Speaker 1:

Hello Soul Family, welcome to another episode of Enlighten Elevate. I am so happy and excited to introduce our guest today. Her name is Sarah Buehner. She is the host of the Dream Life and Business Podcast. She is also a former therapist turned intuitive channel, psychic, medium, life and business coach. Sarah, thank you so much for being here.

Speaker 2:

Thank you for having me. I'm just so excited to be here and to be with you and have this conversation today.

Speaker 1:

Yes, you are a spiritual entrepreneur and you coach others, and I want to talk about spiritual entrepreneurship. I think the concept is very hard for people to grasp sometimes, especially with some of the old world thinking you've got to punch a clock, you've got to work somewhere and do that. When people will ask me, what is your dream, what would you like to do, and I will say, well, I would like to do my spiritual work full time and everybody's like, well, maybe you should look at this.

Speaker 2:

I only laugh because I remember that I still get it too.

Speaker 1:

And it's not that people don't believe in you. I just think the concept is still pretty foreign and people, I think there's that thing you know well, we all have bills to pay, right. They think, okay, well, how are you going to do that to make money?

Speaker 2:

You know how is that possible?

Speaker 1:

How can you love what you do, or the concept of like I really like what you talk about on your podcast of working less but making more?

Speaker 2:

Yes, and how do you do that in a way that also feels ethical and good? As a spiritual entrepreneur, you know it's easy to scale when you don't care so much about the people you're serving, but when we're spiritual, it's also how do? We do that without burning out, and then how do we do that and still take care of ourselves but make enough money? It's a whole thing. It's what I'm here for. It's my main jam these days is to talk about this.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so let's start with first. When you are talking to people or you can talk about your own experience, how would you talk about approaching or like building, creating and running a spiritual business compared to what is traditionally out there in the world today?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, yeah, so I love this question. So the people that I work with are helpers, healers, spiritual entrepreneurs really anybody that wants to make the world a better place is my kind of people If you want to be in business and help other people and live your best life. And so I have a process that I work with people through and I'll take you through it right now. So the very first thing is most of us we're so passionate about, for example, like being a ricky practitioner or being a coach or being a therapist that we are so focused on the service rightfully so, because it's really cool and exciting and fun and we want to help other people that a lot of spiritual entrepreneurs forget to also think about themselves first, because we're not seeing it necessarily as, again, a lot of spiritual entrepreneurs, again just a business to make money. It's a vehicle for our service. So one of the very first things all spiritual entrepreneurs need to do I just got interrupted by my guides. My guide said first is to recognize and know that it is possible to succeed as a spiritual entrepreneur. And that's where it's really really important to find spiritual entrepreneurs that are succeeding so that your subconscious can start to see it as a thing that can happen. Also following me, our mutual friend Laura Powers, people like Leonie Dawson, denise Duffield Thomas the list goes on really just knowing that there are people that make six and seven figures a year doing spiritual and healing work serving other people and actually, because they're succeeding, because they're in that abundant mindset, they have the time and the energy and the freedom to elevate their impact. They have more time to do podcasts, they have more time to, or more money and abilities to hire other people in their business so that we can focus on the spiritual work and also continue to support other people and bless other people within our business. So the very first thing is to know it's possible and if you have resistance around that, start following people religiously that are doing it for your mind. But the next piece is really, practically speaking, and I don't know if you know this about my journey, but I actually started out super nerdy science. I was sequencing DNA at the age of 16. I started out in biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins, super nerd, and so I'm as nerdy and scientific as I am intuitive, and so I think we can blend both together, meaning that I think about it like figuring out where I want to go and then reverse, engineering that outcome and then utilizing and I'll get into this a little bit in a minute, but utilizing the scientific method to test and lean into what works and what doesn't. Now breaking that down a little bit more because it's like a huge, it's like a 10 hour training.

Speaker 2:

The very first thing is to ask yourself, in addition to helping other people, what do I want for myself? What do I need to survive? What do I need to make sure I can pay my bills? And I actually call that your baseline survival number and I help people calculate that in my coaching program. So what do I need to survive?

Speaker 2:

And then, what do I need to thrive, to really live my best life? To live in your dream house, to travel, to eat the kind of food that you want. It can be super luxurious, but it can also be. I just want to have financial security, or I want to be able to buy the clothes that I want or not worry about things or pay for my kiddos gymnastics or fix that tire easily. So it doesn't have to be. It can be, but it doesn't have to be the super grandiose plan, but it's recognizing.

