All right, hey. Uh you've been having a tough start to this week, huh? Um what do you want what do you mean? I mean We could talk about Liverpool, yes. That was that was a tough beginning and then a tough couple games since then, also. So I guess I'm gonna ask the question that all of our listening audience wants to know. Have you switched to hockey season yet? No, but I might get pushed violently there. Yeah. By the end of this week, we we should. Violence. It's what's make what's made what makes hockey exciting. We shall see. Uh why. Just because I'm interested, because you know, you've uh well your team's not doing well. Your football team's doing well. Which one? Oh, the Niners?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01You know what you you here's what you need. Yeah, I think here's part of the problem. Well, that's your football team too, though, too, right? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, so like I've had a good week with that football, at least, not the other football, but a nice good week with this football. But what you need to do is uh they did uh like four-episode series. I know you won't like it because Tom Brady was a producer and like partially hosts it, but about the rise of the 49ers. Oh, yeah, I haven't watched that yet. I do need to watch it. It is fantastic, it'll make you feel at home again. It four or five. It's so good. So I do need to watch that. There's no reason for me not to watch that. So good, and it might actually make you hate Tom Brady a little less, even though stuff he's been doing recently would make you hate him a little more. So maybe it'll just even everything back out. He's just all over the commercials because everything's on Fox right now. Yeah, and he looks so fake. Like he looks like a scarecrow version of himself. It's weird. Maybe he is. Maybe he went into that massage parlor and it's not time Brady at all, it's his dupe. Dupe? Is that your word today? Have you seen no, it's not my word today. Have you seen that show though? Which one? The one with you go into a massage parlor parlor. So that's it's the funniest part of the well, it's not the funniest part, but it's a funny part of the show.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01But it's like a drama, well, drama comedy sort of thing. And it's is it Paul Rudd, maybe? I think it's Paul Rudd. It's one of our favorite actors. I don't remember who it is now. But he goes into a massage parlor, which is funny because they also involve Tom Brady in it with the whole massage parlor incident with the Patriots. It's hilarious. Okay. But basically, what happens is when you go into this massage parlor, they like they like make a copy of you using your DNA and murder you. Oh, what is that? I know. Oh it's not multiplicity and also not as funny as multiplicity. Yeah. You liked multiplicity? How can you not?
SPEAKER_02That was um Batman, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I like Pizza.
SPEAKER_02I thought that was when he had jumped the jumped a shark.
unknownCome on.
SPEAKER_02No, I thought that was when his career was kind of over a little bit. You are you were fired. That's when he was trying. That's when everybody just wanted to keep making Batman movies or do something like that, and he wouldn't. Or Beetlejuice movies.
SPEAKER_01I wasn't prepared for this. Oh, living with yourself.
SPEAKER_02That does not sound familiar to me for some reason.
SPEAKER_01It's on Netflix. Okay. It only had one season.
SPEAKER_02At least it wasn't um you didn't, yeah, you didn't promote Apple. You promote Apple TV every show you do.
