SPEAKER_03

Welcome to another episode of Know Your Limits. I'm Andrew Porter, aka John Lennon. My partner over here is Dak Miller, aka Gringo Star. And we're coming to you with another episode of Know Your Limits. Make sure that you hit those likes and subscribe buttons. Our follower count is low, and we're trying to get them up. So please.

SPEAKER_01

Do we have a like and subscribe button?

SPEAKER_03

We should. Links in the bio, all right? You know. Hit it if it's there. Yeah. If it's not, then that's on that's on us, and we'll get to it. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

John Lennon.

SPEAKER_03

John Lennon.

SPEAKER_01

Nice. Nice name.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Nice outfit.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah. I was trying to think think of a better one for you than Gringo Star, but it was the closest I could get. It works. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I I like them. All right, cool.

SPEAKER_03

Another episode. We're going to be going over river floats, World Cup thoughts, and some news in Lancaster, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so you were floating the other day?

SPEAKER_03

I was. We went down the Conestoga, uh, went in at Pearlman Park, came out at Conestoga Pines. It's a nice little four-hour float. It's a bit long, uh, if you ask me. Uh four-hour float. Yeah, but that long. Well, the problem is as soon as you hit the Lancaster Country Club section, uh you hit a bunch of grass that's in the in the water, water grass. I don't know how to describe it. We'll but that we'll put that in post. And you kind of just come to a standstill. Yeah. So the last hour and a half is like just the one tiny little section.

SPEAKER_01

It rained the day before, but it wasn't flowing that it was not a fast no, no. It was not flowing strong.

SPEAKER_03

No, and I was okay, but I did hear from some people that it was pretty chilly in the water. I run a little hot, so I didn't really have that issue. But um I I did hear from uh some of the ladies that went that it was it was fairly satad chilly.

SPEAKER_01

Don't get me started on that. Um well they should go this weekend then.

SPEAKER_03

I told them that they should have brought a sweatshirt.

SPEAKER_01

To wear in the water. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, whatever. That was the running joke. Yeah. Okay. Or a wetsuit.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Shout out to Ben for organizing that. We're gonna be doing a couple of those this uh summer. It's always a fun time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, he does organize a bunch of them.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I've never been invited.

SPEAKER_03

You were invited this time. By me.

SPEAKER_01

Not by Ben. I don't want a third party invite. Well I want the invite that Ben sends out, probably with fireworks and at your front door.

SPEAKER_03

You weren't on the text message with like 25 different people?

SPEAKER_01

No. Dang. Oh, why'd you have to say that there were 25 people in it? Now I feel even worse.

SPEAKER_03

Well, we'll get you on the text uh on the text thread for the next one for sure.

SPEAKER_01

No, he knows I wouldn't come. Um I would, but I if I don't know what I was doing. Stars have to have to do something, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It works. I get it. You've got a family, you know.

SPEAKER_01

But you know, you guys had fun.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Um what's a what what's something if you had to bring one thing on a river float, what would it be, do you think?

SPEAKER_01

If I had to bring one thing, uh are we is this a survival thing or is this just uh a fun thing.

SPEAKER_03

We'll go fun for it.

SPEAKER_01

Four hour float? Yes. I'd probably bring a fishing rod.

SPEAKER_03

We had that was discussed actually because people said no. Well, Bryant was thinking about bringing his and I did have uh I did have a duck runner in my uh truck that I was thinking about bringing, but uh a lot of plastic with with hooks um just seemed like a potential disaster.

SPEAKER_01

I think that I would just bring one I'd bring the rod and probably just already have it rigged up with a plastic bait. No extra hooks. If you get snagged, you're done.

SPEAKER_03

Gotcha.

SPEAKER_01

Sort of thing. Like not fully tackled. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Golden ball.

SPEAKER_01

So maybe have an extra bait if like the bait would come off or the fit you'd catch a fish and it'd take the bait off. But you just throw that in a bag, just plastic worm. Yeah. But yeah, if you lose the hook, you're just done.

SPEAKER_03

That's well, but then you gotta float with the rod for the rest of the time.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's fine. Okay, all right. Yeah, it would be a small, like probably like a Malcolm size rod.

