Hello Beautiful Souls! Ever felt the need to shed those accumulated negative energies but didn't know how to start? My dear friend and Usui Reiki Master, Stephanie Martin, and I engaged in a transformative conversation about Reiki, a Japanese energy healing technique. Stephanie, a doula of souls, offers us a glimpse into her personal journey with Reiki, from her first encounter with it to becoming an Usui Reiki Master. She vividly shares how she wields Reiki to guide individuals through life's pivotal moments and to instigate tranquility, emotional unshackling, and a positive mindset.

Among the myriad of healing methods, there's a compelling reason Reiki stands out! Stephanie and I explored how this healing technique contributes to overall health and well-being. From the lens of a Reiki practitioner, we delve into how Reiki has a diverse spectrum of applications: for tune-ups, tackling autoimmune disorders, trauma, prenatal care, and more. We also touched on the fascinating interplay between the body's aura, chakras, and meridian lines with energy.

A child's perception of the world is unique, and understanding their brain wave states is crucial to comprehend their viewpoint. Stephanie and I shared insights into how we can effectively tune in to children, providing them with tools to understand and control their energy. We chatted about how simple actions like pulling in your aura or carrying crystals can aid in energy protection. Moreover, we emphasized the potency of Reiki and other healing modalities to help us grapple with our bodies' energy dynamics. Listen as we stir a whirlwind of wisdom and insights, triggering a new perspective on energy, healing, and our surrounding world.

This is a discussion on holistic healing, nothing discussed is intended to be medical advice. If you are unwell please seek the care of a medical doctor or professional.

Speaker 1:

Welcome, beautiful souls, to this episode of Enlightenment Elevate. Thank you so much for being here. I interview my friend and Usui Reiki master, Stephanie Martin. We discuss all things Reiki. Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique used for stress reduction, relaxation and healing. Rei means universal, ki means life energy. It was rediscovered by a Japanese-born Buddhist monk in the mid-1800s named Dr Mikau Usui. We discuss so many interesting things about energy and we're going to talk about the benefits. Reiki can be used to ease pain, relaxed muscles, increase energy, relieve fatigue. It can relax the body and mind, promote calmness while being encourage emotional release and help to peaceful and positive outlook balance energies. We really delve in deep, enjoy this episode and thank you so much for being here.

Speaker 1:

Welcome to Enlightenment Elevate. I am so excited I have Stephanie Martin here. She's the owner of Ohm Suite, ohm Wellness and School of Reiki and Energetics, and Asui Reiki Master and the Midwife of Souls. I am so excited for her to be here. She is actually my Reiki Master and I asked her to come here to talk all things Reiki. So welcome, stephanie.

Speaker 2:

Hi Kelly, Thank you for having me. I'm so excited to be here and share Reiki with everybody.

Speaker 1:

Yes, tell us a little bit about yourself.

Speaker 2:

I am kind of a jack of all trades of energy and all holistic wellness healing modalities. However, my foundation is definitely in energy, my training is in Reiki and it's something that I have been feeling my entire life. I've always felt energetic poles. As a child I never really could explain those happenings and knowing things and feeling certain emotions. I grew up going to private Catholic school. It was very kind of taboo what I was feeling like. There weren't a lot of answers and there weren't a lot of support and community resources to help me educate and understand and put meaning to what I was feeling. And so throughout my life I have explored a lot of different things. A lot of different health issues led to education the education piece of connecting the physical ailments that I was going through with some of the more energetic meanings to them. And so as I started to go through my life, I actually spirit kind of pushed me into this and I found myself basically in the middle of a cornfield in some ladies basement, learning about what this thing called Reiki was. And it was just a miraculous series of events which I feel like when we're curious and when we set fear aside, we find ourselves in the most amazingly aligned spaces right. Universe kind of just plucks you up out of where you're at and puts you where you need to be and when we come back into body or like holy cow, this is amazing and I understand what my path is in life and it's really opened the door to just very, very many miracles and beautiful happenings. So yeah, that is kind of it. So from there I really aligned with what the energy. You know where the energy was taking me. I learned Reiki. I went along the path, taking various Reiki classes from my teacher and exploring different other avenues of holistic healing modalities.

Speaker 2:

I have expanded. I don't only just do energy. I treat the physical body as well. We do a lot of mental and emotional work. I am involved in various stages of life, transitional spaces.

Speaker 2:

I am a birth doula and hold space for a lot of different people going through a lot of intense experiences and my whole goal with it is to give people education and support and inspiration so that they can overcome whatever is holding them back physically, mentally, emotionally, whatever that is and step really like empower themselves and step into the space of living their own divine truth right, their own mission and why they're here.

