Welcome to USAFBL Fingerboard Podcast. I'm your host of Mike Cunningham and today I've got Chris, Chris with LC Boards, known as LC.Boards on Instagram. Chris, welcome to the pod. How you been?
speaker-1 (00:17.71)
I've been really good, Aline. Stoked to be here chatting with you today. Talk about some fingerboards.
speaker-0 (00:24.074)
Man, for those that don't know, Chris is definitely one of your premier entry level experts as far as getting you into the hobby. He carries pro gear, entry level gear. And if you are into any of the other side miniatures like the windsurf boards, the mini scooters, mini skis, mini skates like Chris here, he's your guy.
speaker-1 (00:48.494)
Yeah, we've had quite a bit of fun branching out our products as far as we can, basically. Obviously our main function is finger boards, but lately we've been getting into the scooters quite a bit, carrying the Envy scooters. Those are a great product. We've done a lot of bikes, from BMX bikes to mountain bikes and skis and snowboards and...
ramps and I really just like anything miniature that kind of recreates stuff from real life or from real sports that I like to do.
speaker-0 (01:26.606)
What I like about what you've been doing is that you've adopted all of these little mini categories and you brought this cool vibe, this culture behind it. It's not like you're just doing mini BMXing. It's like incorporating like two thousands, like Matt, Matt, man, give me the guy's name. Matt.
speaker-1 (01:45.666)
Matt Hoffman?
speaker-0 (01:46.766)
Yes, that's the guy. That's the guy. Yeah, you're giving me those like 2000s vibes and like you just bringing that whole culture to this fun little segments that I like as far as little BMXing and skis and all the categories. It's crazy.
speaker-1 (02:02.424)
That's awesome. Yeah. Funny you mentioned BMX because BMX is one of my biggest hobbies and passions outside of fingerboarding. And same with mountain biking and skiing and growing up, just spent all my time doing that. So it's, I feel like I kind of started on the, on the sports side of it first, and then it's fun to recreate it on a miniature level.
speaker-0 (02:27.682)
Definitely. You give me the kind of person that's really outdoorsy that likes doing all the skating, mountain biking, BMXing. Like you look like a, just a jack of all trades for action sports.
speaker-1 (02:39.694)
I would say so, yeah. Especially these days, I spend most of the year down in Utah. So it's kind of a mecca for all that different stuff. Right now down in the Utah desert for the weekend, doing lots of biking and stuff. But at the same time, it's the perfect opportunity to film fingerboard videos. And we love to try to put great scenic backdrops in our videos.
That just makes it a lot more fun than being inside filming something.
speaker-0 (03:13.09)
No, definitely. You do have some crazy killer edits with some great backdrops. I didn't realize, now that you're talking about the desert, I guess that would be Utah. What part of Utah are you, traditionally you visit and stuff?
speaker-1 (03:25.41)
Well, we're based out of, I'm based out of Salt Lake City, close to Skate Station, fingerboard shop. So Salt Lake's got a great fingerboard scene. But then if you go three or four hours south, you got like Moab and Zion and St. George, of wide open, beautiful spots. It's just really nice to get out of the city and go spend some time down there.
kind of reset and but also at the same time film stuff and you know build some sneaky DIY fingerboard spots all that kind of stuff.
speaker-0 (04:04.898)
end.
Moab brings back memories. So I've traveled out West a few times, especially on tour and somehow we always managed to drive through Moab. And it's just like this fun little tourist destination in the middle of the desert. It's like an extremely small scale, like Vegas without all the shows and stuff. But it's just like, you're just driving, driving nothing desert. And then boom, like Moab's here and there's just like, doom buggies and just like all these like excursions and just, it's a crazy place.
And every time someone brings up my lab, you bring back this reminder that I need to figure out a way to take a weekend vacay out there for some reason.
speaker-1 (04:44.332)
You should man, I just love it because you just feel like you're on a different planet. There's very few other spots in the world that look like that from a perspective and it's just pretty rad. And most of it you can ride a dirt bike on if you want to.
speaker-0 (05:02.36)
That's what the appeal was for me. was just like, man, ATV, doom buggies, all kinds of stuff. I'm like, this looks like the place to be at for sure.
speaker-1 (05:10.274)
I can see myself ended up down here someday, for sure, more permanently. But originally I come from Washington state and that's where LC Boards is headquartered. That's where we ship everything out of. So we have a solid team up there and I spend like half the year up there throughout the summer and stuff. So getting ready to head back up there for the next couple of weeks. So looking forward to that too.
