PPH- Offshore On Our Mind

Alliance for Affordable Energy

Join our guests Helen Rose Patterson of the National Wildlife Federation and Jenny Netherton of the Southeastern Wind Coalition as we discuss the timeline and steps necessary to develop offshore wind energy resources in the Gulf - from constructing the wind turbines to hooking them up to the grid; all while providing great jobs to Louisiana workers.

There are currently only seven offshore wind turbines operating in the United States. Upcoming offshore leases in the Gulf are set to kick off a boom of development, but it will take 7 to 10 years to get any turbines up and running. Helen Rose and Jenny talk about the steps we need to take do now to ensure that Louisiana continues to leverage our experience in offshore innovation.