Speaker 2:

So I call myself kind of a midwife of souls, because there is some kind of a birthing process to this right, even though I am a birth doula as well. There is a birthing process when you shed, you know and we shed many times, you know, we shed all the time and we expand all the time, but there's a birthing process to this entire awakening per se, and so I'm just a support person there to, you know, hold your hand while you're doing the hard things and the scary things, right, and a little bit of a cheerleader, and yeah, so that's my goal is to just get people to align with their souls so that they can go out and touch other people the way that I've been touched in my life by certain people. So, yeah, that's it.

Speaker 1:

Oh, it's so beautiful, stephanie, and I can resonate so much with what you've said. You have touched and transformed my life in ways that I probably can't even like fully explain to people who are listening. But when I was looking, when all of a sudden Reiki was on my radar because I or radar radar, I'm sorry, radar radar.

Speaker 2:

That's cute, I love that, and I there you go. That's so cute, I love that, and I there you go, and I there you go.

Speaker 1:

And I, there you go, and I, there you go, and I, there you go. I found you and I took your classes and all of a sudden my life definitely changed. And it's so true, you really have. You just really expanded my world, my consciousness, my spirit, my spiritual development. I mean, it's really I feel like when the soul is ready, the teacher appears, and you appeared for me at that time. I mean, I just found you via Google and it was right at the beginning of the pandemic. You had to shut down your healing center and it's just so interesting how you are just led sometimes to where you need to go in the most mysterious ways.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, thank you. I have enjoyed watching you flourish and just being by your side, right, and you've taught me so many amazing things too and you're just flourishing and it's awesome to see that, so I'm glad that I could be a part of your growth process. You know that I'm really humbled and honored that I could be in that.

Speaker 1:

Oh, thank you. Yeah, let's dive into Reiki. So so many people when you tell them you practice Reiki, because I feel like it's becoming more mainstream, but it's not super mainstream yet. How would you describe it? What would you tell someone when they say what is Reiki?

Speaker 2:

Right, yeah, when I first started out, like over 12 years ago, people looked at me and like I had like three heads right and now the general population. We're at a space where people generally have heard of it before, but there can be still a lot of misconceptions about it or fear that revolves around it, and really, when we get into it, we're just working with energy, right. So everything is energy. Everything is energy in life. This has been proven by quantum physicists, right, we dive and delve and swim and swirl in the world of quantum physics when we do Reiki, as well as just when we live our lives in general, in our daily waking lives. So everything is energy. And that energy is, very simply put, the result of the molecules doing a beautiful little dance, right? Imagine that they're cha-ching and during that cha-cha and the tempo and the beat that creates vibrations, right, which can be measured in vibrational frequency. And so absolutely everything in life is vibrational frequency and those vibrations contain information, a lot of detailed information about, like, what we're carrying internally, right, our mental, our emotional and our physical spaces, as well as our external world, and as we go through life, we communicate through these vibrations. We are absolutely all intuitive beings. That is like an animalistic instinct that we have within us, and we all are able to perceive this energy right. And so as we go through life whether it's big things, small things, you know the big traumas, the day-to-day stuff that can affect our internal vibrations, and we can also get inundated and kind of like bogged down by all of the communication around us. And so when we, when our vibrations are off, when we are misaligned, you know, in various different ways we tend to feel out of balance, like maybe we're depressed, maybe we have more anxiety, maybe we're starting to see some more physical issues, or you know what I mean Like we're just don't feel like our best selves.

Speaker 2:

And so one of the main rules here that we follow because this is very science-based is that, number one energy is never created nor destroyed. It only changes form. And so we know that if we're experiencing something that makes us, you know, have a bad day or puts us in a very anxious spot, we just can't shleff it off, right. We just can't kick it on the ground and be like, all right, we're done with you. You know that would be cool if we could, but we just can't.

Speaker 2:

And we also know like we need to do something about that right, it just doesn't go away by itself. So we need to take co-creative action to shift it, to transform the vibration. And we also know from science science tells us that things are constantly kinetic, constantly moving or have the potential to move. So an energetic vibration that is not working for you will continue to move, because if we don't take that co-creative action and shift the vibration or attempt to shift the vibration because sometimes, if we're going through something big, it's an easy fix and other times, when we're going through something big, it takes a lifetime to fix certain things. So if we know that we do have the power, right, we do have the power to bring into conscious awareness what is causing the misalignment or imbalance in our lives, we can name it, we can bring to conscious awareness and then we can start to shift the vibrational frequency of whatever the thing that's bothering us in many different ways.