speaker-0 (05:38.456)
From a logistical standpoint, what makes you live half your year in Washington and then the other half in Salt Lake City? What's got you bouncing around from two different states like that?
speaker-1 (05:48.494)
But
College was doing that the last three or four years, but I finished up that about a year ago now and just kind of slightly fell in love with the area. So sticking around there for a bit. And if you've ever been to the Pacific Northwest in the winter, it's, it's pretty gloomy and rainy. so I like the sun a little more throughout the winter for sure.
speaker-0 (06:07.201)
That's fair enough.
speaker-0 (06:21.486)
I agree with that 100%. Last winter for, I think last winter for everybody was pretty rough. I don't even think Florida was safe. So, all right, well talk to me about the Salt Lake city scene. I've visited a couple of times. I have to say a couple. I've only visited once. I make it sound like I'm there all the time, but we, when we went out west, we stopped by at the skate station.
speaker-1 (06:29.344)
Yes.
speaker-0 (06:43.63)
a shop and it was an absolutely great time and problems was I was only there for literally like half a day because we're just in and out on tour but I like to kind of like you know talk to me more about like what's going on down there what's going on in Salt Lake City just like the whole scene the whole the whole vibe what's going on
speaker-1 (07:01.398)
Yeah, well, I feel like it's really popped off over the last year or two now. But when I first showed up, it was it was like just getting going. And Ethan and Clark from Skate Station, they're putting together a little 801 fingerboard group and starting to do some events and stuff. And I just got involved in those, obviously. I'm like, this is rad. know, they're putting on events. then Utah kind of has a thing of like secret outdoor park spots.
And like up in these, I don't know if you went to any when you were there, but like up in the big mountain canyons, there'll just be these like incredible concrete park build just sitting out there. I started going to some of that.
speaker-0 (07:44.04)
to go but I do remember when they did King of the Plies their video submissions and stuff last year they had some cool clips of them trekking through the woods and stuff and doing some crazy outdoor clips
speaker-1 (07:55.406)
Exactly. Yeah, so that definitely got me interested. And now there's probably just around Salt Lake, there's probably five plus giant parks like that. So those are always super fun to shred. And then they, yeah, they opened up their shop. So that's been super fun. We've done a couple events there and stuff with them. And it's just, it's great to have a spot like that for the community to everyone to get together and just rip and have fun. It's something I would love to
to do with LC in the next couple of years is like establish some sort of storefront or just event space where we can do events every weekend and get people together all the time.
speaker-0 (08:36.846)
I'm actually feeling a boom of new event spaces and shops getting ready to pop up. Like I know that when I'm talking about this right now and you're listening to this, it's a little early, but based off of a lot of conversations and stuff I've had with the community, like everybody's got the small kiosk storefront kind of mentality like on their radar and they're like, they're.
they're talking about it and like, you're having this conversation. I'm attaining the idea doing it as well. And there's several other people that are talking about it as well. And I'm like, I think in the next like two years, like we might see like a double or triple, even quadruple, like the amount of like storefronts and finger-boring spaces and stuff like that are getting ready to pop up for sure.
speaker-1 (09:19.842)
Totally. And it just makes it like, I mean, it's one thing online, you know, and everybody's communicating and stuff, but you just can't beat being in person, as you know, from the events you've done. seems like everybody just gets 10 times more stoked on fingerboarding, and I think it's an important part of it.
speaker-0 (09:38.382)
know, definitely. It's all about the experience. Like everybody can view something online, but not too many people can experience it online. And so being in person, having those connections, being able to experience the energy, the tricks, the people, the atmosphere, like it's, it's top tier. It can't be matched.
speaker-1 (09:58.69)
Yeah, so I would love to join the community of shops to have made that happen going forward. But you know, it's just a bit of a commitment. But we're working on putting together a big part collection. it's definitely in the cards for sure.
speaker-0 (10:15.512)
Yeah. Okay. Okay. Well, that's exciting to hear. I'm all about finger boarding, moving forward and just growing the community, the hobby, the sport, however you want to look at it. mean, it's just every little person that wants to move it forward. Always it helps. That's the contributions are huge.
speaker-1 (10:33.592)
Yeah, you've done a great job at that for sure.
speaker-0 (10:36.504)
Well, thank you. Thank you. You're out of Washington and also out of Salt Lake City. Just got done with college. Let's talk about LC Boards, the brand. Where did the name come from? And then when did it start?
