outside. He said, We're gonna do this, and then me and Nate knocked it off twice. I we knocked it off with just two punches easy. I was like, damn, I'm like, damn, we're knocking this bitch off like like that. I was like, and it was when it was go ahead, go ahead, keep talking. I'm sorry, and but I was watching because it was taking everybody else, taking them like four or five punches to knock it off. Us us two was just knocking that shit off like with ease.

Rocks For Gym Discipline

SPEAKER_04

It was insane. And then did you see? I saw the other video, you were like punching rocks in a bucket. You remember that one?

SPEAKER_03

I didn't see that one.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah. Oh, so boom. Elijah was like, so at the time, I like Elijah got to run class one time. So he was like, Look, if you guys don't hit these bunches, these uh bucket of rocks, everybody's going home, and we're gonna end class right here. So and you know me, like I love the gym so much. Like I gotta be in there. So like I I don't want to go home. I would stay there all night if I have to. So like I was punching that down like I didn't know nobody was recording me until I looked up scene. I was like, Oh, these dudes recorded me, bro.

SPEAKER_03

But they smart for recording.

SPEAKER_04

He was he was literally every trip, like he wasn't just lightly punching the rocks either, like a bucket of rocks, he was pounding rocks in a bucket, man. Like I I hope you're you it's gotta be hard to find like fights at this point in your career because because those videos went so viral, like, yeah, and we're gonna talk about sparring too. So in in the amateurs, right? When you were in the amateurs, and obviously, those that don't know amateurs have headgear on. Yeah, did did you fight at heavyweight? Was it heavyweight?

Amateur KOs Super Heavyweight Runs

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I was fighting that super heavyweight. No, what the yeah, I fought a super heavyweight.

SPEAKER_04

How did that even happen? How is that even like allowed? What I couldn't cut the weight right now.

SPEAKER_00

Like, I couldn't. I was like, man, I'm so big, like I'm gonna just stay right here. So I I just went in there and I was knocking like everybody out in the first round or the second, and then it like bat, and it wasn't just like stoppages, it was they were hitting the ground.

SPEAKER_04

If you go back and look, he was dropping dudes in headgear, and and you know, Willie watches amateur fights a lot. Obviously, out here we have a lot of friends in the amateurs, and like it's very rare you get a knockout in the amateurs, and it's rare as hell.

SPEAKER_03

It's crazy. Ironically, you have fought somebody from Long Island, he fought um Jacob Spence.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, really?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they related to Arrow Spence and them, but they live out here. They well they used to, they moved to Florida, I think. Now, but yeah, that was crazy. I saw that. I'm like, Well, they fought each other. Damn, how what how cool was you?

Brutality Of Cutting Weight

SPEAKER_00

They that gotta be that was that was when I was at once. I went down to 165. The weight cut that was a lot for me to get down there. I ain't gonna lie, cuz I had I couldn't eat, like I couldn't eat food for real at 165. I was not, I was at my strongest. I know I was like weak, weak, and I was like, damn, I'm tired as hell. I'm looking at my boy Max, like he bringing that you know the uh IV drink package that you can put in the water. Yeah, so he's bringing that to the to the to the weigh-ins and drinking it. I'm watching him gargle though, I'm like, damn, bruh. I I want to do that, but I can't because if I do that, I'm not gonna have I'm not gonna be able to, I'm gonna go over my body weight, just goes over. So then I was like, bruh, so I'm weak. So then I went in that fight. I was like, no, bro. I'm just gonna ruin them, it's gonna just destroy. Because the the fight before that, I stopped this dude. I stopped him in I think the third round. And then so, and then I had to go fight him. I I was like, once I get him out, I'm getting I'm gonna get everybody else out. And then I was I was beating him up, like I was getting him up until I just like my energy just went like this. I was like, Yeah, it was just but it's it's the weight, it's the it's what I haven't been 165 since I was 15 years old.

SPEAKER_04

And then that now in the pros, you're at 168. 168, yeah. It's crazy for those that don't know like what three pounds is. Like, people are always like, Oh, it's five pounds. He's moving up one weight class, it's five pounds, whatever. Like, no, no, that that's a big difference, clearly.

Pro At Super Middleweight

SPEAKER_00

No, that's that's that that that should be hurting me, man. Like, like they don't, they don't they don't even know. I've been 165 one time, and then like at the end, that was my first time doing it. Coach is like, man, you think you can make 165? I was like, he's like, nah, how you gonna make 165? Like, how coaches, he be like, You gonna fight out? Uh you think you can make 154? We're gonna go to 154. I'm like, what? I'm like, all right, cool. So I was like, I was like, fuck it, bro. So we gotta make our way down there. This is what it is. I just felt like I didn't cut though, did the weight thing right. And one thing with me, I'm always big on making weight. I don't want to be one of those fighters in the in in the in the pros that's missing weight. You know what I mean? I want to make it. I I wanna make yeah.

