Hero or Dick
Welcome to Hero or Dick — the podcast where Kate and KJ dig into the strange, funny, and unforgettable corners of history, pop culture, and everything in between. Each episode, we take on famous (and infamous) figures, events, and ideas, breaking them down with humor, insight, and just enough irreverence to ask the question that matters: hero…or dick?
From legendary icons to the odd stories behind movies, music, and everyday life, we pull the threads that make people and moments extraordinary. Along the way, you’ll get Kate’s infamous Fast Five lists (and KJ forgetting his), personal anecdotes, and plenty of chances to weigh in with your own takes.
Ever wondered if a celebrated artist was secretly a scoundrel? Or if a movie villain actually had a point? We live in those gray areas — the messy, funny, human places where the line between hero and dick isn’t so clear.
Join us bi-weekly for deep dives, playful banter, and the kind of conversations that leave you laughing, thinking, and maybe a little surprised. Whether you’re here for the history, the pop culture, or just to see if Kate finally got her car back, Hero or Dick is your go-to podcast for stories that entertain as much as they reveal.

Introduction and Technical Challenges
Speaker 1We're live hey. Hello everyone, it's Kate.
Speaker 2And KJ. Nothing in that order.
Speaker 1We're going back in time and we're recording directly on an iPhone.
Speaker 2We don't have our headphones on.
Speaker 1I don't know, it feels kind of. Things are falling apart because yesterday I came into the studio to check things out and we had a water leakage. We had a flood, the flood. The flood, the spring flood. And so we were supposed to tape. Do they say tape? We were supposed to tape yesterday, record yesterday, oh, look it. Glad those are straight hairs.
Speaker 2Saw some hairs on the table.
Speaker 1Anyhow, that must have been from the cleanup crew. Oh, wait, that was me anyway, we got it cleaned up and we're back and, uh, I got a new phone and so it doesn't work with our recording equipment. I mean it would well if I had the right adapter.
Speaker 2You just need a new adapter.
Speaker 1But it's still season three, episode four right and you want to know how, why I had to get a phone.
Speaker 2Why did you get a phone?
Speaker 1Because I'm nice, because I had an upgrade, my phone was paid off. My daughter you've met her, I have she's delightful. She got out of the car, dropped the phone in slush. Oh, and that was that.
Speaker 2You can't try that out. We tried, we even took it over to old Wolfpack Technologies.
Speaker 1By the way, shout out, those guys are great over there, very helpful.
Speaker 2Where are they?
Speaker 1Over in the Thunder Is it called the Thunder Bay Shopping Center? Which one's over there?
Speaker 2I think it is called the Thunder Bay Shopping Center.
Speaker 1Yeah, I would say, if you need a computer repaired, a phone repaired, anything techie stuff like that.
Speaker 2Wow, good to know what's their name again.
Speaker 1Wolfpack Technologies. Wolfpack Wolfpack.
Speaker 2Oh.
Speaker 1Oh, so anyway, but Jovi is paying me $300 and some bucks for my phone, so that worked out okay.
Speaker 2Oh, she has many jobs, so she can pay you.
Speaker 1She's a charlatan. So anyway, we're back.
Speaker 2This is called hero or dick yeah, it is, and this week's episode is about jacqueline panics isn't it a beautiful name, joaquin joaquin phoenix?
Speaker 1but his name wasn't that?
Speaker 2no, it wasn't. What was it? What was it originally? It was originally joaquin, but then he changed it to leaf or his family did for his acting purposes because he his brother. He's the middle of five kids and his older brother, river phoenix, very famous, very cute in his day, very dead very dead uh.
Speaker 2And then he has a sister, rain, and then joaquin, middle of five. So that says a lot about someone right there. But then he has two younger sisters named liberty and summer. It's like how did you get a normal name like joaquin?
Speaker 1somewhat normal and guess where he was born I know where he's born san juan, puerto rico. Yes, in october 28, 1974 was I there then yeah, nowhere is born. San Juan, puerto Rico. Yes, in October 28, 1974. Was I there then? Yeah, you were. No, you left in 73.
