All right, and then we do one of these numbers. Oh, yeah. Oh, that stung. We've done better, but we have done better. We've done worse. The first one. You're still coming on my mic. I thought I was always coming on your mic. Oh, pretty much every episode. This is the rain storm.
Okay. All right. So today, um, I had to go out to the gas station because I didn't have anything here. And uh, you didn't want my home brew coffee. Mr. I only do ice coffees. So we got two choices. Arctic vibe and galaxy vibe. You want one through 10 or 11 through 20. So you're wearing the star war shirt. No, I feel like it's only like the only possible way is you can drink the galaxy vibe with the star war shirt. Well, should we leave it to fate? No, no, the force. All right. All right. We'll see what happens. I'll go under 10. You're going to go under 10. It's 11 through 20. I'm getting galaxy vibe. Yep. All right. So one through 10, I'm getting Arctic 11 through 20. I'm getting galaxy. It's a 17. Looks like I'm getting the galaxy vibe. The force is with me. The audience will never know that it was a seven.
Oh, I am not strong with the force. I was looking at it. I'm like, Oh, I know I'm not wearing my glasses.
Oh man. Well, okay. Here we go. I really wanted the galaxy one too. Not bad. I almost texted you and said, Hey, I'll just pick up the energy drinks. Cause I have to go to the grocery store anyways. Yeah. I had, I had a drop off at a grandma's house. So I was like, yeah, perfect. Um, so yeah, galaxy sparkling strawberry watermelon. And it tastes exactly like that. It tastes like a nice, smooth sparkling strawberry watermelon. Arctic vibe is sparkling frozen berry. Yeah. I love blueberry. Also tastes like that. Nice. Is it blueberry? I'm assuming. Yeah. I think so. Like that.
I think that's the one that just gets the blueberry. Oh boy. All right. So the book is getting good. This book is getting really good. I mean, like, I, I am kind of like this last week. I'm like, let's can record this because I want to move on. You know what we didn't do last episode. Was that we didn't tell the audience what to read. True. So if you're joining us today, uh, read 41 to 60. I wrote it on the whiteboard. We're getting very serious now. I had to, I, I, I, I, well, let's, let's, uh, I'm going to hold it. I'm going to move the camera so you can see the whiteboard.
Oh my God. I put it right back where it's supposed to be. Hell yeah. So 41 to 60. Um, and because we don't have our producer here to help us with, uh, keeping track of names, dates, and ranges. Uh, I wrote it down this time. So I was just going to do it live. Right. No, I can't do that. Not anymore. We suck at names. I suck at names. You were right the first time. Hey, you're the one who told me that I confuse you with names. So I'm like, and it's a good point. Like I tell everyone that like I'm, I'm a software engineer. Like I'm good with numbers. I'm good with dates and stuff. I'm terrible with names. Like it took me a long time to remember some people's names. I'm good with things that happen. Awful with me. Yeah. Events events. Yeah. I work. Hey boss, what's up? Nobody knows that I don't know their name.
Someone say it in a sentence, please. Uh, but actually after writing some of this down, I did, uh, I did a, I did a, I did a did some things were a little bit enlightening. So we got, obviously as you can tell, the book is about Veritas and Corbin. So in 41 to 60, we have eight Corbin chapters and six Veritas chapters. Hell yeah. And everyone else is getting one chapter. So we got an Evanist, a Cohen, a Castell, Camlin, and Ventos. Yeah. The one chapter people I was like, who the fuck are you now? Yeah. Every single chapter. It takes me a second. I'm like, I don't remember this name. Well, besides Cohen or sigh sign, she was factually pronounced Cohen in the book. Was that what the, the, the, the audio book is Cohen weird site. It looks like Cywin. Yeah. That's how I would have pronounced it when I first saw it. Uh, yeah, besides her, like when I get to a Camlin chapter, I'm like, who are you again? And then they mentioned Braith. I'm like, Oh, yeah. Ventos. Who is Ventos? Ventos is new. This is Ventos first chapter. Cause I was sitting there. I'm like, I don't remember this guy, but all right. In fact, in fact, it's a, it's a, in the audio book, it's only a minute and 34 chapter. In the book, it's like two and a half pages just about.