SPEAKER_04

That's a great mentality to have because that's the first fight. You know, that's the first fight.

SPEAKER_00

So gotta make it.

SPEAKER_04

Uh so in in the pros now, you're you're two and oh with OTX. Uh, your last fight, you actually you you fought a guy that was a little shorter than you, correct?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. Uh I can't remember his name, but yeah, I fought I fought him. He was shorter. I first he looked it big as hell at the wings. Hell yo. I'm no for real. He looked it taller than me. But then when we got, I think when we got in the ring, I looked big. Like I was just like, I'm like, yo, I'm I'm not processing it. So I'm like, I'm not processing this. Am I processing this right? And I'm like, bro, this man's short. But it was it was just real. I'm like, but he looked tall. Like I was short at the wings. Have you seen the uh picture? I think I still have it. He was tall, and I was like, I was like a little like under his nose. But but when he got in the ring, I guess because it stuck. Is short man style, and I'm short, so I was just like, damn, he's small. All right.

Mindset And Nate Lugo Bond

SPEAKER_04

That's crazy. That was crazy, and that kind of threw you off a little bit because being your side, you've always fighting all yeah, it threw me off. Nissan Anderson. Nissan Anderson. Yeah, that was his name. That was his name.

SPEAKER_03

So do you feel like if somebody is your size, do you feel like you beat everybody your size since you'd be beating up everybody that's bigger than you two?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, my size. I just like I like fighting everybody. I don't care from 150 to 2,000 pounds. I fight anybody, 300 pounds for I don't back down from home. I want to fight everybody. And I made and people, and nobody can say it. This is a lie. I've walked up on people for work for sparring work. I'll I will walk up on you. I'll be like, yo, bro, when am I gonna get that work? And I will look at you and I'll be I'm gonna look and see if you're gonna love me or not. And they'd be like, man, I'm trying to come out.

SPEAKER_03

I'm gonna just be like, you don't take nobody easily in that gym either. Like I just see a sparring thing up there. This guy is way bigger than you.

SPEAKER_04

You just so you're like a fan of the doghouse sparring, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, but I don't take nobody for granted. Like me, I'm trying to kill everybody and break their nose and break their head off. Like, I want to break their jaw. That's how I feel in like my my mind. I'll be I'm an angry kid, so I'm gonna express my anger and know how I've if I gotta break, like all right. So, say for instance, me and Nate was at the um at the bar chilling right time, right? And this is after the gym, you know what I mean? Coach is hungry, got something to eat, you know. He he hungry. So then I was chilling with him. Coach is having a conversation with our camera guy. Uh, Nate is having and me is having a conversation, and his uh his baby mama's having a conversation with the with the bartender lady. So then me and Nate was talking. We was like, yo, bro, when I see you in the ring, bro, I'm gonna hurt you, bro. We were just saying shit to each other like that. But he said, but we was like, I love you. And I told him, I was like, Yo, bro, when I say I'm gonna break your jaw, he said, Rico, I'm gonna fucking fight you, Rico. I'm gonna hurt you. So I was like, bro, I'm gonna hurt you. I was like, I can't wait to hurt you. But that's how we talk. So then I told Coach the next day what happened. He was like, Man, Rico, y'all too ain't right. So I was like, but it was just like that's how I that's how we and him like I think like that. Think about just her.

SPEAKER_04

So Nate, I feel like go ahead. No, no, go ahead, finish. I'm saying, so the people that don't know who Nate is, just it explain to them who Nate is.

SPEAKER_00

Uh Nate Lugo, think six and oh now, six and oh uh has uh most amateur stoppages in amateur history. My teammate, my sparring partner. And like, you know what I'm saying? That's like that's my brother. Like when like I get him when we fight, like me and him get each other when we in there, it's just just think about killing each year. We try to kill each other.

SPEAKER_04

Let's just we want to murder each other, and that's good sparring, I guess, for especially if you both have that mentality. And yeah, cool though. Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. We talk as soon as we get out the room, we get to talking about animated and shit. It'd be weird.

SPEAKER_03

We like so yeah, that yeah, that but yeah, not like uh Keyshon and uh and Shakur, right? Y'all not gonna be we're not fighting each other in the pros or something.

SPEAKER_00

Nah, yeah, that's like yeah, that's my bro. Like, we we went to war so many times. Like, nah, I told him me and him were never fighting the pros. We and he never like like we like me and him just straight fucking we kill each other anyways, we go hurt each other anyways.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, okay. Yeah, I like to hear that.

SPEAKER_04

So so did since you drop dudes in headgear, and I'm not trying to cause beef. You ever dropped Nate?

SPEAKER_00

Nah, me and him, I never dropped Nate in headgear. Nate is always boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, and then me and him pop is just both in the center. We have never none of no. We've heard each other probably probably times that's this times we heard each other, but we've never dropped each other, we've always heard each other.