Speaker 2No, I was just gone. Sorry, Joaquin, wasn't there for your birthday.
Speaker 1You left in 73, right? Yeah, look at me.
Speaker 2Yeah, it was 10. We're building a personal history here, so I wasn't quite there anymore.
Speaker 1Who were his parents?
Speaker 2I can't tell you their names Arlen, I might have them somewhere John Lee, and his actual last name is Bottom B-O-T-T-O-M.
Speaker 1And they came through that whole thing about the rising phoenix, yeah.
Speaker 2Because they belonged to a cult.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2When the kids were young.
Speaker 1Children of God.
Speaker 2And is that what it was called Children of God? And yeah, there was some weird stuff going on.
Speaker 1They were good with it until like 1977, when the cult started exploiting women and children. They actually used a technique called flirty fishing.
Speaker 2I wrote that down too, because I thought that was awesome. I mean, no, I don't think they should do that no, no, flirty fishing, flirty fishing. So what is flirty fishing?
Speaker 1Well, they go out there with their womanly parts and they seduce people into being in the cult.
Speaker 2So it has nothing to do with fishing.
Speaker 1Well, they're fishing.
Speaker 2Well, they're fishing Well they're fishing for people. Okay, the female fisherwomen would apply their sex appeal on the fish. The men from outside the cult, this is weird. Yeah, they left the group in 77 disillusioned with the rules many rules, as many cults have a lot of rules, yeah, especially the practice of flirty fishing. Flirty fishing, but I kind of like that term. I do too, it sounds enticing.
Speaker 1Where are you going tonight, honey? I'm going flirty fishing.
Speaker 2I'm going flirty fishing. What are you doing?
Speaker 1Down by the river. They were homeschooled, those kids.
Speaker 2Oh God.
Speaker 1If you're in a cult. This kind of goes in the transient lifestyle. So, which is impressive, that you know you're in a cult. Your parents are free thinkers, I guess you'd call it. They're out there and flirty fishing, but he still ends up and river.
Speaker 2They end up being fucking famous, like that's no easy feat, it's well yeah, but their family helped them too. They liked acting and I'll have to look through my notes. But Joaquin even says I like acting, I like doing it and it's fun for me, even though I get anxiety before it. But who doesn't? Who wouldn't get that before they?
Speaker 1you know, well, you got some anxiety when you were in that, right before they you know well, you got some anxiety when you were in that film this summer, or didn't you? Okay?
Speaker 2well, you were. What was it called? Again, I wasn't in a film yeah, the island thing oh that was, that was a year ago last summer I did not like being, uh, a actor. No, why? Okay, whatever they say, don't look at the camera.
Speaker 1It's like did he say, look right directly at the camera because, I'm looking at the camera I love watching movies or tv shows like seinfeld, like if they're in the restaurant to see which background people are looking at the camera and then they're like fake talking, fake talking, fake talking, yeah um but joaquin likes it.
Speaker 2Before we get too far away from, he was born not with a cleft lip, but a microform cleft, which I don't really know the difference. I think it's just not as severe and he had surgery on it and that's a scar right there, got it okay, so it really defines him. I think he started working with river and his name then was leaf yep, they were in some commercials space camp space camp in 86.
Speaker 289 was parenthood, 95 to die for breakthrough role right there to die for yep, I don't remember that movie, what they call?
Speaker 1kidman, the woman that doesn't age. Oh, she does not.
Speaker 2Isn't it?
Speaker 1fascinating.
Speaker 2It's weird, she is like a Stepford wife.
Speaker 2She was in that movie. Yeah, that was a good one too. She's a the first movie I saw her in. Getting totally off track is one. I can't think of the name of it, but they were on a boat. Her and her husband were on a boat and some guy's like, oh hey, I need some help, they're all in the middle of nowhere in the ocean. And he ended up being a bad guy like a pirate guy, oh boy. And she had to chase him down, like with a harpoon, what she did.
Speaker 1Yeah, it was a good movie and I will look up that she went flirty fishing.
Speaker 2She whacked that guy with a harpoon um quills was one yep, and then I did not.
Speaker 1That's supposed to be really good quills. Well, I don't know.