Speaker 2:

Okay, what do I need first for this to work and I think, because so many of us again are other focused, we forget that piece when most of us are natural people pleasers and we have to heal that. So, coming back to what do I need first for this to work and then really identifying okay, how do I set up my business so that I can reach that easily? What should my offers look like, what should and what are my price points and how do I really wanna structure this? And that's really kind of like an art and a science. But once you have that and you've decided that you're going to succeed, then it's choosing an aligned marketing strategy and really learning.

Speaker 2:

There's a skill set around marketing that I feel most spiritual entrepreneurs we don't have naturally, like copywriting and sales and all of that. It either feels gross or we don't have those skills. And so actually I learned those skills along the way. I've been self employed for 10 years now and really building that skill set so that we can consistently attract the right people to our business without burning out. We know that what we've set up will serve us and the irony is, once you know that your business serves you, you don't have to focus on the money anymore. You can get back to the service. So I could go a million different ways with this and keep you here till midnight. That's the basic essence is deciding, knowing it's possible, identifying what you want for yourself, making sure that your business is aligned to that, and then learning the skill set or receiving support around the skill set for marketing, messaging and sales, so that you can create something that works for you 24 seven without you having to burn out marketing all the time.

Speaker 1:

Right, can you talk a little bit about your journey? So I know that you were a former therapist. Can you talk about like? Did you do like a slow transition where, like you started or you decided maybe I'll do my spiritual self part time, or did you just have a moment where you were thought to yourself? You know what. This isn't serving me anymore. I'm too burned out. What can I do?

Speaker 2:

You know you talk a little bit about that. Yes, yes. So I'll say to you that in my human design, my life path, or my incarnation cross, is called the left angle cross of migration, which means that, first off, travel is really important. So that helps me justify to my husband that we need to travel more. But it also means that I'm always constantly evolving and traveling in my own inner journey and also in my life, that it constantly evolves and changes and that I'm here to help other people with that as well. So it's been a process, an evolution over time, and I'll say, too, that I feel like alignment is that right. So, especially when we're creating an intuitive business, a spiritual business, alignment is a process and it requires us to really listen when things get tough.

Speaker 2:

So some of the stuff I learned you know the easier way. Some of it I learned the hard way. It was really a gradual transition with a couple of different burnout points. I started as a therapist in 2010,. Opened my private practice in 2013, part time, and then I was like, oh my gosh, this is so much better than working for other people. I worked in a nonprofit before that. I did quit in 2014 from my nonprofit and then scaled into or stepped into my private practice at that time. I did not have the same level of like marketing and business stuff back then.

Speaker 2:

I just wanted to help people and so then, I gradually just added in my counseling office empath coaching and I learned Reiki and I offered Reiki for a bit and that evolved into a whole healing center from 2016 to 2020 in St Louis. And so I had other people, we had courses, we had classes. It was a really cool place. I was burning out from that. The first burnout was because I was undercharging and overworking. I was seeing like 40 clients a week and charging way too little and I burned out from that. So the healing center was the okay, how do I continue to help people and take care of myself? And I built the healing center but that started to grow. It grew really quickly and it was amazing, but it was more of being a manager than it was being a helper or healer anymore. So I started to burn out from that.

Speaker 2:

So with COVID that closed, my guides told me that I would immediately shift to working globally with other women and I was like, okay, cool. So I like got Zoom going, kept my private practice going through 2021, I believe I gave up my therapy license. That's its own story I'm happy to share and stepped fully into coaching, life coaching, business coaching and intuitive work. So it's been a gradual evolution and I will say that the way that I, I don't think you have to like destabilize your whole life to become a spiritual entrepreneur. It's much easier if you gradually just take the steps that feel safe enough, like you're taking the risk, you're starting, and then, once you really get it going, then you can gradually step in more. The nervous system likes that a lot more and I think that gradual process has helped me over the years not freak out with big change.

Speaker 1:

Yes, that's Sarah. That's an amazing journey to transition from all that. I was listening to a lot of the stuff you talk about. Yeah, you were talking about being the best version of yourself mentally, physically, spiritually so that you can be successful, and I think that is actually really important, like that balance, and I don't think that that's even talked about. I mean, I didn't. Until he went down to my spiritual path. I really did not understand how all of that integrates and how that really helps you to be in alignment. And do you want to give people advice as far as how to maybe work on that? I mean, I know that's going to be different for each individual. I understand that.