And it's just like, I'm really happy that I had to go back and like check this because it forced me to, because when I was listening to the audio book, my thoughts are all over the place. Let's get it straight here. When I was listening to the audio book, I totally forgot there was a Ventos chapter. Didn't even like, it just kind of came and went. Wasn't paying attention. But uh, so I actually wrote it down on the whiteboard. This is kind of the same way. It wasn't a quick, it wasn't a long chapter. No, but that's just it. In these one, one chapters that these people are getting there, they all have to just drop in bombs. It kind of reminds me of dragon doom, but done way better. Little bit. Yeah. And is it maybe because we just read dragon doom, but I mean, there were the dragon doom where there was a chapter of like half a page. Yeah. Sleep awakens. Right. But for instance, in Ventos is one chapter that he got, we find out he's in Torren's hold. He's got a hound with him and he's writing a letter that he sends off with a hawk. What that letter is, where he's going and what he's doing unknown completely. I got, and I got no thoughts because it doesn't even say where the hawk is going to. He's definitely doing some sneaky stuff with Corbin. Corbin is, they're setting Corbin up to be the good guy.
Everybody is setting him up to be so over. He's having some sneaky links with a Corbin's parents. Giggity.
He took a special interest in Corbin when he came into the town. Not Ventos. Hey, Ventos is brand new. No, Ventos was in Corbin's chapters.
He was? Yeah. You sure it wasn't Mike Hill? Mike Hill? I'm like 80, I'm 85% sure it was Ventos. And he was, Corbin was running, taking his wolf, wolf in for a walk and Ventos came into town and him and Ventos had a little one on one.
So that hawk is definitely writing about Corbin. They're doing this whole chosen one. Corbin's last chapter. Corbin's last chapter? No, no, that we read. There's eight chapters about before he runs away because he goes up to the mountain. I got to see where Torren's hold is. It's not, I don't think it's. Nope, there's the dark wood. Nope, not in here.
Because in Cohen's chapter, she's eavesdropping on the Kings. Also there's, that's the Ventos chapter? Yeah, 44. 54. 54, it literally is half a page. Michael slowed his gaze, not leaving Corbin, something fierce in his expression. He glanced at Ventos. Okay. So he did show up. Interesting. Very next chapter is Ventos. Yeah. So that was a Corbin chapter. Yeah, I got, I got that confused Mike Hill. See, it's when he's walking around and storms coming with him. I am Ventos. Okay. Yeah. See what I mean? So like listening to, doing the audio book with this book is now becoming like, I had to actually physically reread like several chapters in here. There's a reason I don't like audio books. Yeah. I miss a lot in audio books just because I'm so ADHD. Yeah. I mean, at first it wasn't bad because there wasn't a lot going on. It was just conversation. But now there's like one liners being dropped all over the place. For instance, in Evanus's chapter, we find out that he's an informant for Rin and Hellion and Khan, I can't remember his full name, Khan, Khan, Conway, his brother, Conway 20. Yeah. Right. He's they just, they in passing, they're whispering to each other. Hey, no one knows who we serve or what we're about. And then they move on like huge drop right there. And then the queen fights over them later on. Right. Because they're running away from Rin. Correct. Yeah. So the queen comes in and I was pretty, I was a pretty gnarly. Fuck yeah. I really liked the I got something to teach you. Pocket sand. Every time. Classic move, classic move. And I never see it coming. Like he gets, I get what they didn't articulate that there was sand on the ground. But yeah, it's a classic dirty move. I think we saw that move played out in Abercrombie's book too. At one point I'm like 90 percent sure. Yeah. Yeah. Like you said, it's the classic. Throw something in your eyes and kick you in the nuts. There ain't no honor here. This is all about life and death shit. Oh my goodness.
