In this episode, Chris and Jason introduce the current Adult Forum book of study, Separation of Church and Hate  by John Fugelsang. This sharp, witty, and thought-provoking book explores how the teachings of Jesus are often misused by religious and political extremists. Fugelsang argues that Christianity, at its core, is meant to be rooted in love, mercy, humility, justice, and service—not fear, control, greed, or hatred. Chris and Jason discuss how the book challenges readers to separate sincere faith from hypocrisy and to reclaim a more compassionate understanding of Christianity.

The Adult Forum takes place every Sunday at 11:00 AM in Room 100 at Otterbein UMC and is open to anyone interested in the open study of the United Methodist faith. This forum offers an opportunity to freely discuss the topics at hand and welcomes all viewpoints as a way to encourage learning, reflection, and discovery.

Rev. Chris Eden is the pastor of Otterbein United Methodist Church and Jason  Burgess is the Media Specialist for OUMC.  These two are happy to present to the congregation and beyond, something to engage the ears and hearts, as well as, mind, body, and spirit.