Speaker 2:

I think it's kind of like with the business piece it's first knowing and deciding knowing that you can achieve balance and wellness and deciding that that's what you're going for. For me, like when I'm coaching people in business and when I'm leading my own business, I only make decisions and only work from a space of alignment, from a space of feeling well and having that energetic hygiene and self-care. And that is not common in the business world. The business world usually pushes like hustling and working through and kind of exploiting yourself, but to me that's just as toxic as corporate or nonprofit environments that exploit us. So I think it all began before I was a therapist in my own healing journey, just really realizing that my own physical, mental and emotional wellness was the foundation of everything, that if we don't have that we can't do anything else. And so when it comes to business, I think it's just getting past that mindset, belief of it's either a successful business or like I'd have to sacrifice to get that successful business. Does that make sense?

Speaker 1:

It makes total sense because that's what everybody feel. I feel like that is what is commonly talked about. You have to sacrifice, you have to do this and it's like all this old world thinking. But I think, if you're in alignment and I do know that there's that part of the process where it's trusting and I know, I think, doing it in a gradual way versus just throwing something out which in that may work for people though it may, it can, that can work for people too, and I have done that in certain parts.

Speaker 2:

but if you're afraid, my main point with that sorry to interrupt you is if you're afraid to take the leap, that's okay. It's okay you don't have to overcome a block. That's your body telling you that it needs safety and security. So then what's the right next step? So, but yeah.

Speaker 1:

And you could do it. You could do just a little thing, because I think it's just. I think a lot of people think about it and myself included. We dream about where we would like to be and it feels like that is just light years away. I really do believe and I've heard you talk about this and other spiritual leaders just doing small actions, intentional actions, and you talk a lot about being intentional and being mission focused and how that is like.

Speaker 1:

If we live a life I've always been like very attracted to, like servant leadership and all that sort of stuff, and it's always spoke to me and I really want to live a life of service, but you don't have to sacrifice your own well-being to live a life of service for others, and I don't think that's really. It's like a starving artist, right, kind of a mindset. You think people don't think that they can have that balance. What would you say to somebody they were like okay, sarah, I'm thinking about I wanna do, I wanna run a wakey business and I wanna do some intuitive readings and a little bit of teaching? What would you say, just like in a very basic level, what would you give them to do some very basic first steps?

Speaker 2:

So, first off, yay, and one of the big anytime like, even for myself, when I'm trying something on new and it's uncomfortable and scary and it can like throw our mindset off a little bit what I like to do is remind myself that when we're service focused, I connect like you do those light ball things. It's like a ball that has like fiberglass and there's like lights on the end. Do you remember those? Like yes, I do. I think about it like that, like you're in the center and I connect energetically with all of the possible people that I could help in the world. And I remind myself that when I show up in business, I get to help people right, there's more than enough people in this world that we can help, and so the very first thing is to kind of ground into that that, yay, this world needs more spiritual healers and helpers and guides. And even if you're a website developer and you have a spiritual lens, like cool, because we're all needed right. That's why I think Spirit has guided me into the business world more. It's people like why aren't you doing like just like psychic mediumship stuff? And I still do it, but I'm being guided into this right. So whatever way that you're being called to serve, the very first thing would be I think it's really important to know how much you need to make a month to survive, and that is very rare for a spiritual or intuitive business coach to say. You know a lot of intuitive say that the money will come and it will. But the thing is, if you know that you need $5,000 a month to survive or I've had clients that live in the middle of Brooklyn they need $10,000 when it comes down to rent and then having children in Brooklyn is very expensive.

Speaker 2:

So if one thing I learned along the way that I changed or that I wasn't doing right, is I was only thinking about my clients and therapy and sessions, and I wasn't thinking about like, oh wait, how many of these do I need to have to, like, survive and thrive? And that's where I was seeing 40 clients a week, which is exhausting. It was 10 clients, eight to 10 clients, four to five days a week, which is normalized in the therapy world, by the way, which is really unhealthy in my opinion. But I realized that I needed to shift my model so that I could make that money easily, so that I could focus back on clients and that leap right there is really tough for spiritual people Because, like this week alone this week and last week, I've had three new clients say to me, when I ask how much money they want to make and I ask it that way because I know it triggers money mindset, like lovingly, when I'm like, how much money do you want to make, every person says, well, it's not really about the money, I just want to support myself enough and really do my spiritual work full time. And I get it right. But at the same time, again, if your goal is, you know, 5k versus 15k a month or 2k a month, I'm going to recommend a different business model or a different price point for all of it.

