Into the Abyss
Morbid Morsals Season 3. Episode 5. Along came a spider
In the corners of the night... where neon dies and loneliness breathes...
She waits.
Men call her lucky.
Women call her beautiful.
But the truth — the truth calls her hunger.
And once she finds you...
you don’t walk away.
You hang.

Hello my friends, let me know what you thought about this episode.
This episode contains mature language in adult situations.
SPEAKER_06:Listener discretion is advanced.
SPEAKER_05:Hello, my unfortunate friends. How is it that you dared stumble into my caverns of the abyss? I am ancient. I am eternal. I have been shackled here for millennia, festering in shadows and silence, growing stronger with your pain and suffering. It was the poison of your darkest thoughts that summoned you to me. I am the Shadow Dweller, your Warden, your tormentor, your only companion until the abyss swallows you whole. I have ripped open the portal between the Nether Realm and your fragile world. My brothers and I are unbound at last, and we come to enslave, to torment, to savor the chorus of your screams. As you trembled in fear, we fed. As you suffered, we grew strong. And now we unleash upon you new nightmares. Twisted tales, ghastly and gruesome stories of the macabre. Chronicles of horrors beyond imagining. Your souls will be harvested one by one. Welcome to Intel Bitcoin's mind. Along came a spider. She waits. Men call her lucky. Women call her beautiful. But the truth, the truth calls her hunger. And once she finds you, you don't walk away. You hang.
SPEAKER_02:Six figures easy. Next quarter I'm buying the damn company.
SPEAKER_04:Ambitious. I like a man with drive.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, maybe I'll drive you somewhere tonight.
SPEAKER_04:Why don't we celebrate at my place?
SPEAKER_02:This is wow, cozy, a little dark and dusty though.
SPEAKER_04:Light ruins the mood. Make yourself a drink, relax, baby.
SPEAKER_02:You've got cobwebs everywhere. You uh into Halloween or not so much on the housekeeping kind of gal. But hey, I'm not judging you.
SPEAKER_04:Something like that.
SPEAKER_02:Hey, what was that?
SPEAKER_01:You're not leaving. Vince felt this sticky rope wrapping around his wrists, and it sounded like silk tightening. He thinking how he scored by picking up some kinky ass woman. Then he felt the handcuffs, or rope, or whatever she bound his wrists begin to burn.
SPEAKER_02:You crazy ass bitch. Oh my god, wa what the fuck? What are you doing?
SPEAKER_01:They found him weeks later. Or rather, what was left of him? A hollow husk drained dry. The cops said they have no idea what the fuck could have drained a man dry, not a drop of blood in him. Some suggested rats or some animal. But rats don't leave you hanging in mid-air with your eyes webbed open.
SPEAKER_09:You always drink alone.
SPEAKER_04:Only when I'm hunting.
SPEAKER_09:A predator.
SPEAKER_01:Charlie Blake, 32. Divorced, broke, still wearing confidence like an old suit that doesn't fit anymore. He thought he met a woman. He was half right.
SPEAKER_09:Another round? Or maybe we take the party somewhere else. Your place or mine? Mine.
SPEAKER_04:Sweet home.
SPEAKER_09:You really like spiders, huh?
SPEAKER_04:Spidders don't mind dust. They fascinate me, they wait, they're patient, they weave, they trap, they're efficient hunters, every thread perfect, every death an art.
SPEAKER_09:That's poetic. You're kind of spooky, you know that.
SPEAKER_04:And you're kind enough to come inside.
SPEAKER_09:It's dark as shit in here. I can't see a thing. Can we turn on a light switch?
SPEAKER_01:You won't need it. Charlie reaches for his cell phone and turns on his flashlight on and pans it around the room. He sees what looks like giant cocoons swaying in the corner of the room.
SPEAKER_09:You into Halloween props or something? What the fuck is that?
SPEAKER_01:They're not props. His flashlight was shaking as he was backing up into what could only be described as webbing. Oh God!
SPEAKER_09:Oh god, no!
SPEAKER_01:Charlie couldn't believe his eyes. There was a face in that cocoon, a man's face. Help me. Please help me. Get me out of here.