Speaker 2:

So you could go to therapy, you could take medication, you could go for a run, you could do crafts, you could bard it, and there's a lot of different things. And so Reiki is a modality that basically dives into your energetic system and looks at those specific vibrations, right. So we're kind of we take the place of like the ultimate observer or like a scientist per se and we just listen to the vibrations in the body that are not working for that client or ourselves, and we open space. We hold sacred space, which means we meet our clients where we're at and where they're at and go into more of like a meditative state which accesses the brain waves of like alpha or theta. So we go into a subconscious state and we work to help begin the shift of those vibrations, just by being kind, by being empathetic, and so we're working with the vibrations of the energy and we allow space for that shift.

Speaker 2:

When the vibrations start to shift, we start to feel a little bit better, you know, we start to have a little less brain fog, we start to feel a little bit more clear, we start sleeping better, maybe our physical bodies start feeling better, maybe we don't feel as anxious. And this isn't like a oh, you come and do one reiki session and you're good for the rest of your life, or you know what I mean, it'll cure, you know, all kinds of crazy diseases. It can help, it can assist, right. But what it's really meant to do is get the ball rolling and bring the energetic, the consciousness of the energy, back into the space of not only the spiritual space but the ego space, the human space. And so when we bring the consciousness back to that ego or human space, we're able to take some kind of co-creative action on it.

Speaker 2:

So reiki, in a nutshell, is basically the transformation of vibrations within a person, and we do that in order to work our way back to whole health. And I do want to add too that we are never going to be 100% just humans right, that is not the name of the game in our these skin suits. We are, yes, we are beautiful, divine, energetic beings, but also we are human and we are here to do the human things. We have finite energy systems here within our physical bodies, so we need to be mindful about what situations we're in and what we're consuming. But also, we're never going to be 100%. We're always going to work on stuff. No matter how quote unquote, enlightened or with it you are, or whoop you are, we will always be working on the things. So every single person will constantly be working with these vibrational frequencies in their body until they transition, and so reiki is a way to help you work on that in more of a gentle and consciously aligned way.

Speaker 1:

Yes, that's an excellent explanation. Can you talk about some people if they want to say, well, what are the benefits of it? So you talked about? I mean, I think you talked about. You just talked about some of that.

Speaker 2:

I think there are some examples of like who I see and you know what I mean, like that type of thing. So there's so many benefits of Reiki. Throughout my career I've and we all kind of specialize in different things. Not every Reiki practitioner, any energy practitioner, is the same, right. We all have different strengths, we all have unique experiences that help us zone in on like little niches, right that that are just ours and they speak to our experiences and all that kind of stuff. So there's so many different benefits. It's transformed over the years.

Speaker 2:

The clients that I see but sometimes I have clients come in that just need to tune up. Like you know, you would go to your MD or ND and just be like how is my energy, where am I at, what do I need, you know, bring some awareness. Or and it's nothing that I never I never speak on anything that clients don't know, right, because I am kind of like translating the energy that's already in their system, and so there's a level of awareness with every single client. They already know the things that I'm going to say. It's more like it's a confirmation and a highlight of what they need to do first. So it puts a foundational plan in place so that they can feel confident to take one step in front of the other to start building whole health in a way that feels manageable to them. So sometimes I get clients that are like, oh yeah, I just want to have a tune up per se. You know, a check in and tune up, so I get those clients.

Speaker 2:

Other times I get clients that are dealing with chronic conditions, you know. So there's a lot of autoimmune disorders that I see, just a ton of autoimmune disorders that I see. I have seen cancer. I deal with a lot of traumatic trauma victims, so people that have gone through some pretty intense domestic violence and sexual violence. I'm also a certified domestic and sexual violence volunteer to an advocate. So that is a huge passion of mine.

Speaker 2:

I would say that is probably where I'm focused on right now truly is autoimmune disorders and trauma and the connection between the two, honestly and specifically in women. And then I also do like mamas to be will come in, and so I do a lot of prenatal clients. I work with a lot of babies and so I see, like the gamut right, I see a lot of different clients and it can help with a lot of different things. So it can help support. If someone is getting treated for cancer and they're doing various treatments, they come in to help support those, strengthen their path, whichever way they choose, I help you know, just Reiki helps relieve stress in general. We're all under a great deal of stress, so it helps alleviate stress. Like I said, it helps promote clarity and decrease brain fog, decrease fatigue, this depression, anxiety, like I helped people, bipolar disorder, lots of, lots of different things. So it really runs the gamut on you. Sometimes people even come like I broke my foot or something like you help me feel a little bit better.

Speaker 2:

So it really anything that you're going through spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically. Reiki can help anything and anybody, whether you haven't been born yet and or whether you're also passed over. So, like everybody in between, I see children, I see elderly people, I see women, I see men, I see lots of different people.