SPEAKER_01Oh shit. The new season of uh Slow Horses just started, and it's so good. All right, I'm I will be starting that soon because I I'm hearing nothing but good stuff everywhere from it. So and it's like on season six or something.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah. Yeah. All right. That's all we had going with us today is chaos and TV shows.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I guess so. Well, chaos, yes. What chaos, even more? Oh, we talk about them too much. I can never talk about them too much. They do such a good show, and like I am trying to get all of my non-hockey fan friends to watch this show, and some of my hockey fan friends, but mostly non-watchers, just because I think they make it it's not annoying. It doesn't get uh into the like you know minutia of stats and stuff like that. Like they talk about stats a little bit, but it's mostly just fun talk about hockey teams and players and contracts gone wrong. They talk about stats like when they start talking about it, I feel like I'm like lost. Yeah, but I mean you just don't know those stats. Two years ago, you didn't know any baseball stats. That is true. That is true. So basically, this week's this week's word is Lady Boner because what chaos gives them Lady Boner. I mean, they do kind of give me a lady boner. Oh, sorry. And they also do a bit, you know, a bit of the episode about like just random you know movies they've gone to see and stuff like that. Uh DJ's big on Digger right now. Yeah, I saw them, I heard them talking about that. Like they do a good like 10 minutes. You do watch it a little bit. Yeah, I'll listen to that a little bit. I um I've been trying to stay up on it. I haven't been listening to the whole episode. I get the maybe the first half hour in. Well, and it's hard now. When they when they taper off, I'm like, okay, I need to put something else in because I just zone out when I'm when they're when they start talking about stuff I think. It's hard now because they just got back into season, like in HL season. So they do four episodes a week and they're all like two plus hours long, yeah. Which is a lot to commit to. But I do like their their banter the first 10-15 minutes. Um now they just switched over to a new uh provider or whatever. They're part of uh Bill Simmons network now. Yeah, I guess it's a pretty big move. That'll be our future. I don't think Bill Simmons is ever gonna hire us. You haven't even met him. You gotta you gotta believe, dude. I believe that Bill Simon. I think you could swing Bill Simmons. I I mean he looks small. I could probably swing him, but I don't know that I could get him to I could swing Gene Simmons. No, you couldn't. Maybe his son. Yeah, probably okay. A little bit of banter right there, lady boner sports. Um but that that's just telling you where you're at again. The greatest the greatest slang show on uh TV. Greatest slang show recorded in Surprise Arizona. Hang out with your slang out starring Oh my god, I'm a star now? Hang on. I'm Dan. And featuring Matt.
SPEAKER_02Now is featuring better than starring?
SPEAKER_01I think so. That's why I keep myself featuring. Because I feel like when you're watching the credits, it always says the person who was like Robert Downey Jr., and then it like features like somebody who's in the movie for for like 10 minutes. No, when it's it's the other way around. So it'll do the whole cast, and they'll be like featuring this guy that's got 17 stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and four Oscars. No, we just watched Transformers and it was starring all those guys, Chud Nelson, and then featuring Orson Wells. Right. Orson Wells was the biggest part of that movie, dude.
SPEAKER_02I know he was fat.
SPEAKER_01It was his last ever role. That's no excuse. He was still fat. Is that why he died? Because what? Oh, because he was fat? Because he was fat. I thought you meant because it was his last role. He didn't die because of that, but that's why he made his last role. It's a vicious circle. Cycle. No, there's a circle. He was shaped like a circle. I get it. Vicious circle is a Dane Cook special. Uh it is.
SPEAKER_02Is it vicious circle?
SPEAKER_01No, it's vicious.
SPEAKER_02Is it circle? It's vicious something. Yeah. Man, that's been a bit. We don't need Dane Cook on here. Let's go to music.
SPEAKER_01Um, okay, so I've heard this term a ton. Okay. And it wasn't until last week, maybe, that I actually heard the definition of it. And at the time, I thought the word was stupid because I don't feel like it's word. 85% of the words he feels is stupid. That's not true. 95%. And about 3% of them, he comes back and he's like, well, I like this word. Yeah. And so after hearing the definition, I actually feel better about it, especially with the stupidity going on in our world. Um have you heard the term ratioed?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Ratioed? Actually, I have, but it's okay to tell me you don't know the definition because I had no idea what the definition is. I just kept seeing it said or typed everywhere.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_01I got annoyed by it because I was like, it doesn't even feel like it fits in context. So I mean, technically, we always joke around, like I have a friend that used to say, like, we pour drinks, and he's like, that's not the ratio. And I think you know who that friend is by that voice. But is it a friend? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Well, he's yeah, he's like family, but not family. But he used to say ratio all the time.
SPEAKER_01But he didn't mean he meant like how much drink you're pouring. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_02But uh is ratio got something to do with uh like your body count?