SPEAKER_04

So that's yeah, and and your coach, this is all in Georgia, right? He tra Nate trains in Georgia now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Is it still Lugo Boxing or did you switch? No, Lugo was Lugo Boxing.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, yo, so so since you um in Georgia, right? You seen um Brian Newman down there now?

GA Training And Sparring Shortages

SPEAKER_00

I've seen Brian Norman. I've never met it's so funny. Uh Brian Norman, I've never met him, but he showed me a love on Instagram. So but I've never met him, but I've seen him, I think, one time, but I it was from far distance. I've never seen him like up close to the point where we could dab each other up. That's the that's the funny part about it. Like he's a Georgia native, you know what I mean? So I'm gonna I'm gonna always show love. He be sparring my teammate Elijah, so okay, okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I figured that y'all be y'all sensing you in Georgia that you know, I don't know how big is the boxing scene in Georgia, but I'm sure y'all seen each other.

SPEAKER_04

But you got you have family in Georgia?

SPEAKER_00

Uh my aunt was in here, Georgia. So my aunt's sister was over here. See, at first, I'm gonna be honest, I didn't want to move here. Like, I didn't know we was moving here to be honest with you, until like we started driving. They were like, Yeah, we're going to Georgia. I was like, What?

SPEAKER_04

What?

SPEAKER_00

They threw it on you like that? Yeah, like I'm like, bro. So I packed my stuff up. I was like, all right, and then it was like halfway in, we're going to Georgia. I said, why are we going to GA for? I don't want to go over there. Yeah. I don't want to go over there. Like, I don't want I know I heard about the they be arresting people and stuff. I don't want to go over there. Like it was just, I wasn't jacking it, man. I wasn't jacking that. But that's that's home to you now, right? You good? Yeah, it's it's for right now, yeah. It's home to me right now. Like, I'm not I'm talking about my my my my my gym team. I'm talking about Georgia. Yeah, Georgia is a little suspect sometimes, man. Like it's like what do you mean? Explain when it comes to getting sparring out here, like people be ducking, man. Like it's it's it's so annoying, and then that me and Nate gotta always spar each other and we know each other's style so much. Yeah, you're not learning, you're just yeah, we're not, yeah. So we it's be me, Nate, and Elijah, and then probably oh, and uh but Brandon Glanton Bulletproof, you know what we just fought on the zoo.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. So I was gonna ask you about him later on, but uh so you you have a rotation with glanton too, though. He's in the rotation, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

He's in our rotation.

SPEAKER_04

Yo, no wonder his chin. If I would have known, if I would have known he's sparring you, punching rocks and shit, and and tires off tires and whatever, we don't even whatever else you're doing over there. If I would have known he's sparring you with that chin, I I would have bet the distance on that with that die up a tire fight, man. Yeah, yo, his nickname is real, man.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, no, no. Brandon ain't getting a you ain't you ain't knocking him out, man. Yeah, Brandon's strong as fuck. Like he and and it's so funny, everybody thinks he can't box. Yes, he he his his ring IQ is so smart. Uh when Brandon Glenn and see, like he got like a I so say if he sees he got you hurt, but you don't know. I mean, you you know you're hurt, right? You know you're hurt, but he seen with that uh a certain part of your body part got hurt, he's gonna target that. So say I remember one time we were sparring, and then I hurt my shoulder and sparring. He just kept he wanted to hit my shoulder, and he wanted to hit it, kept hitting it, and kept hitting it. So like I was like, all right, but so I was like, so I did the same thing to him. I just kept targeting his shoulder so he could drop his hands, target and target. He's he's smart as hell when it comes to try to hurt you. Because like a man like that, like you like don't get me gen, J Opatia is one, he's a he's one of he's a he's a he's the best in the world right now because he's number one at Cooza weight. I gotta give it to him. I I have beg to differ that right now, you know what I mean.

SPEAKER_04

I feel like somebody else is better than him, but here you know I think I think I know I heard through uh our friend Lorenzo, you're a big uh Benavidez guy, right?

SPEAKER_00

Hell yeah, that's right. Hell yeah, and I'm a and and it's so crazy. I'm a I'm a Brandon Glanton guy, too. I'm not even gonna lie to you. Of course, of course.

SPEAKER_04

He's on your team, you gotta be.

Costs And Chasing Good Work

SPEAKER_00

So he's like, no, but he's I'm talking about my favorite fighters, like he's one, he's in there, he's top five in there for sure. Now, I've not of all the time, I'm talking about right now. Yeah, current fighters, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, so who who do you emulate your because you have like a your style to me is kind of because of your size, is like kind of like a a Rocky Marciano type where the the power and and you're just all about the power. Obviously, he was like a little more tight with his his punches and didn't have like you have more drive, you know what I mean? Like you when you go in there, you can tell you're nah kill, seek and destroy. Who do you who did you learn that from? Like, did did you copy anybody growing up, or is it just you?