SPEAKER_03

Gotcha. Well, we also had uh Fleman and Nick uh uh showed up and they always bring the inflatable canoe. So that was cool. Yeah. So they didn't have rods? No, no rods for them. Yeah. They bring rods on an actual boat.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. They fish a lot.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Quick debate is floating the Conestoga relaxing or is it just slow motion survival?

SPEAKER_01

Relaxing, I'd say.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I mean, if it that's be it'd be a bigger question if it was on the Susquehanna, but like, worst case scenario, your float pops and you could just walk the rest of the thing. Yeah, it's it's all standable. For the most part. There's a couple spots by the bridges that are six to eight feet. Yeah. There's a I think there's like one ten-foot spot probably, but other than that. See, that's where you drop the rod in. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, there's something down there. Um, I think my well, I mean, I did bring some uh emergency uh glizzies. I did bring some hot dogs. Uh that was good. You brought hot dogs on a float? Yeah, it was great actually. Um and then sunscreen is probably my biggest one because I have gotten real bad, uh gotten real bad on a float before. So that's probably my number one thing. Well you're stuck out there. You can't really just no. It was cloudy the whole time and I still got burnt. So is what it is. That'd be my number one. It's awesome. Sounds like fun though. Yeah, for sure. Well, we'll invite you next time. You won't come. Thank you. Um, what else? You do you do anything fun over the weekend? You go to a wedding or something?

SPEAKER_01

I did go to a wedding, actually. Jeez, that every week I'm like, what did I do? Oh, yeah. You went to a wedding. Um, I went to a wedding on Saturday at Sugar Loaf Golf Club. It was great. That sounds nice. Um, yeah, it was fun. And there was a pond right next to the venue that I caught four fish out of.

SPEAKER_03

Nice.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Personal best on the bluegill, it sounded like that was ridiculous.

SPEAKER_01

I thought I thought it I was like, what is this when I pulled it out?

SPEAKER_03

Well, because it's yeah, they're fighters.

SPEAKER_01

And obviously it's just a bluegill, but it was over 10 inches, which is crazy.

SPEAKER_03

Nice.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Perfect.

SPEAKER_01

So the other three were bass, small bass.

SPEAKER_03

So how if uh what's your tally up to on the road to a hundred?

SPEAKER_01

Uh, I think it's like fourteen. Okay. I haven't really got a lot of things. I think that's double the last time we talked about it though. In like I haven't really done anything in like a couple probably a month, I haven't really fished. I would go through spurts.

SPEAKER_03

That's why you brought it to the wedding.

SPEAKER_01

I'll go like yeah, exactly. Well, I always have the rod in my car. And every time you go to a wedding, if you fish at all, you should just have a rod in your car because there's always a good pond. Yeah. Especially on golf courses.

SPEAKER_03

Well, and in between the ceremony and the um reception, there's always some downtime if you're not in the wedding doing pictures where everybody's kind of just standing around looking at each other's feet. Um, good choice for sure.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it also depends on what wedding you're going to. Like this was a wedding that was my wife's friends.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So I could get away for a half an hour to fish. Yeah. If it's a wedding where my wife doesn't know anybody, might as well not bring the rod.

SPEAKER_03

Well, yeah, I mean, you're not you know you gotta bring a rod for her then.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I even if you suggest let's go walk for a nice walk down to the water, she knows what I'm trying to pull.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, she knows you.

SPEAKER_01

She's not stupid.

SPEAKER_03

She married you.

SPEAKER_01

So it was uh I I look forward to uh the next wedding next to all her high school friends.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, cool. When's that?

SPEAKER_01

Well, that one's we just went to that one.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, okay, okay.

SPEAKER_01

But I think there's another one coming up.

SPEAKER_03

Nice.

SPEAKER_01

We have like six weddings this year. Jeez. I know, it's crazy.

SPEAKER_03

That's a good uh that's a good catalog.

SPEAKER_01

2026 is just all weddings.

SPEAKER_03

Hey, we love love here.

SPEAKER_01

Uncle Mark loves that statement. I saw him that last Friday and he was like, I love when Porter was like, I just love love.

SPEAKER_03

Who doesn't? Who doesn't love to see two young kids making a lifetime decision together, you know?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Right? There's nothing like it, really.