Speaker 2That's what they told me online well, I do like his choices of movies. Um, I think his breakout role was in gladiator yeah, you're right he was nominated for an academy award for his portrayal of comandos and oh, and he was so evil.
Speaker 1I mean, you wanted to kill him, and that's what I think he was going for he got in trouble in that movie by the director because he took the part so far that he thought that, if I'm remembering correctly that Commodus getting stressed out and anxious and wanted to bone his mom in that movie, whatever was going on.
Speaker 2Okay, I thought it was his sister. Whatever, whoever's available in the family family reunion.
Speaker 1He wanted to show the anxiety and the loss by losing weight. He lost like 20 pounds while they were taping and they're like no, you can't eat something. But he's what would you call it? Is that a method acting?
Speaker 2I don't know if that's called.
Speaker 1Yeah, I think it is when you're like, you're the.
Speaker 2You become him.
Speaker 1That's it.
Speaker 2Because he did that for Walk the Line too, Johnny.
Speaker 1Cash.
Speaker 2That's a great movie. That's a great movie. My personal favorite that he's in is the Village.
Speaker 1Yes, I love the Village M.
Speaker 2Sh. I love the village M Shabalama Night and.
Speaker 1Signs by M Shabalala Night.
Speaker 2Yeah yeah, signs is good too, but the village I did not know the premise of the village going in and I'm not going to say what it is, because people should go and watch it. At the end I remember I went to the theater and my nephew and my daughter was us. We were like the only people in the theater, so we had fun with that, but at the end it was like boom.
Speaker 1Yeah, our minds were blown.
Speaker 2It was really good. It was very good hotel rwanda. He was in also. That was very good. And then walked the line and won a grammy golden globe. Nominated for an academy award. Yeah, he did great as JC.
Speaker 1Yep and Joker.
Speaker 2Oh yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah, Won an Academy Award for Best Actor. He was acclaimed for his acting in. Excuse me, I shouldn't have ate that hot dog on lunch. Her, oh, yeah. And then the Master I guess it was, I didn't see it, but it was inspired by the Scientology there that guy, the founder, and Napoleon was in 2023.
Speaker 2Napoleon was a great movie too. He did a good job. I did find this quote he loves acting and brings him quote instantaneous joy. That's good, I know Everybody should be doing something that quote instantaneous joy.
Speaker 1That's good. Everybody should be doing something that brings them instantaneous joy. Yes, Unless you're hurting other people, Kate. Well, okay, whatever.
Joaquin Phoenix’s Early Life and Family Background
Speaker 2He and River are the first brothers to be nominated for Academy Awards, and he won for the Joker and River actually won for Running on Empty, which is another great movie, river actually one for. Running on Empty which is another great movie. He does admit to anxiety. Perhaps he should hold hands with Pedro Pascal, who also admits to anxiety, but feels better if he holds hands with someone. Pedro, if you're out there. I will hold hands with you anytime.
Speaker 1Here we go.
Speaker 2Anytime Flirty fishing.
Speaker 1Totally flirty fishing. He married his wife there. He met on while filming her right.
Speaker 2While filming the movie. Her, yeah, okay, oh, whoops, oh it's so funny, he was filming her.
Speaker 1He was like hey, how are you? How come you're not?
Speaker 2He did say every movie feels like my first, for good or bad, I suppose. You know you get nervous and anxiety, but you know you're not like phoning it in bill murray ghostbusters lately, the last ghostbusters, yeah, um, oh. He was in a bad car crash in 2006. He was, he was oh, that's right, he was in a very bad car accident and while he was flipped upside down I don't know if he was upside down, but he was in his crushed up car and he heard somebody saying relax.
Speaker 1Go to.
Speaker 2No, they weren't singing that. I'm sorry, that's Frankie.
Speaker 1I'm sorry.
Speaker 2Saying just relax, and he's like I am relaxed. Like he didn't know who was talking to him Maybe I'm sorry. And he found him and told him to relax and he took the lighter out of his hand. He was trying to light a cigarette. There was gas all around him, so he probably saved his life, but that was very traumatic. That's a real thing.