Speaker 2:

Sure, that makes complete sense, and so most spiritual entrepreneurs don't do that. And a couple of things happen. One is that they thrive but they create. You probably heard me talk about the Franken business, where it's thriving. You're seeing a lot of clients. It's not aligned with your dream lifestyle. You will burn out or get bitter and or you just won't have enough clients or revenue coming in to keep going long term. So knowing that number is a really great place to start because it allows you to know that you can take care of yourself first, so that you can continue long term.

Speaker 1:

Sure, what advice do you have for people you know as far as, like, getting their name out there and building clientele? Yeah, what is a good strategy for that? I'm sure that does that probably also vary too, depending on what you're selling, or?

Speaker 2:

It does. But I will say you know, a lot of what I talk about with spiritual entrepreneurs is blending together strategy, seeing that strategy can support the intuitive and the skill sets around marketing, and so I'll go there in a second. But also I really do think that law of attraction starts to work sometimes. So when I first decided to be an empath coach and I used to lead the empowered empath support group in St Louis it ended up growing to like 100 people. Not all of us showed up at once, it was usually like eight at a time, which is good for empaths. But I literally was sitting in my counseling office and I was like I would love to be an empath coach and a client called for therapy and he's like I'm an empath, I'm looking for coaching, but I can't find any. Do you know what this is? And I didn't have it anywhere on my marketing and I tracked like two or three other people to my empath coaching before it even being out, before it was even out.

Speaker 2:

So I think it's also remembering that when you're on this path, miracles start to happen, and I had that happen with Reiki. You know I didn't do any marketing and trained. It was 300 to two minutes here in St Louis, and I just all listening to my gut. What I realized, though, was over time work with law of attraction, with that that's such a blessing, and I even had it happen this week with a new offer I have. With, the same thing happens, but what I believe is, if you're doing spiritual work full time to support yourself, that is not always the most reliable and consistent way to grow your business, so that's where I recommend learning some basic skills around how to communicate who you are and what you do, and that's tough for us spiritual entrepreneurs, and there's even. So, with Reiki, for example, or energy work, there's a lot of education. That has to happen right, because the general audience does not know what it is, so that is different for marketing, so I would even just start

Speaker 2:

there. So wherever if it's an Instagram, if it's a Facebook page, it's starting with getting some basic information about what is Reiki, how can it help you, and really focusing on the benefits, the outcome of what Reiki can do, or the benefits of the outcome of what spiritual coaching can do, because people don't necessarily buy Reiki. They buy the relaxation, they buy the healing, they buy the. So for us, for a lot of almost all spiritual helpers and healers, including myself, when I'm writing my own copy, it's we focus when we're trying to explain what we're doing. We explain how we do it instead of what the result is. So, again, the example would be I'm offering Reiki sessions instead of and this it does. It does really vary. So don't take this and go run with it, because it is a whole process for each person. But we have to develop the skill to say here's why Reiki is so helpful, here's what it does for you, here's the transformation, here's what you can expect and it's helping bridge that for people who don't know about it as much.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, 100%. I mean what I mean just because we're talking about Reiki. When I talk, you know, because a lot I don't think a lot of it is very mainstream, yet it's getting there, it's growing the pockets it's growing, it's growing.

Speaker 1:

But when I start to talk to somebody about, and I start to explain about energy and quantum physics and quantum entanglement and you do have to explain it because it's just not something that's really widely talked about or taught and you know, once you get that kind of foundation behind you, I think then people are like okay, there's stuff out there to support it and it's not just one study, like there's a lot of studies, there's a lot of research and books. And you know, I know Albert Einstein tried to disprove quantum entanglement. Yeah, he couldn't. So you know, like it's just very cool. But yeah, I just think that all of us in okay. So I know I'm just kind of jumping all around.

Speaker 2:

No, go for it. I'm here for the organic conversations, living.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so pursuing your spiritual life and living your dream life like everybody thinks? I don't think a lot of people believe it's possible.

Speaker 2:

I know to do that and get a lot of kickback.

