Well, hi everybody. Okay, so if you are just joining, you're probably seeing a couple little glitches in my technology. And I'll be honest, I am trying a new platform tonight. So if some things don't go like, totally smooth, that's because, well, this is a maiden voyage for me on this new platform, Riverside. So tell me in the chat.
where you are tuning in from. Tracy Warren, so good to see you. So good, and I see Teresa is on. This is so great. And Sherry, good to see you. my gosh, main girl, Amanda, fantastic. I'm so glad that you guys all joined. This is so awesome. Well, I've got some friends on with me tonight, and I'm so glad that you're here.
And as I said, there are gonna be some things that are a little different. I'm trying this new platform out to see if I like it. I know right off the bat, I'm gonna prepare you. There is one drawback that I didn't have, that I don't have on this platform that I had on the other platform. And that is that I have, it's harder to see, I have to show everybody's messages. I have to click on every single message to show it. Yeah.
I have to click on every single one. So if I'm a little delayed in showing those, then be patient with me. So that's the first little thing that I don't love about this platform. And then second of all, if you're joining from YouTube, you might not be able to see the Facebook comments and vice versa. You might not be able to see them show up. So it's something that this platform I think is working on. However, there's a lot of pluses.
I won't bore you with all the technology. If you are joining, If you know who I am, I'm Cecily Lachapelle - but if you don't, I am the host of Cecily Lachapelle Live, and I'm so glad you're here. Tonight, we are gonna be talking about how we can hear God's voice. And it is one of the most important subjects we could possibly talk about. And we're gonna talk about that now, because let's be honest, have you ever felt like you're just not
Cecily Lachapelle (03:18.046)
spiritual enough to hear God speak? Maybe his voice you feel like is reserved for pastors or missionaries or maybe those people who are really quiet, special people, people who read a lot of the Bible. Or maybe you're someone who feels confident that God does speak to all of his children, but you're still struggling to hear him speak as if maybe, I don't know, the volume got turned down or you haven't tuned your dial to the right frequency.
If that's you, I want you to know that you are not alone. I have felt that way and so have scores of other men and women that I have talked to over the years. So rest assured, over the next two weeks on Cecily Lachapelle Live, we are going to go deep into all the reasons why God wants to speak and why it's imperative that we learn how He speaks.
and to develop the ability to hear his voice, but also to learn that we can lead others into hearing God for themselves. Because I know that many of you on this live stream, thank you, Tracy, can and do hear from God, but maybe you just never knew how to explain the why or the how to someone else. And that's important. So,
Here on the Cecily Lachapelle Live, we have conversations about faith, the Bible, how we hear God's voice, how you can read the Bible and actually get something out of it, and how we can develop a relationship of intimacy with God. I am a woman who is on a pursuit of more of the Lord in every area of my life. So in these live streams, I share about my journey, and then I open up the floor for you to share yours with me.
So I hope you did your finger workouts this week because I really wanna hear from you because your journey is just as important as mine. That's why we have this live stream. So let's dive into tonight's topic, which is the surprising truth about hearing God's voice. The truth is it's not just for special people, it's for God's people. So I'm gonna lay a foundation for us all with two really important scriptures.
Cecily Lachapelle (05:41.516)
The first one is Deuteronomy 28. Let me put that up on the screen for you. And that says, if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all of his commandments that he commands us today, and the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. So did you hear that? If we will faithfully obey the what? The voice of the Lord our God.