Speaker 1That's a real thing, it's not just a movie thing, if you light, a lighter by gas, no, no, what you're telling me right now?
Speaker 2It really happened.
Speaker 1That doesn't sound real, but that doesn't sound real, but it did. I believe you.
Speaker 2I mean, that's amazing and he got in a crash somewhere in Hollywood, so of course somebody Hollywood-ish is going to find you.
Speaker 1I guess that makes sense.
Speaker 2He's lucky. It was Werner and not you know, tara.
Speaker 1Reid, she would light that cigarette she would have had that cigarette.
Speaker 2They'd both be dead.
Speaker 1No, she wouldn't. She'd live through anything we should deal with something on her.
Speaker 2Oh, so he did live through that. Um, what else can we say about joaquin? His wife, oh, his wife. He met her while filming her um.
Speaker 1They started dating, uh in 2016. What's her name? Runa Mara Rooney Mara.
Speaker 2Oh, Rooney Mara, oh I didn't Remember her.
Speaker 1She was at your party.
Speaker 2No she was no, but she was at a party, wasn't she in? Is she an actress?
Speaker 1Yeah, she was in Mary Magdalene.
Speaker 2Okay, what's the one with Lisa Kudrow and they're at the reunion?
Speaker 1You're okay. What's the one with lisa kudrow and they're at the reunion huh you're making? Isn't that her what? I'll look her up. I don't know. Well, she was in the girl with the girl with the dragon tattoo in 2011, and then a movie called carol in 2015. She's got multiple oscar nominations. Wow, I'm talking like I'm introducing her and she's gonna walk in the door in 2015. She's got multiple Oscar nominations. I'm talking like I'm introducing her and she's going to walk in the door.
Speaker 2What's her name? Rooney? Yep, rooney Mara. I'm thinking of a different girl. Yeah, she's cute.
Speaker 1Well, I wouldn't imagine he'd be going out with Honey Boo Boo, but you never know. Well, he is a vegan too, so I don't think Honey Boo Boo is just chucking down salads.
Speaker 2Isn't she? Maybe she is now. Oh, she was in that movie recently. 2021-ish.
Speaker 1Honey Boo Boo.
Speaker 2No, Rooney Mara. Oh yeah, nightmare Alley, which was a great movie, was it? Yeah, it was real noir-ish.
Speaker 1I don't even know you today pulling these things on the left, I'm pulling it out of google, so I'm not just pulling it out of my head, um, but you know, um, he became a vegan when he was a kid, three years old, because, uh, he had a traumatic, traumatic experience with me watching a fish being killed oh, a fish, a fish but that's good, at least I guess yeah, yeah, good for him.
Speaker 2Like we've talked about vegans and and um, not just in vegetarians.
Speaker 1Good for you, like I can't help that aren't you supposed to eat meat, or was that me?
Speaker 2that was you, I, you, I'm not quick.
Speaker 1No, you're out.
Speaker 2I'm too in, I'm too far in.
Speaker 1You're too far in Speaking of tipping cows. He would not like that, because he does work with PETA and he's narrated documentaries like Earthlings and Dominion.
Speaker 2And there's no reason we need to be mean to animals.
Speaker 1No, I like animals.
Speaker 2But animals eat animals too, so I don't know that's how I justify it. Some animals don't. I watched a show about whales, and they're eating a lot of fish.
Speaker 1They would eat a person too right, If it was in the way.
Speaker 2If it was in the way, they might spit it out too. Have you seen a whale up close? No, Well, yes, but in SeaWorld, so it doesn't count. Not SeaWorld, but Marineland. That's Canadian version.
Speaker 1Everyone loves MarineWorld except Cassidy and some of the current administration.
Speaker 2They don't like anything. They don't like anything.
Speaker 1Well, at least eggs are cheap. That's not their fault. I'm just dicking around everybody, Don't get offended.
Speaker 2Get offended Get mad and have an egg.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay he got arrested in 2020 what'd he do? Well, he was with that fucking rebel jane fonda, she is a rebel.
