We dive into vulnerability to share a moment in our lives we thought we did not have direction or felt utterly defeated and the lessons learned from them to get to where we are now. We center self compassion, creativity and intergenerational healing. Host:Confetti All Around is hosted by Chicana Therapist Cynthia Perez, LCSW who has worked in the field of Los Angeles, CA for 15 years as a social worker in schools, homes and hospitals and realized what everyone wants is connection and a good story. Sofia and Cynthia sit down with Irisneri Alicea Flores as a returning visitor on the podcast. Irisneri shares weeks of intuitively guided research on Cynthia´s paternal lineage in Yucatán, Mexico. Irisneri takes a deeper dive into the living conditions in these times and the impact of Spanish colonization in Yucatán, Mexico and the maya people. Cynthia and Sofia put the epigenetic pieces together and find the commonalities of Cynthia´s fighting spirit and her Maya ancestors' deep rooted ways of resistance and representation. We explore the benefits of uncovering genealogy records for medical and big picture reasons.
