Five Keys to Authentic Service and Personal Growth
Tuesday Night Talks introduces a shift in direction, focusing on putting prayer into action through the five principles of charity that can help us define and achieve our "greater next." We explore how service to others, starting with listening, can unlock our purpose and accelerate our spiritual growth.
• Charity begins with listening - becoming quick to hear and slow to speak
• Acting with courage even when circumstances are difficult
• Collaboration allows different perspectives to strengthen your purpose
• Authenticity means no masks, just truth - being relatable and approachable
• Using your voice to lift others rather than punching down
• Leaning into what scares you most while giving others a leg up
This month, turn it UP! Set clear goals for what you want to achieve in June across every area of your life - faith, finances, health, relationships, and purpose. Come out of isolation, be authentic in your approach, and watch as God brings your greater next into reality.

This is what I love. Yes, he is God, my Savior, god, my Savior, god, my healer, god, my healer, god, my deliverer. Yes, he is yes, he is yes, he is yes, he is God, my Savior, god, my Savior, everybody I know he's a healer. God, my Savior, god, my Savior, god, my Healer, god, my Deliverer. Yes, he is yes, he is yes, he is yes, he is. Every prayer, every prayer Is to our God. Every word of worship yes, he is yes, he is. Every praise Is to our God. Every word of worship With one accord Every praise, every praise, every praise, every praise, every praise, every praise, every praise, every praise, every praise, every praise, every praise. All of my worship, all of my praise, every praise, every praise, every praise, every praise, every praise, every praise, every praise, every praise, every praise to our God.
Speaker 1:It's so unusual, it's frightening. You see right through the mess inside me and you call me out to put me in. You tell me I can start again and I don't need to keep on hiding. I'm fully known. Start again and I don't need to keep on hiding. I'm fully no and loved by you. You won't let go, no matter what I do. And it's not one or the other. It's hard truth and ridiculous grace to be known, fully known and loved by you. I'm fully known and loved by you. It's so like you to keep pursuing. It's so like me to go astray, ooh. But you guard my heart with your truth, the kind of love that's bulletproof, and I surrender to your kindness.
Speaker 1:Oh, I'm fully known and loved by you. You won't let go, no matter what I do. And it's not one or the other, it's hard truth and ridiculous grace to be known, fully known and loved by you. I'm fully known and loved by you. How real, how wide, how rich, how high is your heart? I cannot find the reasons why you give me so much. How real, how wide, how rich, how high is your heart? Now, I cannot find the reasons why you give me so much. I'm fully known and loved by you. You won't let go. No, you won't let go, no matter what I do. It's not one or the other. It's hard truth and ridiculous grace to be known, fully known and loved by you. I'm fully known and loved by you. I'm fully known and loved by you. So what do you should what? Let's brighten it. I'm fully known and loved by you.
Speaker 2:Amen. So that song is called Known by Taryn Wells, and I am giving a quick shout out. Obviously, I don't own the rights to the music, so I just like to say a quick shout out because you know we're playing these artists records as we're getting into our version of worship. So I'm going to share some things tonight. We're starting something just a little bit different Tuesday night talks and I think we're going to love it. I think it's good.
Speaker 2:We're changing directions just a little bit and I'm really happy about what we're going to be doing, as I was sharing on Monday, and especially after prayer on Monday that first of all, we have to be flexible when the Lord is telling us to change, um and go in a different direction. The second thing is we can't just keep chewing. You know we have to digest. So we we do a lot of praying, but we also have to put our prayer into action. We actually have to um, uh, do the whole, you know, faith and works thing. So that's what we're going to do tonight.
Speaker 2:I think this is going to be really good, also for those who watch the replay. I believe I am recording on all the channels now, so I did fix that y'all, but I think this is going to be good for those who watch the replay, who don't get a chance to hear or participate in some of the conversations that we have kind of after hours. If you will, I think y'all are going to, I think y'all are going to love this. So, with that said, I'm going to go ahead and start sharing my screen, because we do follow a process here and I just need let me just make sure it's the right week, y'all. I just need someone, if you you could, to just confirm. When you see my screen, it says tuesday night talks. Yes, ma'am did it and we've got better visuals.
Speaker 1:Hello, upgrade hello, hello stop fighting.
Speaker 2:Hello, confirmation, hello. We're doing this thing, okay, because we have a lot of wisdom, you know, between me and my friends. And so for those of y'all who are watching the replay on the YouTube channel especially, I think it's harder because you're not getting a chance to hear us behind the scenes after we complete prayer, when we go into fellowship, and you're missing out on some of the things. But there's a lot of wisdom and expertise and encouragement and things that go on, and so my intention is to bring some of that up front to all of us on Tuesday nights, at least for the month of June. We're going to pilot it and see what happens, and for those of y'all who are watching it, doesn't matter what season of life you're in, whether you're a man or a woman, you know, none of that matters. The intention is us to again, you know, share what we've learned and keep moving forward and turn it up in this month of June. So we still keep a couple of things. We still keep confession. You know I have here, I even changed the slide and even the Lord was like okay, time to switch off and time to move into Psalm 51. Psalm 51 for me is I think I've shared this a lot is when I'm going into any kind of fasting or y'all, I need to get my mind right, my heart right. Psalm 51 is where I go, and so I've pulled out some of the verses here. Psalm 51 is where I go, and so I've pulled out some of the verses here, and so what we're going to do is we're going to speak out, you know, pray, psalm 51. And then also, if you have anything else that you need to confess between you and your Lord, this is your chance to do it.