Speaker 2I love her and, uh, she just had a speech she gave at, I think, the golden, golden globes, and if there's any time in the world to get mad and angry and be an activist, it is now Right. Right now, yeah, right now, and she's another one. She looks great. I know she's had stuff done, because she's said she's had stuff done.
Speaker 1She's like 90.
Speaker 2But she is like well, 80 something, something anyway, and she looks fab, yeah, so I'm glad he's hanging with her um, he's a big supporter of all kinds of charities, so he's I think he's a good dude.
Speaker 1Jane fond is 87 get the fuck out of here?
Speaker 2oh not yet, but yeah, she looks great um, wait, now let's go.
Speaker 1You got more stuff there, and then I talk about something.
Speaker 2I think we covered all that I have on. Okay ready, Ready go.
Speaker 1Remember, and I didn't remember this until I was doing my due diligence, so I don't disappoint you, like I usually do every time we sit down.
Speaker 2Thank you, I was counting on that.
Speaker 1You know, he went a little weird there when he was saying, he was turning into a rapper is this the david letterman appearance?
Speaker 2what?
Speaker 1was the whole thing where he said he was quitting acting to become a rapper and like it looked strangely convincing and I don't know why he did that. Um, I guess it was part of that I'm still here thing he was doing. It was a mockumentary um what year is this? 2010, and that's when he went on letterman and it was just totally bizarre.
Speaker 2It was a bizarre.
Speaker 1I can remember watching that and I don't know if it was one of those hollywood things that was planned and letterman was in on it, maybe, or if it was real because it looked real it looked real and if you haven't seen that. Get on YouTuber there, yeah, and look for he's very bearded and he has shades on and a hat. He's acting like he's on, like Something.
Speaker 2And maybe he was.
Speaker 1Yeah, we don't know, and Letterman gets pretty upset with him.
Speaker 2He does, but is that the shtick? I don't know. Did he work it out with Dave? I love that shit, though Dave would be in on that. He would David Letterman, dave, he looks so cool. Now Does he? Oh, with the?
Speaker 1big beard and stuff With the big beard Kind of skinny.
Speaker 2I think he went vegan too. Oh, he lives in Montana. Why would you go vegan there?
Speaker 1Challenge, I guess, all that game, wild game walking around, I was going to say, oh, there was a film in 2024 that he actually dropped out of by Todd Haynes.
Speaker 2What film was that?
Speaker 1I didn't get the name, but it was something to do with. There was explicit scenes and he didn't want to be involved in that. So whatever that means, what does that mean?
Speaker 2Explicit it's sexual.
Speaker 1Could be or who knows, it could have been like killing an animal killing an animal.
Speaker 2Maybe you didn't want to kill an animal.
Speaker 1You know what. Now that I'm looking at my facts, I think I was wrong about the 20 pounds for gladiator, though I'm sure I saw that for gladiator too, but for joker he lost 52 pounds. Jeez, how does he do that?
Speaker 2how? How does he'm going to drop 50 pounds for this movie? What I would do that I mean not 50, but how can I do that? Do I just need to say I'm in a movie and then?
Speaker 1I don't know. He isolated himself and he stayed in character so he just kind of went loopy and didn't eat. That's scary. That Joker guy was scary. That's like what's his face there? He, that's scary. That Joker guy was scary, that's like what's his face there. He used to date him, matthew.
Speaker 2McConaughey, matthew McConaughey. He is such a cool guy, though, and I think I've said this on this podcast Listen to his book. He reads it himself.
Speaker 1Well, everybody loves his voice. Oh, my God.
Speaker 2It was so hilarious. It was enlightening and hilarious, and he had some sad moments in there too, but he's a cool guy.
Speaker 1Well, he lost like a billion pounds for Dallas Buyers Club or something. Yeah, something like that. He had AIDS in there.
Speaker 2That was a good fucking movie, that was a great movie. But listen to his book or read it. But listen to it, you can get it out of the library.
Speaker 1Library. What's that? Do you think we'll? Have those in the future I don't know, we might not have them anymore. Maybe they're gone, I don't know. I haven't tried it this week. Get rid of libraries it's just a waste. They are books, books reading about stuff. They better not be funded by federal funds either I don't know all right, I'm being a dick again.