Speaker 1:

It's really interesting to me. But I see people doing it you, laura Powers, joanna Hunter, so many people and I just I love all of the things everybody puts out there, because it is so much of what we all do and think about in a day. It's all about intention. It's all about our own thoughts and we are all in control of that. We don't think about how we've talked to ourselves or judge ourselves, or you know, I think I am very hard on myself and I think a lot of people tend to be, and that's something I'm working on. But all that intention, that is such a huge piece of being able to be successful. I think that's actually that. And then balancing your physical, mental and spiritual health yes, that is also important. And once you have that down, I think, and you're in alignment with what your sole path and purpose is, it's kind of like that If you build it, they will come, sort of thing like it does.

Speaker 2:

You know it does.

Speaker 1:

I don't know, I kind of went off on a tangent there.

Speaker 2:

No, it's all in the beauty is. What's so cool about all of this is that the more of us that step into the decision to live our dream lives right it doesn't mean you burn down your whole life now and recreate. It's an approximation. It's gradual process right, everything can. My guides are always reminding me that it's the incremental, it's the gradual, step by step we don't have. You can, at times, take big chain, take quantum leaps or whatnot, but that's not the only way to make success happen. And the more of us that step into the decision that I'm going to prioritize my happiness and my spiritual path and my service, we're creating a new paradigm and a new norm for what's possible. So, then, it's so cool because it's like our success isn't just, isn't just us and the help. It's about the more of us that stand up and become lighthouses for this. It's changing the culture that we're living in.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and the concepts are there right, so if somebody wants to go on a weight loss journey, they don't start and then end in a week or a month.

Speaker 1:

You know it's a gradual process, it's a lifestyle change and it is, it's all the sun. It's like intentional, focused steps, day by day, week by week, and then you have a transformation. You lose how much ever you are in you, or you do the strength training and you build the muscles, or even if you're training for a marathon or triathlon, it is incremental in how you're building your strength, your endurance, your determination, I mean. But that being said, again, it does help to have a good mindset to behind that. I can do this, you know.

Speaker 2:

I feel like the mindset makes it or breaks it.

Speaker 1:

honestly, yes, I think even that, with wellness and the power of the mind, I've known people over the course of my life who are like even okay, you have two years to live, you have this, yeah, and I have known people who have defied those odds. They will survive or surpass well beyond what was medically thought that they could do. But I think in that in those instances and again, this is just purely my opinion yeah, I think that their mindset really does have in their, their will of, their spirit, really has something to do with that and building future that we all want. I love that when you talk on your podcast, because I'll have to go listen to Sarah's podcast because it's awesome you talk about, okay, everybody has to know.

Speaker 1:

Okay, what in this is all part of the setting it up is okay, how many hours do I want to work a week, how it? And that also has to coincide with, okay, how much money do I need to make to survive, and it's like coming up with a balance for that or what your offerings are going to be and all that sort of stuff. Like that's just really important when you're you're just starting out. Well, actually it's important, I think, in the whole process.

Speaker 2:

But yes, and there's a lot of nuance in there and there's a lot of mindset and money mindset that comes up and that's really it gets really I love it. This is why I love it. It's really complex, really quickly, and that's why, really starting with clearly okay, what matters to me most, what kind of lifestyle do I want to have, and making sure that what you're doing fits. And I will say too, I think one piece that comes up here is money mindset and what we charge and how we're pricing. And you know, when we're service focused, there's that immediate like I remember as a therapist, you know and I'm still paying on those loans, right Like it's a lot.

Speaker 2:

It's like it's six years of schooling and then two years of training and I had the mom of a. Her daughter had been suicidal and like got better. So, and like most of my clients are that way, just blending the therapy and the psychic abilities. But she looked at me and she goes so if you're so good at what you do, why do you charge anything for your services? And I wanted to be like I saved your daughter's life. But she's a nurse and I'm kind of cocky sometimes. So I was like, well, if you're so good as a nurse. Why does the hospital pay you? And she kept bringing her daughter back.

Speaker 2:

But I think it's also and every business is different, you know there's then there's so many different ways to structure your business so that it serves you, and I know that probably makes most spiritual entrepreneurs want to like barf hearing that, but like there's a way to set it up that feels so good and juicy so that you can continue to elevate your impact and help other people. And if you start to move into the higher end price points, right. And so remembering that your podcast is service, right, when we show up in workshops, that's service. So the very first thing I focus on after this, like after what I do is I help people create this business blueprint.