speaker-1 (10:50.946)
You know, I get that question about the name a lot and I wish I had a story about like a failed DJ career or maybe the rap name like Little Chris. But it's, it's not that interesting. But basically I started LC Boards way back in high school. Like, I mean, like all of us, you know, you get into finger boarding in middle school. I'd say I was even started out as a finger biker more and then
transitioned into fingerboarding, bringing all your ramps to school and session in the back of the classroom with all the boys and stuff. But then we started making them. We had this really cool wood shop teacher who wanted us to make cutting boards or all the regular stuff. But we like, we try to make some fingerboards. And he was super down and supportive and helped us CNC our first mold out of wood.
And so we were just playing around with that for a while. And it was me and my good buddy Liam and I'm Chris, so just LC. And just the name kind of stuck from there. And then he was just doing it as a fun class thing. then I got really into it. was like, this is awesome. Make these boards and stuff. I started just slowly telling them kind of one by one and learning a lot as I went. Just kind of taking it a piece at a time, for sure.
speaker-0 (12:19.136)
year did LC boards start just so we can kind of get like a history and a foundation.
speaker-1 (12:24.402)
2020. So basically, yeah, I was, I was in a buzz during COVID, but, I think it was a great time to enter finger boarding because I was doing all this in school and then school got shut down and I was at home and I was like, had all this time. I was like, well, let's dive into this. And, just really got into it then. And, I mean, it seemed like finger boarding kind of had a boom back then and, everybody, everybody was going online and.
posted on all stuff so that got involved with the community on there and that was a great time of just.
speaker-0 (13:00.504)
was a crazy time. I've ever seen so much content, so many builds, so many ideas, so many collaborations, so many people asking questions like, like when I look back and especially like in like the Facebook groups and things like that, like, I mean, there was just an absolute crazy amount of people in there just looking for information and looking for just anything that just
push that passion forward. Like it was like just, it was like everybody's first day of school kind of like as a kid, like, mean, everybody was super excited to be there and like, it was just a crazy time to be alive. I look back and I'm like, dude, the energy for like those like year, year and a half, like 2020, 2021, like wild.
speaker-1 (13:48.15)
Yeah, I love all the creativity that came out of it. And so I think that was a great time for us to enter the fingerboard scene and eventually market. And I appreciate all the people who supported us back then because we've learned a lot along the way, know, try to improve our products all the time.
speaker-0 (14:07.566)
All right, so walk us through, cause you guys make and create and sell and a large variety of different things. But for anyone that's like, if you had to like tell them like what you guys really like specialize in or what you guys are like known for, like kind of walk us through those things.
speaker-1 (14:25.954)
I mean, I'd say most people know us just for our completes because we're a pretty great entry level and past entry level, just pro completes that'll get you stepped up from a tech deck and onto a great feeling setup. We try to have a lot of fun with our graphics and stuff and kind of push our art and collabs and that type of thing. Then from that, we've branched into ramps and I mean, urethane wheels and trucks and tuning and really...
down the whole list. But I guess our main goal is to just have kind of a one stop shop for people into finger boarding or getting into it and, you know, give them a great product. That's not gonna break the bank too much.
speaker-0 (15:10.902)
No, definitely. There's a huge market for people that are constantly coming into the hobby. And I feel like as more and more people are producing clips, things are becoming more viral. You've got all these skateboarding collabs that are happening. Like there's just a constant wave of just new people coming into the industry. And there really isn't enough people really catering to the newer person that's interested in getting into finger boarding without, you know, selling their first car to get their first
fingerboard park and stuff. it's a, it is definitely a segment that I feel like people don't give it enough credit for, for sure. And I'm kind of glad that you've stepped up and helped fill that void for sure.
speaker-1 (15:52.14)
Yeah. thank you. We, honestly, when I was getting into figureboarding, you know, I loved like different graphics and stuff and like getting graphics and all that. And, so that's one of my favorite parts is just making really cool decks. And lately we've been working with a lot of artists and doing some other collabs with skate brands or even into the music industry. and just really like brands are
or people in sports and genres that I like in real life. And I love when you kind of tie those into fingerboarding and sometimes in ways that you wouldn't expect.
speaker-0 (16:29.632)
Yeah, you're seeing a lot more crossover and stuff now, which is getting to be pretty interesting and it's pushing the bar forward too. It's motivating some people to kind of go out and find those more unique crossovers and things like that as well.
speaker-1 (16:40.792)
Yeah. One area that we've been trying to do more crossover in is the music industry. so like lately we've worked with slightly stupid, the kind of reggae band and then Cypress Hill, the rap group. And, that's just been a, that's been a ton of fun because like, I feel like album cover art and stuff is at least for me, is like a huge part of the whole music experience. And so when we're able to put those on.