SPEAKER_01No. And I was thankful that it didn't because that would make sense. I thought for sure it was getting used that way, but I'm it could possibly, but that's not the definition I read. And I like the definition that I read. So we're gonna go with that one. I'm afraid it might come up that way. So ratioed basically uh has to do with like, you know, Twitter threads, Instagram culture, basically. And basically what it is is you get ratioed when you post something that is so asinine that you have more comments slamming you for making that statement than you have likes on that statement. That seems smarter than I thought it was gonna be. It's way smarter, and I eff and love it because I mean I probably said stuff that has gotten me ratioed before on the internet. He's so gonna, he's you're gonna be all about this now. Yeah, but it's it's fantastic because I feel like it's the like it's a perfect explanation for people that wouldn't understand the explanation. But what like look how dumb you are, you effing idiots. You are so dumb that people are wasting parts of their day to tell you how dumb they are or dumb you are. So I'll get to the I'll get to the definition that came up, which is basically what you said. But there's something very current going on, and and I I know we make jokes about political stuff here and there, and we try not to go on. By here and there he says mo what he means is most episodes. Sorry about that.
SPEAKER_02But um there's been a war going on for a while.
SPEAKER_01Now there's two, but one of them um blew up some of the uh what was it, the AI things uh the chatbots? Yeah, and not chatbots, but whatever they're and have you seen it's immediately changed the elections? It's immediately changed anybody's content. Like everybody who was getting flagged, all the guys who were like anything they say, anything that reportedly reportedly goes against that that certain person and his uh fans, um, they're like it they're gone. Like immediately gone. And like some people are like they're popping back up in like uh in like in their feeds how they were getting buried and all that stuff. And another guy uh I was seeing online just today, because this happened what two days ago? Yeah, one or two, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um he's saying his spam calls have stopped. No shit. Yeah, and I thought about it.
SPEAKER_01I ain't got a spam call in the last two days. I have really, yeah, but I mean it's mostly about financial stuff, it's probably partially my fault. Yeah. Um but yeah, I saw that news and I was thrilled. And even if I wasn't a Zelensky fan before, I am now. Not because I will ever feel that people don't have the right to be heard, but I do feel that regardless of what side you're on, you don't have the right to push false narratives to get your way. I'm surprised that hasn't been done sooner. Because that's been a problem since three election cycles ago. Something like that. Yeah. But, anyways, that's kind of current. Uh the definition, the official definition comes up is being ratioed is social media slaying that happens when a post or reply receives far more criticism, comments, or negative engagement than it does positive likes. That's the official one, that's not urban dictionary.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_02Urban dictionary, it's when your dick goes in. Oh no, I'm just making that. That's not usually what the thing is, though, it turns into something special. Yeah. When a reply to a tweet gets more likes than the tweet it was replying to, usually indicating the unpopularity or stupidity of the original tweet. Damn, you got like 12 likes and his reply got 27. He totally ratioed you, bro.
SPEAKER_01That's interesting because that's like a similar but different definition, like as opposed to just like the amount of follow-up commentary versus likes. Yeah. It's likes on the follow-up commentary that slammed the original post versus likes. So it's still likes versus likes. See, I like this, and I what's weird is as many times as I've seen this and it being used, I just assumed it kind of leaned towards something else, and I was like, we don't need to worry about it. And it's I wish I would have looked this up. We could I this is a really good word. Yeah, this is a word that I would have used previously had I had more knowledge of it. I feel like you'd be the you drop you do this to everybody. So being revealed as an idiot on Twitter by having a high ratio of comments to likes and retweets. I do like making people feel like idiots. Not on Twitter because I refuse to use it, but on threads. Yeah. And Facebook? Have you done that lately? It's just threads. Mostly threads lately. Just a sidebar. Actually, I've been pretty good on threads lately, because for the most part, for threads, I've been using my threads for the Sharks podcast. So gotcha. I don't want to like that lose people based on saying stupid shit there. But if there's something that really requires a response, I'll switch to my personal. You say stupid shit?
SPEAKER_02Tell me more.
