Philippians 4:4-9 (NIV) Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.



√ The battle for peace begins in our minds. 

Philippians 4:8 (NIV) Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Isaiah 26:3 (NLT) You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

Proverbs 3:5 (NIV) Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding...

 

√ Peace isn’t the absence of problems, it’s the presence of Jesus. 

Philippians 4:9 (NIV) And the God of peace will be with you.

Psalm 23:4 (GNT) Even if I go through the deepest darkness, I will not be afraid, Lord, for you are with me. Your shepherd's rod and staff protect me.

John 14:27 (NLT) I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.

 


THE PROMISE OF PEACE

 

I. WALK IN THE WAYS OF GOD. 

Philippians 4:8 (NIV) Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice.

Proverbs 16:7 (NLT) When people’s lives please the Lord, even their enemies are at peace with them.


II. SUBMIT TO THE WILL OF GOD.

Isaiah 9:6 (NIV) For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 

 

Sar: Lord, chief, general, the one in charge.Shalom: Rest, tranquility, wholeness, contentment. 

 

I Peter 5:6-7 (NLT) So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.


III. OPERATE IN THE POWER OF GOD.

Psalm 46:1-2 (NLT) God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea.

Psalm 29:11 (GNT) The Lord gives strength to his people and blesses them with peace.