Fingerboards I think that's something that people are really like
speaker-0 (17:12.503)
Yeah. I know that you're a avid supporter of Plies Mag and you had a Cypress Hill themed advertisement in one of the issues like two months ago, three months ago. And does that have something to do with the, that crossover that you're talking about? I saw the connection to it and you mentioned it and I'm like, okay, so it's on purpose. Like, okay, okay. So talk, talk to us more about that.
speaker-1 (17:29.9)
Yeah, totally.
speaker-1 (17:40.258)
Yeah, that was a collab we did with them. We did two decks. Obviously, the Plies Mag is the best spot to advertise that type of thing. But it's just, it's a great, it works out great for the bands because a lot of their fans are skateboarders too, or at least people kind of, you know, that fall under the skate and fingerboard categories as well. We found, we found us a great fit in there and we're hoping to do some events.
with them and stuff and you know bring fingerboarding into the concerts even. I've been to some of their shows and you know seeing their other kind of just booths of other brands set up there but I think having like a fingerboard park there would just be wicked fun for everybody.
speaker-0 (18:26.434)
I remember them like in high school, for me in high school, like it was a, they had the whole just like West Coast culture vibe thing going on. And then like when biscuit and that whole era, like it was a good time to be alive.
speaker-0 (18:42.094)
I'm aging myself too much on here. Craziness. All right. So I saw the most craziest thing in the event, finger boarding event world in the last issue of Plies Mag. So issue number 17 is out now. You got Mike F. Beer on the cover and Mr. Chris here put out a West Coast tour ad.
When I saw this thing, I was like, we got to tell everybody about this. Like we got to get all the eyeballs on it. Like, I don't know what's going on with this thing, but it's huge. It sucks up an entire page. And there's like, you got spots, like you've got spots for days. We got to talk about this West Coast store.
speaker-1 (19:32.814)
Yeah and if you think that's a lot of spots where in the next couple days we actually added on four or five additional stops so it's getting even crazier. It could be potentially even getting out of hand but it's gonna be a great way to kick off the summer for everybody. Basically how it all came about is that
We've been working with a bunch of great skate shops over the last couple of years. Um, and they've, you know, I've been flying through LC products and stuff. It seems like fingerboards in general have been almost taken over skate shops and they're starting to realize that it was like, these are almost important, just as important as the skateboards we're selling. Um, which I think it totally is. Cause I mean, it's, it's like how kids are, you know, eventually get into real skating or.
Maybe they just even stick with finger boarding. We've had a handful of shops that we wanted to do something with and we figured, well, let's just hit the road and hit all of them. And we started doing some of our own events throughout last summer and winter. And it's always just a great time when you get people out. What everybody's saying, we get a lot of DMs saying, hey, come to Cali. And they're like, where's the event in San Diego?
all this stuff and found a way where it's like, well, let's make it happen for you guys. You know, it's totally doable. And so basically in May, we're loading up our tour van with as many parks as we can fit and a whole bunch of other good stuff. And we're just going hit the road and hit as many cities as we can basically on the way up to Washington and.
I think it's going to be a great time for everybody.
speaker-0 (21:23.702)
Alright, so I've got a ton of questions and I'm sure most of your fans are gonna have similar questions and stuff like that as well. I don't even know where to start. It's so crazy. This is is crazy. Like I do crazy stuff. And so whenever I say someone else is doing crazy stuff, that means like you're like top tier doing some crazy stuff. Alright, so we're you're talking about loading up the van.
putting all the parks in, doing a crew style kind of tour, and you're just going to be like basically on the road the entire time, just bouncing back and forth from stop to stop to stop. you coming back or how? Just takes on this. Like I'm looking, cause I mean, you're talking about like, you got like a spot here at skate station, which is Salt Lake city. And then you got like a little trail that literally goes all the way up to like Portland and Washington. And I'm like,
speaker-1 (21:58.327)
I know.
speaker-0 (22:12.142)
what do they call it? Like the organ trail journey, where you're just like, just kind of doing your, doing your thing. Like, I don't want to make fun of it, but I'm like, this is, this is pretty wild. So like kind of walk us through like how these stops are going to kind of like go down and like, what can people expect at these stops?
speaker-1 (22:28.718)
Well, you can expect that. mean, we're just trying to put on a great fingerboard event. Hopefully bringing free pizza at all of them and putting on a bunch of competitions like most kickflip challenge. It's one of my favorites. Probably like a best line competition and have a bunch of prizes for all those. And we're to do some raffles. And we got two really big custom parks being made by TeenyRampCo down in Arizona right now.