SPEAKER_01No, I don't say stupid shit. They say stupid shit, and I have to let them know about ratioed when someone posts something unwholesome and cringe. See one of our later episodes, then someone else gets more upvotes than them for owning them. So this reminds me of one of my favorite uh social like pages is the one where they take a clip of something that's cringy or weird, and then it's just nothing but the comments to like some goofy music or whatever. Right. And some of those comments are undefeated. That reminds me of this a little bit. Yeah. And that's one of my favorite things is going down one of them rabbit holes. Did you look up any like examples of ratio, like on once you figured out what it was? No, and I'm I mean, I see them every day, but I'm also kind of worried that if I look them up right now, most of the ones that I gave you would be political leaning because I think there's so many people that like in the toxic environment we're in, again, regardless of direction that you believe in.
SPEAKER_02Only one direction is really I do love one direction. Yeah. I did. It's too soon.
SPEAKER_01Anyways, I think that because of all that, there are plenty of people who will say shit without any informational backup that is so easy to get ratioed. I will say that most of them recently have to do with, I don't know, vaccinations and pedophilia. But like I just I just think that there's in a lot of cases, there's so many times where somebody just goes to the woodshed with no proof and then gets confused as to why they're getting owned on the internet.
SPEAKER_02What was that? That was what in pedophilia? Vaccines. Vaccine is pedophilia. Was that like Marilyn Manson's like third album? Fourth. Fourth. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01He did a couple songs with Jack White on that. A little outside the box. Um, I did see a clip from Silver Chair the other day. It was live performance. Really good. It's like it's like when they're older. Like it's it's probably 10 years old, but he was still a lot older than than what it was. But I like a special needs guy got on stage and started chanting when he was doing the thing, and that everybody went to take him, and the lead singer was like, No, let him go, let him go. And he had him jump and sing the whole song with him. And it's one of the it's when rock stars do stuff like that.
SPEAKER_02It's just like you don't have to musically did they sound good? And he sounded great. It was the year 2000 anthem.
SPEAKER_01Yeah 2000. Not quite that one, but like unless you're a Conan O'Brien fan, you won't get that.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, in the year 2000, they had the flashlights.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I just figured out how we're starting the next episode because it's our spooky episode.
SPEAKER_01Noise. Um that's super awesome. Uh, the reason I asked if they sounded good was because going back to a previous conversation we had had about how they may not have may or may not have played their instruments on the first album. After that, after that episode, we talked about it too.
SPEAKER_02I had a had a lull at work and I was just like, you know what? I'm gonna look that stuff up.
SPEAKER_01And it's it's based it's based on one of the former uh producers that was supposed to be back then.
SPEAKER_02But it's one of those it's turned into like, all right, it was he's just starting to start shit because he got left out.
SPEAKER_01Like, is he just making like is he just yeah, like that's the only thing that's based on and it's built off of that. So my point was going to be say it was the issue, which I could completely understand, especially on their first studio album. I could totally understand that and whatnot. But like that means at some point in the process, all those guys had to sit and like legitimately learn. We should maybe give an update on that. So, like there was a rumor that Silverchair recorded the first album because they were like 14, 14, 15, and that they weren't technically not good enough, even though they wrote the songs and they played them live. But playing live is so much different than recording, that they had they brought in studio musicians to record afterwards, which I know was a thing back in the day. And they may not even have known that some of their tracks got replaced. So that's why I was like, I I I could believe it could happen because I know it's happened to other artists, yeah, and it still happens to artists, but um, because he really, really likes silver chair. I do really, really like silver chair. I like my chair's gold, you know what I'm saying? Yeah, you're gaudy as fuck. Um how did you guess my word?
SPEAKER_02Gaudy as fuck.
