Heart to Heart:
Jodi Silverman is a certified life coach who’s here to walk beside you with encouragement and support. That said, she’s not a therapist or medical professional. If you’re facing something that needs clinical care or deeper healing, please don’t hesitate to connect with a trusted therapist or healthcare provider. You’re not alone, and you’re so worth that kind of care.

How do you maintain a balance between granting your adult child independence, ensuring their safety, and your peace of mind?
In today’s re-release episode, we have a roundtable with guests who are members of the Moms Who Double Dare community. We chat about our experiences with setting reasonable boundaries with our adult children while respecting their newfound independence, especially when it comes to late-night comings and goings.
This conversation amongst friends shows the essence of parenting adult children—finding the middle ground where mutual respect and understanding flourish. We had a conversation that was open, respectful, and considerate of everyone's needs.
We recognized as parents the importance of not imposing rules randomly but instead engaging in a dialogue that accepts our children’s independence while addressing their concerns. It's a testament to the delicate art of parenting adult children—balancing authority with understanding, rules with freedom, and love with practicality.
As parents, it's crucial to understand that setting boundaries doesn't diminish the love we have for our children; it's an expression of that love. It's about teaching them responsibility, respect for others, and self-discipline—values that are integral to adulthood.