So really excited to unveil those. there's some pretty cool Plaza design and another just big kind of rail skate park, it's, it'll be a surprise, but, um, we're excited to have those. And, uh, and it seems like a bunch of skate shops have parks too. So it just seemed like a really good fit to just show up in person and try to push finger boarding, you know, harder for, for the skate shop scene.
speaker-0 (23:10.35)
Okay, okay.
speaker-1 (23:28.59)
you know, for the people in all these towns and cities. Yeah, our route is basically just taking us back up to Washington there. And I had to think, it's like, man, well, if we're going to go to San Diego, we got to go through Vegas and we got to look out for the Vegas homies. And then, you know, got to go through LA, hit the vault, finger boards. We've got some good friends there. And then I've kind of just been piecing it together and trying to fill all the gaps. And so...
Over the last few days we've added in a stop in Santa Cruz, California and Anaheim and Matas, Codero. I think that's how you say it. At 805 board shop there. Yeah, everyone's been really on board with it. So I think it's...
speaker-0 (24:14.766)
All right. So we're talking about, these are all one day events. You guys can pop up. Um, are they free events or you got to, is there like a cover or. So you got one day events all over the West coast. You can pop in completely free, come in, hang out, shred, meet people, get all the clips.
speaker-1 (24:24.374)
Nah, they're totally free. Yeah.
speaker-0 (24:35.17)
get the vibes, meet everyone, have a great time. You're have a couple local competitions and stuff that looks like at each one of the events and the stops and really just kind of putting on for the people. So like, I like this. I mess with this a lot. I like it.
speaker-1 (24:48.654)
Yeah, totally. I mean, I spent so much time like, I mean, online, like putting out content and I have to, and you know, after a while it's like, once you do something in person, you're just like, wow, this is so much more fun and you know, kind of meaningful and engaging. So I would, I have the time to do it this May. So it's like, let's just get out there face face with everybody.
speaker-0 (25:12.686)
Definitely. And when you're talking about adding stops and stuff, it brings back such like just great memories. Cause like whenever we put together our tours and stuff like that, we're looking at pathways and who's in the middle of those pathways that we can stop at and maybe do like a quick like meet or even add a tour stop and stuff like that. And so like the whole like tour logistics and stuff is pretty wild as far as
figuring out like where you want to go, where you need to go and who's actually in the middle of trying to get there and stuff. So there's just a lot of things that kind of go along with it. And I am stoked that someone else is also kind of stepped up and taking care of the West because I try to go out West on tour. Like, you know, we'll at least make one West Coast stop. And I mean, crossing the United States for two days, like once you leave, like
Basically that line that goes up and down like across like Kansas City, like there's like nothing for like two whole days. It's just literally farmland and desert. And so you literally hit like the Western seaboard. And so like, it's just a crazy.
travel journey basically to get out west. And so the fact that like, you're putting the West on in a big fashion to like, it's not like you got like a couple little stops, like you're talking like literally a dozen or more like stops all the way up and down the West Coast. So this is huge for finger boarding.
speaker-1 (26:35.406)
Yeah, no, yeah, you're no stranger to the long drives. This would be nothing compared to your terms. But I love how you managed to stop and hit all. I mean, you know, I stopped through Utah and going all the way to Portland. So you definitely paved the way for that.
speaker-0 (26:50.318)
Well, I appreciate it. appreciate it. So with the West Coast, that's where you're basically on. So you got all these relationships. You're able to basically get all these shops to sign like, I try to talk it to more for like the fans to just try to like understand like what this means. Cause like most people they see are
you know, your ad here implies like, they're like, cool. They got a bunch of stops, but like, don't think people understand like how many relationships, how many conversations, how many like just the logistical standpoint of like making each stop happen. And so like, for me, I'm just like, this is the most insane thing I've seen like in quite some time. And so the other people are like, And I'm like, you guys, you guys can't shrug the shoulder on this. Like this is just, this is.