SPEAKER_01

I love it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Let's tie each other at the hip. What else do we got? I don't know. You made the sheet. I definitely didn't. Um what did I do this weekend? You went on a float. I went on a float, and then what else did you do? I'm sure that I'm gonna get flacked for this because I'm just completely blanking on what we did Saturday, and I'm sure it was fun. Oh well. Um Did you run or anything?

SPEAKER_01

You're training for your marathon.

SPEAKER_03

I did do our first four mile run. That was fun. I I'm kind of in this in-between zone where my phone says that I've ran longer than my watch says that I've ran, and I don't know which one to follow. But I've been following the one that's less distance.

SPEAKER_01

So that's they both GPS.

SPEAKER_03

Exactly my point. But if it says that I've run three miles on the Strava on my phone, on my Strava on my watch, it says that I've ran 2.8. So it's very odd.

SPEAKER_01

We need to get to the bottom of that.

SPEAKER_03

We'll have to find out. Strava.

SPEAKER_01

I would say that the phone GPS might be better.

SPEAKER_03

Than the wrist GPS.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Huh.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I mean, I would just think, because you I mean, GPS is a huge thing with your phone, directions and everything.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I would assume it's the same technology. I am completely making this up.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Because I don't know, but I would just imagine that a $1,500 phone would have a better GPS signal than a hundred dollar watch, but maybe not.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but it also I see that's the thing. I'm using a fit, it's a it's a cheap Fitbit. There's nothing wrong with that. But you know, I guess if I went with like the $500 Garmin, it might do better, but it might not.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Who knows? The phone could be off.

SPEAKER_03

Who knows? Well, we're getting the training.

SPEAKER_01

Who knows? Like, if uh I think that the only thing that could be different is is one of them more specific? Like, is the GPS on the phone go like straight as if you're driving a car? That's correct. And then does the the watch follow you if you cut a corner of a road?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, the watch the uh so it uh gives you like the outline of your run, and the watch one is all the So maybe the watch is actually more of an accurate one. I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_01

We could find this out pretty quickly. We could, I would imagine.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Um I got a three-mile run scheduled for today. It's gonna be a hot one. It's gonna be a hot one all week, guys. So make sure that you uh prepare accordingly, drink a lot of water, don't stay out in the sun too long, watch your dog's feet, you know, all that kind of good stuff. So when it does that, your Strava, does it upload them both or does it it does upload them both, which is kind of also like it says that I'm running that I ran twice.

SPEAKER_01

Why can't you link your Fitbit to your Strava?

unknown

I do have it linked.

SPEAKER_03

That's the weird. So I start the run. I I'm kind of paranoid because I like to see the run, and I'm always scared that I'm gonna start the run on my watch and then it's gonna stop halfway through, and I'm not gonna recognize that. Uh, but then that does end up looking like I ran twice at the same time in the same day. Which I'm not here to boost my numbers or anything. I just like to see what I'm doing to keep track of.

SPEAKER_01

I was kind of right, actually. It says the wrist GPS is signal is a little bit weaker. It says Fitbit smooths out your route and the connected GPS to your phone would get every little thing.

SPEAKER_03

Well, see, I'm having the opposite issue.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you're getting less on the watch. So it'll if so if you say you did take a turn, Fitbit might go straight there when it calculates it.

SPEAKER_03

We'll have to check it out. Who knows?

SPEAKER_01

It says Fitbit smooths out your route more aggressively. Fitbit may clean that up and draw a straighter path.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, see, that's my issue. Which makes it a shorter distance. The phone is showing the smoother path. Very, you know, straight line oriented.

SPEAKER_01

In Strava though?

SPEAKER_03

In Strava. Whereas the Fitbit in Strava that it's connected to is showing a much more Are you sure the Strava doesn't have them confused? Yes, because I know that I finish the run and it uploads the run from my phone immediately, and then it takes about five minutes for it to upload through the Fitbit.

SPEAKER_01

This could be it. If GPS is weak, Fitbit may blend steps, step count, and your stride.

SPEAKER_03

Damn you, T-Mobile.

SPEAKER_01

Distance will be lower if it does that.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you're using T-Mobile on your phone.

SPEAKER_03

I know. But I'm I'm running the further one anyway. So no matter what I'm scared. Could be. And that could be me and my $100 Fitbit.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It probably is.