Yeah. So God, we just dropped a bunch of stuff on you. Like this book is getting good. There's a lot of stuff happening all over the place. Castiel's chapters. His chapter was pretty funny because all I can think of is, ah, hell not again. As the, as I heard of Hunan came running at him trying to get that, get the iron from the, from the barge. So you know how I picture him? Yeah. You know, uh, just David Thrombs. So the giant red headed, uh, bearded guy. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. From the, from the North.
Yeah. Yeah. I don't know his name either. Torin. That sounds about, that sounds close. Something giant Spain, Torin giant Spain. Yeah. Okay. So that guy, yeah. 100 percent how I picture Castel. I could see it just like also in these, the giant show up again. Like, let's do this. Oh my goodness. So we find out that the Hunan, uh, they captured a giant. They finally got a giant. They got the, and they, uh, Castel has been finally informed of the oncoming God war. Uh, after torturing a giant and busting up some shins, he says that they need the iron to make weapons, weapons for the upcoming God war, which let me wonder like who outside are the Hunan on? I think we just assume that they're fighting again. Veritas. Yeah. I guess we assume they're with Veritas, but like, I feel like they're a neutral party just trying to protect themselves. Honestly, we don't know enough about them right now. I don't think, I know. It's like they really haven't. I mean, why do we just assume the giants are fighting for the dark star versus the bright star? I didn't write that down yet. What was the actual, up with Veritas at the time, kind of sort of giant friend. Yeah. They're also fighting giants though. So yeah. Yeah. I'd like to know more about them. I hope we get a giant chapter at some point at some point, chapter where, uh, where this solar eclipse happened. Yep. Yep. And everybody passes out Corbin and Veritas. And we find out that Veritas is covered in shadows and one of the demons comes after Corbin, which, you know, he's supposed to be the opposite of the bright star, but then he doesn't want to. Okay. So, but Veritas is because he's, uh, Aeon says that he has him.
That was a pretty big moment. Oh, I was like, where are we going with this? I'm sitting here like, why aren't you reacting? Yeah. I know that Veritas is not quite, it's not the bright star. Um, I mean, a sense, I mean, we, the dark God has his talons in him. Yeah. So, and then on top of that, um, Veritas is number one man also starts to go a little dark. So like everybody, Veritas goes dark. Veritas is a shield, shield warrior. I cannot remember his name. You mean the fairs? That's the prince. Correct. Veritas is the shield warrior. Let me back up. So there is, who is saying he's the bright star, right? Is very clearly under, um, the evil God's control. He's cloaked in shadows. He's like, yeah, I got him, but I don't really want him. I want you to Corbin. Right. Um, and then Veritas starts to go dark along with that. And everything is just 100% hinting that, um, there and Veritas are going to be the bad guys, but Corbin should be. But then everything is throwing Corbin towards being the bright star and he just doesn't know yet. Yeah. It's very classic literature. We all know what's going to happen. Yeah. So in this, in this respect, I feel like the, uh, now AO, AO, AO, AO, AO, AO, AO, AO, AO, AO, and carbarnal. Is the AO is the good one or the bad one. I got to get the gods straight. I need to write the gods down still because they're still confusing me with Abercrombie's and everyone else's gods. But anyways, um, let's just say the dark star, I feel, yes, in classic evil, literal, literature, there he's trying to manipulate and get control of everyone he can. And I feel like Corbin was his main target because he knew Corbin would be the light stars avatar eventually. And if he could convert Corbin, then he would for sure have an upper hand. Like if I, if I can get you to join me, then I think we can get the upper hand. You knock out the enemy before he becomes an enemy going back and shooting baby Adolf Hitler. Yeah. Because I feel like in the, in the, in the path of the light, like in the path of the light, you it's more of like a, you gotta, you gotta find it. Like it's not going to, like evil seems to come to people where the path of the righteous, like they just are righteous and it comes to them or they ask for it eventually. Like he, like Corbin is a good person and uh, could not be converted. Like something deep inside him said, this is a bad situation. I don't want nothing to do with it. And there it is who is, I won't say weak of heart, but it tends to be with like evil characters, like little give it giving into it was like, yes, I want the power. I want the power. Like you seem powerful. You gotta be the good person. I don't, but man, Veritas is the one like that. That's the one that's interesting that they're already turned. Like I already know he's, he's following the path of the, the empire and you think the fairs stabbed his dad. Oh for sure. I saw that. Like I even said that before, like I said that like in the podcast before I yeah, when they left the there alone in the room with his dad and one other person, I'm like, I before I even read it, I already knew how I was going to play out. Dad's going to be dead. If there's going to be injured and of course anyone else in the room was going to be blamed for it. Like classic hierarchy. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. I don't, I don't without a doubt. And then the war raging and even the prophecy said the dark star would have to be a kinslayer. Like, guys, like for sure. For sure.
