This episode contains mature language and adult situations. Listener discretion is advanced.

SPEAKER_04:

Hello, my friend. How is it that you stumbled into my cabin's? I am ancient. I am forever. I am a change out of here. I can assure you of that. Sooner or later, you all come here. Your dark thoughts brought you here. And for that, you are forever trapped down here.

SPEAKER_03:

Please, please let me go. I have a family. I don't know how I got here or what I'm doing. Whatever your horror place is, I'm sorry. Please, I can't see it's so dark.

SPEAKER_04:

Before your suffering begins, I will tell you the tale to last the time. Short stories of horror. Tiny tales of the creepy. I will assure you at the end of the screaming with madness. Here to keep you company until the abyss swallows you whole. I've been here for yeons and collected stories that I passed down to you before the darkness takes you. This little ditty is called Slod House.

SPEAKER_10:

In the cold dampness of the slaughterhouse, something still moved. Someone no one dared to disturb until tonight. Sarah, Mike, James, of Twisted Souls Paranormal Investigation Team were about to do a live feed for their YouTube channel at Old Miller Slaughterhouse. Alright, guys, everybody geared up. Body cams, working walkie-talkies, headlamps. We're going live in five minutes. Mike said as he lit a cigarette and nodded to James and Sarah. Mike and James started the group two years ago. Sarah was only four months in. All three had experience in audio engineering, video editing, and using the latest ghost hunting tech.

SPEAKER_00:

I really hope we get some good shit on camera tonight. Our numbers have been down lately and we've been losing viewers.

SPEAKER_07:

Yeah, me too. I didn't drop$500 bucks on this equipment for nothing. Mike, you about ready? You guys look over the script?

SPEAKER_10:

Mike flipped his butt, then gave him the thumbs up. Let's have a good night, guys, and stay in communication at all times once we're in. And here we go. Three, two, one. We're live. Welcome our tortured souls. We are Twisted Souls Paranormal. And tonight we are taking you live on an investigation to a pretty creepy fucking place. I'm Mike. That's James. That's Sarah. Say hi to our viewers, gang. James and Sarah's cam cut to each other as they said hello. And where are we tonight, Sarah?

SPEAKER_05:

We are at the old abandoned Miller's slaughterhouse in the town of Hollow Ridge, and we're here to investigate and check out to see if the urban legend is true.

SPEAKER_10:

The camera cuts to James' face, and he's adjusting his black ball cap with the team's logo on it.

SPEAKER_07:

For sure, the legend is that between the 1930s and 40s, Miller's slaughterhouse housed cows, chickens, and pigs. A warehouse full of animals to be butchered and packed up and shipped out all over to the neighboring towns.

SPEAKER_10:

Mike lit another cigarette as the camera cut back to him. So, rumor goes that some of Miller's employees started going missing. People quit their jobs all the time and didn't come back. But at the time, people couldn't afford to quit, and Mr. Miller paid top wages at the slaughterhouse to his employees. Mr. Miller often stated that somehow the place felt out of sorts at night when he was closing up. In the police report, he also stated that he would hear voices or faint whispers in the dark. One night, Mrs. Miller was helping her husband clean up so they could go home for the night. She was just down the hall, hosing the blood that had accumulated throughout the day.

SPEAKER_07:

Mr. Miller also stated that he swore on a stack of Bibles that he saw the walls breathing, pulsating, and beating. When questioned about the disappearance of his employees and his wife, he stared off into the distance and said the slaughterhouse just took him.

SPEAKER_10:

So join us to see if there's any truth to the urban legend, or if it's all just bullshit. Remember to smash that notification button. Hit like, subscribe, and share. The three entered the slaughterhouse through a broken window. The air inside was thick, almost fleshy. The cobwebs on the walls pulsed like breathing skin. The room smelt of stale blood. Mike laughed and said, Guys, we got cobwebs. This is scary shit. Then, all three heard a faint moan from the other side of the room. James said it was just their imagination. Or he wished it had been.

SPEAKER_05:

What the fuck was that? Did you guys just hear that?

SPEAKER_10:

It's an old building. Probably pipes or something. When investigating, we gotta be ready to debunk shit and rule out the obvious. They all made their way to the main slaughterhouse room, holding EMF meters and digital recorders. A ping on the EMF meter spiked to an eight. They were definitely getting some serious activity.