Vegas Sparring And Top Rank Chaos

SPEAKER_00

Uh that's just my mentality. I can't really like that's just me all day, every day. Even when I was young. See, I did watch my cousin Marquise all the time, you know what I'm saying? I watch videos on him, how he was, he was aggressive. But and then I get in the ring, and then everybody see, yo, who your cousin is? And they be like, oh, same style, same style, same same style. I'm like, yo, y'all too aggressive. It's just that's just my mentality, is always seeking destroy. I once I don't know what it is, but when I get in the ring, I just forget about boxing. Like boxing is yeah, it's cool, but sometimes you gotta box. You gotta be smart, you gotta box. As much as I don't want to do it, I have to do it. Sometimes you gotta do things that that you don't want to do. I mean, I rather fight and bra. A lot of folks don't want to do that because they don't want to get in that type of war. Yeah, but that but me, I my style. I I could say if I had to pick a style that was similar to mine, I have three people that I match with. Uh I'm gonna say Joe Fraser.

SPEAKER_03

Yo, I was gonna say Joe Fraser, but you was talking, that's crazy.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Joe Frazier, Mike Tyson, and David Benavidez.

SPEAKER_03

I was saying two of those, bro.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I'm gonna and I'ma say another one too. He's smaller, but Pitbull Cruise.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I feel like your defense is like Pitbull Cruise's defense is just to take shots, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, and he can take them. I mean, I'll give him that. He got a Brandon Glanton chin, too.

SPEAKER_00

So, yeah, for sure. He's knocking him out either.

SPEAKER_03

Nah, two people broke their hands on his dome. Yeah, it's crazy.

SPEAKER_04

And you mentioned you mentioned before that I was gonna when we were talking about the tire stuff, like your shoulders, man. That your shoulders are good.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, my shoulders are always good. I'm always good. Only time I had a problem with my shoulders that one time when I uh you know when you're when you're fighting a sparring you you'll swing your arm the wrong way. I swam my arm the wrong way, and then Brandon just kept targeting that shit at one time. But other than that, nah, my they always good. My hands is good. It's so funny. When I was a kid, I used to punch rocks and bro. I used to punch bricks when I used to get mad. I that's when I was young. I get away from me, man. Get away from me. I wasn't thinking, but that's when I was I wasn't thinking. That's that's when I had issues. My aunt used to tell me that when I had issues, I used to do stuff like that, man. Then they was they would go and call my aunt. So they're gonna call my aunt all the time. So she gotta be coming out there and she's gonna know it.

SPEAKER_04

Uh punching bricks. And I'm gonna we gotta quote that. Uh yeah, you know, I was punching bricks as a kid and said it so casually. I was like, oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

I gotta be honest with myself. I'm if y'all want to know everything, I gotta tell y'all the truth.

SPEAKER_04

So no, no wonder you guys beat the shit out of us for that many years in Kingston, man. What the fuck? I don't think we're punching bricks in Kingston, man.

SPEAKER_00

Oh speaking uh when we played Kingston for football, yeah. All right, so I was the running back. As Burns said, I was running, I was running the ball, and then like my headgear, like the uh the I had I had a big ass football helmet on my head, yeah, and it popped off my head when I was running with the football. Um my team running. Yeah, so look, I continue to run, but even though it popped off, because you know the ball is still in play, they're not gonna stop it. Yeah, so so then there was a dude coming for uh towards me, and I told I told my boy Jacob this story all the time. I took my face, I was like, boom, and then I dropped the one just my face, and but I had mad blood coming down my face, but I yeah, I didn't care though. I just took my head and hit his his face mask, and then I had but I had mad blood coming down my face. I was just it was crazy. That was I will always remember that. I still got the trophy in my house to this day. I would never forget that. I would never forget that.

SPEAKER_04

I was truck sticking those trucks. What was that? Deep stadium, man.

SPEAKER_00

Uh where would he be played? Yeah, it was in Kingston. It was in Kingston. So it had to be Deep Stadium, man. Damn.

SPEAKER_03

That's insane.

SPEAKER_04

I'm glad I didn't play football around then.

SPEAKER_00

But here's the funny part. I was playing, I was playing my cousin Markel. I was playing next to him. I was playing right next, and Markel was like, he was five. He liked Markel's tall, like he's super tall. He likes uh six foot six, six foot five. Like he tall though. So like everybody else was like small. I was I think I was probably like the fourth shortest on the team. But like, like he Markel was one of them football players, he was a running back too, but he played wide receiver as well. But he could run the ball, and he was so long and tall, he could just leap people. He used to leap them. Markel used to like like it was man. I'm missing these. Yeah, listen.

SPEAKER_04

You get old quick, right?

SPEAKER_02

Is it taking them back?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, but now look at you, man. You you're literally knocking dudes out, going super viral on the on the main stage. And speaking of super viral, your your nickname or your you know, your your name is the real problem child. Yeah. Has the most viral person of our era reached out to you? The other problem child.