Do you think Veritas is going to take over in a third spot? Okay. Now that, now that Veritas is my most interesting character because he is still really good because he believes that there is doing the right thing. I don't know how, like, I don't know how people don't see it, but like no one likes an empire. Like, even though it might be a good thing, like the Roman empire, a lot of did a lot of good, but had to do a lot of bad to make the good, uh, the Ottoman empire. I don't know, like the empire strikes back. Um, so I don't think an empire is like the right way to go here. Like, let's have some autonomy with the, with the other villages. Anyways, I don't see how people don't see that not there is going to be a bad guy yet, but when Veritas finds out, like Veritas is slowly being manipulated. So when he had the option to save or kill the King and that darkness inside of them, I don't think that was his conscience. I literally think that was a eight, the dark star saying, kill him, fucking kill him, cut his fucking head off. Um, and overwhelmed them. And I don't know the thing that I'm most curious about is the turning point when Veritas realizes he's gone down the wrong path. Is he going to flip and try to kill him with there because he wants to do the right thing or is he going to be totally consumed by the path that he's on and join the fair completely? Like that's what I'm curious about. So you're wondering if we're going to see an Obi-Wan Kenobi and you were supposed to, I have, you were my brother. Exactly. Yes. So yes. I'm, I'm, so I'm, yes, exactly. We're just going to pepper this episode with star wars. I mean, why not? Why not? But there's exactly that. Yes. That's awesome. That's fucking awesome. Yeah. Galaxy vibes today. But yeah, yeah. I mean, is, is, is Veritas going to be able, is there going to be a battle between the Theron Veritas is very, is Nithair going to have to, cause I feel like when you're going down the path of the dark side, it's a lonely path. So like there, something about him just doesn't like, I know they're setting him up to be the dark star. Right. That's probably not the name. As the darkness, the big bad, the bad guys. So they're setting him up. The evil God. He almost seems too easy to be set up. Does that make sense? Oh, they absolutely are like parading him out front so that you watch this hand down here. Oh, so Nithair is blazing the trail, but eventually he's going to get, he's going to get cut off and be like, look, look, we just used you because you were the prince, the King's son and we needed you to, yeah, but really the power is over here. Correct. Correct. Wow. Okay. Interesting. Yeah. I mean, maybe, maybe Veritas is the one they're trying to turn because honestly, I think it's Veritas. We don't have Nithair chapters. We have Veritas chapters and something our producer mentioned is it's really funny because the chapters, even because we're, we're used to Abercrombie because we read him first. Whereas when the chapter says this is a so-and-so chapter, you get it from their point of view. Whereas every Corbin chapter is talked about through the eyes of everyone witnessing Corbin.
Cause it's not first person. So you ever notice that like a Veritas chapter is all about Nithair and you never get like, you get a little bit of the point of view from Veritas, little bit of point of view from everybody else. It's not, it's not a first person book, but that's like my brother and I had a twin moment on that one. It's not like, ooh, mind blowing or anything, but it's not specifically from the point of view of that character, which is fine. It's cool. I like it. Like this book is getting good. I didn't want to stop. No, I really didn't. I did not want to stop. Especially when I saw the next chapter was a Corbin chapter. Yeah. Yeah. 61 is a Corbin chapter. And he's easily my favorite character right now. Yeah, for sure. Like, do you think all his, I know I think we talked about this last chapter or last episode. Do you think his animal thing is because he's the bright star? I think so. Cause animals are like, they know they're in tune with that kind of stuff. Correct. And nature, you have storm element, that shield, which was awesome. Storm and shield like bad ass. Yeah.