I think so many of us would have thought that scripture says, if you will faithfully obey my word and be careful to do all my commandments that I command you, then the Lord will set you high above all the nations of the earth. This is from the chapter Deuteronomy 28. If you're familiar with it, in that chapter, that is where the Lord is talking to us about all of the blessings that come from following him.
and the Lord clearly tells us that the way all these blessings are gonna come will be blessed in our basket, blessed in our store, blessed coming in, blessed going out, blessed in the city, blessed in the country, know, all of that. It comes from being able to obey the voice of the Lord, which means we have to be able to hear the voice of the Lord and be confident that we hear his voice. So then in Hebrews 3.15, that scripture says,
Yes, today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts. I bet some of you are thinking hardening your heart is like how Pharaoh hardened his heart against Moses. But you know what is interesting? That word doesn't just mean harden like clay hardens. It means to ignore it, to walk away from something. It means not prioritizing it.
in regards to the voice of God, it's not seeking the voice of God as the best gift in the universe that it is. So the first understanding that we have to have is that God is a communicator and we were made in his likeness. If you know the answer to this, type it in the chat. How did God create the earth? How did he form the earth?
Cecily Lachapelle (08:09.154)
Somebody tell me, how did the Lord form the earth?
I don't see it, so I'm gonna give you five, four, three, two, one. He formed it with words. Additionally, we see in Genesis chapters one, two, three, that God spoke to Adam and Eve with his voice. They knew his voice, right? Knowing somebody's voice is equal, yes. Tracy said his voice, he spoke. That's right, exactly.
Knowing somebody's voice is the equivalent of intimacy. So God created us to hear and understand his voice. Why is it so hard? Why aren't more Christians experiencing his voice in personal ways? I mean, that's that is an amazing question because I think it all comes down to erroneous conceptions that we have.
about hearing the voice of God. So when I was meditating on this topic last week, I thought of a bunch of questions that I have either been asked or I've asked myself concerning hearing God's voice personally. So I'm gonna ask these questions out and you can just see how many of these you relate to. And if you relate to any of this, I would love it if you would just put this
in the chat, give a thumbs up or say that's me. If I hit one that describes you. So the first one is, do you believe that God still speaks to people? Do you believe that God ever spoke to people? And if you believe that God can and does speak to people, then who do you believe that God speaks to? Holy people?
Cecily Lachapelle (10:13.294)
who don't do wrong things, people who know and understand a lot of the Bible, people that he really likes or needs for service. Another question, if God was gonna speak to you, how would he do that? If God speaks to you, how has that ever happened? Was it while you were walking in nature? Was it through another person?
And if God is speaking, how will you know it's God when you hear something? And how will you know that it's not just your own thoughts? And then what do you do with things that you think God has spoken to you? Should you tell anyone about it? Is it just for you? Or would God speak to you maybe for somebody else's benefit? And then why, when, and how would that happen?
Do you have to meet certain conditions for God to speak to you? And what about if he speaks through you, then what? So in this live stream, I thought that I would systematically answer those questions. Maybe you feel like you hear God's voice, but do you know how to help someone else who doesn't feel confident in hearing God's voice? Do you think it's important for everyone?
to be able to hear his voice? If so, put a 100 % or a thumbs up in the chat. If you think that it is important for everyone to be able to hear God's voice, and if you're super brave and you like to type, then tell me why you think it's important for every believer to hear God's voice.
Awesome. All right. So someone just, so this is Teresa, think another person, one time I told him that I wanted an audible voice. Boy, I think a lot of us would love to have an audible voice. Tracy says, know, it's 100%, 100%. It is so important that we hear God's voice and that we help other people hear God's voice. So does God still speak?
Cecily Lachapelle (12:38.082)
and did he ever speak? These are like the first two questions in the list. Well, the Bible itself is a record of a God who speaks. So in Hebrews chapter one, verse one, it says, the past, God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways. So God's communication isn't a relic of the past.
It's in his nature. The God of the Bible is still speaking today. Now I know that there are people who believe that God is not speaking, either that he never spoke, that he just sort of created this world and let it spin off like a top, or other people believe that God spoke at one point, but he sort of shut down the communication. But I don't believe that.
I believe that God is still speaking today, that he is the same yesterday, today, and forever. How about you? Is that what you think? What's one question I'd love to know that you have about hearing God? Just drop it in the chat below. I'd love to see what you think about that.