SPEAKER_01

I would just think that the phone's better.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. All right.

SPEAKER_01

But who knows?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, well.

SPEAKER_01

You have to ask. Ain't no telling, not knowing. And and Fitbit's owned by Google, so they probably want you to have a Google phone.

SPEAKER_03

That's probably true. Probably records it more accurately. What can you do? What can you do?

SPEAKER_01

Well, you could just use one.

SPEAKER_03

I guess that's true.

SPEAKER_01

So do you start it in the app and start it on your watch?

SPEAKER_03

No, it automatically detects when I start running on my watch. So maybe there's that's the two point two miles. Maybe it takes a little bit.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, but when it goes into your phone on Strava, does it give you two time two things that you ran? Yeah. Oh. Maybe don't track it with both.

SPEAKER_03

That's probably gonna be the the move moving forward.

SPEAKER_01

You probably used to just track it with your phone. Yes, before I got that.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, and then I've kind of just been in the in the habit of continuing to do it on my phone. Makes sense.

SPEAKER_01

They all use different ten technologies. Like I used to wear the whoop and then I had a garment that I wore at the same time.

SPEAKER_03

Wow.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it was when I got this. I wanted to see the difference in the steps. The steps were always different, and especially on the phone, but I usually have my phone in my pocket. But on the phone, it would always think that it had like 22,000 steps when this would say like 14.

SPEAKER_03

Oh wow.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so there was a large difference. That is big difference. So then I was wearing the garment and that that were pretty close to the wrist wearables. But the phone must pick up something. Like every little thing. I think the moving my leg or something.

SPEAKER_03

Or when you're pulling out of a parking space, you know, kind of thing, before you're going enough for it to be like, oh, it's driving.

SPEAKER_01

Like there's no pedometer in this whoop. It estimates it based off of movement and the GPS. Gotcha. So you have to like if you're even cleaning your house, it's not gonna track all those steps typically. Because it has to recognize it going for a certain amount of time.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So if you start like if you start an activity in the Whoop that you're running, it'll start it right away. But if you do it while you're cleaning your house, it's still not gonna recognize the steps because it no it doesn't have that contest. That makes sense.

SPEAKER_03

That makes sense. We totally forgot to talk about uh marathon training, so that was uh impromptu. We'll have to bring that back up next week. Next segment World Cup. All right, we already got some Morocco, some underdog stories are brewing. I mean, Morocco's been playing lights out the whole tournament, haven't they? Yeah. I'm talking more about Paraguay. Well, Paraguay too. Paraguay. Well, Germany fell apart on the penalty kicks.

SPEAKER_01

The last two games, Germany hasn't looked good. I think they won the first game, what, seven to one?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, against uh Cabo Wabo or uh and then Curacell.

SPEAKER_01

Did they tie the next two?

SPEAKER_03

Um I'm not positive on that.

SPEAKER_01

They haven't looked the greatest.

SPEAKER_03

No. Um they did get two wins. Oh, they did.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

But the the penalties were wild. They missed three of their final six penalties shots. And Paraguay just, you know, was uh was meant to go meant to go forward, yeah. So we've got Paraguay, Brazil, Canada, and Morocco have advanced to the um round of 16. Um we have uh Mexico and Ecuador tonight. We've got uh the Ivory Coast in Norway uh today, actually.

SPEAKER_01

That's been like it just started, I think.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I think well it's it starts at one. So yeah, it's one just started. Um and then what else do we got? I think we got one more. France and Sweden. So another potential upset, yes. All right, three games today. Uh we've got the U.S. is gonna be playing um tomorrow night. Bosnia and Herzegovina, uh, tomorrow at eight. So I'll definitely be watching that one. Uh you watching that at home?

SPEAKER_01

I think I might go to my parents' house.

SPEAKER_03

Nice. I think I might go to your parents' house.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you can. All right, cool. They're watching it outside. Oh, that's a neighbor's function. All right. With the TV and Barty Boys. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Nice.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

All right, cool. Shout out to the USA.

SPEAKER_01

Um Yeah, we'll see if they can uh come back from their last loss and uh make a statement here in the knockout round.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I mean, while we're here, let's let's just kind of walk through this. You know, who's winning the France and Sweden game?