craziness when I'm looking at it. I'm like, you guys have so much going on here. So many different collaborations with shops, the community, things of that nature. You're really becoming like a beacon. If you can pull this thing off and execute this thing flawlessly, like you're going to be like you're going to be like the man for the West Coast for sure.
speaker-1 (27:55.726)
That's awesome. Yeah, it's definitely it's definitely gonna be a lot to pull off but we've had nothing but a great time at every event we've been to or put on before so I'm not too worried. I think I think everybody should have a good time, but it's that's really just about getting people out finger boarding and I mean Fingerboard events, you know, sometimes it
Sometimes there's not always one accessible to you. You're like, well, there's one in the city three hours away. But we just tried to look out for everyone on the West Coast, at least. So we just hope everyone comes out and just come have fun. No big, no egos, no expectations. Just come have a good time.
speaker-0 (28:48.622)
All right, for someone that's ran some tours in their past, I know that this can't be done alone. So this is kind of like my call to the community. Like, what are you needing from the community to help make this like the best that it can be? Are you looking for sponsors? Are you looking for volunteers at the events? what kind of, like, how can we help Chris make this thing like just flawless on your side?
speaker-1 (29:17.4)
That's a great question. I would say, I mean, just coming is going to be the biggest part of it. That's going to be a great for us and for the shops that, we're hosting at. but also if people want to bring their own parks, that is totally welcome. We would love, I mean, you know, at any event, it's like the more parks, the merrier usually. so I'd feel free to shoot me a DM on that on LC boards and we'd love to accommodate.
for that but as far as sponsors, mean, LC is gonna handle all the prizes and giveaways type stuff so we should have that covered and there's gonna be a lot of stuff to, a lot of stuff given away so looking forward to that. Yeah, I'd mainly just showing up and telling your friends about it because the more people that come, know, the bigger we can go next time or for the future events so.
speaker-0 (30:16.462)
Definitely, All right, so when is the first event start? I know this should release here in like the next week. Well, if you're listening to it, you're listening to it now, but I know that your first event's gotta be starting here in probably the next couple of weeks or so.
speaker-1 (30:31.842)
Yeah, should be May 5th Pharmacy Board Shop in Las Vegas. That's going to be our first one. then basically either the next day after or a couple days after, they kind of go from there. So from the 5th to the Skate Station event on the 30th down in Utah. So it's going to be a packed month of finger boarding. Definitely.
speaker-0 (30:59.032)
Where can people find more information on this? Like if they wanted to see the tour stops or they wanted to reach out to you, like how does one get more information on this West Coast tour?
speaker-1 (31:09.646)
Mainly on Instagram, we are, we've posted some of the schedules and stuff. We're going to have some more coming out on that in the next week or so. And we'll also throw it up on our website, lcboards.com. You can find all the, all the dates and times and yeah, we will be announcing the, the times of each event in this next week. So the info should be out there for everybody.
And if you want to reach out about bringing a park or really anything, just hit us for the DM at LCBoards or even an email if you need.
speaker-0 (31:50.414)
Very cool. And I'm gonna try to do my best as well to put all the links and the tour stops and everything like that in the descriptions for you guys as well. Make it as easy as possible. Man. All right. Anything that you wanna add to this West Coast tour? Anything you wanna leak? Anything that we haven't talked about? I know we've mentioned a lot in here, but like I said, this is a pretty big project. I don't wanna leave anything astray.
speaker-1 (32:15.084)
Yeah, we're really excited for the parks that we're going to have on hand. It's basically all brand new designs and stuff. And then of course we'll have a ton of our own ramps and stuff that we sell. So you can just try out all that stuff. And we're going to have a number of new decks that will be dropped kind of throughout the tour and during the tour. So some exciting new graphics and the labs.
with some skate brands and that type of thing. So, and we're going to be selling all those that are, we're going to be having like a vendor booth at each, each pop-up. if you need a new setup or any fingerboard things, that's just since, you know, fingerboard shops aren't very common these days. So it can, we'll be in your area and can get you set up with whatever you might need.
speaker-0 (33:10.36)
don't think we talked into like the team rider aspect. Like, do you have a team? you been building? Is there people that, you know, kind of put on for LC boards?
speaker-1 (33:19.918)
Yeah, we definitely have a handful of people that put on for LC and that we love to support. Shout out my boy Seagoods95. He's been a great supporter. We're always looking for, we're always just looking to help out when we can. We've done a, we sponsor a ton of events. I mean, we probably get an email or DM about other fingerboard events going on every day. And almost all of those we can get something out too. So.