SPEAKER_00

Hey man, there's only there's only one, man. I ain't gonna say two. I had that name before him. I so like it was it's so funny because I this man used to be on Disney Channel. I'm not gonna diss him, you know. I don't got no issue tourism, but if he ever fought me, I'm gonna hurt, I'll beat him up. I'll beat him up bad.

SPEAKER_04

Has anyone ever reached out to you though? Because like he's around your weight. I know he moved up or whatever to do that heavyweight shit, but uh no, you know, everybody used to be cut just commenting.

SPEAKER_00

You're not the problem, child. Jake Paul is. I'll be like, bruh, yeah, all right. That probably helped you though.

SPEAKER_04

Then they comment that and then he goes viral for his game, you know. Like, think about it.

SPEAKER_00

But it'd be like fake accounts, though. Like, I but I know, but you know, if it's fake accounts, is it's like people that you know that's hating on you and they be dapping you up. That's why I don't be dabbing folks up.

SPEAKER_04

Oh but yeah, you're you're you're right. I was just curious because you know, you you're uh you are the real problem child, and your game speaks for it. While this guy is the self-proclaimed problem child, and he is a he's a problem, he annoys everybody. But I was curious if anyone ever like reached out to you, like, oh yeah, let's set this up. And again, I I've seen his competition, and I don't think he's touching you. He's not no, no, no.

SPEAKER_00

Look, and and Anthony Joshua just carried him that fight, too. He could have been stopped a long time ago. I just Anthony Josh just wanted to make a show and just have fun.

SPEAKER_04

That's why and you know, you know, too, in in that fight, the Anthony Joshua Jake Paul fight, we're talking about when you just like you, we've all sparred people. I'm sure you have too, with like, oh, just do defense, just work on defense, and your defense is like immaculate. You're like, wow, my defense is really good. But when same thing, when Jake Paul's just and again, just running on defense. Of course, he's gonna some rounds are gonna go by, you know. Like, yeah, but that was Anthony Joshua's whole thing.

SPEAKER_00

He he he told everybody he's gonna wait, and then he was gonna draw on him. He was because Jake, uh Logan, I mean, um, Anthony Joshua would have could have been stopped that. He just didn't feel like it, he didn't feel like it.

SPEAKER_04

I'm glad he did though, because you know, boxing isn't the most popular sport. UFC's obviously a little more mainstream, and uh all my UFC friends would have killed me, man. Anthony Joshua didn't do that, and I'm not like a big Anthony Joshua fan, but yeah, now I respect what he's doing for the woman that's in the sport.

SPEAKER_00

Uh I respect it. I gotta respect, man. He just signed a nothing but woman, so I I respect it.

SPEAKER_04

I was gonna say, man, that MVP promotions should be like women's VP soon because it's all women, man.

SPEAKER_03

But it's a woman box boxing uh boxes in your gym that's like coming up or not.

SPEAKER_00

We have one, there's one, but she ain't uh fight yet. She ain't fight yet, so okay. She's going pro or she's amateur. No, she's a pro now, but she ain't fight yet. Okay.

SPEAKER_04

That's good. How many so I've heard actually in the past from from other dudes from Georgia that exactly what you said about the sparring, how like the sparring rotations and stuff really really is stale. Do you ever go outside of Georgia? Like, I know Florida isn't far, and you have a lot of friends in Florida.

SPEAKER_00

Uh so we went to Las Vegas. I never went to I I went to Florida for sure, but I we never went to I went to Las Vegas to get sparring over there in Vegas. Okay. You know, you know, we gotta be real. I'm gonna be real on here. We don't got money to be traveling all the time right now. We don't got that bread. A lot of folks gonna lie and be like, I got the bread to do this. Like, but realistically, when you come from a struggle like me, like a lot of folks like us don't got money to be, unless we're going to a big nationals, like our family gonna support us and stuff like that. Then are we going to a we got a fight coming up and our family gonna help us and our team? But the money is is is is is if you don't have money like the way that Jake Paul's and all these guys got like we got bunny, but it ain't money that's crazy, you know what I mean? Yeah, so so I sparred, I went out there in Vegas and sparred uh Atif. Um, I don't you guys know Atif from Philadelphia. He just fought on the Clarissa Shields. Uh oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

