Yeah. Well, back in the"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":176.85,"endTime":181.11,"body":"day, and also in my training way"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":181.11,"endTime":185.55,"body":"back in the day, we didn't know"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":181.11,"endTime":185.55,"body":"much about ADHD, especially ADHD"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":185.58,"endTime":189.9,"body":"in adults. So I had no clue what"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":185.58,"endTime":189.9,"body":"was going on and why I was so"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":189.9,"endTime":193.95,"body":"disorganized and had issues with"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":189.9,"endTime":193.95,"body":"this getting life together for"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":193.95,"endTime":198.27,"body":"me and my family. I have two"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":193.95,"endTime":198.27,"body":"daughters, who are now young"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":198.27,"endTime":203.43,"body":"adults in my youngest way back"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":198.27,"endTime":203.43,"body":"when she was a toddler, she had"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":203.43,"endTime":207.3,"body":"her you know, her baby vaccine,"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":203.43,"endTime":207.3,"body":"the MMR, which most babies at"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":207.3,"endTime":211.86,"body":"least in the US have to, for the"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":207.3,"endTime":211.86,"body":"most part have before they start"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":211.86,"endTime":216.93,"body":"school. And in our case, my"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":211.86,"endTime":216.93,"body":"daughter a few days after the"},{"speaker":"Brooke Schnittman","startTime":216.93,"endTime":219.03,"body":"injection, went into seizures."},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":220.17,"endTime":223.59,"body":"It was a hot a"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":220.17,"endTime":223.59,"body":"horrible thing to experience as"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":223.59,"endTime":228.63,"body":"a mom or anybody to see a young"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":223.59,"endTime":228.63,"body":"child going to seizures. And so"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":228.63,"endTime":231.21,"body":"we went to the, you know,"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":228.63,"endTime":231.21,"body":"through EMS went to the hospital"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":231.21,"endTime":235.71,"body":"very quickly. They couldn't stop"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":231.21,"endTime":235.71,"body":"the seizures. So after a few"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":235.71,"endTime":240.63,"body":"days of being medicated, they"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":235.71,"endTime":240.63,"body":"put her into a drug induced coma"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":240.63,"endTime":244.38,"body":"to stop the seizure activity in"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":240.63,"endTime":244.38,"body":"her brain. When they woke her"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":244.38,"endTime":248.52,"body":"up, I think it was four days"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":244.38,"endTime":248.52,"body":"later, she was in a vegetative"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":248.52,"endTime":252.33,"body":"state, meaning she had lost her"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":248.52,"endTime":252.33,"body":"memory. She didn't know who I"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":252.33,"endTime":256.44,"body":"was. She lost anything that she"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":252.33,"endTime":256.44,"body":"had gained developmentally up to"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":256.44,"endTime":260.97,"body":"that point at 15 months. So she"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":256.44,"endTime":260.97,"body":"was talking. She was able to"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":260.97,"endTime":265.08,"body":"feed herself she was able to"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":260.97,"endTime":265.08,"body":"walk, communicate, you know, all"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":265.08,"endTime":270.3,"body":"the things that toddlers can do."},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":265.08,"endTime":270.3,"body":"She lost all of it. So it was a"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":270.45,"endTime":274.56,"body":"pretty her horrifying time in"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":270.45,"endTime":274.56,"body":"our lives. I had an older"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":274.56,"endTime":278.58,"body":"daughter to a few years older,"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":274.56,"endTime":278.58,"body":"who we all basically lost her"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":278.61,"endTime":282.75,"body":"she lost herself. So she was in"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":278.61,"endTime":282.75,"body":"the hospital for nearly a month"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":282.9,"endTime":287.31,"body":"and that the different therapies"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":282.9,"endTime":287.31,"body":"came in very quickly. OT PT"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":287.31,"endTime":290.01,"body":"learning how to swap she"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":287.31,"endTime":290.01,"body":"couldn't even suck from a bottle"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":290.01,"endTime":292.8,"body":"anymore. She was really"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":290.01,"endTime":292.8,"body":"embarrassed that she had life"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":292.8,"endTime":296.7,"body":"support and the whole thing, but"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":292.8,"endTime":296.7,"body":"slowly and surely she's mainly"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":296.7,"endTime":300.84,"body":"her gross motor started to come"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":296.7,"endTime":300.84,"body":"back very slowly. And while she"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":300.84,"endTime":304.11,"body":"was able to swallow using an eye"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":300.84,"endTime":304.11,"body":"dropper, it was they they"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":304.11,"endTime":307.14,"body":"released her, I thought, oh my"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":304.11,"endTime":307.14,"body":"gosh, how am I going to take"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":307.14,"endTime":309.9,"body":"care of this child when she"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":307.14,"endTime":309.9,"body":"can't do much of anything?"