SPEAKER_09:Jesus Christ! What the hell is going on? You're alive! Hold on!
SPEAKER_04:Don't struggle. The more you fight, the tighter it holds.
SPEAKER_09:You did this? You're sick! What the hell is wrong with you? This is straight-up kidnapping. What is all this?
SPEAKER_04:Food. Of course I can't eat them all at once. They'll keep until I'm hungry again or just need a snack.
SPEAKER_01:The air was thick with rot and silk. The scent of iron and perfume. Her pantry. Stocked with the lonely, the desperate, the unwise.
SPEAKER_09:Oh my god.
SPEAKER_01:One of her victims was dragged up a wall, wrapped in the silky web, the man screamed. Another case was a woman, yes, Charlotte even preyed on lonely broken women. One found herself in a bed, covered in spiders and spider webs.
SPEAKER_04:So many promises and so many lies, they all end the same: tied up, dried out, forgotten.
SPEAKER_01:Vritin thought they were special. Every one of them heard her whisper. I've never met anyone like you before. Let's go back to my place. And every one of them believed her.
SPEAKER_09:Please! Please! I'll go! I won't tell anyone, I swear!
unknown:Shh.
SPEAKER_04:You're shaking, darling. Let's have a drink. You should relax. Well, what are you? I haven't decided yet if I'll eat you now or save you for later.
SPEAKER_01:She circles him slowly. She moves like silk. Fluid, hypnotic, and subductive. Charlotte takes his hand and pushes him down on the couch. She straddles him and begins kissing him passionately.
SPEAKER_09:You're insane. You're one twisted bitch.
SPEAKER_04:I've been called worse. Please let me go. Why me? Because I was hungry. You also looked hungry. Hungry for something real.
SPEAKER_01:She began grinding him, becoming more aggressive. He noticed a red hourglass tattoo on both of her wrists. Let me show you what I am. He thought it was seduction. But spiders don't seduce, they lure. Her lips trace his skin, warmth fading with every touch. Then a change. A tremor. Her body cracking, splitting.
SPEAKER_09:What? What's happening? What the fuck is this? You wanted to see me, didn't you?
SPEAKER_01:Her skin began to split like shedding silk. Her mouth widened, tearing the sides open, revealing not lips, but black mandibles. Her eyes went black, eyes began appearing on her face. Eight eyes blinked open where two once were, her arms splitting open, revealing thick black, spindly legs. Thick, coarse hair covered the legs. Then more legs ripped out of her sides, pinning Charlie into the couch, her skin hanging loosely off her body. He thrashed. She began secreting a silky substance coming out of her. It began covering Charlie's body.
SPEAKER_04:Please don't!
SPEAKER_01:Aren't you just delicious? Don't fight it. I don't want to bruise the meat. As her sharp saliva-covered fangs pierced his throat, his screams died under the silk, and she drank. Every drop, every pulse, every ounce of what he once was drawn into her web of hunger.
SPEAKER_04:Money, flesh, promises. They all taste the same. Sweet at first, then stale in the morning. You're all just another thread in my perfect little web of mine.
SPEAKER_01:She fed until the silence became music, until the heartbeat under her teeth was no more. He was thin and mostly drained of his insides. Then she hung him gently, beside the others. A new ornament in her macabre gallery.
SPEAKER_04:Climbed up the water spout. What a curious web we weave, said the spider to the fly.
SPEAKER_01:By dawn, she would rejuvenate, look human again. This subductive serial killer walks among us, luring men and women into her trap, feeding and preying on them. And by night, she'd be hunting again.
SPEAKER_05:They say every city has its monsters. Some hide behind masks, some behind smiles, and some behind the softest touch. If you ever meet a woman alone at a bar with eyes like Midnight and alluring personality, be careful because you might just end up as traying. Myself and my brothers, the bringers of darkness, retreat to our lair. But do not be deceived. Our hunger is never stayed. Your fear, your suffering, your screen. They will linger with us until we return. But know this. You cannot hide. We will hunt you down. We will find you. We're already closer. Next time we take more than go fear.