Speaker 1:

Talking about. A lot of people are familiar with the physical systems that work in your body. Can you talk about how the energy, the chakras and the meridians in your auric fields, how that all? Can you speak a little bit about that? Yeah?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, sure. So, like I said, we are all energy, right, everything is energy and all of these physical systems are energy, and all of our emotions are energy and all of our thoughts are energy.

Speaker 2:

And so quantum physicists have proven, yes, that we are made of energy and we have first of all and I'm kind of kind of break it down so that we can understand, like a kind of a create a mental picture of how our energy fields look and how they interact, and also but truly understand that this is a very seamless system that is not broken down the way that I am describing. It just all works in just this miraculous way, right, just like the human body works in this miraculous way. So we have an energetic system around us which I call like our outer energetic system, and that is what is commonly known as our aura. And our aura contains many various different levels and layers, and all of those layers correspond to different concepts within our body or things in our body. So there's an emotional layer, there's a mental layer, there's a physical layer, there is astral layer. There's so many different layers. And the outer energy system contains and reflects an individual's inner energy system and where you're at emotionally, mentally and physically. And it also is the first barrier of communication when we're working with our external world, so in the macrocosmic space, and so when we're receiving vibrations and communication, it's our aura that's first catching it right and trying to make sense of it, and through our aura. We bring that down into more of an internal energy system, which are called our chakras. Right, we've all heard of the seven main chakras, but there's actually over 88,000 chakras in our body, and chakras are simply just energy points, important energy points that work with various physical, mental and emotional spaces within our body, and these energy points, or chakras, rotate and vibrate, and each one has their own specific vibration.

Speaker 2:

So then we also have something called our meridian lines, and the meridian lines run horizontally as well as vertically within the body, and I refer to them as like energy highways, so they carry the energy to and from all of the aura, the chakras. They also run to all of our physical systems. So, like our respiratory system, all of our organs, you know circulatory system, meridian lines and the chakras, the energy points deliver to and from, almost like the veins and the arteries in our body, right the energy to all of these different spaces, and so everything in our body is energy. It is not a separate system. So this energetic system is not separate from our physical system you know our respiratory system. It's not separate from our emotions and how we're thinking and feeling. It's not separate to our mental system with our thoughts. So everything is completely connected and, like, our thoughts create a vibration, you know, which gets carried internally in our body and our physical systems feel those vibrations right and react accordingly.

Speaker 2:

And then also we're communicating externally our thoughts in the outside world and in turn, when we have an interaction with somebody, like in a post office, right? So let's say we have like a negative interaction at a post office, we receive that through our aura, brings it down into our chakras, right? The information is carried along our meridian lines and it affects our thoughts, affects our feelings, it affects our physical body. And what we do with that information, that vibration that comes in, is the important part, right, what we do with it.

Speaker 2:

So, are we letting it sit there?

Speaker 2:

Are we letting it when someone's rude to us? Are we letting it kind of ruminate and being resentful or angry about it? Are we moving that through and transforming that energy by speaking up? Are we setting boundaries with that? Are we going home and maybe going for a run to express our foundations or doing some deep breathing or saying some words writing in our journal? Like, what are we doing to kind of move that energetic experience through? Or are we just letting it sit there and letting it rear its head, whatever you know, whatever you choose to do.

Speaker 2:

But so energy affects our human body. It is our body, truly is our body, and the body is an incredibly complex system, very, very complex system, and understanding that, how we deal with the energy externally as well as internally, and how that affects our health, is just so important, it's so critical and it's something that many of us just don't know. We just don't know it. And one of my big things is children. Like I've worked with a lot of children before, I've taught in schools and lots of different things, and being taught this, you know, being taught by as a child would alleviate a lot of the world problems. I will tell you that right now. Thank you.

Speaker 1:

I 100% agree with that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah 100% and kids, I feel, are often very natural and take to it very easily. I noticed with my own children, just with grounding just use that as a quick example that my children ground all the time and they don't know that's what they're doing, but they naturally do it and I find that fascinating. So let's talk about kids and teaching kids and parents. So for parents and people listening who are maybe just beginning to learn this themselves, do you have some tips or recommendations maybe for starting to sort of explain or work with your children?

Speaker 2:

Sure, yeah. So I think the first thing as a parent to realize is that children operate in a different brain wavelength, a different brain state than adults do. So I think that is the very first and honestly key, like a key foundational point to understanding where children are at energetically. So when we are born, we are born in a very delta state, which is delta is the deepest subconscious state. Our brain waves are very slow. We are in a very, very deep kind of like, almost like a deep sleep and as we age we start to become more conscious and into more of like a beta state. But when children are little they're in a theta state, they're in an alpha state, their brain waves are still pretty slow.