SPEAKER_01

I would say the two games I watched, France, they looked unbelievable.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I would definitely have to say France is probably gonna be the one to go through on that. Uh what about Spain and Austria? That's a tough one too.

SPEAKER_01

It is.

SPEAKER_03

Because Spain, you know, hasn't also similar to Germany, hasn't looked super dominant.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they had one game. I think Spain's gonna win that.

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm. And uh Portugal, Croatia. I think I'm gonna have to pick an upset on that one. I like Croatia. Yeah, we're gonna have to go with Croatia on that. Portugal's got problems. They do. Obviously, uh USA is going to beat uh Bosnia in my mind.

SPEAKER_01

I sure hope. Yep. I think Senegal is gonna beat Belgium.

SPEAKER_03

All right, and we'll go Senegal over Belgium. Senegal's been good. Well, now what about Colombia and Ghana? That's kind of a more you know, that's a harder one to call.

SPEAKER_01

It's gonna be a great game, fan-wise.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, for sure.

SPEAKER_01

They're gonna go all out.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Ghana is the is the team that has the guy that stands like a statue for the whole game. Which is pretty quick. Oh, really? Yeah, he's like a folk hero and he just stands there um in a statue post.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. I always like Ghana. Nothing against Colombia. I don't really know too much about these two teams, but Ghana usually has a good World Cup showing, I think.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I mean I'd I'd probably rather vacation in Colombia, but as far as a uh World Cup game, we're gonna go with Ghana on that one, I think. Uh what about Algeria and Switzerland?

SPEAKER_01

It's a flip of a coin.

SPEAKER_03

That is a flip of a coin. I'd probably have to go with Switzerland.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, let's go Switzerland.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

We're just gonna do a know your limits pick and we'll re agree on.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we'll Egypt and Australia.

SPEAKER_01

I think Egypt's winning this.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I would I unfortunately Australia has said some negative things towards the United States fans uh and soccer team in general. Uh so I think that that's gonna uh make Egypt take the win over Australia. Also, they have Egypt has uh Salah, correct?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. He is they have a couple good players, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

He's got a little bit more than a lot of people.

SPEAKER_01

And I mean Australia does too, but I think that watching Australia, it looked a little bit more chaotic. They have some big guys that just fly around, and not that that's bad, but I just don't think that they can last with as they get into play these quicker teams that have more control of the ball.

SPEAKER_03

Now, what about the Ivory Coast in Norway? I'm gonna have to go with Holland with my boy with my Viking man.

SPEAKER_01

We can. Ivory Coast is always good.

SPEAKER_03

They are, they are, but I think that Norway's gonna pull that one.

SPEAKER_01

And I think Norway lost their last game by like four, but I don't think they played anybody.

SPEAKER_03

That's correct.

SPEAKER_01

Holland didn't play. I don't think anybody was playing.

SPEAKER_03

Now, here's a Central American matchup. Uh, we have the top of Central America at Mexico versus the bottom of Central America at Ecuador. Who's taking that one?

SPEAKER_01

Man.

SPEAKER_03

Technically both North American teams.

SPEAKER_01

I think Mexico's gonna win.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. We'll go with Mexico. Is Chee is uh Chichorito still playing on that team?

SPEAKER_01

No idea.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. I just know that well, Mexico is a host country too.

SPEAKER_01

We can't. That is correct.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, no, a hundred percent. Uh so they're gonna are they, I wonder if they're playing in Mexico. Uh, does it say on here where they oh actually, yes, they are playing in Mexico. Oh, no, no, no. They don't they don't have it on this one. But if they go to the round of 16, they'll be playing in Mexico City. Okay. So that should be that should be good. Um now, what about uh England is playing who's who's COD? The Democratic Republic of Congo.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Congo Democratico. I'm not sure how that works out. Um I think England wins. I think England takes that one. Uh, yeah. Uh Harry Kane and the boys are gonna take that one. And then uh we've got a potential upset Argentina versus Cabo Verde.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think, no way.

SPEAKER_03

That would be insane. I don't Argentina just doesn't But they do seem like they're the they're just overwhelmingly they seem like they're on a run to the at least the quarterfinals, I think.