Speaker 2:Heart posture is something that he gave me. I don't know how many years now I've been trying to reinforce that as much as I can in as many teachings as I can, but it really is, at the end of the day, about our heart posture with our Lord and Savior, jesus Christ. Y'all. It's not about me. I keep reminding people, this is not my ministry. I am a caretaker of what he's given me for as long as I'm here in this assignment, and he's blessed me and blessed all of us. To be honest, all of us have been stretched, all of us have seen a significant increase in our personal life, our spiritual life, and, though everything isn't perfect, right, we all still have the ups, downs and the arounds y'all. But one thing we can say is we know we've seen God's grace, we've seen his mercy, we've experienced joy, all of those things. So our heart posture is really just to get us back in that mindset of, first of all, confessing our sins. All of us are sinful, we've all done and thought the things, we've all said and done the things, all of us right. And so we're putting that before the Lord, we're emptying I call it emptying the cup here, and then we're going to move into the rest of our teaching for the night.
Speaker 2:So Psalm 51, this is obviously the ESV version and it says have mercy. Again, you just read this out and as the Lord starts showing you things that you need to confess, the words that are in bold are for me. The words are in bold are for me. Where, um, where for me it's more of an emphasis between me and the Lord. It might strike you. It might strike you, but uh, that that's there for me and you're obviously welcome to partake.
Speaker 2:Have mercy on me. Oh God, according to your steadfast love, according to your abundant mercy, blot out my transgressions, wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin, for I know my transgressions and my sin is ever before me Against you. You only have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight so that you may be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment. Purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean. Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow. Create in me a clean heart, o God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit.
Speaker 2:But as we release now all of these words and these confessions, we confess everything that we have said or done, things that we are aware of you know, even thoughts that we've had schemes in our hearts, anything that we've plotted, lord God, anything that was sinful. We have sinned against you today. We've used words that were not true. We have sinned against you today. We've used words that were not true. We have spoken evil against our neighbor. All of us have done something to fall short. But we are so, god, we are so blessed because of your mercy and your forgiveness as we are casting out, you know, all of these things in our hearts and our thoughts and our mind.
Speaker 2:Lord, I ask that you create a right heart, a willing heart, the right spirit within us so that we can really tap into what you have to say tonight. Lord, we don't want to be put to shame before our enemies because of what we have done or said. So, lord, I ask that you will clean that clock tonight. Clean it, lord, you know. Wash everything, everything that we've touched and produced with our hands or our tongue. Even losing temper with loved ones, family and friends, losing temper in traffic, being frustrated when we're not getting the answers that we want, and stirring up anger in our own hearts, lord, God for process, for systems and for people.
Speaker 2:Lord, we're casting that all before you tonight and asking you to forgive us. We thank you for your mercy. We know, lord, god, that you're going to bless us. We know that you have already heard our cry. We know that you know what's on our heart. Lord, we want to have the kind of heart that's just all about loving you, serving you and your people. So we thank you as we confess tonight that you've heard and there is no condemnation in Christ, so that when we turn the page, lord, god in Christ, so that when we turn the page, lord God, that we do so in a way that is full of freedom. We are free, you're not beating us over the head for the mistakes that we've made today. I thank you, lord God, for forgiving each and every person under the sound of my voice.
Speaker 2:Lord, we thank you for this clean heart, lord God, and right spirit and the right mindset as we go further into tonight, so that we can hear clearly from heaven. Holy Spirit, we want to hear you clearly. We don't want anything to block our mind. So if there's anything that's going to impede, anything that's going to, you know, twist our thoughts, anything that's going to create distraction or chaos in any way, we ask that you shut that down now, because we want to hear everything that you have to say, lord Jesus, tonight we want deliverance, Lord God, in every area of our life. As we are turning it up in June, lord God, we are walking fully in our purpose and we are claiming every single thing that you have marked and set apart for us. This is winning season for us this month in June, lord God, and we're not going to stop believing that we don't doubt you for not even for a moment. So anything, lord, god, that we have said or done that could be used against us by the enemy, we ask that you shut that down in the name of Jesus Christ now, so we can pursue greatness this month. Thank you, lord, amen, amen, amen, oh, my gosh, y'all. I'm really excited because tonight you know this week, so this is week one, right, because there's four weeks in June.
Speaker 2:We're still talking about moving forward. We're still talking about what greater next means for you, for me. So we started this last week. It was really about you know what does that mean for you? What does your greater next look like? You have to be able to define what that looks like for you, right? Again, the Lord can put you know, the Lord can give you the desires of your heart, but you gotta understand, or you have to have some kind of understanding about what this thing looks like for you. So, if you're moving into your purpose this month, what does the next look like for you, right?
Speaker 2:The second thing and I've got a couple more slides that we're going to come into y'all the second thing is then we're going to talk about how do we apply the principles of charity. Right, and I always say again charity begins at home. We know that, but it also begins at work in your community, and we do it with purpose. Charity really is about serving each other and the folks around us, and even how we take care of ourselves. So we're going to look at what the principles of charity look like, just pulling some things from and I shared this earlier on Facebook and probably LinkedIn as well I had the opportunity to attend something virtually. That was really impactful and I thought it would be really cool to kick off this first week in June with that mindset.
Speaker 2:The last point is you got to set your goals for the month. You got to have an idea of what you're trying to achieve this month. We're not doing anything blindly. We're going to talk about turning it up all we can, all we want to, but you got to have goals in mind and you got to write those goals down someplace so that you can hold yourself accountable. If you have an accountability partner, then you take these goals to your accountability partner and say listen, I'm trying to work on these things this month. I'm trying to turn it up in every area in my life. This month, my faith is turned up, my practices are turned up, my worship is turned up, my health is turned up, my finance is turned up. Well, I'm on fire this month. Okay.