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":310.71,"endTime":313.86,"body":"Anyhow, so they discharged her,"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":310.71,"endTime":313.86,"body":"she came home, she couldn't sit"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":313.86,"endTime":316.86,"body":"up, she couldn't stand up. So we"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":313.86,"endTime":316.86,"body":"had her in a baby seat on the"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":316.86,"endTime":320.85,"body":"floor, strapped up, because you"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":316.86,"endTime":320.85,"body":"know, her head would drop. But"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":320.85,"endTime":324.66,"body":"like I said, slowly, but surely,"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":320.85,"endTime":324.66,"body":"some of these things came back."},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":325.08,"endTime":328.14,"body":"It took a while with a lot of"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":325.08,"endTime":328.14,"body":"therapies, daily therapy, people"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":328.14,"endTime":331.14,"body":"coming in meaning taking her to"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":328.14,"endTime":331.14,"body":"different people, different"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":331.14,"endTime":335.76,"body":"professionals. So fast forward,"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":331.14,"endTime":335.76,"body":"because it is a very long story."},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":335.94,"endTime":339.81,"body":"She did regain a lot of her"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":335.94,"endTime":339.81,"body":"abilities. So at one point, she"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":339.81,"endTime":342.84,"body":"was pulling herself up, she was"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":339.81,"endTime":342.84,"body":"she lost her whole right side,"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":342.84,"endTime":345.9,"body":"she looked like she had a"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":342.84,"endTime":345.9,"body":"stroke. So she was right handed,"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":345.9,"endTime":348.36,"body":"she lost her whole right side."},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":345.9,"endTime":348.36,"body":"So she had to learn to use her"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":348.36,"endTime":352.32,"body":"left hand, and her right hand"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":348.36,"endTime":352.32,"body":"was cooked up like this. Slowly"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":352.32,"endTime":357.09,"body":"it came back down. Slowly, she"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":352.32,"endTime":357.09,"body":"was able to start to get herself"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":357.09,"endTime":359.7,"body":"up, you know, it was like she"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":357.09,"endTime":359.7,"body":"was reborn, you know, she"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":359.7,"endTime":364.41,"body":"started from scratch. So she"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":359.7,"endTime":364.41,"body":"eventually learned to walk"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":364.41,"endTime":368.07,"body":"again. And what happened and"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":364.41,"endTime":368.07,"body":"they warned me that whatever we"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":368.07,"endTime":372.36,"body":"had seen as when she was a"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":368.07,"endTime":372.36,"body":"toddler, you might see that even"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":372.36,"endTime":375.66,"body":"more intensely, so she was an"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":372.36,"endTime":375.66,"body":"active toddler, as many are"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":375.66,"endTime":378.45,"body":"though, you know, I wasn't"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":375.66,"endTime":378.45,"body":"concerned I just thought, you"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":378.45,"endTime":381.84,"body":"know, I've had one child who is"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":378.45,"endTime":381.84,"body":"also active. But this child was"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":381.84,"endTime":385.77,"body":"also very active once she"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":381.84,"endTime":385.77,"body":"regained a lot of her abilities."},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":386.55,"endTime":390.51,"body":"But this was super active, she"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":386.55,"endTime":390.51,"body":"was so hyperactive, because the"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":390.51,"endTime":395.04,"body":"part of the brain that has to do"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":390.51,"endTime":395.04,"body":"with activity and impulsivity"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":395.04,"endTime":398.04,"body":"was burned out, basically, those"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":395.04,"endTime":398.04,"body":"cells were just gone. And they"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":398.04,"endTime":402.0,"body":"didn't, and they wouldn't come"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":398.04,"endTime":402.0,"body":"back. So I always had to have"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":402.0,"endTime":404.97,"body":"another adult with me in the"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":402.0,"endTime":404.97,"body":"house for a very long time just"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":404.97,"endTime":407.85,"body":"to keep her safe. Because she"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":404.97,"endTime":407.85,"body":"was no longer walking, she was"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":407.85,"endTime":412.2,"body":"running. So fast forward again."},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":407.85,"endTime":412.2,"body":"So we're getting her back as"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":412.2,"endTime":418.02,"body":"best we can. And she never did"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":412.2,"endTime":418.02,"body":"100% come back. So you know, she"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":418.02,"endTime":421.98,"body":"continues to have issues as an"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":418.02,"endTime":421.98,"body":"adult. But she's come back way"},{"speaker":"Terry Matlen","startTime":421.98,"endTime":425.49,"body":"more than we ever expected.