SPEAKER_01

Argentina?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well they haven't really lost any national games or worldwide games in like I think six years. Oh wow. They won the Copa in like 2022 and then won the World Cup and then just in 2024. And they won something two years ago. Jeez. They really have not lost much at all as a team.

SPEAKER_03

Well sounds like Argentina's going through on that one.

SPEAKER_01

I'd be surprised if they don't make it to the final four.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. All right. So, real quick, Paraguay, France. I think we gotta go with France on that one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

We've got Brazil, Norway. That's a tough call.

SPEAKER_01

I think Norway.

SPEAKER_03

I would go Norway on that as well. And then we've got uh Canada, Morocco. I think Morocco I'm gonna have to go with Morocco as well. Uh Mexico or England? That's a bit of a tougher matchup. I still think that England takes that though.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Now uh Croatia and Spain. I like Croatia.

SPEAKER_01

Let's do it.

SPEAKER_03

All right, and uh Argentina, Egypt. Again, we gotta go Argentina. Uh USA versus Senegal. We're gonna go with USA.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

For sure. And then lastly, we have Switzerland versus Ghana. I have to go with Ghana on that one, to be honest.

SPEAKER_01

I like Ghana.

SPEAKER_03

All right, cool. Now we are into the quarterfinal Croatia versus the United States. United States.

SPEAKER_01

You gotta go US there.

SPEAKER_03

And then we've got uh Argentina versus Egypt. Argentina. We kinda gotta go with Argentina. We've got nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, sorry. Argentina versus Ghana. Still gotta go with Argentina.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I don't even know if I care who you say is up against Argentina, just with how they've looked so far.

SPEAKER_03

Well, you better you better wait on that one. Because we'll I mean Against the US.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, being real here, do you think the US I can the US can beat Argentina and Messi? And if the United States beats Argentina, do you think Messi becomes a United States citizen?

SPEAKER_03

I would assume that the United States has probably already offered him dual citizenship.

SPEAKER_01

Well, 100%. But and I don't think he'll ever go away from Argentina.

SPEAKER_03

No. You know, at some point he will age out of the Argentina team.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, it could be like kind of how he's playing in the MLS now. At that point, he's a good one. Well, see, the thing is he could still play in any league, I think.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

He has more goals this World Cup than I don't know, than most people do in their world.

SPEAKER_03

I think he's tied for the most right now with Holland, to be honest. Norway versus England.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. I think I just want England to be good. And I think everybody else does.

SPEAKER_03

Sounds like we're going with Norway on that one, though. Now, Morocco or France. That's tough because France and Morocco are really like just neighbors uh across the Mediterranean Sea as well.

SPEAKER_01

I think France is just so cool. But Morocco keeps winning.

SPEAKER_03

That is correct. So that's gonna be a tough one. I think you gotta go with the favorites. France looks unstoppable right now.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Alright. So now we're into the center.

SPEAKER_01

Just remember, we wanted to pick Morocco if they do win.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, for sure. Well, we'll redo this because uh France might not even be in next week's matchup. You have to redo it every week. Yeah. What are we looking at? France versus Norway.

SPEAKER_01

I think France.

SPEAKER_03

France into the final, U.S. versus Argentina. You gotta stick with the hometown boys.

SPEAKER_01

All right, we'll just pick the U.S. to beat France in the World Cup final.

SPEAKER_03

USA beats France in the World Cup final. You heard it here first, folks.

SPEAKER_01

It's absolutely ridiculous.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, let's do it.

SPEAKER_01

You heard it here first.

SPEAKER_03

Hot take. This I will we will be reposting this episode every week for the next year if they win this.

SPEAKER_01

So well, guess what? If it goes how most of our stuff does, they're gonna get smoked by Bosnia.

SPEAKER_03

If it goes how most of our stuff does, every single team that we just picked to win will lose.

SPEAKER_01

And even if we sounded smart about any of the picks, it's just gonna be null and void.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, for sure. Zach, do you have a banger of the week?

SPEAKER_01

Actually, my banger of the week was uh Morocco men's soccer team.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, okay. There's nothing wrong with that. There's nothing wrong with that. I just like what they're doing. Okay. Well then And I like their name. It's fun to say. I do like that. Is that because it sounds like a musical instrument?