SPEAKER_01Cough. Uh speaking of live music, we haven't talked since you went to a live show recently. Oh man. Should have started we should have started this with that. We can start the next episode with it. You can cut this part. Nope. Because we're gonna do the year 2000. Yeah, 2000. I haven't watched that skit in a while. I need to watch that. That used to be my favorite. He did a bunch of them. Yeah, that was one of my favorite things that he used to do on Kona. That masturbating bear. Unstoppable. Something so stupid that you knew it was gonna happen, you knew what you're gonna see. And it was funny, funny every time. Every single time. Yeah. I don't I don't know how that worked. If only someday I can catch that in the wild. And then he got to the thing where they kept playing on the thing where the the guy in the big bear suit would like just do it when he wasn't supposed to, technically in the and it would just kill Conan. Or he'd get mad and he'd like, knock it off, dude, we're done, and they'd keep going. That's the best. But um how that guy doesn't still have a show is beyond me. Yeah, well, he's got a pretty big uh podcast. Yeah, his podcast is pretty big. He doesn't have the number one slang podcast, but that's because he doesn't ever talk about slang words. Or if he does, he doesn't claim to be a slang podcast, in which case we win. Well, he's not, he's probably a comedy podcast. Conan's almost a slang word by now, if you think about it. Kinda. Because he and he totally ripped that off from uh he stole that away from Arnold Schwarzenegger because you would have said Conan and you'd think of Arnold, right? Now you say Conan, you think of O'Brien. Yeah, you think of red hair string dance. But um, yeah, went to see daughter bought me tickets, me and my wife tickets to see the Foo Fighters at the Allegiant Stadium in Vegas. That's the big one, it looks like Darth Vader's head. And hadn't been yet. It's been open for a few years. Darth Vader's head if he had a flat top. That's like a big black UFO.
SPEAKER_02Why is it gonna be black, dude?
SPEAKER_01See, I can do his jokes for him now. Why are these aliens racist? I don't understand. The studio, I mean that's that stadium's fantastic.
SPEAKER_02And I don't know if I've ever been in an official air-conditioned new stadium like that. Oh, oh, oh, and shoot, I should we should have talked about this other stuff.
SPEAKER_01But anyways, the studio, oh, we went and saw um that stadium was amazing, saw Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age opened. I want it's weird because I want to say I wasn't ready for it, but I was ready for it because it's one of my bucket list bands because I I really got into them the last few years. Always into them, but you they're never they're never anybody's first favorite band. Let's know. It's like they have to grow on you. It's the weirdest thing. Because they're not like they're considered stoner rock, at least that's what they originally were called. Yeah, yeah. And they've never really been stoner rock. No, they've never really been stoner rock. I just think that they were like they were never really like radio popular rock. Yeah, until they did the one song. Except for Little Sister. I mean, they had those couple hits, but the only real big hit they had was No One Knows with when Dave played the drums. But like they were. So not radio popular that I think they got lost in the shuffle because, like the big bands, Foo Fighters included, yeah, you know, were able to send out a number of radio popular hits. And yeah, Queens is so good. I almost feel like sad that I missed them. And you could list a handful of their albums, and there's five to six singles on every album that that could be radio hits, and they're not. That's what's other than the hand the couple that maybe some people know. But um technically one of the the best, coolest sounding bands, because I've heard bands like News was technically a tighter sounding band, sure. Um, but that's you know, that's a really high bar. They were technically a fantastic sounding band, but they play with such like edge and like a looseness and a darkness, like a freedom to it. It's like a vibe, and it was it was just it felt like it felt a little dangerous, a little gnarly. To be fair, I would bet that that's why it's considered stoner rock because like it's not like we are playing these notes in this order every single time. It is these notes will be included in the song that we're playing, and we're gonna kind of they're like jazzy rock. That's a terrible way of saying it, but like No, I know exactly what you're saying. It's it's a hundred percent that's because there's that freedom to it. They're so much more talented with their instruments than I thought they were. Because I like I think on first listens, when you listen to their music, you're not, you know, like technically that's not the hardest riff until you realize how he's tuned his guitar and and how he's playing it. You're like, oh, that is pretty rough. And to play it technically with uh like drums that like jazz, like they're not maybe following the same rhythm you are, but it all fits together as pieces, and then to see them do that live and extend stuff and and play stuff. They they played a few songs, they did versions where they slowed stuff down. Um they just did an album where they went to the catacombs in in France or whatever, and like he didn't even plug in a mic, he just sang and let the the stuff he recorded how it reverbed while they played, and and you can tell that influenced the new the new the new show this for the uh for this tour, and it's fantastic. Yeah, um I wish they would have played longer, but like you were saying, like there's a lot of things. Hopefully you don't get ratioed for that hot take the Queen of the Stone Age is good.