We love doing that and we're always looking to grow our team. so, you know, we, we look for, we get, obviously we get, you know, a million messages all the time of sponsoring me, but it's, it's really not that hard if you just go in to make some good content and, you know, just help push the brand and it will help push you.
speaker-0 (34:11.564)
And then where are the majority of your products being sold? Do you have distribution, like different shops, are you primarily online, like on your website? Like how is someone, if they're looking to buy your products, how would they be able to go out and find those?
speaker-1 (34:26.83)
You can really find us all over. The easiest way is probably just our website on LCBoards.com. But we're on Amazon and eBay and TikTok shop. And lately we've been adding just a ton more skate shops where we're selling stuff. we've probably got 25 skate shops that carry LC stuff and that's across the world. So a whole bunch in the US and then mean down in Mexico and throughout Europe and...
Taiwan, we've had some great success with working with the shop over there. Yeah, we're just trying to put our fingertips out everywhere for all the finger boarders, no matter where you're from.
speaker-0 (35:08.536)
Maybe an okay, okay. What are, is there any future projects, anything that you might want to leak on the pod? I know you got a lot going on already, but maybe give your fans a little sneak peek at what's going on maybe this fall, this winter.
speaker-1 (35:25.966)
Yeah, well, even into going into the summer here after our tour, we've got a deck we've been working with our friends at Deviant Skateboards in Canada. They're a little skate brand. They did a pro model for this comedian, Taylor Clark from Washington state. And he's awesome. Well, he's a, I guess a skateboarder first and a comedian second. And he's really tied those two worlds together.
And he's done some great bits in Basher magazine. so everybody's shrinking down his deviant pro model deck to fingerboard size and really making a perfect replica from, you know, doing top graphic, like grip, tape engraving. And it's going to be a foil deck on the bottom. like just kind of capturing like the real
skate industry details and just trying to make this perfect fingerboard replica of it. So we're pretty excited on that project. And then we've been working again with Andes skateboards over in France and we've done a few graphics with them before and we're coming back to do some more that'll come out in the summer or fall. And it's
That's really fun to just capture the real skateboard scene and shrink things down and make them fingerboardable.
speaker-0 (37:06.24)
So is there any hobbies that people don't know about you that they might be surprised that you're into?
speaker-1 (37:13.27)
I would say yes. Well, as we were talking about earlier, I'm definitely a huge advocate of action sports, as you will. My biggest being BMX riding and freeride mountain biking, which is a huge part of being down in Utah. I've obviously been a skier a long time and kiteboarding.
kite foiling and wing foiling throughout the summer and surfing, you know, whenever I'm close to the ocean. So you really just love all that stuff. And I think it's kind of, that's kind of shed over to LC and it just try to, you know, capture that vibe and recreate it in any way we can. Cause I mean, you can still get, you still get a
a very similar experience, you know, doing something with your fingers as you can in real life. Surprisingly, that aspect is really fun.
speaker-0 (38:17.048)
Definitely. Okay. Chris, where can people find you on the internet?
speaker-1 (38:23.864)
Yeah, just hit us on LCBoards, LCBoards on Instagram, LCBoards, Fingerboards on YouTube and TikTok and lcboards.com and you can find everything.
speaker-0 (38:37.166)
I'm gonna put all those links in the description for you. Chris, it's been an absolute pleasure. Thanks for coming on the pod.
speaker-1 (38:43.586)
Yeah, it's good to chat with you again. Thank you for helping us share our tour and we just want everybody to come out who can just come have a good time with us. So that's all we can ask for.
speaker-0 (38:55.31)
Definitely once again if you guys are out on the West Definitely pop in at one of these free events that Chris here is putting on for the West Coast This is absolutely huge for finger boarding. So definitely come out show your appreciation grab some gear keep in keep in keep in touch whatever you can do to kind of help this thing move forward this is a Big this big for finger boarding
speaker-1 (39:18.286)
And also we're heading to Fingerboard Con up here in late April. We're so excited to get so many people there. That should just be a great weekend.