You killed my dog. And like when, when the, I forgot who it was, but one of the attackers, the sons was like, no, you killed your dog. Yeah. I'm like, oh, dude, respect. Like he didn't, he didn't want it to end that way. He just wanted to scare him a little bit, but dad got, oh, that was a good chapter. So the entire time I'm reading that, I'm like, oh no, this is how storms going to die. Same. This is how they're going to set storm up to die. Oh my God. Damn it. That was a good twist. And then it turns out that the horse just kicked the hell out of that dog. Oh my God. And who would, I never didn't see it coming. Didn't see it coming. Cohen's like, it was your horse. I'm like, the fucking horse.
Every time you say her name, it doesn't, I've read it and it doesn't sound right in my head. It's that's not, oh yeah. We want to know, no, no, no, no. It else is cool. Braith is Australian. That checks out. It does. Doesn't it? It sounds so like he's like, I do enjoy Kamlin chapters because he does a very good Australian accent. That checks out.
I'm like, I can't do it. I'm sorry for, I mean, I used to be good at accents back when I was in theater, but not anymore. That's pretty good. He's Australian anyways, but Cohen, yeah, that's a, I, like, I, when I first read the book, I'm like, see when, and then I finally listened to the book and Mike Cohen, who the fuck is Cohen? Oh, I win or yeah. Yeah. I'm going to keep, I'm going to keep my own thing. Yeah. Well, okay.
When she said that was your horse, I'm like, that was like a rush of relief that storm was not going to be killed and awesome that the horse is now shield until Corbin's last chapter and you're like, son of a bitch. What happened last chapter where he ran, he tried to help that, uh, the kid that was getting bullied. Oh yeah. It finally, yeah. The bully's arm. Um, right. Right. Destroyed his arm. Like it was just hanging there. It just minced me. Like, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, like, I was thinking last, not last, it was fallout. Like just, yeah. But like, he tried to kill Corbin. You trade up straight up tried to kill Corbin. Yeah, I don't like wraith is a, like, I, I was going to be his word versus Corbin's word. Yeah. And it's funny before that chapter, I was going to bring up a point. When are we going to see wraith and Corbin get into it? Like, like, I thought it was going to be when there were adults and they had to work together because the God war was coming about once he got his sword. Yeah. That I was like, all right, well, it's not going to happen yet. Right. Right. Like he's going to have enough smarts to be like, like, not smarts, but like honor and respect for being an adult, being given his first sword. Like, Nope. No, he's still beaten up people younger than him. Uh, yeah, that. Oh man. Yeah. Cause he threw what's his nuts against the tree. He hit his head. Wraith was being attacked. What's his nuts came back, not Corbin out. And then wraith jumped on Corbin was about to can kill him with his sword. Like, they're going to fucking end you for this. Not if they don't find out. And then, yeah, how's that going to play out? They're on the run, right? I mean, like I said, it's going to be, it's a race word versus Corbin's word. And I think it's the queen's word. The queen said, you hurt any of my subjects. I will put your wolf down essentially. I mean, and that's the thing, like even the wolf coming to, you know, the rescue. Yep. All right. That's not how it worked. Yeah. Yeah. The only people that saw it were Wraith's friend and the big kid. Yeah. And the big kids already being played up as a coward. So there's no way he's going to come to his rescue. He might, but I expect Corbin to grow a pair of hands. No, but I think this is what's going to drive Corbin out of the village. And then it's going to start him on his quest because everybody start, everybody needs to be chased out of their town. Nobody leaves like I'm going on adventure unless your name's Bilbo Baggins or you get pulled out of your town. Correct. Like, but like something needs to happen to set in motion for him to leave. Right. Right now he's living happily in his town. Yeah. I think this is going to be the catalyst to go out. Yeah. Yeah. And I, so you think, so that's a good, that's, I think, I think that's a good thing. I think that's a pretty fair point is he's just going to leave. He's going to pack his things and run. Yeah. I don't even know if he's got his things. Gar is coming with him.
