Hi, this is Larry Wilson, and this is how to Talk to Humans. This is the podcast that shows you how to improve your communication skills. Are you looking to get a better job? Are you looking to find a relationship? Are you trying to do things in your life that have frustrated you and eluded you so far? I can show you so easily how to change that. Now I can only do it with humans. If you're looking to deal with vampires or zombies, extraterrestrials, this is not the show for you. But if you're really looking to improve your communication skills, I can show you what I've learned from 40 years in show business working with the biggest celebrities and superstars in the world. And their secrets are unbelievable. What I'm going to be teaching you during the course of this podcast every week are tools that you can use to communicate toward success. Hi, this is Larry Wilson. Thanks again for joining me here on how to Talk to Humans. It has been brought to my attention that some people have wondered really why this Wilson Method training of mine is any different. And there must be a hundred other avenues you could pursue to learn this. And on this podcast I try to share things that I think are easy to implement, that you can use immediately to improve your communication and see clear results. I usually do this training on a corporate level. I do two day boot camps that are very immersive, highly intensive, limited, just 10 people. But I wanted to address that question here about what makes Wilson Method different, I think, than any other communications training in the world. And you can tell me if you agree or you disagree. I'm always eager to hear what people have to say. I think first and foremost, people have a tendency to want to make things seem more complicated than they really are. And so I've heard some people with some very confusing and elaborate trainings that demand years of investment of your time as well as money, of course. And sometimes they are so byzantine that even I can't follow what they're really trying to make as a point. Sometimes they're well meaning, I think, but I cannot really perceive what's supposed to be at hand. By the same token, there are other people who I've seen on YouTube a couple of examples that have some fantastic information, really clear and really useful, very practical, but they do not show you how to implement it. You can look at a training and you can say, yeah, I see, that makes sense. Yeah, that's right. But now I need you to show me. Frequently I'll use analogies to simple things like sports or cooking or things like that. When I was young, I visited Mont St. Michel in France. And one of the things that Mont St. Michel was they were very famous for these omelets they cooked. And as a young person, I got up early in the morning and went in to the kitchens where they were preparing these omelets and saw that they beat lots of eggs with a whisk and they really beat them vigorously for quite a while. And it made an impression on me. I make a pretty good omelet to this day, but it's because I really whisk those eggs vigorously for quite some time now. It's one thing for someone to tell you, oh, when you make an egg, you make an omelet, you want to make sure the eggs are beaten. That's one thing. It's very different if you show us exactly how to implement what we're talking about. And this is again something that I find I do that I find missing from a lot of other trainings. If there was one thing in particular that makes Wilson Method different than anything else in the world, I think it's because I lived so many of the things that I'm teaching. I learned them by seeing the masters employing them. I don't mean to suggest that you have to look to show business to find these secrets. It so happens that's where I found them. I saw the people who I think are the best communicators in the world. It doesn't mean that you're automatically a great communicator if you're in show business. It's filled with people who cannot even order a simple sandwich in a restaurant. But the people who I saw, who were superstars, who were as big as can be, who are Academy Award winning actors and actresses, the ones who were enormously successful, I saw how they used these specific techniques to communicate and I realized right away, oh, this stuff is easy. Well, that's enormously appealing. If I tell you I can teach you how to be a championship pole vaulter now all you have to do is get up at 3am every morning and, you know, drink these protein powders and then spend the next 10 hours leaping in the air. Yeah, I guess you could say, well, I see how to do it, but that's not easy. I couldn't do that. I want something that anyone can do. I want something that's easy to do and I want something that really works. That's really all I'm looking for. And that's what I found that all these superstars were using in their communication. The fact That I had access to them, that I. Some of them, I've pointed this out before, some of them, it was very clear they did not know what they were doing. They were just working on instinct. Maybe they'd seen somebody do something when they were young, I don't know. But sometimes I would ask them, say when you were talking to so and so, you did such and such, and they clearly didn't know what I was talking about. So I would just model their behavior. I didn't know why they were doing it, I didn't know what exactly. So I just have to model. But then there were plenty of others who knew exactly what they were doing. It was crystal clear that it was a conscious choice to communicate in a certain way that made other people want to invest in them. Personally, professionally, spiritually, culturally. It encouraged other people to want to be invested in them. And I saw how easy it was to do. Now sometimes I would think, it can't be this simple. And I would try to find some more complicated explanation. It always comes back to simple is best if it has to be gussied up with complex explanations and difficult to understand rationalizations. I have an alarm that goes off in my head when I hear this because I think nothing in my life I've never encountered anything that was so complex that it couldn't be explained in a simple way. Now, there might be an exception if you get into things like mathematics or higher degrees of science that are way beyond my comprehension. Perhaps those require that. But I'll bet if you're trained in those pursuits in mathematics or in physics or chemistry things, I bet if you're trained in them so that you have the vocabulary to discuss those, then I'll bet anything can be explained easily. Because I don't see any way you could teach them to people if you couldn't. And you know, it's. It's funny because as I say this, I realize there are all kinds of teachers you'll meet through your life. I consider myself an expert at communications. But I consider my great value, my expertise in transferring this information. I think I do a better job than anyone I've met in making these ideas, concepts, techniques easy to understand and easy to implement. And the fact that I can tell you where I learned them and from whom I learned them and why they thought they worked, why I think they work makes it a very down to earth practical experience. The truth is, you certainly don't need me to learn to do this. You could learn it the way I learned it, by trial and error. You know, you could go stumbling around and there's nothing wrong with that. But the idea that I could save you, this enormously steep learning curve, how many years is that? 10 years? 15 years? 20 years? I might be saving you. I have students who've trained with me who've said they've been working for 10 years with various different people not able to achieve the result that they did training with me. It doesn't mean I'm the smartest, it doesn't mean I'm the best. I think truthfully, what it means is that for some people I'm a really good match. But if you're listening to me and you feel like it doesn't make sense or it doesn't, well, then obviously I'm not the right match for you. But I think for a lot of people who see that there are things missing from their lives and they have a vague feeling that it must be something small, must be something subtle that they're not able to do well, I would posit the idea that that's their communication skills and that by working on them gradually, continually making them a regular part of your day to day life, you will see extraordinary results and you will find that things you thought formally were impossible are now easily achieved. At least that's what I think. Thanks again for joining me here on this podcast. I hope that if you find this valuable, you'll share it with your friends, family, enemies, anyone you care to share it with, because I'd like to reach the largest audience I possibly can.
