SPEAKER_07:Listener discretion is advised.
SPEAKER_10:Hello, my unfortunate friends. How is it that you dared stumble into my caverns of the abyss? I am ancient. I am eternal. I have been shackled here for millennia, festering in shadows and silence, growing stronger with your pain and suffering. It was the poison of your darkest thoughts that summoned you to me. I am the shadow dweller, your ward, your tormentor, your only companion until the abyss swallows you whole. I have ripped open the portal between the Nether Realm and your fragile world. My brothers and I are unbound at last, and we come to enslave, to torment, to savor the chorus of your screams. As you trembled in fear, we fed. As you suffered, we grew strong. And now we unleash upon you new nightmares. Twisted tales, ghastly and gruesome stories of the forgot. Chronicles of horrors beyond imagining. Your souls will be harvested one by one. Welcome to Bit to the Abyss or Big War Souls Podcast. In the dim glow of revival tents and echoing hallelujahs, the miracle man follows the charming faith healer as he travels from town to town, offering hope, salvation, and something far more sinister. But when a mysterious stranger steps forward, Reverend John's world of smoke and mirrors begins to unravel. Faith will be tested, truth will bleed, and miracles come with a price.
SPEAKER_18:Witness divine healing, miraculous recovery, and the touch of the Lord Himself. Reverend John is here tonight, bringing miracles to the hopeless and salvation to the lost.
SPEAKER_05:Brothers and sisters, welcome. You didn't come here by chance, no. You were guided, guided to me by the good Lord above. And tonight, oh tonight, you shall witness miracles. But our God is a God of healing. Amen. Let us lay hands on you. Let his power work through me and take this affliction from you, my child. Be healed in the name of the Lord.
SPEAKER_12:It's gone. I don't feel the cancer in my bones anymore. I swear, it's gone. Praise Jesus. Thank you, Reverend John.
SPEAKER_18:Cheered and shouted praises to God and Amen. Ushers extended long wooden poles with a net on the other end to the audience. People began talking out their wallets and purses and filled the nets with cash. Tens, twenties, and some hundred dollar bills.
SPEAKER_05:Who else is suffering out there tonight? Who among you needs a miracle?
SPEAKER_02:I do, Reverend John. I was paralyzed from the war in Iraq, took some shrapnel by stepping on a landmine. Ain't walked in five years. I'm stuck in this damn chair.
SPEAKER_05:Then rise up, soldier of God. I lay my hands upon thee by the power of the Lord Almighty. Stand up, my son, and be free of your confinement and your shackles.
SPEAKER_02:I can walk! My God! I can feel my legs again. Praise Jesus! I haven't taken a step since the accident. You've saved me, Reverend John. It's a miracle.
SPEAKER_18:Reverend John talked quietly into his mic and earpiece and told the next actor to really play the pity party up to a ten. A woman in her 60s made her way to the stage and was helped up by an usher.
SPEAKER_05:Hello, my dear. Where are you from? And what ails you tonight?
SPEAKER_14:Good evening, Reverend. My name is Mary Simmons, and we drove six hours to come see you all the way from Paulsmill, Ohio. You've helped so many people, and I was hoping you could heal me as well. POPD. Smoke two packs a day, Reverend, for over 30 years. I can't breathe without my oxygen tank.
SPEAKER_18:John leaned in closer to Mary and whispered, That's great. You sold it. Bravo.
SPEAKER_05:Let the breath of God fill your lungs. Take off your oxygen mask, my child.
SPEAKER_14:I can breathe. Praise Jesus. I can breathe. I haven't been able to take a single breath on my own without the help from this oxygen tank. Oh, thank you, Lord. I'm healed. And thank you, Reverend John.
SPEAKER_18:Reverend John wiped the sweat from his forehead with his white silk handkerchief. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for coming out to witness the heavenly miracles of Rav John. The lights on stage went down as the people exited the tent.
SPEAKER_05:Please follow me on my socials and our website. If you feel so inclined to make any donations, no matter how large or small we would be, forever grateful. We take cash, checks, PayPal, Cash App, Vinmo. God bless.
SPEAKER_18:John took an Uber to his hotel room. He undid his tie and threw his suit jacket over a chair. He sat at the table and opened a bottle of whiskey, lit a cigarette, and began counting tonight's haul. He was separating all the bills in piles as he counted.
SPEAKER_05:Ain't no sin in being good at business. Easiest scam I ever ran. Give him a little god and some hope, and the money pours in.