Gar, I mean, he has to come with him. So I think Gar is going to like have that standing on the road, like, Oh, it took you this long. Huh? Maybe. Where are you being boy? Maybe.
Speaking of which, so our producer, Kevin sent us a text. He called it out. He was right for sure. He believes Gar is an angel. If he's not an angel, he's at least like an acolyte or something. He's definitely, he's definitely something powerful for the God war. Good side. I, he's, he's definitely there. And I'm, I know I said that in the text, but I think the twit, the brothers, um, con and hell young, yeah. Con and hell. Yeah. I think they're involved some way as well. All of them are, you know, because they ran away for a reason. We don't know what that reason is. They fight similar to how Gar's even Corbin says they fight similar to how Gar is. They have differences. Yeah. His guard mainly focuses on two hands. Whereas you know, right. But they have like similar things. That's why helly, helly on, helly on things with his head. Con thinks with his, well, he's a, he's a berserker. But I mean, if we, if we know for sure, cause Mike hell came and was doing a little checkup like, Hey, Gar, you're doing good. Gar was like very proud of the fact that he was doing good. And so we know, we know for sure the counselor to the King, good guy, trying to do the right thing, knows that Corbin is something special. Gar is there to protect him. So if we can assume that everything Gar is doing is in line with trying to protect Corbin, we can assume that because Gar pointed out that you should train with Helly on that Helly on and Con are also something special. So yes, I absolutely agree there. Connecting dots. Those are my dots in my head, like a little more scientific. I agree with those dots. But yeah, so I'm curious like what ranks they all are because, uh, Gar being the protector, Helly on being the trainer, Con being a just damn well, I mean, we really don't know anything about Gar other than he left somewhere with an injury. You think so we early, I, I just assumed that the fight that happened earlier was for the twins, the, I think they're twins. I don't know. They're just brothers. Brothers. Yeah.
Which fight?
The king and the Kings. Oh, the duel. Yeah. The duel with. Yeah. So we assumed that that fight was over the twins because we saw them sneaking and talking. Right. What if it was about Gar? Could have been absolutely could have been. Because we, what do we know about him? Nothing. We don't know. We really don't know. The only thing we know. Badass with a hurt leg. Yeah. And that barely gets, like, I think the, I think the leg thing is just a, like a, like a cover. Like, I don't think it's a, I don't think it's really affecting him. Well, did you know I'm not actually left handed? Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. So that's absolutely like, yeah. So Gar, I mean, all we know now for sure is because when Mike hell came and said, Hey, you know, I visited your parents years and years ago saying Corbin is going to have to leave eventually. And then his parents were, did this such a super cool thing. Like his dad, Oh my God, I will do anything I can to set my son up with success. Even if it's giving my own life, like they're, they're leaning into it. Like they're not, they're not. Yeah. You can't have my son. They're actually leaning into it, training him, preparing him when Corbin was born. Yeah. Like maybe he was born under the like a minute and a half, by the way, has stopped that recording and started up again.
