On the scale of the province of Alberta, Parkland County is small, but on the scale of their energy impact, they’re placing a big focus.

Allan Gamble, Mayor of Parkland County, spoke to Maria McGowan of the Reimagined Energy Podcast about the county's focus on energy investment diversification and the importance of energy security. To enhance energy reliability, Parkland County is exploring the potential of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) to provide low-carbon energy solutions. Essential to its success is public education to dispel myths surrounding nuclear energy. Parkland County and Strathcona County are host partners for the SMR Canada Summit - a conference from March 4 - 5, 2025.