He he uh he's the dude, the ball dude.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we I mean him did like the car hearts, yeah. Yeah, we did we did eight rounds of sparring or some shit like that. I think eight. We did eight. And then um I sparred Najee up there. Uh Najay right up on the team USA. I sparred him up there. We did probably like, yeah, then we did, I think we did five or four rounds. Uh all right. Uh no, uh not Najee Wright, Najee Wright. Oh, Najee Wright. Okay. So we did like probably like five to four rounds, and then I sparred this one dude. I'm pretty sure y'all seen who it was, but oh man. Uh, what's his name? He a rapper. He had the long dreads, he fought on the MVP. Y'all know who I'm talking about. Hold on. He had long dreads, and then he his dreads are so long, like they touched like his stomach tight. And and he went on there. Yeah, you remember he got sent through the ropes. Oh, Griffin? Yeah, so I spawned him at the top rank, Jim. Oh my god. He's scared, man. That's that dude, bro. Like, so not so so I think he fight at 154.7, but I think at the time when you're walking around, so I didn't ask to spar him. He asked to spar me. So I didn't want to spawn him at all. He I guess he was trying to, what's it called? Me, I went in there as BR beating the bricks off of him. It was so bad. It was so bad. Like, uh, what's his name? Got inside the ring. Um uh his coach got that the light skinned coach um that that be with Crawford got in the ring because I guess I was hitting him. And then I, yeah, and then I even dropped, I even dropped my hands on him. I'm like, bro, come on, bro. You hit like a bitch. I'm just like, bum, bum, bum. I said, come on. I said, that's all you're gonna do. So I just said, boom, and then I'm just releasing. So when I'm going crazy, so he wanted me to stop. So he wanted, he told me to stop. He he told me to till out. I'm throwing a combination on him. He said, Till, bro, till, bro, till. I'm like, bro, what? You better take that knee. Well, I'm like, you gotta take a knee because I'm not gonna stop. It's a rule in boxing. I feel like everybody in the in the sport of boxing, like, there's a rule. If you can't take the heat, you gotta take the knee. Like, you just is when you take the knee, I'm gonna walk off. It's it's boxing. Yeah, so I'm like, he wanted me to stop and pause. His coach telling me to chill out. I'm like, bro, I'm not stopping for nobody. Unless either I'm look when I see him take the knee, I know I'm safe. So I'm gonna walk off. I've always been taught that. I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't wait for, I don't stop because you tell me to stop. I'm gonna really try to hold it.

SPEAKER_04

I like I like that quote. When I see him take the knee, I know I'm safe. Yeah, I'm safe.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, I have to move. He he wanted me to stop during the sparring. He wanted to pause sparring. He was like, if I go to my bag, I said, go go to go go to your bag. I said, I'm gonna beat the shit out of you. I said, go to your bag. So I said, I would chase you. I said, bro, I will start a riot in this bitch. Like, I would like I told him, I said, What you gonna do? And then it was just like nothing. He was just like quiet, and then like uh He said, Go to Yeah, he said Yeah, he said, Yeah, he said he was gonna go to his bag. I'm like, Oh bro, I'm like yo bro, you that you just know you can't beat me that bad, you gonna go to your bag, bro? I was like, yo, bro, like you like I know how you undefeated, bro. And I just at the time, and then guess what? That same time he got knocked out by that light skinned dude and sent through the ropes.

SPEAKER_03

So I that's crazy.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, he got sent through the ropes.

SPEAKER_03

He was the big I didn't care, I didn't care, man. Oh yeah, yeah, we know it. Yeah, uh, I was dancing in the oh yeah, he would.

SPEAKER_04

I'm like, you said rapper, so I'm I'm sticking to like that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I did.

SPEAKER_04

Yo, it's funny you said that because we met him, we met him like ringside once, you know, just just talking briefly. I thought he was a rapper.

SPEAKER_03

I was like, he was with Crawford too, man.

SPEAKER_00

But but uh uh and me, I don't care about who you were. You could be with Crawford, you could be with uh Bowman, you could be with uh Canelo. You you you you you try to I don't care if you met Floyd Mayweather, I don't care about none of them dudes. These guys are are are retired now. Respect the Crawford and Mayweather. Mayweather's a legend, Crawford's a legend. But you this is you if I feel like you're trying to disrespect me or hold me, oh bro, we gonna fight. Bro, we're gonna fight. And I say, and and we and we don't gotta do it in the streets because I already knew how I was gonna end it with that. Yeah, it's a sport, but I was like, but and and and in the ring. I was like, like, we can do it in the ring, because you definitely don't want to do it. I mean on a road on a on a concrete. That's that's my style. So he's he's that welter, right? He's 147. You 147. So I'm pretty sure he probably on his walk around, he probably walks around like I don't know, like 160. I say a 60. I did yeah, 160. That's obvious 160.

SPEAKER_04

Would you I know you said it's hard for you to go down and you always say yes, but is that something you would go down for to fight him in fight him in in the main screen?

SPEAKER_00

No, he got he got come up to 160. I'll go to 160 for him. Okay. I'll go to 160 for him for sure. Uh yeah, he hit you up.

SPEAKER_04

Or was it just done after that? He hit you up after that.

SPEAKER_00

Nah, nah, nah, it was done at nah. Here's the thing. I didn't know him. I was just walking the top range of him. I think my teammate, my teammate Nate, was sparring uh was sparring one of the guys over there. Uh I think he's one of Crawford's sparring teammates, uh Lester Martinez. He was sparring him. Martinez Martinez is good too.

SPEAKER_04

He's a good dude.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, him and him and Nate were sparring. They did like eight rounds or something like that, or 10 or something like that. And um, after that, like uh they he walked over to my coach and asked to spar me. I'm like, bro, I'm like, bro, why would you ask that? I think and and then and then tell me to stop mid-sparring when I'm punching you. I'm not gonna stop.