All right. So yeah, something totally happened when Corbin was born to somehow signal he's something special whether or not it's good or bad. Clearly it's good because Corbin's making those decisions by himself. I think you hit the nail on the head with that, uh, the dark God trying to get him, get to him because he knows he's the good guy. Oh yeah. Yeah. I think you hit that nail on the head. Yeah. If I can get you, I will drink that, you know, a hundred percent. Yeah. Yep. Yep. Yep. Um, so that's, I mean, that's Corbin in a nutshell. Like his eight chapters essentially just growing storm shield, Wraith, which sucked. He's on the run. Only theory there is I'm going to, I'm going to go ahead with Tim. Like this is, this is his moment. Like every, everyone's going to say, get out, get out because otherwise otherwise storm's dead and I don't think storm is going to leave us. No, he's got to go back. He's got to get it because he's got to get shield. If he leaves shield after naming him and being protect like, so GAR can't leave aside. He is a swan. He's going to go home. He's going to tell his parents what happened and then he's going to run or he's going to tell his sister he's leaving. Yeah. They're going to have a brother sister moment. She, they're going to leave. Cohen's coming with Cohen's coming with for sure. I think for sure. I think, um, I hope he, I think he's like, I don't think he's a liar. I think he's going to tell his mom, dad, mom, pop, mom. Well he had a beat into him not to lie. So I think he's going to go. Well, even beat, like not even beat like it's just part of his character. Yeah. Don't you want to disrespect your mother like that boy? Well, right. Right. Right. So like beaten, like I guess it's a little strong return, but I think like it's fully in there. You know, he is not a liar. Right. So he's going to, he's going to tell his parents. And then I think honestly, like their parents are going to be like, this is the moment. Like this is, you gotta go. And then I think a lot of things going to come to fruition with Gar here. Yeah. Well, and, and the fair is actually tracking that Michael was seen with Brennan in Brennan's court. So the fair is coming that way already. So I think that's another reason that, you know, we got to get Corbin out of here, like by fate, get him out of here. Yeah. That's happening there. There's a storm of ruin. No, what? There's a God war of ruin. Everyone's, everyone's in on it.
What else? Camlin's chapter real quick. Now that we got Corbin and a lot of that discussion and Gar, Gar and Corbin and Camlin and Michael, like not Camlin, but Michael, that was awesome. Cohen awesome. Wraith bitch.
Anyways, Camlin, we find out Evanus was the man on the inside was braids man, but didn't work for Braith. He actually works for Rin. And I didn't know until Kevin pointed it out, our producer, that it was fully mentioned in chapter 60 that he did betray them and he going to get some like he's top of the shit list for Braith.
We don't really know what they're about though. In the dark wood, Braith is off to do something. They're going to go hang out in the mountains in their little cabin for a little bit. And then they're going to get revenge. That's that's where we ended with them. I think he's going to be a good guy. He's going to do the old switcharoo Robin Hood.
I think they're more than just bad guys for sure. I think at best Punisher like because I mean he seemed pretty they take people in the rating and whatnot like the way they acquire their goods and whatnot questionable for sure. Questionable questionable, but I think they have some kind of moral and I really want to find out where Braith came from because he's keeping that close to his chest. So they're a neutral party right now. I would say chaotic good and or neutral. What makes a man turn neutral power lost for gold neutral or is your heart born full of neutrality? Futurama. You're wondering who's everyone a quote that lives right in your head. That one was right in my head. Fair enough. Every time I hear the word like neutral. Yeah, that's what starts to play. Yeah, something we do know about Ebenez too, which was just again a sentence in a small chapter was that he holds one of the seven treasures. He's wearing the necklace.
So Ebenez has the necklace doesn't know how to tap the power, but apparently he's got I didn't I did read this again, but maybe some elemental powers. He's the counselor to a king with elemental powers is what was said in the chapter. So we know Ebenez has the necklace. We know the Giants have the axe of the axe. They stole it. They stole it. Yep.
There has something doesn't he? I don't know. I thought they said that there had something you might and that he was going to look for more. Sure. I mean that's in the there's yeah, and if there's like you use this. I'm assuming that there is trying to get everything right.
We don't know where the others are yet. The other six, six or five or six treasures. We don't know where they're at yet. Pieces of eight pieces of random things that we had in our pockets at the time.
