The San Antonio Sports Medicine Podcast is our answer to creating a go-to informational resource for the Athletic Trainer in South-Central Texas. We are a group of Athletic Trainers working for the largest medical provider in our area. Our circle goes east to west from Gonzales to Brackettville and north to south, south Austin to Cotulla. While having a workforce of over 100 athletic trainers and partnerships at over 170 programs, we strive to be the communication point for thousands of athletic trainers, coaches, parents, and athletes. Our goal is to take care of our patients and advance the profession of athletic training. While our profession has drastically changed over the last 2 years, we understand that we must adapt and educate to keep the profession moving in the right direction. Our hope is to be informative, educational and entertaining while talking to leaders in our area about topics that directly affect athletic trainers in South Central Texas.

Episode 7 - Elton Crochran - Head Strength and Conditioning Coach - Veterans Memorial High School
Coach Elton Crochran or Coach Croc is the Head S&C Coach at Veterans Memorial HS in San Antonio, TX. Prior to coaching at Veterans, Coach Croc has spent the past 2 years teaching and coaching at various high schools. Before transitioning to high school S&C, Coach Croc spent over 7 years as a collegiate S&C coach with stops at Marshall University, Incarnate Word and Texas A&M University-Kingsville where he spent over a year as the Head S&C coach. Coach Croc currently holds his NSCA CSCS, and master's degree in Kinesiology from Hardin-Simmons University.
Today we sit Down with Coach Croc and talk shop about how Judson ISD is leading the path in the San Antonio area by hiring full time strength and conditioning coaches at each high school. We talk through coach Crocs background and how the transition from college athletics has showed him how every high school needs a strength and conditioning coach.