Speaker 2:

And one thing that's really important is to make sure that your cash flow positive first, which I know sounds really super businessy and most spiritual entrepreneurs don't like that, but you need to make sure that whatever you're doing first brings in enough money money so that you can survive, and then it's not just about survival, it's about thriving, right. But when you're cash flow positive first, then you actually have the time and the energy to in the money to do the other things that are more of service. So you can write that book, you can create that course, you can do all of these other things because you know that you're taking care of first. And so the cash flow positive is a huge game changer for people, because otherwise I think a lot of people start with, ok, what's the cheapest thing I could offer, and there's a lot of fear about affordability and will people judge me for my pricing. But then you're working your booty off to Only make a couple hundred dollars and that's not sustainable long term.

Speaker 1:

Right, and then I think it's too. It's like stepping out of that fear, judgment and what other people are gonna think, because you can't live your life by what other people's thoughts and opinions are. You have to live your life for yourself and for you. Know what you came here to do and it doesn't it doesn't really matter what I feel like anyone's gonna have an opinion. You know about anything and that's okay. Everyone is entitled to that. But you know you don't have to take it to heart or let it ruin your day or or deter you from what you came here to do.

Speaker 2:

You know, and if they.

Speaker 1:

If they don't understand magic, why would you listen? It's like, consider the source right. If this is a person who, who is not very well, you know, spiritually connected, or somebody who's just very much in the home and drum of the normal yeah, day to day world and they just can't grasp these concepts, that is not the person you should be worrying about what they think. Focus on your dream and keep going, and then you will show them that it's possible, that you can do it, and then they'll say, okay, well, maybe I need to reframe my thought process and and what I was thinking and this, this is doable, this is and it's not. And you should be able to live a life you love, serve others and Be comfortable and do what you want to do travel effects, travel or cook, or, you know, learn or whatever your hobbies are. You know I mean you should, everybody should be able to do All of those things and I love that you talk about this all the time is that you know your dream life really is just one decision away.

Speaker 1:

That we are all just needing to Make that choice and say that, hey, this is what I want, this is what I'm gonna do, and it's having all those positive Thoughts behind it, not to say that there's not gonna be. You know, like I don't know like anything, there's great ebbs and flows, ups and downs, but I feel like I'm not. I don't know if you want to talk about this too, like with you know, everybody's worried about failure, right? Oh, what if I fail? What if? Well, I've heard Joanna Hunter talk about this all time. You have to take failure off the table and just say, okay, you're gonna succeed. If one way doesn't work and this happens all the time, happens in science all the time right, they do an experiment. If did not work, so what do they do? They rethink the process, they deviate, they try something different. Yeah, you do the same thing in your business and I think, right like that's just yeah, and you know it's really fun.

Speaker 2:

I haven't announced this anywhere publicly. Feel free to share this, obviously, whenever I actually have a second podcast that I'm birthing right now and it's called it's grow your business, elevate your impact and so dream life and business podcast is gonna stay, but I wanted to have one that was specifically for spiritual entrepreneurs Like what do you actually do? And the very first podcast episode is about Success is a decision, and it's exactly what Joanna Hunter said of, and I give the example, and I'll do it here of, if you know. So for me it's like okay, I like Joanna Hunter and a lot of the others, my next goal is and I play with it now it's like a video game. For me, I'm like okay, how do I get to seven figures? Yes, without overwork, without sacrificing my heart of service, right when I'm elevating, I make sure that I'm in full integrity with my you know my own intuition, with who I serve, and I've just decided it's happening and that's yeah, that's it right, and so think about it. If you're starting to step into something new and you're in the energy I'd like I know this is gonna work.

Speaker 2:

Now it's just a matter of how is very different from, I think, a lot of people out of fear and, just Honestly, it's get around more entrepreneurs because it gets more normalized of the fear of like, oh, am I gonna fail or not? That goes away because it's like, no, it's only feedback. If something doesn't work, everything you do and that's really. I approach everything with curiosity of when something works right, when I have I've had 30 k days from one post, right, $30,000 in sales from one post it's like, okay, why, what happened there? And that's just me being a nerd. Or if I make another post or I have a launch and it doesn't go the way I want to me, it's like, okay, what's the feedback, what's the data?

Speaker 2:

And there is an interview on the dream life and business podcast from my friend, neha. She's a seven figure entrepreneur. She's very spiritual. I love her because she actually does this too. She's in the seven figures range but still like gets up and goes to the gym, hangs out with her kids, like travel. She's like she's doing it right and she's doing it really well. And she says the data, the feedback of what's working and what's not, allows you to continue to grow. So there is no failure, it's only feedback and that's where it is a really good idea to that's we're having a strategy, having a plan that encompasses or allows you to still be intuitive but supports you in growing. Stay in a stable, predictable way. Yeah, helps like go of that fear too.

