Through candid reflections and personal anecdotes, I explore the responsibility of using my platform to navigate life's challenges and stay true to my purpose.

Speaker 1:

In my first term I sang Al Green.

Speaker 2:

In my second term, I'm going with Young Jeezy. Michelle said yeah.

Speaker 3:

I sing that to her sometimes.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry.

Speaker 2:

These United States of America. We are not a vessel for the schemes of wannabe dictators, of wannabe dictators. The United States of America is the greatest idea humanity ever devised. So, america, let us reach for that future, let us fight for this beautiful country we love. And in seven days, we have the power each of you has the power, to turn the page and start writing the next chapter in the most extraordinary story ever told. I thank you all. God bless you, and may God bless the United States of America.

Speaker 3:

Yes, it is that time Every four years, after the Olympics, it is that time I am enthused. After the Olympics, it is that time I am enthused. I'm also grateful that I found a way to vote and support Mrs Harris. Mr Tim Walls, vice President Harris, I've already casted my vote and I encourage you all to do the same. I'm doing my, my, my duty, to use my platform responsibly, unlike a lot of you insults and you other four letter curse words. Um, if you want to, if you are on the other side, stay over there. Ain't nothing for us to negotiate, ain't nothing for us to discuss. I ain't no sense in reasoning with these clowns if the circus is well at work, in the words of the great Kendrick Lamar. Speaker 3:

Where we explore the intricacies of life, love and growth through candid conversations, thought provoking topics. The Accidentally On Purpose podcast, where we aim to live intentionally, even when life seems accidental and I can say that from experience, because things have been a little accidental, but a purpose in my life has been. I've been walking in my purpose in life. So I kind of feel I guess you know purposely fulfilled. I guess the words are escaping me, but it's a weird thing to describe. Sometimes I feel like God gives you a gift that's only for you and when you try to explain it to somebody else, it sounds crazy. So I think that's what's going on right now. A lot of great things have been happening and I will not be before you long today, no pie.

Speaker 3:

Last week, my lady and I we went to see Maxwell Jasmine Sullivan In October London Incredible concert. I'm so glad that she was able to Get those tickets for your boy Because it happened, the. The concert was on the 23rd and if you have been following the accidentally on purpose podcast or you know me personally, then you know, uh, what that day means to me. October 23rd is actually the day my mother passed away. Um, in 2018, and I'm not a I'm not one that believes that. Um, you know it gets easier over time. Um, I find comfort in knowing that. You know she's everywhere, that I am. I feel her spirit. I talk to her every day. You know I go to my spot and, um, I know she's proud, I know she's looking down proud and I just ask her to keep talking. To the man up there, to you know, send some, uh, blessings, many more blessings my way. So thank you to my love for doing that. Much appreciated, and it was an amazing concert. The vocals were on point. Um, we talking three of the greatest vocalists ever in in october.

Speaker 3:

London is new, but shout out to October, london, another Indiana boy from South Bend. I'm from the city, naptown, indianapolis is what they call it, but we're only two and a half hours apart. Fun fact I used to live in South Bend, right on South Bend Avenue, and I have an uncle that still works at the University of Notre Dame, which is my team, my college football team, and, yeah, we got a lot of roots, a lot of family go there. I wouldn't be surprised if he and I are related some way somehow, but I was very proud to man, just witness his vocals and the way he just owned that stage. He came out there with one guitarist, a glass of bourbon and a cigar and, damn, I sound country cigar, cigar. Um, yeah, it was great.

Speaker 3:

And then Jasmine, I mean, what can you say, man, she just take you through all the fields and her vocals are unmatched. She actually moved up in my top five vocalists of all time. I got to put her at like man, two or three, two or three, I'm still. I'm still on that mariah wave. I'm talking 90s, mariah, I don't, you know, ain't nobody. When am I singing like that? I'm sorry, man, but yeah, she's in there.

Speaker 3:

And then the cap it off of maxwell, who's been, who's been doing this for close to 30 years. And you know he walked through the crowd and the way he came out we were all looking at the stage but he was behind us. They had another stage and he came from underneath there and it was just amazing, you know, for him to be doing this so long. No backtracking, dancing, singing, all on beat, not missing a note, just on point um, it was very super bowl ish. So once again, thank you for uh taking me to that concert, getting my mind off of the tough day. And uh, yeah, man, my lady, she's the best. Love her to pieces seven miles past heaven. Can't wait to continue to do life with you.

