In this week's episode, Bobby and Sarge discuss the weapon of the mind. Verbal Judo. The art of de-escalation. Is it easier to talk a subject down so everybody goes home at the end of shift? Implementing this training takes supervisions insight on the real dangers of police work. We train to use our weapons annually. Why not train our minds? To many officers in our careers have seen those officers who go straight to brute force when a little de-escalation would have prevented a use of force report and injury reports to workers comp.