Speaker 2:Greater next means a lot for me and my family. It means that we're coming out of debt. I'm going to find that job. I'm going to pick up that project. I'm going to give 100% on the job. It means I'm going to take care of my house. I mean all of those things. My greater next means I'm going to actually take care of myself. This month, I'm going to experience full joy, whatever that looks like.
Speaker 2:So set your goals for this month, whatever it is. Maybe you got to walk more, you got to drink more water. Maybe you got to serve more at church. Maybe you got to come on social media for a minute. Right, some of us need to, you know. Take a pass on social media just for a minute, me included, right? So what are the goals that you have for this particular month and and how that takes you to your next? So that's where we're going to start for tonight.
Speaker 2:Again, this is if you're coming in late, this is tuesday night talks. We're shifting and doing things a little bit differently and I think, like I said, this is going to bless you. All of this, obviously, what I'm sharing with you tonight. You'll be able to slow down and watch the replay, because it's going to feel like I'm going fast, because I have a lot of information I want to share with you and I don't have a lot of time. Okay, it's still Tuesday night and we're going to go to sleep soon, but you can always go back to the Mrs Pie YouTube channel and just slow this thing down so that you don't miss anything that I'm sharing with you.
Speaker 2:So I want to tell you about this event Again. It was sponsored by my day job. Y'all know I'm a corporate girly and I work with some of them. I can't see who's in the chat, but at least for Makisha and I, we work together. I don't know who else is here, but this event happened. It was pretty much an all-day virtual event called SDG and Inspiration Day and typically what it is. It's a global event. They have some huge people that you know really big deal folks who come on and they have different components and they talk about the things that are applicable to their areas.
Speaker 2:So so, by the way, turn it up June is this is my phrase here. It's not Sir Lenny saying this, but there was this speaker. His name was Sir Lenny Henry and in his area, he wanted to talk about the five principles of charity, and so I want to share these principles, and then I'm also going to share some prayer points, some scriptures, to support some of these, and then we're going to pray about this and then we're going to shut it down. Okay, so the first thing he started with was that charity begins with listening and it actually begins at home. And what I found to be really cool about this, there's some context, because I'm big on people give people credit. If I come for you, it's like that's for that Give people credit for the work that they do.
Speaker 2:Sir Lenny Henry you can Google him. He's a renowned comedian. He's raised a lot of money for different charity events and things like that. He was knighted in 2015. So that is a real title, sir Lenny Henry. His mother is from Jamaica, so I feel like he's my family member, but he's actually born in the UK and all that thing.
Speaker 2:But the five principles that he shared, he started out with one, and so the terminology that you're going to see not bolded. This is my addition to what he was saying and some of the things that I picked up from what he shared. So the first thing is listening. The first principle is listening. So, again, if you're using the lens of charity whether you're at home, again charity beginning at home, or or you charity on the job, and how you're showing up and how you're serving, serving people around you and part of where he was tying these principles to it's anchored to the amount of success. How was he, how was the kind of? The question is, you know, how did he become so successful? And he was sharing. These are the principles that he's used for his entire career. So the first one is listening, and he started out talking about why that was so important, and I think this is something we can all agree on.
Speaker 2:But a lot of times we don't do it. We don't do it because we don't want to hear what people's got to say. We're really quick to tell people why we don't want to hear what you got to say. If people don't to tell people, you know, you know, you know why we don't want to hear what you got to say. If people don't echo, if it's not an echo chamber, you know we kind of turn off. We don't want to hear what they got to say, but there's some.
Speaker 2:There is something that that is so important to for us, in order for us to grow and turn it up this month is we have to be willing to listen. So in this case, we're talking about listening to God, listening to others when the Lord, especially when the Lord, puts people in your, in your path, um, folks who are more experienced or more you know. There are so many more like, um, accomplished and mature women and men in my life and I, I listened to them. It doesn't mean, like you know, sometimes the correction is painful, but we have to be willing to listen. So, listening to God, listening to others, to what's needed for the moment, don't just create something because you feel the itch. You have to make sure it has to actually be a need. You're feeling a need, so listen.
Speaker 2:Let God show you. You know here, here's where. Here's where I want you to focus right. Listen to what God says about the season that you're in or the people that you're hanging out with. Listen to what God's saying about the job he gave you. Right. Your job is is an assignment, right. Everybody doesn't have a pulpit. Everybody isn't supposed to have a pulpit or a platform, okay. So listen to what God says about where he's placed you and what he needs you to do there, right? And so as you start listening more, you know you start saying Lord, show me what you want. I want to hear from you and don't doubt that he's that God's not speaking to you. God is always speaking. I think a lot of times we don't want to hear because he's not saying what we want him to say. I want him to tell me how he's going to give me, give me a new car, and he's telling me that I need to tithe more. I don't want to hear that, right? So we have to put in the first principle in practice, which is we have to listen. We have to listen to God about what's actually needed in kind of things that we're hoping to achieve, right?
Speaker 2:The second thing is acting with courage, even when it's hard. And acting with courage it's easier when you're in kind of again back to the echo chamber where everybody is saying what you agree with. It's really easy to act with courage when you don't have your skin in the game. You really have nothing to lose, nothing to risk, and you're just kind of going along to get along. You can act with courage all day long when it's easy, but really it comes into play when things are really hard. So, acting with courage when you're in a position that you have to make tougher decisions for your finances for the rest of this month, right. Or speaking up when you see things are going down that are wrong, right. If you see a coworker that you don't like and they're being mistreated, you're not in the corner heckling saying that's what she deserves right. But having the courage to stand up and speak up when things are wrong and you know they're wrong, this is something that we're expected to do. Right, we are the light remember that from scripture. So acting with courage, even when things are hard right now in the season.
