My guest today on the Spiritual Solopreneur is Joan McDonald.  Joan is one of the early pioneers of TRE Tension & Trauma Release Exercises. As a supervising trainer she has certified over 30 Trainers and 100’s of providers around the world. Now Joan is taking a step back to support the newly formed Certification Trainer Team in Canada. Her goal is to support Providers and Trainers in their passion and commitment to spread TRE to all of  Canada. 

TRE® (Tension, Stress & Trauma Release Exercise) is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. Created by Dr. David Berceli, PhD, TRE® safely activates a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system.

If you've ever seen a dog shaking and trembling during or after a frightening or traumatic experience, you've witnessed the basis of this modality.

Dr. Berceli realized the importance of this kind of tremoring as a healing practice when he saw children in war-torn countries doing it - involuntarily, of course.

As adults, we can implement this same strategy in everyday life - to reduce stress, tension or trauma that lives in the body.

Joan and I talked about where the body stores stress (pretty much everywhere), how the shaking releases the tension, and the importance of learning the technique from a qualified provider.
