Persistence in Prayer with Kylie Hein
Welcome to the Persistence in Prayer podcast—where Catholic women who feel pulled in a million directions stop overthinking, deepen their faith, and reclaim peace through prayer, mindset, and spiritual growth.
Are you constantly chasing productivity but feel like your soul is running on empty?
Do you long to hear God's voice in the middle of your packed schedule and mental clutter?
You're not alone.
Hosted by Catholic Mindset Coach, wife, mom, and speaker Kylie Hein, this podcast helps overwhelmed Catholic women create more space for God in their lives so they can pray with purpose and live with peace.
Each episode brings you simple spiritual practices, real-life stories, honest conversations, and Catholic tools rooted in Church teaching—including topics like:
- how to pray when you're distracted or stressed
- how to make God the center of your day (not just an add-on)
- spiritual strategies for anxiety, discernment, and decision fatigue
- practical ways to grow in trust, surrender, and clarity of purpose
Whether you're in a spiritual valley or on a mountain top, there's a place for you here.
It’s time to quiet the noise, begin again, and discover the freedom that comes from persistence in prayer.
Because a well-ordered soul leads to a well-loved life.

#59 More Energy - Working Genius with Karyn Macfarlane
Do you ever wonder why sometimes you can work at a job and feel completely burnout one day and completely energized the next?
In this episode my guest, Karyn Macfarlane is going to give you some new language to describe and understand how you can find more energy throughout the day in your work and in your home.
Karyn, a coach and the wife of a performing artist, shares her journey of becoming a coach to support spouses of professionals, inspired by her own experiences. She talks about the unique challenges faced by spouses of musicians, akin to those in athletics, and how coaching helped her realize the importance of sharing her insights. She then walks us through the "Working Genius" model created by Patrick Lencioni and his team.
Working Genius identifies six areas of work necessary for any project: Wonder, Invention, Discernment, Galvanizing, Enablement, and Tenacity (WIDGET). We discuss each stage, its significance, and how different people thrive in different areas. They highlight how recognizing one's own and others' working geniuses can enhance productivity and satisfaction in both personal and professional life. The episode emphasizes the model's practicality, its alignment with Catholic faith, and its ability to reduce frustration and burnout by helping individuals focus on their strengths and understand their areas of frustration.
As always, we end this epsisode with a quick prayer tip.
