1. The Art of Storytelling! A Student Showcase Project
Does your student love graphic novels or comics? Library Services encourages first graders through seniors in non-charter schools to participate in the The Art of Storytelling Cartooning Student Showcase. Head to the link in our shownotes for entry requirements and details. Winners will be featured at the Steam Expo on May 2, 2026.
2. Five North High Student Films at the DocuWest Film Festival✅
Five North High student films were chosen to be part of the DocuWest Film Festival. The festival is happening this weekend at the Holiday Theater (2644 West 32nd Avenue). The student films will be presented on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 3:35pm.

3. Rise and Read Parent Training
Guardians can register to join the Rise and Read Parent Training session to boost their child’s reading skills! The workshop includes Free books + tips.
- the Spanish session will be on November 3 at 8 a.m.
- An English session will be held on November 5th at 6 p.m.
- And the Vietnamese session will be on November 15 at 10:30

Join us for a vibrant celebration of student artistry, excellence and community at Lake Middle School! Enjoy family workshops, book giveaways, inspiring student performances and a free lunch.