Speaker 2:The third point is collaboration, and we do have to do things together. We're better together. You know how we say all the things. We're better together. You know how we say all the things. We're better together, we're stronger together, all of those things. I can tell you that one of the things that makes, in my eyes, this ministry successful is because I am collaborating with strong women and we're partnering in doing things together. It's not the Shelly show, so I don't ever have to worry about whether I'm burning out or not, because I have women that are in position, right, and it's a partnership right. So you have to be willing to collaborate and work alongside other people. What also happens is if the project or the goal you had this month again remember, we're turning it up Maybe if one of your goals was to start writing the book, or you were going to start the nonprofit, or maybe your collaboration was you just going to I don't know do something that you want to do, take some courses or whatever. It's something that requires a community of support. Well, collaboration could be just as simple, as you know. Let me, let me tap a couple of women and you know, see if I can get their feedback on this project plan that I'm working on, let me see what that looks like, and then them giving you the input helps you to build a better program, build a stronger project. Right, working with other women, working with other men, right, collaborating and sharing ideas together.
Speaker 2:If you're doing things by yourself and you're in your own bubble, like I, have a horrible habit that you know I tend to disappear, me and Jesus, I tend to go into like a hole and I just don't wanna be around people, and it's not a good thing to do. What ends up happening is I start to only into like a hole and I just don't want to be around people, and it's not a good thing to do. What ends up happening is I start to only hear my own voice. Because the Lord had disciples for a reason, right, it wasn't just Jesus doing all the work. And so you have to come out of that bubble or you'll start telling yourself things that the Lord isn't telling you at all.
Speaker 2:So collaboration allows you to get different perspectives on your journey. Where you're going, maybe taking a different direction. It's not meant to just you know, it's not meant to throw you off course. It's not that people are trying to steal your thunder and all that you know. The worst scenario for me is when somebody is refusing. They have a lot to say but they don't listen right. Someone who is uncoachable, who knows everything, done everything, been everywhere those type of folks you can't collaborate with. So I'm encouraging you this month to stretch your muscles a little bit, to collaborate, build community and find out who's doing. Before you build a nonprofit, go find out which nonprofits are already existing doing the things that you wanna do and see if you can serve before you build right. That way, you truly understand and you're listening to God when he's telling you this is what I need, right? So, collaboration, y'all coming out of our bubble and talking to people with different backgrounds and different all those things right, collaborating stronger together.
Speaker 2:Now, the fourth point he shared was being authentic, and he talked about, you know, no masks, just truth. Because being authentic, I think a lot of times, folks you know we talk about, especially if you're in the corporate girly or you know, quite frankly, work anywhere, and we talk about being authentic. This kind of this, this terminology really, really had some legs to it, starting around 20, late 2020, early 2021, when we were talking about, you know, the need to be authentic on our jobs and need to be authentic etc. And there was also a conversation about whether or not you could really truly be authentic or not when you're on the job and that, quite frankly, a lot of us end up doing code switching. Well, code switching is exhausting, so I prefer to just be my whole self and you take me as you take me or you don't, and then that way, I'm actually being my authentic self.
Speaker 2:So one of the things that he was sharing, that sir lenny was talking about, was when you think about charity and the way that we serve the people around us, that they want real people. So if you're building a um say, you're building a project or you're, you know, going out as a speaker or you as a speaker, or you're doing any of those things, people want you to show up in an authentic way, meaning I don't want to, I don't want. I think Dr Tracy is on here. When Dr Tracy goes to speak somewhere, she's showing up as herself. Wherever she goes, she's not putting on different hats and wearing different masks. She is Dr Tracy. Why does that matter? It matters because it helps to build her credibility in front of the audiences that she goes to speak to.
Speaker 2:If you're trying to launch a business or if you're trying to launch, you know, even a social media career, you want to be an influencer, you want to do all the things. You have to be relatable and you have to be authentic. People need to know who you are and who they're dealing with, and especially as Christians and women believers. Right, we need to be real, we need to be authentic, we need to be the real deal. You can't be one person online and then you come offline and you're somebody totally different. You can't be one person on Sunday and by the time you come to your parking lot, you're a hot mess, you're rude and nobody wants to talk to you, right? So you know having no mask and just being truthful, and if this is an area where you need the Lord to help you, lord, you know, we started off with Psalm 51, right, creating me a clean heart. So maybe you need to go back and say, lord, this is something that I'm battling because I've been hurt and disappointed by people when I was myself, and I don't want to be hurt and disappointed anymore, but show me what I need to do and renew the right spirit within me so that I can be real and relatable to wherever you send me. Wherever you send me, lord, I want to show up as a real person.
Speaker 2:So the last point is something that I've always practiced and I was really excited when he made this point, and it's basically punching up, not down, and essentially it's. I want to say this for, especially for those of you maybe you are in leadership roles, or maybe you're someone of influence or you have power on your job. But I also want to say this for moms, and especially moms of teens and moms of adult children, that we have to do a better job of not punching down on our kids. Don't punch down. Punch up meaning you're fighting. So, for example, I'm not fighting my kid, I'm fighting a process or a problem that was. You know, that's bigger than her. I'm not yelling at her, telling her she's not going to make it. I'm going to go figure out why she's not going to make it and then work on that. I'm not speaking to my team. You know, in a way, that's going to strip their you know, just kind of strip their souls.
