We felt like we were being watched. And I remember looking at her and I was like, Do you feel like somebody's watching us? And she was like, I thought it was just me. And we turn around. And when we turn around, we look at the back of the farmhouse. And the back door is wide open. Up in the window, we could clearly see a man. And we got so scared, we ran back to the house. Once again, get my great-grandfather who's in the garage. And I'm like, Somebody's in that house. The door is open. There's a man in there. And he was just looking at us out the window.

Podcast. Every mile of this road holds a story. Some are whispered, some screamed, and some never meant to be told at all. From haunted back roads to whispered legends, no case is too dark, and no question too dangerous. Welcome, traveler. The road is waiting.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you for joining the show, Angela.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you guys for having me. I'm super excited.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I came across your videos like haunted nursing home. I'm like, okay. We've been doing this for almost four years now, and we've been trying to get someone that works like in the medical field. I have a couple of friends that are nurse practitioners, but they've never really told any type of stories. If they do have any, they've they've been holding it uh from us. But I'm super excited to uh talk to you today about some of the experiences you had. And little did we know, we've only been talking for about 35 minutes prior to recording that you were actually in the indie circuit for wrestling, and we talked about the business for like a good 35 minutes, which was absolutely fascinating.

SPEAKER_01

Well, lucky for you guys, I'm an open book, so feel free to like rattle off questions and we'll get our combo started because as a nurse, I have seen both the beginning of life and the end of life. And I feel like when you have that experience, it changes your perspective on things. And I mean, not even just in nursing, like I personally have kind of tales and things. I feel like I've always been a bit of a magnet for spiritual activity. And it's pretty crazy because I don't want to say that I was like a diehard believer, but like as a kid, I loved like watching like the ghost hunter shows and stuff like that because it's always really intrigued me. Um, but like when I got into nursing and kind of got to have some experiences of my own, it really like amplified that interest. And I feel like for years I just have had all these stories and I've told them to family and friends, and I've had conversations about it. So I started my TikTok page after, you know, just kind of unloading one night and I'm like, hey, like I've got all these stories, and we start talking about it, and somebody's like, you need to get on TikTok and tell these because people will eat this up. So I just kind of on a whim one day I was on my way to work and I'm like, I'm bored, nobody's answering the phone for me to talk to them. Let me just like see how I do like telling a story. And I did, and I posted it, and it kind of blew up a lot faster than what I thought. Like, and to me, like to have hundreds of like views and like five comments on a video within like an hour kind of like threw me. I was like, wow, this is crazy. People like this, and people were wanting more. So I've kind of just tried to keep up with it. I'm very busy, so I feel like I don't keep up with putting out new content as often as what I I wish that I could, but every time I do, it's like the video just gets a lot of traction. So I'm loving it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, definitely. Um, I think when it comes to like the medical field, that's kind of like I don't want to say like a taboo area because it's very protected, you know, with laws and HIPAA and everything like that. Yeah, so you have to be really careful with what you share and who you talk about, and not naming facilities or anything like that. Because like as we alluded to early before we recorded, you know, some people get dinged and their careers get affected. So that's definitely what we're not trying to do that here.

SPEAKER_01

And that's definitely like always at the back of my mind. So that's why when I talk about my stories at this particular facility, um, it's not the only facility that I've had experiences, but in my opinion, it is the most active place that I've ever been. Even not just like working there, but just in general. Um, and there's a lot of history behind that. So it's it's kind of tough because I know locally, if I were to drop too much information, people around my area would know exactly what I'm talking about. Thankfully, I haven't run into like too many folks that know as much of the history on that particular building as I do. So I've got those little snippets of information that I can share that people generally just don't know. I do have like a piece of history that I really, really, really want to get into on the podcast or on my TikTok page, but like it's tough because it's one of those stories that it's it's a sensitive topic. Um and telling it, I I want to be able to do that story justice in general. So um, and it has a lot to do, I think, with the energy surrounding that building. Um, so and I I'll like I'll dabble in that a little bit um later on in conversation. But if you guys have like any specific questions or like where you want me to start, like throw it out there.

SPEAKER_04

I'm a big proponent of saying, like, you know, we all have this one experience that is kind of like the gateway drug to the paranormal for me at age five. It was seeing like, I'm not sure if you're familiar with the term dwend days, it's like the Hispanic, like they're like little dwarf imp type of creatures. That was for me. You mentioned that you didn't only encounter the paranormal when you got into the nursing field. There were quite a few things that happened a little earlier to you. So you mind going back to the beginning and what was kind of like your entry into this? It's like, wait, this is not normal.

