Why does God sometimes seem silent when we pray? Is there a biblical pattern for experiencing answered prayer? In this episode of Building Her Up, we explore the powerful connection between prayer, fasting, obedience, and compassion through a deep study of Isaiah 58 and Matthew 25:31–46.
In Isaiah 58, God confronts His people for practicing religious rituals while neglecting the needs of those around them. He reveals the kind of fasting He desires—not merely abstaining from food, but living a life marked by justice, generosity, mercy, and care for the poor, oppressed, and vulnerable.