Speaker 2:I'm not using my voice and my platform to condemn other people, right, that's. That's so huge. We have a thing, you know, a thing has been on social media now for the past few years, where there are influencers make a lot of money and all they do is they, they, they kind of tear down other pastors and that's kind of their thing. Or you come on and you see people giving all their full-throated feedback on what someone should be wearing at church and who said what. It's like a gossip, like ugly gossip pool. So you're not using your voice to lift others. You're using your voice to condemn others. And guess what seed you're planting? Because if you're planting that seed to condemn somebody else, you better believe you're going to reap that and that's going to be a part of your harvest, right? So, using your voice to lift others, it's very simple, y'all in the way that we speak to each other, the way that we encourage each other, the way that you know, the way we lift each other not just our, not just each other, but our spouses the way we lift each other not just each other, but our spouses, our friends. If you don't know what to say, say nothing at all, but use your voice to lift other people. Never, ever, ever, punch down.
Speaker 2:Okay, this last point where it says lean into what scares you most. It gives you a leg up to someone who needs. It was kind of the way that Sir Lenny Henry closed his talk, and I love this. Now a lot of us. It is scary when you try to self-assess what scares you the most and then when he says like, lean into what scares you the most and then give a comma and then give a leg up to someone who needs it. This is two part.
Speaker 2:The first thing is when you talk about leaning into what scares you the most, that requires a significant level of trust in God. If I trust God, then I can lean into whatever scares me the most. So, for example, if part of your assignment or part of your turning it up in June is you are supposed to go and complete some applications because it's time for you to look for a new job, you've been in that thing for 30 years and you know it's not going anywhere and you are miserable and what scares you the most is that you have to go and do the things and do the application. Now you put yourself out and all the things. But if you trust God and you don't doubt what he's showing you, then you lean into that. And you're leaning into not your own understanding. You're leaning into what the Lord says about where you're going. Which is why I asked you when we started what is your greater next? What does your next look like? If your next looks like retirement, then what scares you the most is getting ready for your retirement. So what are you doing in this month of June to get yourself ready for your retirement, even if retirement is coming for you at the end of this year or next year. You need to lean into whatever is scaring you about getting yourself prepared and start getting this thing done.
Speaker 2:The second part, where it talks about giving a leg up to someone who needs it. The Lord will show you the people that you are meant to serve. You're not meant to serve everyone and I only serve out of overflow. So, for example, I can't serve your family if my family's broke. I have to be an overflow so I can serve other people. So the work that we do when we're turning up this month of June that's why my prayers I always ask the Lord give me overflow. I wanna have so much overflow so I can bless the people around me, the folks that he has sent me to bless. So give a leg up to someone who needs it. But ask God to give you overflow so that you can do that right, so that you're not depleting. You can't pour from an empty cup All the things we say, right, you can't do those things. Give a leg up to someone who actually needs it, all right. So I know I'm talking a lot.
Speaker 2:Like I said, tonight was going to be a little bit different. I've got some scriptures now to tie it back, right, because we're a prayer community. Tie it back to the principles that I shared on the other screen, because I want to show you where you can back this up in prayer. And then we're going to pause and we're going to, we're going to pray on these, and then we're going to, we're going to close this out, and then I'm going to ask you to pray for yourself, right? If you, if the Lord puts someone on your heart for you to pray for them as well, you're going to pray for them. All, right.
Speaker 2:So, starting with listen, james 1, 119 says know this, my beloved brothers, let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger. So what are we supposed to do? First, quick to hear. So my mom used to say this all the time when we were growing up you've got two ears and one mouth, and what are you supposed to use the most? We talk too much, y'all. We talk so much, y'all. We talk so much, especially on social media. We, we have everything. We have a reaction for everything, we have a post for everything, me included. I am not, you know, I'm including myself in this. Uh, we are very quick to speak, but we're very slow to listen and you will learn more when you listen than when you speak. So so the first prayer point is, lord, you know I want to be quicker to hear and slower to speak. I only want to respond, lord, when you tell me to respond, and even sometimes when you have this itching and urge that you got to say something. The Lord isn't telling you to say something, it's your spirit, it's you doing it because we have such an urge to speak. We got to be heard. People got to hear what the Lord told me. Nope, he didn't tell you that for you to, for you to echo it to anyone else. He's correcting you, but you're correcting somebody else, right? So the first. That's why it's so important Listen first.
Speaker 2:The second point, about acting with courage. It says from Joshua 1, 9, have I not commanded you Be strong and courageous, do not be frightened and do not be dismayed, for the Lord, your God, is with you wherever you go. What do we have to be afraid of y'all? We're acting with courage because, as the Lord says, he is with me wherever I go. So I don't have to be afraid of this season. I'm not afraid of decisions I got to make. I'm not afraid of the people I gotta talk to. I have no fear about anything. Okay, I don't have to be frightened of the unknown. I don't have to be dismayed about what's gonna happen on the job, what's gonna happen with my finance, what's gonna happen with my bill, what's gonna happen with my health, my husband's health. I don't have to be dismayed or anything, because the word says be strong and courageous. So the prayer point there is oh Lord. Sometimes my prayer is Lord, give me your strength, because I can't do it, I ain't got it right. So be strong and courageous.
Speaker 2:Collaborate part three, or number three, where it says two are better than one because they have a good reward for their toil. Here you got to be careful about who you're partnering with. Right, I don't go everywhere. I don't do everything with everyone. If the Lord hasn't shown me that I should partner with somebody, it ain't going to happen. I'll be your biggest cheerleader, but I will not be partnering. You have to be mindful about who you align yourself to.
Speaker 2:Every assignment isn't yours. Some people you've got to watch them. You know from the sideline and bless their assignment and pray for them. But it's not your business, it's not your assignment. So when the Lord sends you whoever you're to partner with, right, two are better than one. Right, if you're in something and you're the one driving it all by yourself, then you're missing the collaboration. Right, it's not a one-man band. Like I said, it was Jesus and the disciples. It wasn't a one-man band. So you want to ask the Lord show me who's my other, show me who I should work with. Thank you, lord, that there's a good reward for our work together. A good reward right, collaboration.
