Hi everyone, my name is America Castillo and I'm currently trying to convince my little sister to do a podcast with me. In the meantime, let me tell you about our new upcoming show, Las Chismosas del Valle. A couple years ago, I started listening to podcasts and I quickly realized that the ones I were listening to were mainly hosted by white men and I was like, ew. And eventually I found other Lionx podcasts that I love and listen to, and they all in a way inspire me to create my own podcast. Because honestly, I am so tired of listening to white men's opinion on things. The difference between me and half of the white men who have a podcast is that I actually am studying journalism. So before I graduate, it's probably time I put my degree to work. I've always wanted to start a podcast, but I didn't know what to talk about. I'm an immigrant. I have DACA. I live in a mixed status household, so I am expected to talk about immigration. But I love other things. I like arts and entertainment, tech, and as much as I hate politics, I think it's super important that we talk about it. So I guess we will be talking about everything. We want to interview professionals and experts, of course, but we also want to talk to everyday people and see what's on their mind and what cool things they're doing. So if you know someone that you want to hear more of, let's try to talk to them. But I could not do this without my little sister because she's a Gen Z and she keeps me up to date on things and she's honestly just much cooler than me. So while I try to convince her to be a co-host, get to know us on social media at lat underscore amediquita at Fanny Lu and at La Chismosa del Valle. Las Chismosas del Valle will be out in a few weeks. Also, while I'm here, shout out to my uncle for laughing at my major and asking, give us a sed La Chismosa del Valle, because I ended up liking that sound of that, and now we're here.