Speaker 1Um, he's had public feuds, awkward interviews obviously we talk about one, but he does have a history of walking out of interviews when he's uncomfortable. Oh, um, and he is thankfully known for dismissing the superficial hollywood culture.
Speaker 2I wonder where they live. Does it? It say?
Speaker 1He probably lives in Hollywood.
Speaker 2Probably.
Speaker 1I don't know, but he's worth 80 million bucks, jeez, joaquin. And his wife is worth 20 million, so they're doing okay. Yeah, they're not up to our level, but you know they're getting there, joaquin Joaquin.
Speaker 2Joaquin Joaquin. I think of that, I love that name. I think of that, I love that name.
Speaker 1Well, keep it in mind, see where he lives.
Speaker 2If you get a dog or something, Joaquin Joaquin.
Speaker 1You don't have any pets, do you? No, not right now, just that teddy bear, that possessed teddy bear Just traveling, traveling, traveling. You still have the possessed teddy bear.
Speaker 2I have a. It's a rabbit actually. A possessed rabbit. A possessed rabbit, I love it. I leave it in the guest room. Sometimes people are like can you take that out of my room?
Speaker 1and then, like a day or two later, people are suffering from severe migraines, t and visions well, I don't know where he lives.
Speaker 2Yeah, you'll find out. Makani, he'll tell ya so here is what I say about him. Um, I think he's done some weird shit, but not really dick shit no, no, dick shit no dick shit. And I think that he makes some cool movies and he seems to enjoy doing it, and he's had enough trauma in his life that he should have some fun and joy. So I say hero hero.
Speaker 1For all those reasons and more okay, I really think he's just great at what he does he's phenomenal if he's in a movie I'll watch it. Yep, we should have a marathon a joaquin phoenix what a wide variety of movies too you know, man, now I watch the village got napoleon and gladadiator and then her.
Speaker 2Yeah, you know, they're very different movies.
Speaker 1Do you have?
Speaker 2a fast five, I do.
Speaker 1I knew it.
Speaker 2And these fast fives are all child stars because he and River Joaquin and River were child stars, so the first child star is actually a twofer Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen twins.
Speaker 1Heroes.
Speaker 2I like them. I think they're heroes. They live their life how they want to, so boom.
Speaker 1What was that?
Speaker 2show what Full House.
Speaker 1That's what it was, thank you.
Speaker 2You got it, dude, I believe, was their catchphrase.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's right. Yeah, you got it, dude, I believe was their catchphrase.
Speaker 2Yeah that's right, yeah, you got it, dude. Number two is Neil Patrick Harris.
Speaker 1I was just thinking about him prior to coming here.
Speaker 2Were you, I really was.
Speaker 1Why were you thinking? I saw a picture?
Speaker 2of somebody else. Yeah, I love that guy and I was like man that looks like Neil Patrick Harris.
Speaker 1That was who, what was it.
Speaker 2He was Doogie Howser.
Speaker 1Hockey. Doogie Howser that's what it was, mm-hmm, and he was in that show on CBS about marrying a mother or something.
Speaker 2Oh, I Met your Mother. Yeah, he was in that. He's a big Broadway person too, yeah.
Speaker 1Funny, he's a funny dude. I say hero.
Speaker 2He also lives his life how he wants to, and he can be a little annoying sometimes, kind of bringing it back. But that's okay, right, you know. Okay, here's one you maybe didn't know was a child star lawrence fishburne what was he in as a kid? He was in uh 11 years old. He was on the soap opera one life to live no kidding, I didn't watch that one I used to watch Guiding Light.
Speaker 2And you know what else he was on. He wasn't a child anymore, but he was on Pee-wee's Playhouse. Yes, cowboy Curtis, goddamn right which, speaking of Pee-wee's Playhouse, shout out to, or ballyhoo to, miss Yvonne passed away this week.
Speaker 1She's away this week. She's the most beautiful woman in pup island missy vaughn moment we'll miss you um, yeah, lawrence fishburne, the matrix, oh yeah, and blackish, oh yeah, it's blackish.