SPEAKER_01

Like a Morocca? Yeah. Is that where Moroccas came from?

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. I always thought that was a more of a Spanish instrument, but who knows?

SPEAKER_01

No telling, not knowing.

SPEAKER_03

We'll have to find out. Tune in next week to find out where Maracas come from.

SPEAKER_01

Everybody listening already knows.

SPEAKER_03

Well then I'm gonna double down on that banger of the week and say Cabo Verde.

SPEAKER_01

Mm. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Because if they were able to pull off this upset against Argentina, they are Well, I'd have a lot of respect for them. It'll be their it's their first World Cup draw in like I think they have like 40,000 people on the island. Which is just That's it? I think so. It's a small, small island. Wow.

SPEAKER_01

And 26 are on the team.

SPEAKER_03

They had to shut down the stores.

SPEAKER_01

Good luck getting groceries there this week.

SPEAKER_03

Good luck doing anywhere anything there this week if they beat Argentina, to be completely honest.

SPEAKER_01

Holy heck. All right, cool. Can't even get a soda.

SPEAKER_03

Exactly. All right, you still think that uh you think Messi's on his way to a second golden boot in the World Cup?

SPEAKER_01

It seems like it's just panning out that way. Yeah. I mean he hasn't made he did miss a the crazy thing is he missed a PK.

SPEAKER_03

Well now people are saying that he missed the PK on purpose because Well, I heard that, and I think it was a joke from Ibrahimovich. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_01

That's who said that. Gotcha. Because he was talking about how incredible it is.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Classic.

SPEAKER_01

And then talked about how he's never even scored a goal in the World Cup. Mm-hmm. And then said I'm pretty sure he missed that on purpose because he doesn't want a PK goal added to his goals.

SPEAKER_03

Gotcha.

SPEAKER_01

But that's now it was not saved, it was missed. I actually didn't see it.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I actually didn't see it.

SPEAKER_03

Because if it was missed, then like you do have that argument because like Lionel Messi missing a penalty kick.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think he missed the goal. Who knows? Has he ever before?

SPEAKER_03

I don't think that he ever misses the goal to be completely honest.

SPEAKER_01

But he made a free kick in the same game.

SPEAKER_03

Exactly.

SPEAKER_01

So it doesn't really matter. I mean, that makes up for it.

SPEAKER_03

That's true. But a free kick versus a PK definitely.

SPEAKER_01

Did you see that free kick?

SPEAKER_03

No, I did not. Was it good?

SPEAKER_01

It didn't even really get off the ground. There was a little spot open to the left of the wall. He just skipped it into the corner. He just hit it low, right around the outside of the wall. Goalie never even moved. Goalie never even saw it. Oh, hate to see it. It was unbelievable.

SPEAKER_03

Hate to see it happen.

SPEAKER_01

I'm like, how did they just how did they let this guy just how?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's that's I'd put all 11 people on the block on the line.

SPEAKER_01

Might as well. Yeah. It still might not matter. The goalie's like goalie's watching it, he sees it like as it's going across the line, and he's like, oh.

SPEAKER_03

That's a tough one. That's a tough one. So yeah, World Cup Soccer. Uh we're in the in the uh full swing of it. That should be a lot of fun. It'll be fun to see the uh boys in red, white, and blue uh with all their starters back this uh this Wednesday, and then we'll keep you posted on what's going on and how many of these picks we messed up. Over under 50%. I think we'll be okay. We're gonna say under 50%. Probably 50%.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we're probably gonna be on the negative side of winning.

SPEAKER_03

That's uh, you know, like Thomas and Edison said. Thomas and Edison?

SPEAKER_01

Thomas and Edison.

SPEAKER_03

Like Thomas Edison said, I didn't fail a hundred times at inventing the light bulb. I found 99 ways to not invent the light bulb.

SPEAKER_01

Mmm, I like that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it's not bad.

SPEAKER_01

I like that. Is that the fun fact of the week? That's the fun fact of the week. I got another fun fact.

SPEAKER_03

What's your fun fact?

SPEAKER_01

Um, did you know that an octopus has three hearts? No. And did you know that one stops when it starts swimming?

SPEAKER_03

You would think it'd be the opposite. When it starts swimming.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Huh.

SPEAKER_01

One stops beating while it swims.