SPEAKER_02I don't think anybody would, because I it's the third time I've seen the Foo Fighters, it's the worst they've ever sounded.
SPEAKER_01Really? Yeah, it they didn't sound bad by any means. It wasn't bad by any means, but it was just a rougher and looser, and like how you were just saying like they can play loose like jazz. Well, when like other bands do it, it sounds a little bit like that's a little too much distortion or it's a little rough around the edges, which is fine. That's a rock show. With when they play a little loose, it feels like the jazz vibe, like everybody's still in pocket. Well, I think you also have that thing where, especially with like Foo Fighters, they've spent so many years playing so many shows every year. Queens doesn't do that that same way. Where I feel like some of the looseness with Foo Fighters comes from we're bored of playing playing the same thing every night. Yeah, and they're not as good. Not God, that's a terrible way to say it. No, no, no, it's being one of my favorite bands, but they're not as good as improvising in that way as Queens is because Queens has fewer opportunities to do it, so it just seems like a fun little romp. And they could have played a lot longer, Queens could have had a lot more songs they could have played. Uh Foo, I've seen him three times. The first two times they technically almost did the exact same set. Um, only difference is is the first time we saw him with Taylor, and then he passed away right afterwards, and this the next they took that year off, and then we kind of forgot the first time you saw him was yeah, and then we saw him when they brought the new guy in, who was technically amazing, but it totally did change the dynamic of the show, and the show was kind of like a like this is for Taylor tour. This time it was more about them being the foo, and they have the they have the new drummer, I can't remember his name, but he played for 9 Inch Nails, who is technically one of the best drummers, and you don't realize it at first because he's playing foo stuff, but he did solo stuff, and then they all played songs from all the different bands they were in, except him. He refused to play the because he was in 9 Inch Nails and he was in I don't know if it's like Meat Puppets or something like that. It's weird, some weird band. But he Dave was like, Fuck, if he was in Meat Puppets, they absolutely should have played his. They were like, they were like, Do you he's like, You want to play? He's like, Nope. And he's like, You should want to play out of this band. He's all nope. And he's like, What do you want to do? He's obviously got up from the drum set and he grabbed the guitar. He's a better guitar player than Dave. No shit. And drummer. I it blew my mind. I was because I was I was so excited because they had done like Pat's one of Pat's old uh uh songs, and then they did um one of Chris's old songs, yeah. And then they did all of them, everybody did their own songs. And what's his name was in um the Wallflowers, the the keyboarders? Oh, I didn't know. They played one headlight. That's fun, yeah.
SPEAKER_02So that was just a blast. So I'm like, oh, we're gonna hear closer or um had like a hole or something.
SPEAKER_01We're gonna hear some something fantastic. And he was like, in a way, he refused it was kind of like it was bad blood, like that or nine inch nails has that stuff on lock. Like, you're not allowed to touch my stuff, which is stupid. Yeah, but that feels very resner. It kind of does, right? Yeah, yeah. So um, fantastic show. Love the love the stadium. I forget that you didn't see them until like five years ago. Yeah, and it's one of those bands too. It's like, I like how did I not see the 20 years? Foo Fighter show, yeah, is still my favorite Foo Fighter show I've ever seen. And I saw that in '97. Yeah. So like you had the rise of the Food Fighters before they became what they kind of are. Right. And the thing to that too is by seeing them way back in '97, like it was Color in the Shape Tour, and you got songs that they have never played live again. And what's frustrating is I'm not saying it's just about the Foo Fighters, I think I just notice it more from the Food Fighters because I've seen them whatever it is now, five or six times, is that their catalog is so deep with so many really good songs that never hit the radio. Yeah. And it's like, play those. We have heard all of the other ones every single time. If you think that it's a brand new set of crowd members every time you come to an area, you are outside your mind. It's the people that have been fans of you forever. There's some interchangeable. So you would have loved this show. I just, I want those deep cuts. Yeah. They didn't do as many deep cuts, but they changed it enough to where um I think it was four albums ago. They had a song called Wheels. It was kind of when they kind of went like Steely Dan a little bit. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And it was like they all changed their vibe. They played that. Like they did that whole set where they came up and they went acoustic, and that was the first song they played. And he's like, You guys don't know this song. I was like, We all sang every word of that goddamn song.