Speaker 3:

So Today I didn't really have much. I don't have a docket, I don't have a title or anything of that nature. I really just wanted to hop on here and encourage everybody to go vote. Early voting is already open and you already know what we tend to deal with at the polls. I remember when I lived in Houston last election cycle and the Proud Boys showed up to the voting poll. But what they don't know is we got guns too. I'm not encouraging that in any shape or form, but Houston, texas, is an open carry state and I'd be damned if anybody interferes with my right to vote and who I want to vote for, right to vote and who I want to vote for. So if you can get out there and go early vote, try to avoid the crowds, the confusion, and you know, let's, let's do the right thing, let's put the right person in office.

Speaker 3:

This ain't even about a Democratic, republican or independent party. This is about wrong and right, and Kamala can't get no writer and that other dude, that orange looking dude, can't get no wronger. I don't even know if those are words, but I'm using them today because I feel that passionately and that strongly about it. I've lived through the other guys presidency once, and in houston it wasn't a pleasant experience, you know, um them folks had a battery in their back. They had. They felt like they had the right to disrespect us in our face. Call us all names. You know I've been cut off and called a nigger by a dude that had a confederate sticker on his truck. You know I've been profiled many times while living in Texas and living through that presidency. I don't want to go through that again, but this time around at least I'm in California.

Speaker 3:

So let's do the right thing and put the right person in office. Let's elect the first black woman and let's let's elect the first woman. You know, for that matter, I think I think a woman running this country would do wonders. You know, men were more ultimately driven by ego and we lead with emotion. And it's funny to say that Because people think women are emotional and I'm going to go out of here and say I think, as of late, men have become more emotional than women. We do things out of emotion, we disrespect out of emotion, we don't strategize. We're just at an all-time low as far as that goes. So let's do the right thing, man Get in an office, go out and vote. I encourage you.

Speaker 3:

Anybody that comes across this podcast and hears this message go vote, use your right, because if you don't vote, I don't want to hear you complaining about shit because you didn't contribute to trying to change things around. Don't listen to these rappers, bloggers and entertainers that are only in the other guy's pockets and you know they're pushing false agendas for propaganda and salary. As Kendrick said, man, watch the party die. It's going to age so gracefully. So do the right thing. I did my job, my lady did her job, my sister, my father, my bonus mom. You know I'm proud to say I come from a voting family and we try to make a difference and, um, yeah, I just I'm, I'm praying that god creates the outcome in a landslide fashion. So there's no doubt, you know, and no drama with the, with the results and things of that nature. So do the right thing. Moving on, um, y'all know we typically talk about relationship talk.

Speaker 3:

I ain't got nothing to offer at this point in time, man, I think I'm in a happy place with my relationship and I'm just grateful, you know, just really grateful to do life with a person. That is normal. You know, just really grateful to do life with a person that is normal. And I honestly think that I just think God took me, through a lot of detours of love, to bless me with what I believe to be the greatest woman to do life with, along with. You know, the perfect complement to his vision. And I think the way that we're growing at the rate that we're growing is just a testament of if you just keep him in the center of your relationship, if you are a believer, everything is going to work out, because there was times where things look very, very meek, you know, and very kind of dark. It was a time where I kind of gave up on love, and I'm saying that as a person. I've been on both sides. I've been a fuck boy and I've been the one getting fucked over. But what I learned is I am not here on this earth to Misuse or mistreat anybody, and also vice versa. People aren't put on this earth to misuse and treat us any kind of way, but In order to unlock those things, you really got to walk in your purpose. You got to understand yourself. You have to love yourself before you can expect somebody else to love you. That way, you're able to recognize red flags and things that you do not want to put up with. And I think the journey of my singleness made me whole and I'm able to, you know, be a whole man, not a, not a half-ass man, a whole man to my woman, and I look forward to the things that we're going to accomplish together. You know, the process was enough to make my, me or anybody else go crazy. I'll say that again. The process was enough to make me or anyone go crazy, but you know, with know, with this being the end result Of my dating woes, I can honestly say that the process was worth it.

Speaker 3:

I never underestimate the power of prayer. I'm a praying man, I'm a fasting man, and it led me to positioning myself To receive God's blessing and what he had for me, not only in my love life, but in my professional life, in my personal life. Fasting and praying will unlock those things that may seem a little, uh, smeared at the moment, or or you can't achieve them. God don't make a way, um, so yeah, but I do have one story to tell. I thought this was very funny. Um, here, let me, let me get uh cue my music, music. As uh glorilla would say, go check out our album too. Great album. Uh, tyler creator, his album was very dope. I, I hear mr morale and the big step is all through there, and he even said that. So I'm glad he shouted, shouted out k-dai and, and that album is gonna age gracefully moving right along, though so I, um, I want to shout out all the people that try to spin the block.