Speaker 2:And here we come to authentic. In the same way, let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and give glory to your father who's in heaven. You know what it doesn't say. It doesn't say let your light shine and then you go brag about it. Right, it's other people seeing your good works and give glory to your father who's in heaven. Right, it's other people seeing your good works and give glory to your father who's in heaven. Right, so, being authentic y'all, being just real, relatable people.
Speaker 2:Again, we go to church, we serve, we do all the things, we have the titles, we have the degrees, we have all of those things, right, but you've got to be real people. So that, why so that unbelievers, when they see us, they're seeing the good works, they're seeing God's grace and mercy in our lives, they're seeing that we are real. We can't just spout scripture over everything. You know, when I'm on the job, I realize I'm in an assignment, but I can't sit in a boardroom and scream out scripture. I can't. But they know me by my works because they see the father working through me, so they know who, whose I am. So that is, that is the Lord, that is the Holy spirit using me as his vessel, letting his light shine before others, right? Not me, right? So you gotta be relatable. You gotta be relatable to your spouses.
Speaker 2:Some of us are so, again, the Holy Spirit was like tell me this joke a while back, that some of y'all are holier than the Holy Spirit. But you've got to be relatable so that people can approach you and ask you questions about your faith. And how are you smiling in the middle of the storm? We're not even giving people a chance to approach us because we're so wound up, tight. We're so prophetic, right we're. You know, we're all the things that we can't even relate to people. And people need to be able to relate to us. Why? So that they may see your good works. Right, they got to get up close. They got to see our works. They got so that what? So? God gets the glory our father in heaven. So be real and be authentic. Now the last one is again punching down. Punching up and not down, which really just means how we lift others.
Speaker 2:It says in Proverbs 31, eight to nine, open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute, all A-L-L. Everybody. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and the needy. And we have got to come back, y'all, as believers of Jesus, following his teachings. Right that we are to defend the rights of the poor and needy. Now, defending the rights depends on your assignment. Some folks have the assignment. For example, if you're a lawyer, you're defending the rights of the poor and needy. Now, defending the rights depends on your assignment. Some folks have the assignment. For example, if you're a lawyer, you're defending the rights of the poor and needy in a different way than if you're not right. You're defending the rights of the poor and needy if you have a platform, if you have an ability to raise money to help kids who are broke right, if you have the opportunity to contribute, to do philanthropic works. Right To defend the rights of the poor and needy, to stand up, to use your voting power. That's defending the rights, right? That's you doing it, opening your mouth and judging righteously. Some of y'all are sitting in churches with billion-dollar pastors and you say absolutely nothing when you know that people are poor, desperate and needy, people are losing their jobs, kids being kicked out of programs. And you're going to show up on Sunday, you're going to enjoy the worship team and you're not going to challenge your pastor to do nothing to help your community. You're supposed to be defending the rights of the poor and needy. What are you doing about that right? So, again, lifting others? Open your mouth for those who can't speak for themselves little children, you know, um, widows, right? Um, you know, just just looking for ways again to tie all these principles back to how we pray, how we take this before the lord. So I've said a lot. I'm going to pause now and then we're going to go into prayer and whatever again the Lord has put on your heart concerning. Maybe he's speaking to you about one principle, maybe he's speaking to you about every single one and that's what you're going to pray for tonight. I've provided scriptures If you need to, you know, if you need an encouragement, if you need to tie it back to the Lord somehow, but let's just pause now and y'all open your mouth. If you pray in the spirit, go ahead and do that. If you don't, it's okay. No one is judging. I'm not listening, I'm not watching and we're just going to pray. I'm not going to make this a Shelly pray for you tonight. I'm going to pray for myself, because I intend to turn up like crazy in this month of June. So pray for yourselves, your family and anyone that you are connected to. Amen. Father, I thank you for this night. I thank you for your teaching. I thank you for what your words has concerning each of these principles. I also thank you, lord, for timing and confirmation, not just through Sir Lenny, but through Dr Tracy, today, as you know what has happened, lord God, as you have lit this fire again, lord God, as you have shifted and shapeshifted, lord God. So I thank you first of all for all these. Thank you for giving us access to good, solid teaching and encouraging us and holding us accountable, lord God. Thank you, father, for speaking to us in each of our hearts tonight, every one of us, lord God, who are in a new season or we're hoping for a new season, Lord, we know we carry the worries of the day, all of the things that you know, all the things that can impede our victory. Lord God, whether it's health or finance, whether it's our own illness or spouse's illness, whether we're concerned and worried about our children, whether they're young or they're adults, you know everything that's standing in front of us. But tonight, lord, tonight, we're going to ask for God that even those things are going to be you're going to hand them on in your own time. We already know that you're going to provide for us. We already know that you're going to give us victory and grace and mercy over all things. We already know that you're going to come through because we've we've experienced it. We've experienced your grace so much, lord God, that we know that you love your children and you're going to provide for each of us. Tonight, I'm asking that you will unlock in every single person who is watching this, whether they're here tonight or they're here tomorrow or years from now, that you will unlock these principles according to your word and your will for their lives. That you, first of all. Lord, god, help us to listen more. We want to hear your voice clearly. So this, anything, any other voice that's interrupting when you're speaking to us, we want that removed. Speak to us in our dreams, speak to us through scripture, speak to us through confirmation. We want to hear and we intend to listen to you, lord, before we make any decision on anything. And, lord, god, I ask that you'll continue to speak to us and remind us, lord, those who have been missing what you have been saying. We've been listening to our own spirits, lord, god, and not aligning it back to you. So we want to hear from you, lord. So we are in agreement that we're going to listen more than we speak. Lord, god, in this month of June, father, I thank you that we're going to act with courage this month, that we're going to be strong and