Nonviolence Daily
Nonviolence Daily is a thought-for-the-day from Gandhi with a short and inspiring commentary from Professor Michael Nagler from the Metta Center for Nonviolence.
Nonviolence Daily
Day 344
The proper way to view the present outburst of violence throughout the world is to recognize that the technique of unconquerable nonviolence of the strong has not been at all fully discovered as yet.

People say, “Nonviolence doesn't work. You can't cite any historical example.” I say, “Well, actually, you know, I can cite some historical examples, but we haven't tried it. If you haven't tried something, you can't pass judgment on whether it has worked or not.” So, once again, he had this very broad, historical outlook.
He knew where he stood in the march of history, and he was able to explain that the apparent lack of success of nonviolence had nothing to do with the with the principle itself, but with the fact that we have not really applied it.