What is your one question that you have about hearing God? Are you questioning, can I hear from God? How do I hear from God? Let me know what your question is. So is the ability, this is now question three on my list, is the ability to hear God's voice just for holy, special people? I hope not, I'm out of luck. I need to bust that exclusivity myth.
I need to bust it wide open because God speaks to his sheep. God speaks to his sheep. Amen. Yes, God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Amen. So how do we know that God speaks to his sheep? Because it tells us in John 10, 27, that my sheep listen to my voice and I know them and they follow me.
Cecily Lachapelle (14:59.586)
So what that is saying is that if you belong to him, you're his sheep. You're part of his flock. He doesn't show favoritism. How many of you have seen that really precious viral YouTube video about a shepherd calling his flock? Tell me in the chat if you have ever seen that video. Give me a thumbs up. For anyone who has not seen that video,
I'm not sure where this shepherd was from. I don't know whether he's from Ireland or Scotland or something like that. And so he is, as the shepherd of the flock, has a whole group of people that are coming to see his sheep. And he tells the people exactly how he calls the sheep. And I am not going to repeat it because I will mess it up. But he has this special call that his sheep come to. So you can see them all over.
the hillside, some are up close, some are far away. And every single, so he teaches every single person exactly his call and they are doing it. And man, some of them are really nailing it. They sound exactly like him. And the sheep don't even pick up their head from eating. Don't even look up to see who is calling them. And then the second the shepherd calls the sheep, they pick up their head and they all start running to him.
And the cool thing is the sheep that are the farthest away start running first until they're all right at his feet. I absolutely love that video because it shows that the sheep know their shepherd's voice. And that's the promise that Jesus makes to us, that we will know his voice. So if that's the case, then why do we sometimes feel like
can't hear God. I'm asking him questions and I just don't know if I'm hearing from the Lord. Is this me? Am I making this up? Is this God? Is this the devil? Like, I don't know. We need to build up our faith that if God is a speaking God and he's a communicator and we were created in his likeness and now we are his sheep, we are his children, that we can hear his voice.
Cecily Lachapelle (17:25.6)
we will be able to hear his voice. That is our promise. And there's another great promise that we have in Acts 10, 34. And that says, then Peter began to speak. I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism, but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right. So the key to...
to that scripture is understanding that we don't have to be flawless to hear God's voice, but we do have to have faith. We do have to have faith. Guys, the good news is that holiness is not the prerequisite for hearing from God. It's the result of walking with him. Holiness is not...
the prerequisite for hearing from Him. It's the result of walking with Him. He's so good. He is just so, so good to us. All right. So be honest. Have you ever, yeah, main girl says, unblock out all other voices that aren't of Him. Yes, amen, amen. Be honest, have you ever felt like you weren't holy enough to hear from God?
I know I have, and there have been times that my conscience has been just beating me up. And I felt like, well, I'm really not in the right place. Like God wouldn't want to talk to me. He wouldn't want to answer me. I need to get myself all fixed up before God will speak to me. And what we don't understand is that the Lord knows we have to hear His voice.
or we won't be able to get ourselves fixed up. How are we supposed to fix ourselves up if he's gonna go silent on us and give us the silent treatment? He is our answer. That's not when he's gonna go silent. That's when he wants to probably speak the most because he knows that his voice is life. His voice is healing. His voice is alignment. Have you ever been carrying around a burden of sin?
Cecily Lachapelle (19:50.486)
a burden of shame, a burden that is just so heavy and you think to yourself, I don't know what to do with this burden. I feel so shameful. And then the Lord speaks and all of a sudden, even though it's a correction, even though there is that fatherly discipline in there, it feels refreshing.
You know it's love because now you're free. You're not carrying that burden around. You're clean. Like it's out there where it's, I'm not covering it up. I have no more skeletons in my closet. God knows me completely. He loves me completely. And it was his voice that said, hey, daughter, son, I see what that is. I see it. You're not hiding anything from me. Let's talk about it.