Speaker 2:

And imagine if you were just waking up in the morning and you're kind of in that liminal space of you're kind of here, you're kind of still in dream world, your thoughts are all over the place. It's a very instinctual space. It's a very instinctual space. It's a very playful and creative space. We're literally just coming out of dream world. But we're also called to kind of do daily tasks and try and get it together, so to understand that children are in that space all the time and they can't help it. Their brains are just developing. They're not thinking on the same levels as we are. They haven't been influenced by the world around them yet that much. Everything, every place that they're coming from, is just a pure space of spirit. Basically, and again to your point, they just do things that are natural to them because their instincts, their divine instincts, their energetic instincts, and how to function in this human body is so on point. So the kids love nature. That's the one that they love nature. Nature is such a healer. You can ground in nature, you can learn in nature, we can be nourished with all of the medicines and everything in nature. So children naturally do what is good to them. Or let's say they're overwhelmed, they will naturally just lay down in the middle of the floor or they'll find some comfort. A lot of children will do repetitive activities or they'll start to hum to themselves. You know what I mean. So they use vibrations throughout their throat chakra to help calm their body. So they are wired just, and we all are. We all have the ability to get back into that space too and slow our brainwaves down.

Speaker 2:

But the first thing that parents need to understand is that children are on a different wavelength. Literally, their brains are on a different wavelength and they have patience with that process. And because they are on a different wavelength, they are more open to experiencing things that all of us experience in our dream time or sometimes when we are daydreaming. So they are more open to the energy around them, which means the spirit world, different types of animal things, messages and colors or colors, and just a lot of different experiences, so, and a lot of emotions too. Your emotions are much more intense in that space. So to understand what happened when we're in these types of brain states is incredibly important.

Speaker 2:

And so the next point is to listen to your children. Listen to your children when they're saying, like I see purple around that person, that person is glowing purple. Well, what are they talking about? Colors are vibrations. Every single color is a vibration, and so sometimes children, because their brain waves are slower, they perceive color as vibration. So if they're saying, oh, that person's purple, or I saw grandpa last night, ok, you saw grandpa last night, what are you talking about? Grandpa has been dead for 10 years. Well, grandpa's soul has a vibration. And when children are in those little brain wave states, or slower brain wave states they can perceive this information. So if your child is saying I saw somebody's aura or I saw grandpa or something like that, listen to them. Ok, believe them. Children know what they're talking about.

Speaker 2:

My oldest son, when he was little, he had lots of different energies around him, spirit guides around him, and I listened to him. He knew what he was talking about and throughout my experience, as I connected more to my intuition, I was able to validate him and I was like oh, I noticed that too, I saw that too. So he actually led the way to teach me too. So believe your kids, listen to your kids and that will help not only them feel more comfortable to trust you, right, they'll lean into those experiences more and they'll learn their own energy system. But you can also learn your energy system and learn your intuition through your children and then educate your kids just on the basics of energy.

Speaker 2:

We are all energy and so if you're having an anxious feeling, how does that feel in your body and where is that coming from? And it'll help navigate their little lives. This feels good, this does not feel good. It creates more of a safe world and it creates more empowered children, so that they know that we're not just little robots that go through life without listening to ourselves.

Speaker 2:

What makes you happy, what makes your body feel happy, what makes your body and your mind not feel good, what is a good vibration, what is not aligned with you, and what are steps that you can take to support where you're being pulled or called or where you lean into or where you retract from? So I think that just the basic knowledge of energy with children is so important because it creates a foundation that they can trust themselves Really. They can trust themselves, and then they can build a life that is aligned to them by being proactive in this world versus reactive. Things are happening and they're just backpedaling and we're just reacting. We're incredibly reactive beings in this world versus proactive. So, yeah, believe your kids, learn from your kids, trust your kids, understand that they're operating in a different space, a brainwave, than you are, but that can be utilized in order to build solid foundations of alignment and proactiveness as small children into adulthood.

Speaker 1:

I have talked with my kids about trusting their gut instincts, because energy does not lie. So even if somebody on the outside appears very wholesome and friendly, but you are just getting this like day away or you're feeling it in somewhere in your body that this is like not good, so always trust that. It's not being judgmental, it's just you're protecting your boundaries, you're protecting your own energy and you know you have to trust your gut. I think a lot of people get gut feelings and it's always usually your first right, your first react. What that first reaction is is that's your gut reaction and you need to trust it.

