Leave it to the incomparable Viola Davis to cause quite the internet kerfuffle. Last week, on her birthday, the Oscar winner tweeted a photo of the ramshackle home she grew up in, along with text that read, "The above is the house where I was born August 11, 1965. It is the birthplace of my story. Today on my 55th year of life....I own it....all of it."
The internet went wild for this powerful story of Davis reclaiming her childhood home.
Except none of it was true.
