Interview with Dr. David Xavier Marquez, Interim Department Head at University of Illinois Chicago Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition
Dr. Xavier Marquez, PhD., is currently the Interim Department Head at University of Illinois Chicago Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition. One of his research projects involves lifespan fitness programs for older adults. He has a background in Psychology, and Public Health, most notably in physical activity and cognition of older Latinos. He is also involved with the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center, at Rush University. He leads a prospective study of older Latinos to determine what factors place Latinos more at risk and what factor are protective against Alzheimer’s disease.
