You ⁓

Speaker 2 (00:17)
Welcome to USAFBL's fingerboard podcast. I'm your host, Aline Cunningham. Today I've got 27 decks, but more Lenin and Jay.

Speaker 1 (00:25)
Hello. Bye.

Speaker 2 (00:28)
Man, we are live out here in Indianapolis, Indiana. We're at the national event. We've got 27 decks out here, vending. It's a three day weekend event. Lots of stuff going down. We had a great day one yesterday, Friday, today, Saturday morning, right before doors open, getting a couple quick pods, getting the energy. She got us out here to 27 decks. You guys are local to me right here in Indianapolis. So let's talk about that, because I first I don't think I've met you guys beforehand, have I?

Speaker 1 (00:49)
the

the ⁓

⁓ So we started a year ago and really I got it as a Christmas gift for me just for kind of a creative outlet so I had something to like kind of show my art and stuff that I did and kind of about like halfway through like six months in I kind of got into the selling and I was like started to do laser engraving and took a lot more professional. ⁓ There was a lot of process and error though so.

Speaker 2 (01:53)
that that

Speaker 1 (02:06)
It's real hard.

So there is four different shapes and two different molds. Currently we do plan to make more in the future. Probably gonna go for like a lower mold in the future, maybe like a 20 degree kick angle or something like that. Right now we have two molds, the 24 kick angle on both sides and then the 27 angle kick on both sides to match the brand kind of. And then we have four shapes, the router which is a twin tail, the panda sander.

which is 35 millimeter and has, it's basically like an egg shape. And then there's a symmetrical popsicle shape. It's called the 18th. And then the box cutter, which is my favorite by far. Basically just a real like boxy deck.

Speaker 2 (03:02)
the you are really into a lot of different size shapes, variations, things like that. love it. What is like your personal favorite deck and shape from 27 decks? Like if someone was going to buy their first deck, what would you recommend for them?

Speaker 1 (03:22)
I like the egg shape. I think it has just a nice feel to it. It's easy to land on. It's pretty controlled and pretty simple.

Speaker 2 (03:34)
What is like how did the name come about 27 text seems very specific not 28 not 26 but 27.

Speaker 1 (03:42)
I've been waiting for this question. I've been waiting for it. So 27 decks, we were originally just going to do the numbers, but we wanted to stand out a little more, so we just did the 20. 27 is kind of behind the 27 club, so like Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, that's why we actually have a Jimi Hendrix graphic. I show it real Yeah, of course. So, I don't know if he too, let me get the...

Speaker 2 (03:46)
glad I'm here for

Speaker 1 (04:13)
⁓ the Jimmy Hendrix graphic though. Yeah But it's a panda just basically as Jimmy Hendrix ⁓ Holding it in the left hand just like him too ⁓ Also with that my dad's birthday is February 7th and my birthday is April 27th, so So those are all the things behind it

Speaker 2 (04:39)
I could

Interesting, OK. You got any future projects? Anything you want to leak on the pod?

Speaker 1 (04:48)
Right now there's not a ton. I know I'm gonna try and get a 29 millimeter fingerboard and also I'm gonna try and get into the 36 get egg version of the 36. Yeah the big ones.

⁓ I shout out my friend Jay. He's out here helping me vend ⁓ both days ⁓ since we're not really making Sunday such a big deal. And then also shout out to my parents. ⁓ Kittle Timber is my dad's business. They helped a lot though. Packaging, all the display back here, even some of the graphics too. yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:31)
Right on. Well, Jay, Lennon, appreciate you hopping on the pod real quick. Taking a little bit of time before the doors open for today's Saturday National Event. Man, it's been fun. Until next time.

Speaker 1 (05:40)
Yeah, it has this.