courageous for God, that, no matter what the enemy might put before us, we know that there is victory any old way. So we thank you, lord, that you're with us wherever we go, in, every single conversation and project, anything that we attempt, everything that our hands touch, we're going to be productive and successful this month. So we're going to act with courage even when we go out to, you know, even in the marketplace or God, but those who are even afraid to drive. We don't know what's going on with all of these crazy people on the road, lord God, and people taking out their anger and fear on each other. We're going to act with courage, lord, you're going to be with us. I thank you that you have already assigned your heavenly angels to be with us, so we're walking in divine protection and we have that. Not only do we have it, but our children and anyone in our household. We're praying for our households tonight, our communities and every place that you send us, lord God, we're going to be courageous. Lord, thank you for reminding us that two are better than one and that we have a good reward for our toil. I thank you first of all, lord God, for the women that you've placed in my path. Lord God, I thank you for blessing me with the three praying sisters. I thank you for Mekisha, lord God. I thank you for this kind of leadership, lord, that keeps this community together, that keeps this ministry going, and as we keep growing, lord God, as we keep moving, that you keep teaching us and blessing us. Father, I pray that, as they are becoming stronger and stronger leaders in their own right that they will now go out and create the next generation of leaders behind them. That, lord God, we won't just keep eating from this table, but we'll also create tables for others behind us. So I thank you, lord God, for those you've sent, that we work together. Thank you, lord God, that you'll open doors on our jobs in our communities, in our church and wherever we need a group, lord God, to collaborate. Also, lord God, not for us to just keep taking, I ask, lord God, that we'll also plant the seeds as collaborators that will bring and give our wisdom and our understanding to help other people as you deem it, as you see fit. Lord, being authentic and being real is so needed today, because there's so many people who are just living a whole life on social media that is not the same in real life. So many people are God. So, lord, I ask tonight that you'll even bring us back home. We just want to be relatable and approachable Christians. We want to be the kind of people that unbelievers will see us yes, they will see our light, but we'll be approachable enough that they'll want to have a conversation with us, lord God, that they want to ask us the question why are you so happy all the time? You know, what is it? What's different about you? We've been so self-righteous, lord God, and so judgmental and so just flat out nasty to each other that we have just we have just ceded that ground, lord God, that we, some of us have just decided that we are just too big. And you know we are better than all. But, lord, I'm asking for you to just remind us that we are all of all your children. And though some of us have been marked, though some of us have titles, though some of us have platforms, lord God, it doesn't matter. In your sight, you're seeing each and every one of us. You're seeing our heart posture. You're seeing how we truly love and serve you. So we want to be real and relatable and authentic. And if this is something that we have struggled, lord, if there's any person who's struggling with this tonight, lord God, because they have been hurt by other people when they let their guard down, lord God, that I ask that, first of all, you will heal their broken hearts and their broken spirits. But I pray that that won't become a generational curse or they use that as a reason not to be kind to other people, to just come offline with the nastiness or god and just be real and relatable people. Look, that's what we want, lord god. So I'm asking, lord god, that you'll just, first of all, heal. Heal the hearts that need to be healed and call out all of us for god. Remind us that we need to be real and relatable people so that unbelievers and believers can find the light. Amen, he said. Stop making it so hard. Thank you, lord, that we're going to use our mouth to lift others. We're going to speak up for those who need their rights defended, both poor and needy. Some of us, lord God, contribute in ways you know bigger than others, lord God. Some of us are touching, lord God, financially. Some of us are touching through teaching and legislation. All of us, lord God, have been put here to serve the poor and needy and you didn't say the poor and needy. All look like us, so even that is a correction in itself. Father, I pray, lord God, for every person in our family who's going through a season where they have significant loss in finances, they don't have jobs and they are struggling right now that in our own homes we have poor and needy. I pray, lord God, that you'll help us. Lord God, to provide for them. Lord, I know that this is our plane, so you will use men to do men things. So I ask for God that you'll equip us so that we can help each other. Lord God, I pray this is a season where we're not afraid to give. You know, if we can't give our finance, we can give our talent and our time. Maybe this is a season that we just give an encouraging word. It doesn't always have to be a prayer meeting. It doesn't have to be that we need to go where the need is. So, father, we want to hear from you. You show us where the need is, because we are ready to go and serve your people, the poor and needy. I pray for every family, under the sound of my voice, who's standing in need of anything. That you will open heaven out. I know, lord God, as we plant the seed of giving, that you will also give to us. So I thank you, lord God, for all that you will do for us. As I've covered all of these principles, lord God, that you will release these words. These are your words, lord God, that you will make this come to pass in our life, that you will bless us into overflow so that we can then take care of each and every one around us. Turn it up. This month of June. We want to see incredible, amazing things. I pray that there's a seed planted now in the heart of every person, under the sound of my voice, something they will never forget, lord God, something they will take with them for the rest of this year. That tonight is a night that we turn that flame on, lord God, that we turn things up, that we have turned the page. It doesn't matter what didn't work out in the month of May or the month of January, that we are turning the page. And I thank you, god, that you are with us tonight, that you're blessing us and that you will not let us be put to shame because we are your children. So we thank you for your glory, we thank you for the glory that covers us, we thank you for your faith and your favor. You honor us as your children. Thank you, lord God, that everything that I have said is according to your word and therefore it will come to pass. Thank you for blessing my tongue, lord God. I thank you for blessing my tongue so that every blessing that has been released came from heaven itself, so it will come to pass For those who receive it. Lord God, I thank you for this anointing on my life that you'll continue to help me to grow, lord God, and steer and lead in the way that you divine it, the way that you declare