39. Cecil Plummer, CEO Fastr AI on the importance of DEI & board diversity

Today's episode is with Cecil Plummer who I've had the pleasure of knowing for over 15 years. He currently is CEO at Fastr AI, which is an AI startup offering a plug in for recruiting systems. Prior to FastrAI, Cecil was the President and CEO of the Western Regional Minority Supplier Development Council. He won the National Minority Supplier Development Council’s Council of the Year award in 2019, 2021, and 2023. Under his leadership, the organization achieved record-breaking growth for six consecutive years, including a 300% increase in revenue, 5X growth and retention in clients, a 400% increase in profitability, and a 25% growth in constituents. The organization also attained its highest-ever employee engagement scores.
Cecil successfully oversaw services and led global rollouts for world-renowned brands, including Apple, HP, GE, GM, Ford, Aramark, NPC (a subsidiary of National City Bank), Fluor Daniel, and Robert Half.
In 2023, Cecil is honored as one of the Top 100 Most Influential Leaders by the San Francisco Business Times, receiving the Trailblazer Award from the State of California’s Insurance Commissioner and the Collaborator Award from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council West.