And it's in those conversations that we find freedom. So that is just a lie of the enemy when we think that because we're not exactly where we think we need to be, that he's gonna give us the silent treatment. That's something we would do. That is not something God would do. So how does God speak? Tracy says, amen. Yes, God is so good. So how does God speak? He speaks through many things.
He can speak through his word. John 1.1 tells us, me bring that scripture up for you. It says, in the beginning was the word and the word was God. the word was with God and the word was God. So in the very, very beginning, there's Father, Son and Holy Spirit, but Jesus, the Son is the word. And that word was active. The word created everything.
And now the word that we have, our Bible, is the logos and the Rhema word of God. Logos, word of God, is it's his personality. It is his being. It is his wisdom. It is his character, his nature. And the Rhema is all of that being spoken into our immediate moment that we're in, in the exact situation that we find ourselves in.
Cecily Lachapelle (22:17.324)
And so the first way that the Lord speaks to is through the Word. The way that I got saved is a perfect example of that. I found a Bible in my bedroom the night before I was going back to school for my senior year. I went to a boarding school and I knew I was in such a bad place. I knew that I was either going to kill myself or be killed if I didn't change. And I was powerless to change. I I had been raised in the Catholic Church.
And so I knew right from wrong. I knew what I was and wasn't supposed to do. And I knew I was doing all the wrong things. My choices were getting more and more destructive and reckless. And so I did one of those, you know, open up the Bible and say, God, if you're real, I need you to speak to me now. And the Lord led me through various Psalms and led me to salvation through Psalm 51.
I prayed that Psalm and every single word poured out of my heart as if it was written by me to God. It was the perfect repentance prayer. So that's the very first interaction that I had with God was through his word. It wasn't through a preacher. It wasn't through a worship song. It wasn't through a podcast. It was through the Bible that up until that point,
I couldn't even understand. It might as well have been written in Mandarin Chinese. And all of a sudden on that night, I get it and I can understand it. It was because the Lord said, it's time for you to hear my voice. Another way that the Lord speaks is through his Holy Spirit. That is his active voice today. God tells us so clearly in Romans 16, 13.
Let me show this. For his invisible attributes, namely his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived. Let's show that again. Having ever since creation of the world in the things that have been made. So the Holy Spirit has spoken throughout all eternity and he makes God's voice visible to us today.
Cecily Lachapelle (24:40.396)
His voice, Jesus said that the Holy Spirit would be our counselor, the Holy Spirit would remind us of His words, the Holy Spirit would teach us, would make everything plain to us, and that's the Holy Spirit's job. So that is another main way that God speaks to us. Then He speaks to us through creation. He also speaks to us through dreams and visions. I mean, just ask Jacob. He had an amazing dream that where God spoke to him,
tremendously and he saw a ladder going up to heaven and angels coming up and down the ladder and he knew God spoke to him and repurposed the covenant. He spoke again the covenant that he had made to Abraham. He spoke it to Jacob in that place and so that was all happening in a dream but it was real. Jacob knew this actually has happened but he had to see it in a dream.
What about Joseph? Joseph had amazing dreams. It ended up by getting him almost killed by his brothers and sold into slavery into Egypt for a number of years, but that dream came to pass. God absolutely prophesied Joseph's future to him in a dream. And then the other Joseph, Jesus' stepdad, same thing. He got direction from God that saved Jesus' life when he was a baby. And so that was...
God speaks through dreams, he speaks through visions, and then he also speaks through his people. He'll speak through people who can prophesy, give prophetic words, words of knowledge, words of wisdom, words of encouragement, edification, comfort. But the voice of God can also come through someone else as counsel.
and maybe even as discipline if we need it or alignment or encouragement. So those are so many ways that God can speak to us. And I'll tell you what I find and maybe you find the same thing when you're talking to people. Tracy said that creation has been the loudest voice for her. That's great. That's awesome. Well, I know Tracy, when we were having the...