it. Lord God, thank you for energizing us tonight, lord God, and filling us with joy, even while we are suffering. Still, I thank you, lord God. I thank you for Tuesday night talks that we are moving in a different direction, lord God, that we are stretching us, and for every person who comes to hear even a small clip, that they will be encouraged and they'll want to know the Jesus that we serve, that you're still a loving and true Father. Thank you, holy Father, for all of these things. In Jesus' name, amen, amen, all right, so now we go into declaration and thanksgiving and we close it out. Y'all, I hope you've been enjoying it so much so far tonight, just sharing some of the teaching and all of the things that I've been learning. Like I said, I'm already on fire. I'm really excited about the month of June and even as we release our declaration tonight, I know we say it twice a week, every week, but I really pray that you're absorbing it and that you're walking in this thing. This isn't affirmation, this is declaration. This is what the Lord says about you and says about me. So when we say these words, we are in agreement with what heaven says and it will come to pass. Amen, I believe it. I declare this day that no weapon formed against me can prosper, because I am the righteousness of God. Favor surrounds me as a shield and divine protection surrounds me as a shield. I am therefore in the right place at the right time. I cannot be defeated In fact, come on, lord or destroyed. He said every nut, but I sat. In fact, every tongue that accuses me and every tongue that attacks me I condemn with my words. This is my heritage, this is my right as a child of God. I'm made in his image. I'm made with his dominion and authority living in me, coming forth out of my spirit. Through my words, I declare today that Satan has no power over my life and that every weapon he has has been defeated, that fear is cast out, that love makes my faith work and therefore, I cannot fail. God's word cannot fail and that's what I'm made. Of his word. I'm made in his image, after his likeness, with the power of the Holy Spirit and authority of his words. Therefore, by the blood of Jesus, I dwell in the secret place of the Most High. That's why you can't find me. I abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I say of the Lord, you are my refuge and my fortress, my God, it's in you that I trust. So, father, we release all that you have said about us and we are coming into full agreement. I pray, lord God, that as many times that we have said this declaration, lord God, that it's seated in our heart. Maybe just one or two lines to remind us of the power of the Holy Spirit, the power that we carry, and that every single thing that we touch, everything that we do, everything that we say, it will come to pass. So, lord, I ask, lord God, that you will give us that supernatural favor, that supernatural grace, give us that divine protection. Let grace be activated in our lives so we can work this thing out, walk this thing out. Give us all the strategy and the downloads, all the plans, everything that we need for this month of June, so that we can bring everything into light. Thank you, god, for what you are doing for each of us, for waking us back up, Despite what it looks like around us. Lord God, we are trusting you, we are in your presence, we are under your covering and because you have turned your face and you smiled upon us, lord God, we know that you're going to bless us in such a mighty powerful way. Thank you, lord God, for all that you have already said and all that you are about to do. Amen, amen, amen, all right. So for those of y'all, if you're new, if you wanna receive the Lord, but basically if you wanna reconfirm your relationship with our Lord and Savior, you just have to say amen, if you are in agreement, at the end of this. And it's simply this, lord Jesus, I believe you are the son of God, that you died on the cross to rescue me from sin and death and to restore me to the Father. I choose now to turn from my sins, my self-centeredness and every part of my life that does not please you. Y'all. We got to let it go. I choose you and I give myself to you. I receive your forgiveness and I ask you to take your rightful place in my life, both as my Savior and my Lord, come, reign in my heart, fill me with your love and your life, restore me, jesus. Thank you, god. All these things we pray in Jesus' name and, if you agree, you say amen, amen, amen, all right, so just take a minute to just thank God for all circumstances. Maybe you're thanking him for this day. I'm surely thanking him for this month of June. I'm thanking you, lord, for firing back up. I thank you for divine confirmations. I thank you for giving me the ear to hear and the ear to listen and to send, you know, sending your word in such an amazing and powerful way. I thank you for those who have heard this teaching tonight and they may be encouraged in any small way that they'll come back on track If there was an idea or something that you, a dream or something that you dropped in their spirit months ago and they let that thing fall apart because they were just too busy. That now, lord God, that you'll turn that fire up, because there are people who are standing in need of our voices, of our contributions, of our ideas, of our products, of our services, of all the things that we have to offer, our gifts and talents, of the expansion and the kingdom that we're going to do that. There are people who are waiting for us to be real and relatable and approachable, people who are waiting for our prayers, people who are waiting for just our smiles, and even in this very season where things are so bleak. So we thank you, god, that we are even now just receiving even more downloads, that you're waking us back up so that we can continue to carry out these works that you have sent us here to do. All of this, we know, is your will, and so we are standing in agreement and as we thank you, god, we're even thanking you for the great success that we're coming into this year. We're thanking you for breakthroughs. We're thanking you now for the blessings, everything that they have marked down that is a part of their greater. Next, we're thanking you right now. I thank you, god, for the promotions and the accelerations, the ideas. I thank you for the safe travel to and from the destination. I thank you for increase in speaking gigs for those who are waiting for that. I thank you, lord, for those who are writing books that you'll give them. They'll feel so filled with your joy and they'll be so creative that all that creativity comes back. Those who have to solve big problems, that you're giving them the strategies, even while they sleep. They can't even wait to wake up to write down all the cool strategies that you're giving them, those problem solvers, lord God, those that you have marked. Thank you for awakening your daughters, your sons and daughters tonight so that we can go and carry out these things. Thank you for our children, our friends, our spouses. Thank you, lord, for those who are moving into the greater next, in obedience and complete surrender to you. We give you all the praise, lord, god, and we thank you, amen, amen. So benediction, november, november, number six, 24 to 26. It's very simple. It says the Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. All right. So with that, I'm going to come back to the room. I made it 925. I made it under my time, honoring your time, so I'm going to stop the recording.