Speaker 2Yeah, I was just watching him on, uh, mysteries of something that I don't know about mysteries of something. Yeah, it was on the history channel. It's some history mysteries of some kind and he's the host. Okay, how about? So I'm saying hero because he's in peewee's playhouse. It's cowboy curtis, and I can't mention that without saying the sleepover episode that peewee had at his playhouse. Cowboy Curtis was very angst about staying over because he sleeps in the nude.
Speaker 1Yep.
Speaker 2That's what I let my child watch on Saturday mornings. It's a bit of an adult theme there.
Speaker 1But at least he had the wherewithal to say I need to remove myself from the situation.
Speaker 2Well no, I think he actually wore pajamas that night. That's what it was. Yeah, how about Todd Bridges of Different Strokes? The situation? Well no, I think he actually wore pajamas that night, that's what it was. Yeah, how about todd bridges of different strokes? What todd bridges different stroke?
Speaker 1dick, see a dick, I don't really know much about him, isn't he? I think so never mind, he's just misunderstood oh, I don't know, there was some drugs.
Speaker 2I think there was a murder too. Yeah, that's what I'm gonna say.
Speaker 1I don't know if he did it, but I'm just gonna call him a hero because I don't want. There were some drugs. I think there was a murder too. Yeah, that's right. I'm going to say I don't know if he did it, but he was there. I'm just going to call him a hero because I don't want him to come after me.
Speaker 2Okay, and the last.
Speaker 1Hey, is the other guy still around?
Speaker 2No, I think he died too, that little guy, the little guy.
Speaker 1Who was that? Oh, what you talking about willis yeah, is he? No, I think oh he's dead.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, wait. Now another question is is webster alive? I don't know, dang, I just figured everybody from the 70s was dead was webster a kid ever, or was he an adult playing a kid?
Speaker 1I'm dead serious I don't know.
Speaker 2We'll have to find out websterster.
Speaker 1Oh, you know what Todd Bridges? I don't want him to get mad at me either.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2See, we love you. Todd, yep, todd, todd, I really like that name. Oh, what is it about? Sorry, every Todd in the world.
Speaker 1No, there's a few nice Todds.
Speaker 2Oh God, yeah, but they're going to change your names.
Speaker 1To River Phoenix. No, joaquin Phoenix, joaquin yeah, joaquin or Leaf, how about? Okay? The last one is Jason Bateman. I thought we were supposed to talk about him, but we always do. He's a hero, goddammit.
Speaker 2I do like everything he says.
Speaker 1He's annoying me more and more, though, on those. Those smartless guys are starting to annoy me, are they? They're just making too much money. Well, they just, and they don't let their guests talk.
Speaker 2That is kind of annoying.
Speaker 1And they actually call themselves on it. Yeah, yeah, they make fun of it.
Speaker 2They know they do that they know they do it, but stop doing it.
Speaker 1But Bateman think of that he was on. Little House on the Prairie.
Speaker 2Little House on the Prairie.
Speaker 1As a young child Lots of commercials.
Speaker 2Lots of commercials, and then he was in a family movie with the Seavers. Who were those? Was that him? And he had a the Seavers. Maybe I'm thinking of Michael J Fox. No, he was in some movie and and he was the kid, the smart-ass kid.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, oh he was, he was.
Speaker 2It wasn't.
Speaker 1Richie.
Speaker 2No, it was something.
Speaker 1Sorry, he was Teen Wolf 2. Not one, not so good, no, but he jokes about that too.
Speaker 2He paid his dues. I do believe and he uh was a child star who came out of it pretty well adjusted yeah, I mean he had his moments for sure he talks about the stuff that he doesn't even remember.
Speaker 1Yeah like he lived a kind of a rough, like a risky life.
Speaker 2Yeah, he did.
Speaker 1And now he's, and now he's a dad who just doesn't like to go out places, very often stays at home. His wife and him drive separate, apparently, so that he can just leave whenever he wants. Oh, I'm down with that. Yeah, I like that too. I like leaving places and nobody even know I left.
Speaker 2That's the Irish goodbye, is it? Should we do that right now?
Speaker 1Yep.