Cecily Lachapelle (27:01.494)
Rochester Day of Hope when we were having that night of worship and it was a downpour and then all of a sudden there's this gorgeous double rainbow right over the tent where we were worshipping in a place that we were trying to saying we were going to open the wells of revival through worship and prayer and prophecy in that place and man there had been a downpour that almost canceled the event. We were in know water up to our ankles but said we're going to keep going forward.
And there was the rainbow, God's covenant promise. So yes, creation can speak so loudly, so loudly. and then Teresa says that God speaks to her through his people and through prophecy. Amen. Well, God has certainly spoken to me that way many times, many times. So let me ask you, which of those methods do you think
that you hear God the most through? We've already heard from a few of them. and dreams and visions. That's awesome. That's so great. Dreams and visions is another way that we hear from the Lord, totally. Well, have you ever heard God speak to you? Because His voice is often a gentle whisper. And God, with Elijah, for instance, He wasn't in the whirlwind. He was in the gentle whisper.
And I think this is where hearing from God can get tricky because we want an angel appearance. We want a trumpet blast. We want something definitive, especially if we feel like, God, I have to make a big decision. Should I, I don't know, quit my job and go into ministry or should I stay or should I marry this person or
how do I handle this situation in my family? When we feel like we have something time sensitive we're like, God, I really can't, I really don't need the mystical God right now. I need the clear, clear, like write it on my lawn in lightning, do something, please show me clearly. And I think that's where learning to hear God's voice and practicing hearing God's voice is so.
Cecily Lachapelle (29:21.038)
and so important because - this is so great. Someone said, "He woke me up by calling my name." Wow, that's amazing. That is so amazing. Well, sometimes we're waiting for that. We want that. We want God to wake us up. We want God to interrupt our day to day and speak to us. And it doesn't always happen like that. I have certain people that I mentor and
A lot of times I hear this where someone says, I really don't think that God is speaking to me. And I have to say, well, hold up, time out. What about this? What about when you just shared with me that you were all excited because you read this scripture and it really spoke to you and it really came alive. What was that? Wasn't that God speaking to you? yeah. Yeah, I guess.
Well, and what about the work situation that you prayed about and God came through? Isn't that God speaking to you because he's answered you and he gave you a piece in that moment and he gave you exactly the words to say? And so many times I think we put on God certain expectations of how we think he has to speak to us.
how we want him to speak to us. So then when he goes and speaks to us in another way, like Elijah's thinking, he must be in the whirlwind, but he came in the gentle whisper instead, we need to not put God in the box and be on the lookout for all the ways that he's going to speak to us. I love this, Tracy says, can I look forward to new opportunities to hear him?
or is he showing himself in the language of nature and creation? That is such a great question. Wow, Tracy, thank you so much for asking. Honestly, I'm one of those greedy Christians. If I see something in the Bible, I want it all. And unless somebody tells me no and can show me in the Bible that I don't get to claim that promise, I'm just gonna go and claim it all until I feel like I have everything that Jesus has given me.
Cecily Lachapelle (31:42.87)
So if there's tons of ways that God can speak, if he can speak through prophecy, if he can speak to me through dreams and visions, I just the last year and a half, I pray not every night, but I would say more nights than not. I ask the Lord to speak to me in dreams and visions as I sleep. I say, my body is asleep, but my soul is awake unto you. So I'm asking you, Lord, download dreams and visions. Help me then when I wake up.
to remember them, help me to understand what they mean and if it's for just for me or if it's something I'm supposed to share. I pray that. And so I'm asking God to expand the ways that he'll speak to me. Absolutely. And I've also been asking for words of knowledge so that I can then speak to other people on God's behalf, especially the lost.
I think it's just so important that people know that God hears them. And that's another reason why it's important for us to keep pushing the boundaries out in the ways that we allow God to speak to us. Because it's not just about us. There is a world out there. And what speaks to one person may not speak to another.