Yeah. So that's that those are our thoughts and theories from 41 to 60. I don't I don't have anything else yet. We covered Corbin Veritas, Evanus Cohen, Castell, Kamalyn, Ventos. That's it. There's a lot going on. A lot going on. This book's getting good. Although I am sad because I saw that some of the artwork has the sword going all the way up the spine. So the sword, the sword, the axe, I think a spear and something else. And I didn't get that little upset. I need to buy them. So I've been just buying the Kindle editions, right? And like all of them, I'm missing having putting on my bookshelf. Yeah, but this one's good. I'm gonna start buying the actual editions after the Kindle editions. This one's good. This one's good. Worth it. Let's get started, as you can see with our lackadaisical first two podcasts about this show. But now, like I said, we're getting serious. There's a lot going on. Predictions finally can be made. There's all kinds of subplots going on. Tons of character development. Really liking it. Can't wait to continue it. Big fan. We are going to finish Malice by the next podcast. Oh, not Malice. No, Malice. Yeah, book one, Malice. We're going to finish Malice, which is part of the faithful and the fallen.
And then after that, we're going to read book two. Book two.
I'm going to read book two. We are. This podcast will cover all of the faithful and the fallen at this point, for sure. I'm in.
That's all we got. That is all we got. Do I want to leave you? The reading rainstorm. Or unless you've been doing something different. I don't know. You have anything fun that you've seen? Followed out, but I haven't seen any of it yet. It's good. If you're a purist. Okay. This is the part of the show where we're going to talk to you about some fun stuff going on. Something that you might be interested if you follow the show, because we're interested in it. You might be interested in it. A big fan of the game, Fallout. He's obsessed with it. His dog's names come from fallout. I proposed to my wife while she was playing fallout. So fallout has just been a big part of us. So if you're a super purist about fallout, you may not like the show, but if you can watch it because it's its own thing in the fallout universe where the characters would act accordingly to the game, but not like pure to the game, then you'll love it. So I have a buddy who cosplays fallout and is a bigger fallout nerd than me. You can quote Lorde left and right. Does he like it? Loves it. Okay. He says he has zero. The only issue that he has is with how the Brotherhood of Steel is portrayed. And that's because he's a big Brotherhood of Steel fan. Yeah. I could see that. But then he argues that it's a different chapter of Brotherhood of Steel in every chapter. Does there, does it the same way? Exactly. Every fallout game is its own story. I've seen none of it because my wife and my schedule hasn't lined up. It's dark. Yep. And, uh, yeah, I tried to watch it. I tried to fallout, it's dark. Well, yeah, I know. But like I was trying to watch it with Oliver.
So I turned it on. Obviously not a good show for kids whatsoever, but he's very, very young. He's like 10, 11 months. And all of a sudden I saw, I looked over there, a scene started and I'm like looking over to see if he's paying attention and he was like locked on. I'm like, this is turning off. We're, we're turning this off. He's paying attention. You're getting to the stage where you can't do that. Yep. Yep. It's done.
There was one little bloodshed scene. He was like, like locked in. I'm like, not for kids. Awesome show though. I do love it. Uh, yeah, I have a lot. I want to. Yeah. So there's fallout and then something I actually got into was popular, not popular science, but the new, new scientist, new scientist magazine nerd. Yeah. The new scientist. I subscribed to a magazine for the first time in forever because I was watching Big Bang theory and then I was looking at doing some research on a theory and then that theory was posted in the new scientist magazine from 19 something, something. And I'm like, I wonder if that magazine still exists. It does. And it was 20 bucks for 10 weeks theory. There was a callback that Tom had a big bang theory to argue in whether zombies are not zombies or their own thing. And for those that have been listening, we had that same argument, Sheldon Cooper and I, yeah. Uh, zon October zombie month. So during our zombie book, we had that same argument. Yeah. And I had no idea. So I haven't watched verbatim big bang three. My wife and I were working our way through it. And when that episode came on, I geeked out and I'm like, Oh my God. I mean, it was, it was ver almost verbatim the arguments that they were having. So if anyone's watching that and like, they just ripped off big bang theory, we didn't, but it's damn close. Okay. That's the end. That's all we got. Thank you. Check out the website. Finally got it up there. Uh, that's my job.
I'm into other things. So check it out. Let me know what you think and email us, hit us up on Instagram. Check us out on Reddit. We'll comment with you guys. We look forward to your comments. Thank you for watching. This is the reading rainstorm.
I tried to end the episode by slamming the drink.Ó