Speaker 1:

But I think we as adults often are often dis regarded or question what we know and that's just an intuitive hit. Hey, think about this and I think also teaching kids basic energetic protective principles, just like I talking to them about okay, calling in your spirit team, asking for protection, visualizing yourself in a protective bubble, keeping out things negative and low vibrational I think just simple acts like that and that's could be whatever your spirit team is, whatever you call source creator, god, I mean that is in it and that can work for anybody. It doesn't matter what faith you are or what your belief system is. I think just you can teach your kids that and that hundreds or so they can use that as they go to school and I think even as adults in. But we can't protect our kids from everything. They're going to meet people who hurt the feelings or our mean or do not have good intentions, and that is the same thing for us. We're going to encounter people like that. But if you have some tools, you can work through it.

Speaker 1:

And I think, like knowing that you are worthy, that you are loved, and believing that and knowing that you are inherently abundant and you are born that way, you don't have to prove anything, you don't have to do anything to be worthy. And that's why I have worked with my kids on using emotional freedom technique tapping because you know there's just different things that happen and doing just like, even like doing a quick 10 or 15 minute. My kids love doing it Well, mainly my younger girls. I do it with my girls. I have a 13 year old son who's not super open to the emotional freedom technique, Mom's weird stuff again, right oh 100%.

Speaker 1:

Yes, that is exactly what he says. So he's really not into it, but that's okay. I mean, I honor everyone's journey, everyone's path is different, but just giving them some basic tools. You know, and Brad Yeats has a book called the Wizard's Wish and I read that with my youngest and she absolutely loves it. It's such a it puts it in a very, in very simple, easy terms for it Really, for even for an adult, you are unfamiliar with the practice and what it is. You know, it's just a very and it's a fun way to talk about it. It's what it does and that is also scientifically supported and proven to reduce cortisol levels and how you're reprogramming how your brain thinks and how you go through stuff, how you process something. I mean just just another holistic healing modality that you can incorporate with Reiki. And I know you've also talked about doing Reiki on kids. It doesn't take as long to Reiki a child because they're they're so high vibrational.

Speaker 2:

Yes, yes, their egos aren't as loud, right, like they haven't been as programmed as adults have. So they are again. Their brain waves are already there, they're, they're there. So doing Reiki on children is, I mean, literally. It only takes a couple minutes normally, you know, and the younger they are, the quicker, the quicker things are and the quicker things go. But they come in with information or, you know, misalignments from sometimes past lives or connections or attachments and different things like that. So some babies do, some babies don't. As they get older, you know like the world shapes us and even as babies and toddlers and young children, we all have experiences right, both positive and negative. And so Reiki can help kids all ages, you know, to kind of help get back to center and kind of clear that energy. But children clear it very, very quickly and again, they have natural ways to clear their own energy and they do it all the time, like you had said. But it is good. I loved, you know, your point on giving them tools. So the more that we work to understand what energy is and what's out there and really educate ourselves, we can educate our children too. So, for example, you know, my, one of my daughters had a lot of anxiety in school and just simple breath work, simple pulling in your aura right, rounding your energy down, visualization of almost like flushing the toilet right Of anybody's energy that you've accumulated throughout the day just drains down your physical body, emptying into the roots. You know you can imagine the roots flowing up into your feet. You know connecting you to Mother Earth and just drain that down. That's not yours anymore. You know, let it go. And it's a soothing technique and it sounds so simple. But we know that our thoughts are vibrations and that interacts with our entire system. So our thoughts and feelings are able to shift literally and our physical body is able to shift when we do simple, intentional acts like flushing the negativity down or pulling in your aura, so that you're not just one giant catcher's mitt for everybody else's feelings out there or thoughts out there, but being very intentional with cleansing, with protection, you can even use crystals. You know like my daughter loved to carry a couple crystals in her backpack or in her pocket, especially when she was like in like fourth grade. You know she's having a hard time tuning out everybody's emotions. They were really affecting her and so just cleansing and grounding down. Also, you know well, a couple of my kids used to see like auras and are. You know different types of like orbs and stuff like that in their room at night. And so giving them the tools of like.

Speaker 2:

Right, you have spirit teams around you, you know, you have guides, call on Archangel Michael and if you don't like an energy around you, you tell it to go away, or you ask Archangel Michael to like move it away, or you blow it away. You know what I mean. So really reminding them, because we're not empowering them, they empower themselves, right? So we're reminding, whether it's a child or a client or whatever. Hey, you're not at the mercy of the universe. You do have co-creative power, no matter how bad the situation is, just by what's happening in your mind and through your intention. Right, and we know that sometimes bad things happen to us. You know, like we're human, bad things are going to happen, but we also do have some kind of control on the internal space of our body too and how we process that and how we redistribute that energy and transform it too.

Speaker 1:

Sure, I 100% agree. I mean, bad things do happen. It's going to happen. You know, no matter how spiritual you are, no matter how much breaky you do, things are going to happen and you might have to reset yourself, or maybe you don't react well to something, but then you just you go to your toolbox and you think about it and then you also evaluate okay, why did this happen? What is the lesson for me here? You know, and look at it that way, or it's like that whole thing is not happening to you. It's happening for you so that you can evolve and grow or learn. It's a lesson that you needed to learn to move forward, and sometimes the lessons can be painful. I'm not going to lie.