speaker-0 (39:28.312)
the exciting weekend. That's a there I am. Fortunately, I'm not I've got a skate park opening with Gary Graves on the same weekend. He's been working on he put a skate park in his city. He's been working on it for like six years. And so we've got to see it through. Yeah, so he's got Yeah, you got the city to literally build a skate park in his own city and stuff. So it's been a
speaker-1 (39:44.302)
That's awesome.
speaker-0 (39:51.374)
pretty wild, crazy journey. it's on the same weekend. So I actually have to pass on fingerboard con, least for the spring. I think they do one again in the fall. So I'll probably be at that one for sure. But I'm stoked for you to be able to meet and stuff with the community. That's going to be huge for you as far as getting the meet and greets and people asking questions and being able to engage with people before you go on tour and stuff like that for fingerboard con. So that's going to be big for you.
speaker-1 (40:17.528)
Totally. Yeah, I think we'll make some great connections there that and hopefully see a bunch of the same faces the month after that. In their home towns. That should be exciting. And also it's been it's been a great time doing flies magazines every month and just love what's going on with flies and it's great to walk into Skate Station and see it there sitting on the shelf. Have something you can just flip through and
I brought a few of them home and it's like totally rad to put the phone down and pick up something paper and flip through and see some awesome photos and articles.
speaker-0 (40:58.306)
Thank you. Yeah, that means a lot. It's so cool being able to go to spots and people are tagging you and things and like they're at the shops and like they're just out in the wild and stuff. And like it's the same way when you see like all your LC boards and all the other things out in the wild and stuff. It just makes you feel so good that people are appreciating what you guys are doing and putting on and stuff like that.
speaker-1 (41:18.84)
Yeah, totally. I'd love to ask too if you have any plans for the USA Fingerboard League coming up this summer. Are you guys going back on tour?
speaker-0 (41:28.046)
We did regionals and nationals. got our three national winners, is Mitch Rush, Tanner Hinch and Chris Daniels. We're going to be going to fast fingers in Germany this summer and they're going to be representing Team USA for.
the World Championships this June 20th. So we're pretty excited about that. And then we've got sanction events happening this year as well, which will lead into the rankings and standings for the 2027 season. 2027 next year, we'll be doing our regional and national tour back on the road. And then the winners of that national event will go to the next Fast Fingers 23.
speaker-1 (42:06.99)
It's smoothing,
speaker-0 (42:08.014)
Yeah, so local sanction events, regional events, national events, and then sending winners to the world championship. So we just kind of got that plateau level of pathway to get there.
speaker-1 (42:18.028)
Yeah, that's totally rad. I hope we can join you at some more of them in years future.
speaker-0 (42:26.862)
Definitely. We can post it, any support, anything that you need from us. I am 100 % here and available to you. Like I want to see all this stuff through for you guys. This is huge.
speaker-1 (42:35.458)
Thank you man. Yeah, we hope people make it out and maybe someday we can do a East Coast version of it as well.
speaker-0 (42:44.27)
actually thinking of that, but I didn't want to like just throw it out like too soon, too soon, but it'd be kind of crazy to do a West coast, East coast collaboration tour where like we somehow synced our two tours together or something like that. It'd be kind of crazy to have like this massive like 20 stop like network that we just kind of like run. don't know. I, my brain always moves like a thousand miles per minute, but you know, we're, we're just propaganda on the podcast at this point, but
I could definitely see something crazy happening like that.
speaker-1 (43:15.444)
I love that dude. think people should let us know. Hit us up if that's...
speaker-0 (43:20.92)
Yeah, us know in the comments. You want to see something crazy like that? Because I feel like we would definitely be the people that can make it happen for sure. Man, right on. Well, thanks for coming on the pod, man. It's been an absolute pleasure.
speaker-1 (43:33.794)
Yeah, dude. Great to catch up with you. Bless in the loop for things going forward like that.
speaker-0 (43:40.482)
Definitely, definitely. Till next time.
speaker-1 (43:43.404)
And thank you for having me on.
speaker-0 (44:10.422)
Take tight, I'm soaring like a bird Every trick or story, every slot or word Grinding on the edge, I'm breaking the mold Fingerboarding dreams with the weight in gold Hear the wheels as they scream In this fingerboarding dream Fingerboarding, I'm fighting free With every flick I'll write my story On this board
speaker-0 (44:40.598)
In the skate park I found my
speaker-0 (44:55.322)
as they scream in this finger-boarding tree. Finger-boarding, I'm flying free. With every flick, I'll write my story. On this board, I'm never alone.