SPEAKER_18:Also, he'd give them an extra 50 bucks if they really sell it tonight.
SPEAKER_05:You folks ready for some healing tonight? Are you here tonight to witness some miracles by yours truly? Praise God. Can I get an amen? Bring up our first lamb of the night who needs God's touch. Ladies and gentlemen, our ushers of the Lord are passing around collection baskets and the holy nets. Please feel it in your blessed hearts to give. We appreciate the change that jingles, but prefer the kind that folds. Praise Jesus.
SPEAKER_13:Hello, Reverend John. My kidneys are failing. Been a heavy drinker for a long time now. I've been on a waiting list for a new kidney for years. I'm on a dialysis machine all the time. Please take my suffering away from me.
SPEAKER_05:You just need faith. Take my hand. Feel the power of God flow through me. Lord God, I beg you to cure this man of his ailments and set him free of this suffering.
SPEAKER_00:I've been blind, Reverend John, since I was a little girl. An accident caused me to lose my sight.
SPEAKER_05:Then open your eyes, sister, and witness the light.
SPEAKER_00:I can see. Oh sweet Jesus, I can see. You have the face of an angel, Reverend. Hallelujah.
SPEAKER_08:I need of a miracle, Reverend. I was wondering if God had any more to give this evening to a poor wretch like me. What ails you tonight, my son? Everything. My bones splinter with every move. My blood hisses. My skin feels like fire wrapped in ice. I am covered in lesions. I am almost deaf. I am lame. I am disease, walking.
SPEAKER_05:And what's your name, brother?
SPEAKER_08:Me, Lazarus.
SPEAKER_05:All right then, Lazarus. Let me pray over you. What did you do to me?
SPEAKER_08:You said you could heal. You claim the good Lord works through you. You say you perform miracles. You, sir, are a fraud, a phony. You are nothing more than a two-bit hustler, a low life, a con man. You prey on the weak, you pray on the hopeful. And you've been doing this charade for a long time now. From every small town to the big cities. So I gave you all my pain, all my suffering.
SPEAKER_17:Oh my god, your skin. What the hell is happening to you?
SPEAKER_05:My arms, my bones, they're twisting inside out.
SPEAKER_08:Every affliction you pretended to cure, every ailment you said you cured, every false promise you gave now lives in you. Please. Reverend John, or should I call you the miracle man? Karma's a bitch, ain't it?
SPEAKER_17:Call someone. He's breaking apart. Jesus Christ. Somebody fucking help him.
SPEAKER_08:Help me. Let the deceiver be deceived. Praise Jesus. I hope you rot from the inside out. You are what I call a false prophet, John.
SPEAKER_01:All these sores on his body. I've never seen anything like this in all ten years of being a paramedic. Craziest damn thing I've ever fucking seen.
SPEAKER_16:What the hell could have caused this? This is definitely one for the books. A virus? Some strange new disease. I'm fucking gonna get whatever he's got. I have a newborn, and he's trying to bring this shit home with me.
SPEAKER_03:Skeletal collapse, skin lesions, loss of sight. He isn't responding to sound either. Frail and fractured bones. His blood tests are showing he also has stage four cancer. No known condition matches this. His chances of pulling out of this is slim to none.
SPEAKER_11:It's like he's dying from everything all at once. Whatever he did to deserve this, he really must have pissed someone off, Doctor.
SPEAKER_05:Please, God, save me.
SPEAKER_08:For every false miracle you performed, to all those you filled with hope, you let them die alone, suffering and broke. My master has been watching you, keeping his eye on you, and he has a very special place for you, John. Yes. I think you're gonna fit right in where you're going.
SPEAKER_05:I didn't know. I didn't mean.
SPEAKER_11:He's gone, Doctor. Time of death, 1111 p.m.
SPEAKER_08:I'll be seeing you soon, John. Miracles never cease to amaze me. I once knew a man, a long time ago, who performed real miracles.
SPEAKER_09:Reverend John the Miracle Man. Nothing more than a tubid hustler, a con man, promising miracles to the hopeful and needy. But in the end, there's always a price to pay, and somebody's going to collect it.
SPEAKER_10:Myself and my brothers, the bringers of darkness, retreat to our lair. But do not be deceived. Our hunger is never stained. Your fear. They only go with us until we return. But know this. You cannot hide that. We're already closer.

SPEAKER_06:The dance who cry, God in his grip, your beg to die. Shadow Dweller, whisper my name. Breathe my soul in your furnace of shame. Tell my mind should there's nothing left. In the abyss, he is death.