Speaker 2:

You're awful. I've been through terrible things, so terrible.

Speaker 1:

And so sometimes those lessons are a little painful. You know, I had a really hard time when I went, when I've been going through this, my spiritual awakening, when I was reading like everything is love, everything is love, and so I had to put this one. I was reading this book and I had to put it down a few times because when you are going through things that are very painful and hard, everything does not feel like love in that moment. But later I do understand what that statement means. At least this is my interpretation of it.

Speaker 1:

I think that when you read something in a spiritual book or you hear someone talk that way, that Everything that we experience in our life does actually come from a love space. It can be very challenging, hurtful and traumatic, but it is all something that transforms our life and makes us who we are. You are who you are because of those challenges, because of the things that have happened. That does not mean I also want to put this out, but that does not mean that you have to go through horrible things to evolve. That does not mean that no, no and also and also, too, I want to say that there is true evil out there too.

Speaker 1:

You know what I mean.

Speaker 2:

Like I want to put it out there too, so some experiences that we experience are influenced by that space too, by like kind of that darker, voidish space, and there's a purpose with that to try and squash our lights. And so using that space to not get sucked down right and dim that light and choose to rise above and kind of transform yourself and evolve yourself from that space, is definitely a challenge, but one that creates more experience and wisdom, and then you can connect to the heart center and the heart space with that, because we are here to learn love. We are here to learn how to receive love. We are here to learn how to give love. But there are those spaces that are just nasty, nasty. They don't they're void of love, and I think some of the challenge there is to learn how to get back to love when we go through such awful, awful, awful things that really almost sometimes extinguish our light in a sense.

Speaker 1:

I 100% agree with everything you said and I feel like sometimes those void things that come from those void spaces are those things that are trying to deter us from what we should be focusing on. That's why I think, having gratitude practices and really no matter what is going on around you, there is always something to be grateful for and there is always. I mean, we've all been up and down and through these crazy years here. It's a late in the collective and I feel like even on the worst days, there's always something you can find that's beautiful, just something. Even if you just go out in nature and you see something so pure and so beautiful.

Speaker 1:

In the hardest of times, we are still surrounded by beauty and there's just something to that, and it's like you have to lean into those spaces and not let the other parts overtake you, which is a challenge and it is a struggle, but it does make you who you are, it does make you stronger, and then you just seek out the support that you need, whether that be a therapist or a raking practitioner or a whomever. Whatever holistic healing, sound healing, whatever it is that you need. That's why I think it's important to understand what is available to you and that you are a co-creator and you are part of the journey. So anytime you do go for healing, your higher self is working with that person's higher self and it's a partnership, if you will, right.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think there's a lot to be learned in going back to teaching our children how to intuitively dive in. And what's your gut reaction? How do you feel about that? Like all the things, you take the energy of the situation and how that affects you and you use that Right. So we are not bypassing how we feel and just like whatever. No, we're going to dive into those spaces and we're going to listen to that energy and we're going to allow those to build new foundations, right. And once we start being aware and taking back art, that's reclaiming our energy, right.

Speaker 2:

So this is how it made me feel, this is how I feel, and I'm going to cry about it, I'm going to yell about it, I'm going to set some boundaries, I'm going to tell somebody, I'm going to get support, I'm going to use my tools, but really establishing, like, how that, what that did to your vibration in your body, you know, like the awareness point and then move to transform it. That brings the wisdom, that brings the experience, and using, like you said, those little glimmers, right, like I think I saw that on like Facebook or something. They're like, oh, find the glimmers, which is like, yeah, it's those little things you know like oh, the tree is blowing really beautifully today.

Speaker 2:

You know, like it's diving into the very small details of your life to help motivate you to get back to a space of empowerment and love. Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and we are all supported. We have spirit teams, you know, and we just you have to call in that, that assistance, and even in in just I would say seek out support and surround yourself with loving people who support you, and then do not engage or distance yourself from people who do deplete you, who do drain you energetically. I think that's an important thing to learn and I've started to talk up to my kids about that, about people who we call what energy vampires, or you know, how do you feel when you hang out with a person. If you leave, if you leave a conversation, and you feel good, that is, that's awesome. But there's sometimes and it doesn't mean that a person is necessarily a bad or evil person but they have their own things to work on and it doesn't mean that you have to, you know, be drained every time you're around them. That is not. You're not here for that either.

