Hi and Welcome to The Outlet, The Voice of Queenstown.

In this Podcast, following  some catastrophic weather events around the country, we've all been thinking about our food supply chains and seeing some empty spaces on supermarket shelves. Recently WAO has conducted a food resilience survey, talking to the community and various stakeholders in the community, and the results have been released.  Julia Blackford updates us on those results.

And The Southern Lakes Sanctuary was established in 2021 to unite and expand conservation work in the Queenstown Lakes District. Their focus is on predator control.  Paul and the team are working on intergrating and using technology to enhance conservation efforts, including trialing new techniques like environmental DNA and AI monitoring. Paul Kavanagh is the Project Director for The Southern Lakes Sanctuary and he joins me know on the Outlet.
