In this episode I draw from the book, "Black Elk Speaks" to help frame, in a new way or a new light, ways to look at a perceived trauma. Trauma is seen by many in the addiction field to be at the root of addiction behaviors. We are never upset over a fact, we are upset over our interpretation of a fact and our interpretation of a fact greatly shifts when viewed through the concepts put forth by Black Elk, a holy man of the Oglala Lakota People.
