How did you like the episode?

My name’s Jacob and this is the Awakened Intelligence podcast; an easy to digest news and education podcast covering Artificial Intelligence. AI is a technical subject, and this very brief episode answers two questions you might have:

Why does this podcast exist? It’s easy to get lost in the AI hype train and buried under technical papers. The technical nature of this subject turns away anyone who hates math or doesn't want to spend hours reading papers. Myself and several colleagues make jokes about how hard it is to read some artificial intelligence papers and understand these concepts. Yet, the contents of these papers can change lives if they ever saw daylight.

Why should you tune in to this podcast?  I have over 7 years of software development experience and have been in the AI research space for the last 5. I've also been a teaching assistant for the past 3 years and informally mentored several colleagues/classmates during my time in academics. I may not be the best expert on AI, but that's not my mission. My mission is to make this content more digestible so we can have more AI experts in the world.

Outside of the time I've already spent in academia, I dedicate hours of research to individual topics and cross referencing information to ensure it's legit. While some information may change, I ensure the information presented is as accurate as possible. I do my best to teach meaningful concepts without over hyping AI and try not to bore you with technical details. There are many sources of information out there, and my goal is to condense the good stuff into an easily digestible format.

Hello everyone, my name’s Jacob and this is the Awakened Intelligence podcast.

It’s easy to get lost in the AI hype train and buried under technical papers.

My goals for this podcast are to make AI easier to understand and keep you up to date on the latest developments.

Why should you listen to me? I’ve been in the artificial intelligence research and development space for almost 5 years.

I hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science with a focus on AI and have led various AI R&D projects.

I’m currently in my doctoral studies for, you guessed it, AI -and I also assist teaching undergraduate courses at my university.

After listening to my uncertain colleagues and family franticly talk about AI this past year, I realized one thing:

There is a faster and more efficient method for reaching a much larger audience outside of academia: this podcast.

There are many other researchers that have way more experience than I do talking on this subject.

If AI interests you, I’d strongly suggest you listen to them as well. They have great insights on the subject.

But my focus is to make the last few decades of research easy to digest so anyone can get caught up with what has happened.

There’s not enough AI researchers talking about this to the general public.

Most literature requires years of experience to put into action.

AI-as-a-service products are still too new to be considered stable.

And most news outlets pump out catchy headlines with zero intention on educating their audience.

This podcast will address all of these needs and more.