Speaker 1:

Yeah and I was gonna ask you this too what do you think about people who actually fear the success more than they fear the failure?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you know, I hear that and Maybe this is work that I haven't done yet, but I'm not afraid of success. I the only thing that keeps me from Seven figures now is the okay how, like the continued process of how do you align to that. I just decided that like the last month or two to like really stepping into that. But now it's just a matter of how and you know it's inevitable. So the timing kind of will happen and there's certain things that need to happen. But I have heard people say that they're afraid of success because of Of what others expect of them.

Speaker 1:

Or maybe they're unsure of the change, do you think? Maybe it's something of the fear of the unknown or the change that comes along with it. You're continuing to evolve and you're becoming a different person. So as you evolve and build your business, I mean you're not the person who you were when you started, because you've evolved and grown as your business has.

Speaker 2:

And I know I'm not the first spiritual or awakened person to say this, but entrepreneurship is its own awakening portal because it brings up all of your inner work to get to each level and there's actually like vibrational I think it's frequency right. When our business is growing, it's like whatever's in our frequency that needs to go, starts to clear out, and it may not seem related to business growth, but it totally is. I think too, it's fear of success. What are your thoughts on that? I'm so curious.

Speaker 1:

Well, I guess maybe there's a little bit of my own internal fear of actually just being out there, being in the energy, and then maybe fear of what will change as I go along the way. And they say, as you grow and you evolve, the people who are meant to stay with you will and those that won't will go away. And maybe for me it's letting go of those people who are not even, you know, just being able to move forward, because I know that not everybody can stay with you on the journey. But maybe that internally for me is just I have that fear of okay, so I say I do this and I am successful. What if I am not? You know what if people don't support it or still don't like it?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I see what you're saying there and it does change. Things do change and evolve. I feel like too and I feel like we talked about this on your episode that we did last week on the Dream Life and Business podcast we have so much power when it comes to communication too. Yes, so to have those conversations and evolve together or recognize that we're not, that that's okay, that I haven't had any like a couple little fallouts, but I haven't had any major like I can't talk with you ever again because of business.

Speaker 1:

Oh, right, right, no, yeah, I mean like anything, you wish people well, right, if they can't, if they can be in your life in a positive way, you know.

Speaker 2:

But you know now that you're bringing up fear of success. I will say that when I finally started to hit five figure months, so consistent 20 to 30 K months, it hit.

Speaker 2:

so we all have an upper limit of what we think we can make Right and that was a new upper limit for me and when I hit it I subconsciously self sabotage and like broke the program down. After that I stopped launching it and this was 2021, into 2022. And I wouldn't even have consciously said I was afraid of success. But there was some money mindset stuff that came up for me of feeling bad because I was making money. Now, the people I was working with it was amazing, right, they, they made amazing.

Speaker 2:

It was my business coaching program that I still run today and I mean people go from like 2k a month to 8k a month. I have a client that in one month had just secured her clients usually stay with her for a year. I think it's like $120,000 in sales in a month, right, helping, that's mind blowing, yeah, right. And so, like these are the stories are like zero to nine K months, right, and that's really. I've just obsessed because I love business and intuition and helping people. I have this obsessive process. I created that I bring people through, but I was starting to reach a new level of success and I just sabotaged it and I have my months here and there and I'm actually rebuilding back to that and going further past that. But so I fear of success. I'm not sure, but I do think that we all have money upper limits and again, for me it was feeling bad that I was making money or, you know, having yeah yeah, maybe it's just like.

Speaker 1:

I think it's like working through those, working through those things. Sometimes, like I know, brad Yates has a lot of videos that you can have on because it's getting rid of. It could be old concepts from different lives, things that you don't even consciously know. That's the reason why, yes, but it's something that you have to heal and release. Yes, and, like you said, maybe it was during that period of time because the world was going crazy. There was Going on.

Speaker 1:

People were losing business. Though when you know, when you were in that space of you know, oh my gosh, my, my business is growing and I'm making you know I'm so abundant Maybe you didn't internally feel bad because other people were suffering. That was, yeah, you know, I think, and that's a valid thing to feel, and I think that other people I've heard Laura talk about this often is that putting yourself into a mindset or a vibration where somebody it because you feel sorry or your, that doesn't actually help the world Right.

