This passage in Satyagraha in South Africa does show so well how a person who is deeply grounded in inner peace influences all those around him or her. In fact, everyone influences all those around him or her. But it becomes noticeable and very beneficial when you have a person like that whose mere presence helps to dampen conflict. There is a lot of work beyond that often must be done, but it's really good for us to know that you have what's called non-local consciousness in science, how we influence one another.