SPEAKER_03

That's what I'm saying. When people call you out in the gym, yeah, me then you beat their ass and be like, yo, it's crazy. You want me to take it easy? You just call me out.

SPEAKER_00

But here's the thing how people try to portray shit. Uh, so like you gotta watch people, so man. So, like, oh, I'm 147. Oh, you got beat up by the little man. So I'm telling everybody to advise you. I don't care if you want 25, 119. If you ask to spar me, just know I'm gonna try to break your job. I that's just uh I'm gonna try to hurt you, bro. Like, I'm gonna put you, I'm gonna put you in the uh, I'm gonna do my best if I can. Some guys might not go up there, some guys are too are super strong, and some guys you might not put them away. But me, I'm gonna try to put you there. It's just like it's like four or five, baby. It's four or five, baby. But you but you know how it is, that's how it is.

SPEAKER_02

I'm saying Mike Tyson, oh y'all got issues up there.

SPEAKER_03

Y'all got issues. I'm calling Obama again.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, nah, but it's just it's just that's that's just how it is. Like it's it's it's the sport. You dude then you can't just try to go to your bag and say, I'm gonna go to my I said, bro. I will stop you before you get to the bag. I promise you, you would have never made it there. Well, because top rank gym is like a happy gym, man. What would they do? No, no, it's so crazy. Everybody in the top rank gym is good. Uh Jamar, I I seen Jamar Tilly up there. I'm cool with Jamar Tilly. Uh, I don't know the rest of the guys up there, you know what I'm saying? But I know that the owner up there, he be showing me love on the the the uh gent the manager for the top rank, he be showing me the love, showing me love on the gram. Like he's he's and I even told him and he even agreed with me. Like, if you're insparing, like, and you tell me to stop, I can't. You have to take a knee. It's just the it's the rules. It's like it's the rules. If you was back in the days, they wouldn't do that. Like, they would not do that. So I'm like, bro, that's a wild thing. I didn't even know you. I didn't know you were talking about him, and I'm like, and then I'm like, wait, and then yeah, I said it.

SPEAKER_04

I'm like, oh shit, that's crazy.

SPEAKER_00

I didn't even know I didn't even know who he was, bro. I just know he had long dreads. That's all I remember about him.

SPEAKER_03

He signed he signed with MVP.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, they had, and that's the the fight he lost. It was like they were showcasing him.

SPEAKER_00

That's about him, you know what I mean. I don't got no beef, but I just don't like him, so it is what it is. From that day, once you say you won't pull a gun on me, I'm like, Oh, yeah, bro. It's it's different, it's different. That's crazy, man. It's whole different. That means what why why you in the sport then? You could beat me up in the in the boxing ring, and that's crazy.

SPEAKER_04

He's he's he's boys with Terrence Crawford, man. And Terrence Crawford's a total opposite mentality, like that, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Like, and that's why I respect Crawford, you know what I mean? I respect Crawford and who he was. I met Crawford at Nationals and I talked to him, you know what I mean? Little conversation here and there, but it wasn't too long because you know he got a lot of people running up to him, so I'm not gonna I'm not gonna be the type to chase after, yeah. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_04

So he's good people, man. We we met him too. At first he was like standoffish because he don't know who we are, but then once he warmed up, he was good people.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure. Now, yeah.

Agent Talks And Staying Ready

SPEAKER_03

So speaking of uh promotions, who you signed to? You are you uh signed? You signed with a promotion company? Say it again. I said who are you signed to promotion wise?

SPEAKER_04

Are you are you with OTX? Who who's who's your promoter? Like who are you signed with? Are you a free agent? Hello? Yeah, y'all can hear me? Yeah, yeah. Can you hear us? Yeah, I can hear y'all. Uh he asked who you're signed with. Are you are you with OTX or how does that right right now?

SPEAKER_00

Nah, right now we're looking for something right now. I'm hearing some some things, but it's just it's talks. How do you gotta I don't really listen to anything right now because it's talks. Because even if people have me on the ground, Mr. Talks, oh, these people want to sign you, okay? And then I gotta hear it, and then like in my mind, cuz I'm in the gym 24-7 out of the day, so you know what I'm saying? I'm right now, I'm ready to fight right now.

SPEAKER_04

What is your walk around with? What's your walk around with? Hello? Sorry, we're having technical difficulties again. What's your walk around with?

SPEAKER_00

Like I walk around probably like 178, 170, 8, 7. Like, you know what I'm saying? I don't gotta cut that much. 168.

SPEAKER_04

177, what's who who who do you who do you see out of the top like 10? Like you mentioned, Lester Martinez. Who do you see is is best fit to to beat you? I know your confidence is through the roof, so you're gonna say I could beat everybody, but who do you see fit gives you the biggest challenge?