SPEAKER_01Because it was like, holy crap, they're playing something we haven't played. And then I showed you that little bit of a clip when he's talking about how it was because they were doing the MTV music uh musical video awards the next night. So him and Chris from Nirvana and Pat were gonna accept the Vanguard Award or whatever it is. So he was accepting the Vanguard Award, and then uh so they were talking about that, and then he's all this is the first song I ever wrote. And he was I wrote it, and he told the story how he wrote it with um in the back room when he was living with uh Kurt, and it's uh oh what was it?
SPEAKER_02What's that stupid flower? Yeah, that's the name of the song. What's that stupid flower? But I thought I I can't remember if I sent did I send you any of the video clip? Oh, I can't show you, it's on my phone.
SPEAKER_01Um start naming flowers for me. Marigold. Marigold, thank you, nailed it.
unknownThank you.
SPEAKER_01I was thinking really, was that it? Yeah, and that's what he played, go team. Yeah, because apparently he wrote that and he said I read it on his guitar because he was left-handed. He's also impossible. But he's like, We're gonna play it for you. And I was just like, so they played that and then all those hits they did to the other other guy's stuff. Um, so they they really didn't play much of any of the newer stuff because they have a new album. I don't think they played one song on that new album that they're touring for right now. I can almost tell you that I don't think I've heard I've heard they tried to go punk on the new album. I've heard Oleander's new song more than I've heard anything from Foo Fighters, and Oleander didn't even make a full album, they released one song and everything. Yeah, but it was fantastic. I always it was a great show. Thank you, Liv. Um, thank you, Foo, and thank you, uh Queens of the Stone Age. Fantastic. I will go see those guys. I will go see those guys from here on out. Foo, if I can get decent seats, which it ended up being. Um that's the part I was jealous of. You guys were in a good spot. Yeah, and we could have been right there, right at the stage, because uh like they had the setup like uh Muse where it came out like a T. Yeah. Nobody used that. Um Queens used it once and he did a solo.
SPEAKER_02He laid down and did a solo on the speakers. And then Dave did it. Dave is known for running out, singing to us, getting everybody to chant. He's old now. He did it twice. And then and then he did the thing where they put everybody just came to the front.
