One of the most calming experiences I’ve had on this podcast was interviewing James Kawainui, Native Hawaiian Elder, healer, teacher, author and speaker.

James’ healing energy is borne of 26 years’ experience helping people identify where and how they are out of alignment, and finding their way back to Pono – right relationship with themselves, their lives, and the Divine.

James comes by his native healing abilities honestly – he is of a 20-generation Kahuna lineage.

But he didn’t always embrace it. His path to becoming a Kahu was not planned; it began when he heard a clear message from his ancestors telling him it was time to go home. • He left a high-level corporate career, returned to Hawaii, and spent years rebuilding his life while learning to listen to ancestral guidance and honor his lineage.

We talked about the emotional components of illness & injury, how to think about past “mistakes”, the bane of sciatica, and more.

James’ message for today: Be aware of  your words. Words, thoughts, and emotional patterns can restore alignment and support healing.  Choose thoughts and words that support openness, gratitude, and alignment.