Speaker 3:

Chris brown once said that grass ain't greener on the other side. I should not be quoting him after the documentary that I just watched, but hey, he made great music. Once upon a time a woman on his told me I can't date you because you don't have an iPhone. Mind you, I don't have any kids. I am a career person. I make decent money. You know six figures. I have been divorced, but I didn't come with any baggage. Ain't no alimony. Ain't nobody crazy stalking me. It was a very amicable split. Um, I go to therapy, not abusive. Um, I even eat sea moss Like it, it.

Speaker 3:

It baffled me when she said that and I'm like, wow, this is crazy. So she told me that, cool, I'll just move along. I found what I was searching for. So I get a random text out of nowhere, you know, like hey, thought about you, Hope all is well. I didn't reply, so she doubled back hey wasn't sure if you got my message, just wanted to see how you was doing. Still didn't reply. So she doubled back hey wasn't sure if you got my message, just wanted to see how you was doing. Still didn't reply. Thirdly, she said hey, I know you're mad at me for what I said, and you was right. I just sent her a thumbs up. Fourth reply I didn't work out With, you know, the guy that I was dating.

Speaker 3:

He ended up cheating on me and I now realize what you were trying to tell me. Oh, okay, that's cool. I wish you the best and much success. But that door is forever closed. I'm preparing for an engagement. I'm preparing for A marriage, a commitment of life. Your shallow desires Blocks your blessing. I can't do nothing for you, so I'm going to Delete this. Your shallow desires blocks your blessing. I can't do nothing for you, so I'm going to delete this number and block you. And that's how that ended and it was like a kind of like an affirmation. You know it further? Let me know that it wasn't me.

Speaker 3:

There are a lot of people out here that have shallow desires, and those shallow desires will block your blessings. Man, like we get so fixated and hung up on the material things, what a person possesses, I've always been a strong believer that my self-worth is more than my net worth. And for a woman to decline me Even the opportunity just to get to know her, I don't even know. I could have, you know, been not the person for her, could have been a person for her. But to not even afford somebody the opportunity because of the type of phone that they have, even though I'm communicating with you right now on this same goddamn phone, it's very laughable right now, but it is what it is. Man, um, god works in mysterious ways. This is all I can say. So I firmly believe that those shallow desires will hinder you from permanent blessings.

Speaker 3:

And moving out here to socal, I realized that a lot of people have very, very, very shallow desires, down to the type of cologne that you wear, or rooftop dinners, or you praying over the food, the kind of phone you have. You know, it was just, it's just a lot, and it really is telling that our society is fixated on the wrong things. You know, I think people attack situations in relationships and dating. I think they attack those transactional, uh, or transactionally I don't even know if that's a word but yeah, man, uh, true love is not transactional, it's unconditional, it's unwavering. You know, all you got to do is read first corinthians. It's unwavering. You know, all you got to do is read first Corinthians. So, yeah, that was.

Speaker 3:

I just found that to be very funny that I was right and I try to tell you, because you know, when she said that, I said OK, that's very shallow of you to say that, and it don't matter what kind of phone you have. If a man is not committed to you, he's going to be, he's going to find a way not to be committed to you, whether that's with a Samsung iPhone, a Google Pixel, a flip phone, whatever you know. Fuck, fuck. Boys come in all shape, forms and sizes and they possess all things. A phone shouldn't define the character of a person that you're trying to get to know, of a person that you're trying to get to know, but because your mind is fixated on that and you are ran by society instead of running society. Here you are alone, got cheated on in my dms. Shout out to her god bless you. I wish you the best on your love journey. But it ain't here, peace. So I found that to be a little funny man, but that's pretty much all I had. I really just. But it ain't here, peace. So I found that to be a little funny man, but that's pretty much all I had. I really just wanted to hop on here real quick To get people to vote, share that funny story and encourage people to, you know, do the right thing.

Speaker 3:

And I appreciate everybody that has been tuning in To the Heavy on the R&B. Yesterday I did a day session and it was great. Really got some people through their work days and I've been revisiting a lot of uh 2000s r&b. The 90s was on point, but I think we overlook a lot of early 2000s r&b as well, because there was some great, great r&b that came out of there.

Speaker 3:

Man, I remember city high and at that time I didn't understand it. But damn, what would you do if your son was alone crying on the floor because he's hungry and all you? You gotta toss ass and and bounce ass to make a little money. I know I'm butchering their lyrics, but that was a heavy song, man. I remember Nivea and Youngbloods and Lil Jon OK playing it at the had to be in ninth grade, the Valentine's Day dance. Just a lot of nostalgic memories. And I tend to live in nostalgia because today sometimes it's very hard to bear, just like today's world and how negative it is. So it was good to reflect. But, man, I appreciate y'all checking me out definitely will be dropping more content on the way in the meantime. In between time, please put value in yourself, put value in each other so we can have a value society. I say all that to say get y'all asses out and go vote peace.