Speaker 1:

You know, feeling that it doesn't, feeling bad that somebody's it just doesn't help. So actually yeah, by you elevating, your bringing people up, you know, I mean Laura, everybody, everybody out there. Who is doing that is bringing up and showing that it's possible. And so here it is, Sarah, you've come out and you are a success. And just think about all the people that you've touched. And then the people that you touch it's like a ripple effect are going to go out and touch others and it's like that ripple pool of kindness that is going out there and bringing up the whole planet.

Speaker 1:

I'm so excited about the Sarah we have talked so much about. Also many, so many cool things. Yes, how can people reach out to you? How can they work with you? I'm sure there's going to be people listening who are like I have got to talk to this woman.

Speaker 2:

And, with all disclosure, I am going through an evolution and upgrade right now of my website and stuff is being upgraded. But you can find me on Facebook. I will drop the link below. I always forget my handle. I am on Instagram at align with Sarah Buehner and my website is, for now, aligned with Sarah Buehner, and just reach out. You know one thing that I do that's different is I really do customize what. I have a process for people, but when we're working together for business growth, I customize that process based on your unique needs and your gifts, who you're serving, how you're serving. It's a very it's not a cookie cutter approach at all and it's really fun and exciting. But I also I'm happy to just chat and I really believe in making sure people have the right fit. So if you have a question, reach out, and if I'm not the right person, I'm happy to point you in the right direction and get you to where you need to be to.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's fantastic. So, sarah, what would your closing thoughts be that you want to share with the group today?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, adding on to success is just a decision.

Speaker 2:

It's recognizing that, literally Once you get your handle on some of the basic marketing skills of how do I reach, how do I communicate clearly and powerfully so the right fit people can find me Once you master that skill set, what happens is you develop confidence in being able to bring in cash flow in your business to attract the right clients and again, I know it's not just about the money. But once you have confidence in your ability to magnetize clients consistently, sure, next level is here and it is a skill set and that's something that I didn't realize early on, because I think we're like okay, let me, let me pray on this and, of course, praying and energy work and all of the intuitive practices are so important and developing your confidence and your ability to attract cash flow and then work with it when you sabotage yourself. But that is the number one skill to focus on. I'm happy to help. There's many resources out there, but just know that your success is inevitable and it's probably just a little bit of a skills gap that you can close very easily.

Speaker 1:

Yes, you know, sarah, I loved I listened to one of your podcasts today and you closed it with we vote for the life we want by how we choose to spend our own time, our own money and our own energy, and I just think that is so powerful. So you can't say one thing and do another. It's really truly how are you, what are you doing to move forward in your life? And I feel like I want to ask myself the same question all the time Is this action or is this time I'm spending going to help me move forward? And if the answer is no, then that is not how I should be spending it. You know, having that intention and focus as you move forward and, in fact, like you said, and maybe just doing those incremental steps, building your confidence.

Speaker 2:

And you know, like passion when we're not on it right, because life is life. Right Life can have its true. You're so great.

Speaker 1:

Yes, yes, yes, great yeah, absolutely. And get into the world of other people, because that is 100%. Birds of a feather flock together. Yes, so when you're 100%, that I would tell people. You know my listeners definitely start following Sarah.

Speaker 2:

Laura.

Speaker 1:

Joanna Hunter, and I know you mentioned a few other names too. It did, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 1:

Speaker 2:

Right, right, we can all go hang out and can't tune or something.

Speaker 1:

Yes, yes, that sounds great. Well, thank you so much for being here, sarah I am so honored. Yeah, I'd love to have you back again.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I would love to.

Speaker 1:

You know what? Before we close, I just want to let the audience know you do human design readings.

Speaker 2:

I do.

Speaker 1:

You do astrology, you do a bunch of different things. So when you guys look up Sarah, you have to look at her. You know her service. Yeah, because you have a ton of things that you offer and that's just really wonderful. And maybe one person seeks you out for the human design piece but somebody else really wants the business coaching or the life coaching. Yeah, you know, it's okay to need help. It's okay to yes.

Speaker 2:

And it's okay to design your business in a way that's fun for you Actually, I think that's the key is fun. So all of those sessions I think I'm like a lot of your listeners and you are. We just start to collect different modalities and things over the years and so, yeah, my website has all of it. And then my business coaching program is called Embodied and Paid, and I also have single sessions as well, because I know I'm just here for whatever you guys need.

Speaker 2:

So so yeah, just don't hesitate to reach out, or Well, thank you so much for being here.