Speaker 2:

You know that's you know I I mean even speaking to like a personal level with myself. I mean, I've been doing, I've been I would say I haven't sling and energy for a long time, right, but again, we're all human and we all go through things and I find myself, even just recently, like going on a kind of energetic diet again, reviewing my energetic diet. And that's not only what I'm physically consuming, right, like my, the food that I'm eating and what I'm drinking, but that is like what is around me, like what environment? Who am I around? What are the people around me? How do they feel? What are they telling me? How do they respect my energy? And then, internally, what thoughts am I allowing myself to think Like? Am I go you know, my energetically going down the toilet? You know, like, with self-deprecating thoughts? Am I supporting myself in like healthy mental ways? So there's a lot of, there's a lot that goes into that.

Speaker 2:

But I definitely agree, like you know, teaching our children and just ourselves, like being aware of what our energetic diet is is so key to living a truly like aligned life.

Speaker 2:

Right, it helps us avoid some of those tough situations, too right, that we can find ourselves in, but just by being very in tune with what is serving our soul and what is not serving our soul. And if we're, you know, continually finding ourselves in like a relationship, for example, right Like you said where you're just feeling drained or your boundaries are consistently crossed and your energy is not being respected, and knowing that, because sometimes we're not aware of it, and until we truly dive into how that energy is making us feel on many different levels, then taking action or co-creative action to shift that vibration by saying like no, or pulling out of that you know relationship, or not hanging out with that friend, or changing that job, or, you know, like, moving to get to a different area, something like that that'll help you grow in a positive way versus keep you stuck. And it's again, it's like a situation that squashes your light, you know, and we're just not here for that.

Speaker 1:

No, and I will say, I think learning about Reiki and I think Reiki and that has really opened my eyes to the world of what energy is, how we can transform it, how we can protect ourselves it has that has been so transformational for my life. That's why I anybody listening, if you are curious about learning Reiki, I highly encourage you to seek out a teacher that you align with and really learn it, because Reiki is such a beautiful foundation for understanding energy, how it works in your body, and also the power of your body and the power of your ability to heal yourself and how you can. We are all so much more powerful than we really realize, yeah, and so I just really encourage people to learn everything they can about Reiki or whatever energy. I mean really whatever spiritual or healing modality that speaks to them. I mean, definitely, if it's not Reiki, that's okay. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Reiki is just a flavor of the energy world right, yes.

Speaker 2:

A beautiful one, yeah, a very beautiful one. Like I am a practitioner of, like, quantum shiatsu. I do a lot of different, you know what I mean. Like I am a massage therapist, I do a lot of things in the quantum field and different types of energetic techniques, but Reiki is my foundation. Right, reiki is my like tried and true. But there's so many like EFT, you know, emotional freedom, tapping, like there's so many things that can help you like as far as that space. So if it's not Reiki, there's something else out there that can help you Absolutely. Yes, mm, hmm.

Speaker 1:

Absolutely Well, stephanie, I want to be mindful of your time and I want to thank you so much for being here. Do you have closing thoughts or anything you would like, any advice or anything you'd like to leave the listeners with today?

Speaker 2:

Hmm, I feel honestly that I think my number one biggest piece of advice is you are your own best advocate. Right and through the practice of Reiki we really learn our internal landscape, our energetic landscape and how what energy is and how it benefits us and how we can navigate this world and in the line space.

Speaker 2:

And if you, you know, don't know that you know, understand what your energy is doing, it's just, it's almost kind of like a work smart, smart, not hard button you know what I mean Like understanding energy gives you kind of a leg up going through life, and so you are your own best advocate and definitely, like we said, if it's not Reiki, just get educated on your energetic system and how you can use that to align your life and live your best life in a very, very empowered way.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that is, that is beautiful. Thank you. How can people get in touch with you if they are interested, because Stephanie does for anyone who is not in Illinois. Stephanie does distance questions, thank you, but if you are in the Fox Valley area and you want to see Stephanie, how can they people get in touch with you?

Speaker 2:

You can visit my website, which is wwwOmOmSweetSWETOMcom. That is the best way to get in touch with me. I'm also on Facebook Facebookcom, slash myOmSweetOm. Those are the two ways that best you can get in touch with me. But yes, I do facilitate in person sessions. I teach Reiki one, two, three and master teacher class. I teach a wide variety of workshops. I also do distance sessions, so I have clients all over the US and we facilitate healing and intuitive sessions too. So if you're looking for a little advice or guidance or peer into your life, I can definitely assist you with that.

Speaker 1:

Oh, yes, you absolutely can. I can speak to that. Stephanie is amazing. We've had many breakthroughs in the Ome home, yes, and I wanted to say I just think the name of your business is so cute Ome, sweet Ome.

Speaker 2:

Is that not just so?
