On this episode, Andrea and Marsha discuss the October 1992 General Conference talk, “Spiritual Bonfires of Testimony,” by Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin.
Elder Wirthlin compares our testimonies to spiritual bonfires—fires that must be carefully built and consistently maintained. Just like a bonfire provides warmth and protection, a strong testimony can protect and sustain us throughout life.
As he teaches:
“We are all vulnerable to attack. However, we can fortify ourselves with the protection provided by a burning testimony that, like a bonfire, has been built adequately and maintained carefully.”
Throughout history, we’ve seen the Lord make inspired changes to programs within the Church. While programs and procedures may change, our testimony of Jesus Christ is what anchors us. This episode explores the importance of strengthening and nurturing that testimony so it continues to burn brightly, no matter what changes come our way.