SPEAKER_03

That's a good fun fact.

SPEAKER_01

That was from a very reliable source.

SPEAKER_03

All right.

SPEAKER_01

The internet.

SPEAKER_03

Cool. All right. Well, we're gonna try one more real quick. Uh, guy walks into a bar, sits down, pulls out a one-foot-tall man, and sets him on the bar. Pulls out of his pocket a tiny little piano and sets that on the bar. The bartender says, Where'd you get this? He said, There's a genie down the street granting wishes. So the bartender says, Hold on, I'll be right back. The guy comes walking in with a bunch of ducks, and he goes, Why didn't you tell me that this was a terrible genie? I asked him for a million bucks, and he gave me a million ducks. The guy's at the bar is sitting there and says, You really think I asked for a 12-inch pianist?

SPEAKER_01

I love that joke.

SPEAKER_03

Uh anyway.

SPEAKER_01

No, but it's still pretty cool.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Um, should we hit should we hit the uh J and K Salvage quick before we Yeah. We do a little bit of work with the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association, and it looks like there was motions that have just been filed against JK Salvage, who has been illegally operating their automobile scrapyard without a clean water act that's required by the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System. Say that five times fast. Um and they've been doing this for well over a year. So essentially they are a auto salvage place and they're dumping all their stuff right into the Susquehanna. It's probably right near the river, yeah. Yeah. Uh which sounds terrible.

SPEAKER_01

That's not good for float people.

SPEAKER_03

It definitely is not.

SPEAKER_01

Get your float gang on this.

SPEAKER_03

Get your float on. I kind of was like uh flabbergasted by this because I was like, doesn't like who's running the state here that like somebody doesn't show up and be like, hey, you're shutting this down now until you get this taken care of.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah. I mean, I probably have to cut my grass at a certain length. Yeah, like there's people that look at that. Yeah. Why aren't there people looking at this?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um you can find uh out more at low susriverkeeper.org and you can support them there. They do all sorts of stuff. You can find the E. coli readings and which creeks have the highest levels and all that. Um sign up for emails for that. We get those.

SPEAKER_03

If you're doing a float, don't check the readings. Just go float and have fun.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. But it also can help you, like there's some that are like just really bad. Yes. And typically you wouldn't be starting there. I think like where you go is is usually pretty okay.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, yeah, yeah. And it's not the Susquehanna, it's the Conestoga.

SPEAKER_01

Which a lot of the readings are from the tributaries. Oh nice. So they they read them like at the mouths as they come into. All right. And also markers on the s on the Conestoga.

SPEAKER_03

Gotcha. I mean, you know us, guys. We're all about philanthropy here. Um, giving back to the community and doing what we can.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, exactly. All right. So float on.

SPEAKER_03

Float on.

SPEAKER_01

And if you see trash, you know what one thing you should take while you float? And you said you didn't see that much trash, which I'm surprised, and that's great. Bring a bag to put some trash in.

SPEAKER_03

We always bring a bag.

SPEAKER_01

Because people are terrible. People just throw trash in the in the water. I'm not saying you guys, I'm saying people that are just walking by. People just dump trash by the river.

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

Guys, guess what? That's the water you we use. That's what you go home and splash your face with.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I mean, there's we don't, there's not, there's only there's only what we got.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. That's it. And you're also you're just making it harder for people to clean up and get us that clean water. And then we're all upset when, you know, the water costs more or all that stuff happens.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Bring a bag.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe don't throw your kitchen tables and tires in the in the river. Like find a dumpster, maybe.

SPEAKER_03

Be responsible.

SPEAKER_01

Facebook marketplace. Free.

SPEAKER_03

Some accountability.

SPEAKER_01

Free table? Free table. Somebody will be there in two minutes.

SPEAKER_03

Somebody will be there when you press sent.

SPEAKER_01

Free tire? It'll be me. And then we'll sell it for $10.

SPEAKER_03

There we go. Just don't check Facebook Marketplace after I pick it up. I think that pretty much does it for us, right?

SPEAKER_01

Sounds good. All right, cool. I'm ready to rock.

SPEAKER_03

And I'm ready to roll. This has been Know Your Limits. Thanks a lot, guys. Have a good one. See ya. Peace.