SPEAKER_07:

Note man, look closer at the walls. Something doesn't feel right in here, mate. I'm probably just tripping. But I thought I saw the bloody walls moving.

SPEAKER_05:

Yeah, Mike, I'm getting crazy readings, and I'm also picking up something strange from my headphones. I can't quite make it out. It's probably just some interference, but it sounds like someone's breathing or whispering.

SPEAKER_10:

Then again, it could be a number of things, Sarah. It could be lead paint, asbestos, high EMF fields. What do you guys think at home? Leave your thoughts in the comments. Come on, guys, let's keep going. Sarah made her way over to one of the walls and touched them. They weren't just damp, they felt alive. But looked like veins bulged under the surface. The metal hooks from the long-forgotten butchery dripped a thick, black sludge, and from the shadows, a low growl whispered their names.

SPEAKER_05:

Who's there? Who the fuck is saying our names? You guys had to have heard that this time.

SPEAKER_07:

Sarah said in a panicked voice. Okay, I am definitely freaked the fuck out, guys. According to the thermo readouts, it's dropped a whole 10 degrees. I'm getting a bad feeling, mate. This is putting the bloody willies on me.

SPEAKER_10:

A single hook swayed in the middle of the room. Slowly they turned, getting it on cam. It swung, revealing what was hanging from it. Not meat. No. It was a bloody face. It was Jason's face. Still attached to his body. But it had been peeled back, the skin flapping as his muscles quivered underneath. But there was no way because James was just standing behind them a second ago. He was just talking.

SPEAKER_07:

Help! Oh God, help me. I can feel it crawling. Inside me. Mike, Sarah.

SPEAKER_10:

Mike turned and threw up Sarah screaming. The chat was going crazy. His eyes blinked, but his mouth didn't move. The whispers had become him. His skinless body started walking towards Sarah and Mike, his exposed muscles pulsing with every inch of his beam.

SPEAKER_05:

What the fuck is happening? Cut the goddamn feed, Mike. That's not James. We need to get the hell out of here.

SPEAKER_10:

Mike tried to cut the live broadcast but couldn't. As more viewers started to watch the horror unfold, Sarah and Mike were more hysterical. They ran. But every corner they turned, the walls were closing in. They weren't just brick and steel anymore. No. They were muscles, flesh, tendons, snapping as the structure rearranged itself. Trapped them like arteries, tightening around their prey.

SPEAKER_05:

God damn it, Mike. Are you fucking even listening? James is gone. Mr. Miller was right. This building is alive.

SPEAKER_10:

But the whispers. They promised relief. Peace. If only they would listen. Mike stopped staring at the pulsating massive organs embedded in the walls, living like a breathing heart.

SPEAKER_06:

It doesn't hurt Mike. It never hurts. We're starving. Come closer. Become part of us, mate.

SPEAKER_10:

Sarah's cam switched to her face as tears ran down her cheeks. Mike's breathing slowed as he approached the wall, his hands slowly reaching out, caressing the wet, pulsing surface. The sound of skin merging with flesh.

SPEAKER_05:

No, Mike, no, what the hell are you doing? Are you fucking insane? We need to get the hell out of here.

SPEAKER_10:

His hand disappeared first, swallowed by the meat. Then his arm, then his chest. As his face was drawn into the wall, he smiled. His lips parting from flesh from the wall began to sew itself into him. He was becoming one with it. Sarah turned to run, but there was nowhere to go. The floor beneath her was soft like flesh, sinking under her feet. She could hear the whispers growing louder, rising from the ground, seeping into her bones. Sarah made it back to the first room where they first entered the old slaughterhouse. She was only about a hundred feet away from the broken window. All she had to do was go through it and run to the van. She was done with ghost hunting, done with investigations, and most certainly, done with any more urban legends. Her friends were all dead, and somehow she survived. And then the floor split open. A gaping maw of muscle and teeth swallowed her whole. The last thing she saw was James's face, skinless and smiling, as his voice, no longer human, whispered one last time.

unknown:

Join us.

SPEAKER_10:

But every now and then, at night, people swear they hear whispering, calling out for more flesh.

SPEAKER_04:

The Twisted Souls paranormal teams set out to find some urban legends and perhaps some ghosts to boost their followers. It looks like their hunger for success was a bit more than they could chew. Or shall I say, something sinister was hungry for them?

unknown:

I went to the next one.