SPEAKER_01So we literally could have been like the second person from it because we had we had, but we were like we were at that back of the little pit stuff, yeah, and it just was comfortable. And we were like, let's just stay back here. He's close enough as it is. Like if they I thought they were gonna come out a little more, but they so a lot of my footage I had to zoom in because they stayed at the back of the stage. But fantastic. And I like I said, I think they have the same guy who did the museum, whatever companies do in those light shows, it's like I can tell because it feels the same and it feels super high end, and they're using equipment that other bands just can't afford. That muse show is such a visual spectacle. And to see, you know, I I think Dave saw it too and was like, we're using those guys because it was obvious they they used their stuff in there's something like with Stadium Rock specifically, like you need to like really make it an experience. But man, I shit. I think I talked too much about that. We didn't even talk about a word. That's okay. I feel like I got ratioed to be fair. Like, ratioed was tough because we couldn't go into our name three times or whatever. Three times you've been ratioed. Because one, we don't get ratioed because we don't say stupid stuff on the internet, we try not to say stupid stuff on the internet. We shouldn't say stupid stuff on the internet, or also, like, if we got into three times where we've seen people be ratioed, I feel like we'd get too far down that rabbit hole that we don't need to get down as much. You know, you know, like we always kid and be silly with stuff and talk about like you know, this isn't a learning podcast or whatever. But honestly, this word I feel like I kind of learned a little bit. You know what's funny? Me? Kind of a math term, and you hate math, especially on this show. Yeah, it totally is. And that should have been my second thing I would have I should have gone into, but goddamn Uncle Jesse and his ratio. Oh, that's who it was. Yeah. I've spent so little time with Jesse that I don't know. We poured him a drink and and they were like, make sure you get make sure you get the pour right. Or I don't know if Jen said something about the ratio, and he's like, Ain't no ratio. Only ratio is glug glug glug. And that's the way Uncle Jesse talks. To be fair, we would like to point out that is not uh Uncle Jesse from uh what's that show called? Full House. Full House. Your show? You couldn't remember Full House? No, I couldn't, honestly. Alright. I'm still I'm still sad about Dennis Haskins dying. I don't know who that is. Mr. Belding. Screech? Mr. Belding. I've served Mr. Belding before. Oh, here we go. No, I don't have a story to it. Did you yell at him? No, because I love Mr. Belding. And he didn't ask me for a fucking caramel macchiato. Anyway. Yeah. Uh good word. Good word. Yeah, thank you. Uh good episode. Talked about some some current events and such, which is nice. Super current, in that we'll be posting this in two days. So yeah. Wait. And go Dodgers. So our next episode, should we film two versions where I'm super happy and super angry? I mean, it's probably the smart thing to do, but no. Okay, let's go with happy because I don't want to film two episodes. What? Um, yeah, so like if you want to keep watching baseball, I guess root for the Dodgers because nobody's gonna watch if the other three teams make it. Uh, but I would prefer you all just switch to hockey right now. Get on board, get on the bandwagon, people. I would prefer them to like and subscribe and maybe share this podcast. Oh, yeah, do that too. That's kind of important. Give us a better uh ratio of non-subscribers to subscribers.
SPEAKER_02Or like anybody's out there and you see an example of it, like you know, take a screenshot and send it to us or tag us in it.
SPEAKER_01That would be awesome. Because I'm gonna be looking for them now, so I might post a couple when this uh when this goes live. Yeah. Especially if it's one of our comments that we get ratioed on. So tech pro. You're kind of a tech pro. What did it get called this week? It wasn't artificial intelligence. What was it? Oh, they change it, he's trying to change it to super intelligence or something stupid. Yeah, America intelligence. All right, all right, all right. Let's let's jump down off the soapbox and get out of here before we slip down the soapbox. We're this guy's Matt. And he's Dan. This is Hangout Your Slingout, and thanks for being here again. The number one slang podcast. In my heart. Yeah. In the only world I care about, and in all of your hearts. We'll see you later, slingers. Thank you. And that's my dog snoring, by the way. It's not him snorting. You'll know. Yeah, you'll know. There's a little bit of the shit dunker. I guess I wasn't set up. To be fair, like if you do that after we start the episode. It looks awesome. No, just don't. Don't do it. I'll just cut it. No one will know.
SPEAKER_02So they might start.
SPEAKER_01Why? Because now they're genetically required to.
SPEAKER_02What did I just do?
SPEAKER_01So you remember when you were talking about cutting part of the episode? I didn't think it was gonna be this much, but you're gonna have to cut a lot of episodes.
SPEAKER_02Well, doesn't this look kind of cool?
SPEAKER_01I remember my first time. We're talking about we're talking about baseball, right? Dude, knock over Marty. Have a tough day today, bud.
SPEAKER_02I even got it on the strobe.
SPEAKER_01Apparently, that's like, oh, I don't know. Let's just turn it off. Let's start over. Go Dodgers. Put your lights down first and then we'll start over. Like, figure that part out.
SPEAKER_02Easy as pie. Is pi really easy though? Pi, E equals M T squared?
SPEAKER_01That is not pi. All right. For real. Okay.