And so we need to become craftsmen with all the tools that God has given us to put in our tool belt. I don't know a single carpenter who says, well, I only am good with a hammer. Those other tools, I never picked them up. They intimidate me, but I'm really good with this hammer, really good. So if you need someone to hammer nails, I'm your guy or I'm your gal. No, they get...
good with all the tools because you know in certain jobs you're going to need the hammer, other tools, other jobs, you're going to need the screwdriver, you're going need the skill saw. I think you get my point. We need to be craftsmen that are working with all the tools that God has given us. He has promised that every believer can prophesy, that every believer can hear his voice. When we can hear his voice in the word, we can hear his voice in nature, we can hear his voice in dreams.
Cecily Lachapelle (34:06.7)
We can hear his voice in a sermon or in a worship song. We need to expect that we can hear his voice. let me see. What do I want to share here? actually, I want to ask you guys this question. In one word, what is the hardest part for you about recognizing God's voice? Is it confusion? That would be
Is this God? Is this me? Is this the devil? I don't know. Or is it doubt? I don't know whether God could really speak to me or if I have what it takes to hear from him. Or is it just a lot of noise? There's busyness, there's noise around you, there's distraction, and you just can't kind of get still enough to take the time to hear his voice. So is it confusion?
Is it doubt or is it noise? Let me know in the chat what makes it the hardest for you.
to recognize God's voice.
Cecily Lachapelle (35:21.696)
All right, he's a good father and he wants to speak when you ask. He wants to give good gifts to his children. Yes, amen, amen. And that definitely needs to be our stance of faith. Yes, totally. Distraction, old noises, Tracy. I think that's the biggest one for me right now, honestly, Tracy. think that's the biggest one for me is just the constant
feeling of, okay, and Sherri says doubt, yeah. I mean, that is just huge for people. Absolutely huge. When our lives are so busy and we have big, long task lists and also, Whitney, I love that. Great honesty. That is so awesome. All of the above. Amen, girlfriend. Amen. I get it. I hear ya. When we have this huge task list,
and we are under the just the tyranny of the urgent, it's hard to make time to practice the presence, to allow God the white space to speak to us. And most of us don't have this sliver of time carved into our schedules, if we're honest.
So we actually want God to sort of jump into some place in our busy life and just sort of calf rope us, you know, like a rodeo guy and just we're running along like a little calf and that he's gonna be like that rodeo guy with the lasso and he's just gonna lasso us and jerk us down and be like, now, be quiet, I'm gonna speak. God isn't like that. He is never going to wrangle us.
and say, have to listen to me now. We have to create those open spaces. We have to draw near to God and then he draws near to us. Like we've been talking about in past live streams, we have to schedule sacred space. We have to create it. We've got to create the physical space. We have to create the opening in our schedule. We have to consistently show up and
Cecily Lachapelle (37:49.364)
Is God going to speak to us absolutely every single day, every single time? Maybe we don't hear God speak in a way that seems mystical and supernatural in that moment. Perfect visual, don't I? Yes, I know, don't I wish, yes. And then Teresa, grab us with the shepherd's staff. Yeah, exactly, exactly. But it's imperative that we get past
the doubts and fears about whether or not God can or will still speak to us. We need to settle it. We need to settle it. God's a communicator. He created the world with words. He spoke to Adam and Eve. that is creation before the fall. That's God's design. And now through Jesus, we have been restored to our intimate relationship with God.
And if you're in an intimate relationship with anyone, you talk to each other. And so it's imperative that we begin to practice tuning our ear to hear him. Because I'll be honest, without his voice, you are prey to deception. How are you gonna know if something is deceiving? If there's false teaching or false prophecy? If you don't know his voice, how are you gonna know what's not his voice?
I think we've all heard the example that they teach bank tellers to be able to recognize counterfeit money, not by studying the tens of thousands of different ways that counterfeit money can show up, but by teaching them to study the real. And if they know that a real hundred dollar bill, thousand dollar bill, whatever, if they know it so well down to every little line, then the second there's a counterfeit, they know exactly that this isn't real.