Opponents And Benavidez Lessons

SPEAKER_03

Who's your favorite fight? Like, what's your favorite fight? You like, yeah, I want to fight this guy and it's David Benavidez. Yeah, that's funny. He's a yeah. He was like, Yo, I love him, but I want to fight him. Yeah, that yo, you got the the fucking best mentality for this shit.

SPEAKER_00

I ain't gonna lie to you. Like, he David, my favorite fight of all time is David Benavidez versus Caleb Plant.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, he ragdolled him. He ragdolled Caleb man.

SPEAKER_00

Here's the kicker, everybody understand Caleb Plant was was was was was beating David Benavidez for the first six rounds or five rounds after that. The pressure went down. Is it that Benavides pressure was too much? Yeah, and that's when Benavides drowned him, but it was like the boxer with skills with the speed and footwork versus the the brawler puncher uh technique. People don't think Benavides can box. Yeah, he he breaks the body down like he he starts chopping on your body and chopping it and chopping it. It's just little rounds, and sooner or later, when they get to like round seven, it's gonna start.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, he he definitely he definitely warms up. I mean that's him versus Zerdo is a really good fight coming up.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, that's crazy. I got David stopping him.

SPEAKER_04

You think Zerdo Zerdo is so big, man. Like I never seen David not look as big as when they did the the weighing. Yeah. Um I'm here for it.

SPEAKER_00

He's big, but like uh it's just something when when you a hungry dude, Benavita's Yeah, look, look what he just did. David Benavidus just called out like three people. He said, I want I want uh Demetrius Bible and I want uh Arthur Betterbeer, and then called out Zerto, and like who does that? Like he put his hit list out already off the rip. Yeah, and duck it, and he like he did not duck it.

SPEAKER_04

I do like too, he's chasing the belts. He wants the belts. So I like when I like the idea, I say it all the time, though, the the four belts, and then you you fight for all those belts, and then you you're fighting a champion, you know, you're fighting a champion, so every fight is is good, it's just more people gotta fight, man. There's a lot of ducks. Yeah, I'm still here. All right. Uh but yeah, man. Um yeah, yeah, we hear you again. Uh it was the whole the whole episode's a little choppy in and out with with uh technical difficulties as usual. If you follow our show, you know we deal with that all the time. We're trying, but we're we're happy to have the real problem child, Matthew Noor, on the show. Uh super viral for his workouts, and it shows in the ring. He just told the crazy sparring story. Yeah, that's wow. Crazy sparring story. Do not ask him to spar.

Next Fight And Respect

SPEAKER_00

Hold on, you know. Like, I want to go, I like guys that hit like hard. Like, that's the type of work I like. I like guys who hit hard and fast, yeah, who like tries to want to kill me and sparring. I want you to try to kill me because I'm gonna try to kill you. So, like, you know what I mean? Like, it's and I'm in the gym every day. I don't, there's not one time out the day I'm not in the gym. There'd be times at night, like I could be in my bed at night, and we just get out of the gym like at like say 11 o'clock or 12. Yeah, and I'll be home at like 3 a.m. Like sleep. I'm like, man, I'm gonna I get up and go to a 24-7 gym just just to just to start shouting boxing and doing whatever. Like, it just I just want to I just like it's like fighting, man. I just like fighting people.

SPEAKER_04

Listen, man, you you have you have the mentality of a champion. You know once you enter that ring, it's it's it's not it's all or nothing, really. It's all or all, actually, I should say. Um, we're about an hour in now. I don't again, we appreciate the time. I don't want to take up any more of your time. We started the show off talking about how you're from Newburgh originally, 845, Kingston's rival. So it's it's a pleasure, and uh you are you are one of my favorite fighters now. From that alone, let alone your your the training you do punching rocks and tires, and and Willie's got Georgia roots.

SPEAKER_00

So you I appreciate that. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Hey, how are you?

SPEAKER_03

Definitely gonna be watching out for you. What's uh what you got you don't know what you got coming up?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, is there is there a date lined up coming down the pipe or um it's crazy.

SPEAKER_00

So my coaches sent me a text message that said this this could be this could be a fight right here, right now. So like I'm I'm hearing things my coaches sent me. So it's so well we don't know yet for sure because everything, you know, every a lot of stuff changes in the pro game. The pro game is so fun. So right now we have something right now. Before the waiting is just pissing me off, but it is what it is.

SPEAKER_03

Well, somebody signed you soon, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you're you're marketable, you're well spoken, and you're a real you're a real dog.

SPEAKER_03

They better somebody better sign you up fast, man. I'm telling them now.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I appreciate y'all for interviewing me. Thank you. I appreciate all both of you, man. And and I I'm always I'm a I'm a I'm a cool dude. I like to work with anybody, you know. I'm chill.

SPEAKER_04

Let us so we'll let you go, man. Just let me know in the DMs when that fight gets made official, and I'll I'll we like to well, everyone we interview, we try to go to the fights, so we'd like to come out. We travel, so yeah.
