He became homeless and lived hopelessly with his substance use disorder and mental health issues for 25 years. He completed college, has become a licensed counselor, and works with others suffering from mental illnesses and substance use disorders. He works for a large behavioral healthcare organization and helps Veterans daily, which was a goal for him to be of service to Veterans.