And that's the way it is with hearing God's voice. We need to know His voice so that when the counterfeit comes along, we'll say, that's not my Father's voice. I know that. When condemnation comes, we can say, well, my God doesn't talk to me that way. My Father doesn't talk to me that way. It also keeps us from falling back into old habits. And if we are not taking time to hear God's voice, then we are not connected to the source of our faith.
Cecily Lachapelle (40:17.634)
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word or the voice of God. And I'll be honest, for some of you, your physical healing depends on hearing the voice of God. You know, when my granddaughter was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer called malignant rhabdoid tumor, there are 25 cases a year in the US and
None of them survive. Some of them survive briefly through chemo, but they don't survive to have life. When she was diagnosed with this, I had to wrestle until I got a word from God. I knew what the word said about healing. I knew what the promises are about healing, but I needed to hear from God.
I hope you know what I mean. There's a difference between reading it in the word and knowing generally that this is the will of God. But I needed to know, I needed to have the thus say it the Lord in my heart about Eliana. And I'll never forget, I moved in with my daughter when Eliana started chemotherapy. I moved in for six weeks and
One night I woke up in the middle of the night and I heard Eliana crying and Ashley was, you know, taking care of her. And I got up and I just got mad. And I started praying. And then I said, Lord, I feel like I'm banging, like banging my fists against a wall. I need to know that it's not going to be my fists.
that are gonna break this wall down because it's not. I need to know that you are gonna knock this wall down. And all of a sudden, out of nowhere, I just started hearing scripture, but this time it wasn't coming up out of my heart as, these are the things you pray when you're praying for healing for someone. This is just, you know, these are the scripture verses. All of a sudden, it was like there was fire in every word.
Cecily Lachapelle (42:41.858)
And now as they were coming out of my mouth, they were coming out like, it was coming out like a, whatever that thing is that just, like a flame thrower. And I knew that it was not my voice anymore that was speaking that word. I'm gonna get choked up. I knew that God said, give me your tongue. I want my voice in this house. I want my voice in this night.
I want my voice speaking over Eliana. And I just knew in that moment that I had what I had asked of him. I knew it was his voice in the word. So good. I'm just so grateful to God. Deuteronomy 28 says that if we hearken to and obey his voice, that all the blessings, one of which is physical healing,
will come upon us. Amen. Amen. Tracy says, amen. Yes. Sherri says, so good. Thanks guys. Amen. God is so good. So good. I'm so excited for how the word comes alive when God's voice is speaking through it. So we've tackled a few of the questions that I had on my list, but next week,
We are going to be tackling the hardest questions. How do I know that it's God and not just my own thoughts when I think that I'm hearing from God? And what do I do once I hear from him? Because I think those are the important things people usually doubt. Once you realize, yeah, no, I believe that God still speaks. I believe that he still speaks to people. Okay, I believe I'm a sheep.
and then he can speak through me. And then you start practicing the presence and you start allowing God to speak and you record something down and then you're like, I don't know. I am probably making this up. I think I'm just saying what I wanna hear. Maybe it's even the devil. I don't know, how do I know? And then once you have something that you think is from the Lord, then what do do with it? So we're gonna be talking about that next week. And speaking of hearing from the Lord.

I have some prophetic words to give to some people either listening to this recording live right now or it could be someone listening in the replay. Today when I was praying for this live stream, the Lord showed me that there's someone who has chronic eye issues, whether they're infections, cataracts, and I also heard the word glaucoma. And the Lord is healing you right now. And I believe this is a woman.
and you have been dealing with cataracts or glaucoma and God is healing you. Amen. Amen. And then there's also someone, and this is something I've actually never gotten a word about before, but stiff, weak ankles. Like it hurts you to stand for a long time and it throbs at night. And Jesus is healing you right now.
And in your case, there is someone that is in your family and that when they see your healing from this, you are going to be a sign and a wonder in your entire family. So that's that I just praise God for that. I thank you Jesus for that healing. And then there's someone that is on this live stream or watching that is a child or grandchild.
that is suffering with severe depression. You are very, very concerned and anxious about them all the time. You are scared that you are gonna get that phone call. And the Lord wants you to know.
He's lining things up where this young person, I just saw them running into the arms of Jesus. And when they come running to Jesus, they are going to be delivered from a spirit of suicide and depression that is attached to them. Yes, amen, amen. We do, we thank you for the healing Lord. We thank you Lord for healing the people.
Cecily Lachapelle (47:16.608)
on this live stream. We thank you, Father. We thank you, God. And I just thank you for that healing. And I thank you, Lord, for that young person who is being delivered from a spirit of suicide and depression. We thank you, Jesus, you have a plan for their life and that they are running home to you. You are sending laborers into the harvest. hallelujah, hallelujah. Two grandchildren. All right, praise God. Well, there's your promise.
There's your promise. Praise God. Amen. Amen. And Tracy says, pray, Jesus, I praise you in this all. Amen. Amen. Okay, guys, well, we have come to the end of this live stream. So here's your challenge for this week. I have a little homework for you. I want you to start making time to purposefully listen for God's voice. Somewhere in the next 24 hours, take seven minutes.
Why did I choose seven? Because it's a little bit more than five, but it's not quite 10. It's also the number of perfection and completion. So seven minutes, sometime in the next 24 hours, and turn off all notifications. Put your phone out of the room, put your Apple Watch out of the room, anything that dings, bings, buzzes, or whatever vibrates, and then ask God, what do you want to tell me? Get out a notebook, your,
journaling device, whatever, and write down the first thoughts that come to your mind. Do not self edit. No matter how small what you have is, just write it down and then bring that note to our next live stream. Okay? You don't have to share it with everybody, but if you want to, you can share it with me. You can reach me on the email and I will put my email address in the chat.
and at the end of the live stream and in the description. So if you guys think that this live stream would help someone else, please share. Please share it and subscribe to my YouTube channel and hit the bell icon so you can be notified. Also, go to my website. I'm gonna put my website address up for you all because you can go to my website and sign up for my email list. Listen, I will not spam you, I promise.
Cecily Lachapelle (49:40.972)
I send out one email a month that is a personal message from me to my email subscribers. And then the other things you're gonna get are just the reminders for the live stream that have the link in it. It's just to help you out, to keep you aware of when the live stream is coming up and what the topics are gonna be. So let me just pray you out. Heavenly Father, we love you so much. Jesus, we thank you for what you have done for us.
We thank you that you sent us the Holy Spirit to speak to us, to speak through us, that it's not just about us. We need to hear your voice so that we can stay the course. We need to hear your voice so that we can be empowered for our assignment. We need to hear your voice so that we can be healed spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
We need to hear your voice so we will not be led astray into false doctrine, doctrines of demons, God. We need your voice so that we can see you and be intimately connected with you and know that we're never alone, no matter what comes at us in our life. It's your voice that is our comfort. It's your voice that is our assurance. It is your voice that is the shield that goes before us that defeats the enemy.
before us. So we thank you Father for your voice. We want to hear your voice. We want to expand the ways that we hear your voice. So we ask God for grace through the Holy Spirit to be diligent, to carve out time, to hear your voice every day. And we just give you all the praise and the glory in Jesus' almighty, matchless, majestic name. And everybody said...
Amen. Amen. All right, guys. Well, I love you. And I'm so glad that you were all here with me. I'm gonna get back to the chat and yeah, make time to listen to God. So good. So good. Very true. Well, guys, I absolutely loved it. Have a wonderful week. And if I don't see you before then, I will see you next Tuesday. Same place, same bat channel, 730. Talk to you soon. God bless.