SPEAKER_01

For sure. Um, so ironically, the house that I live in now um belonged to my great-grandparents, so it's been in my family since the 1950s. I spent majority of my childhood in this house. My my great-grandparents babysat me as a kid. I was here almost daily, and I was here like every weekend. Um, so I can actually remember like this so vividly. And it's the very first thing that I ever experienced, and I feel like it's always gonna stick with me. So in the backyard, I was like being a kid, I was out there like kicking a ball around, you know, just doing whatever. And the backyard, it's like a flat area, and then there's like three little humps on a hill that go up. There's woods out back, and then directly behind our house is an old farmhouse, right along the property line. There is like an outhouse, and there's this little tree that sits like on that middle hump on the hill. And it was like evening, so the sun was going down, kind of facing that hill. And I just remember at one point I looked up and right where that tree was, I saw I'm not even kidding you, like I saw the silhouette, like a shadow of what looked like a swing and a child sitting on the swing. There has never been a swing on that tree for as long as I can remember. Um, and it it like freaked me out a little bit as a kid. And I was like, oh my God, like what the heck is that? I like hightailed it out of there so fast and went and grabbed my grandfather and or my great grandfather, and he was like, um, he's like, What's wrong with you, girl? Like, what's going on? And I was like, There, there was something back there, like by the tree. And he's like, calm down. And he walked back there with me. And when we walked back there, it was gone. And they were like, There's not a swing there. You're seeing things. Did you drink enough water today? Like, have you been out in the heat too long? Um, so I I remember that super vividly. And then the next experience that I had also surrounded that farmhouse out back, where one of my cousins was here with me. And there's a big horse farm behind our house. Um, there's like a mansion, like way out there. So it's our house, the um the the far the old farmhouse that belonged to an old married couple that were friends with my great-grandparents years ago, but they've both since passed on. And there's the big mansion up on the hill. So it was crazy because that house had been vacant for so many years since Mr. and Mrs. Stevens passed away. And Mr. Stevens passed away long before the wife did. I remember her when I was little because we used to go sit up there and she would like give us candy or ice pops or whatever when I was a kid. And then after she passed, nobody ever moved into that house. The people who bought the entire farm property built the mansion, and they basically just used the farmhouse for like tax supply for their horses. And um, they went on vacation and they would actually pay me like a hundred bucks to the week. And you know, as a 10, 10, 11-year-old kid, 100 bucks is like a million. Um, so they would pay me to go up in the evenings and water their flowers, feed their chickens, and just, you know, make sure that everything was okay. Um, so my cousin was there with me, and her and I were going up to do that. And we decided to cut up through like our backyard and the back, like behind that house, and then walk through like this little clearing where there was like kind of thicker trees, not exactly woods, but like it it gave you the capability to do that and not have to walk up a super like big incline on the driveway to get to the mansion. And it's August, it's 95 degrees out, we're sweating bullets walking up here, and we get to the back of that house. Mind you, that house is always locked, the doors are never open. Um, and we walk back there, and all of a sudden we get like a rush of cold air, and we felt like we were being watched. And I remember looking at her, and I was like, Do you feel like somebody's watching us? And she was like, Yeah, I thought it was just me. And we turn around, and when we turn around, we look at the back of the farmhouse, and the back door is wide open. Up in the window, we could clearly see a man. I can describe this man in detail. He had on glasses, he was wearing like a fedora, and he was wearing like a plaid like suit jacket. And we got so scared, we ran back to the house once again get my great-grandfather who's in the garage. And I'm like, somebody's in that house. The door is open, there's a man in there, and he was just looking at us out the window. So he comes running up, and by the time that we get up there, the door is closed, the door is locked, and there's nobody there. So, um about three or four months later, I would say, my great-grandmother was digging out pictures, and she found a picture of my great-grandfather and Mr. Stevens sitting out back. And as we're like looking through these pictures, I see the picture, and I'm like, that's the man that I saw in that house. And that's when they told me that it was Mr. Stevens and he had died like 20 years prior. So that's what did it for me. Um, it was both horrifying but also intriguing. And I think that really like kind of set that that feeling of like there's something else out there, there's some sort of energy when people are gone. And if I was able to identify a man that I had never seen a photo of, um, never met before in my life, but when I see this picture of him after this experience and I can tell you that that's the man that I saw, I mean, you you can't really deny that it was it was intense for sure.

SPEAKER_02

How long would you say it took from the moment that you kind of had this coming to moment of understanding or think or believing there's more to what we're seeing in this reality between like that moment and then when you got older? Was there like a because a lot of times we talk to people who have these gaps, right? I think there was one person we talked to where that all this crazy stuff happened when they were younger, similar to what you went through, and then there was a long stretch, and then it kind of came back to them in memories. And is it something you held on to for pretty much your entire life all the way up until uh like from your current profession? Okay, cool. Like, so what was what like how did you I just kind of want to talk like the the the um uh psychological aspect of like did you embrace it? What did you did it really scare you freaking out? Like did it kind of like draw you into it? I think more curious.

SPEAKER_01

I think being a kid, it definitely like scared me um initially, right? Because you know, when you think about it, like as a child, anytime that you see like a stranger and like you feel like somebody is looking at you, you kind of get like that eerie feeling, right? So like it definitely scared me. And I can actually remember being scared at one point that like I didn't want to go in the backyard and I didn't want to look at that house because I was so afraid that and at the time like my thought wasn't like there's a ghost in that house. My thought was there's a stranger that is like in that house and they're watching me, and it kind of you know gave me that like stranger danger vibe. So that really freaked me out. Um, and I was mate, like I said, maybe 10, 11 years old. Um, and my little so my little brother and I were 10 and a half years apart. And um, like after he was born, my parents um like they, I mean, they have their house and they had bought their house in like 2000. My little brother was born in 2004. So I can actually, and this is like this is again super crazy. My poor brother had this experience and like he doesn't even like talking about it anymore. But I never I've never had a bad feeling in my parents' house. Um, I've never had any type of real experience in there. But when my little brother was a baby, he again, this is like he's one, two years old. So this is only a couple of years, you know, after my experience over here seeing this. My little brother would actually point into our um dining room at my parents' house. And like we couldn't figure out what it was. We stare into the corner and he actually, as he was able to start talking, started saying Fit. And we're like, Fit, what is Fit? So when he was finally able to kind of develop like his own speech, he started telling us that Fip is a man. And we started saying, Well, what do you mean he's a man? What does he look like? And he'd be like, He's old. And he would tell us that he looks like this, like his face was wrinkled. Um, and he experienced that probably from the time that he was like a year and a half to like four or five, and then never experienced it again. And he's almost 22 years old, still lives in my parents' house. And we have a little sister who is 14. She never experienced that, but we found out that there's a connection. And when we talked about it, um, the old couple that lived in my parents' house, the husband, his like nickname for when he was like shooting darts on league, they called him Fitz. So we're like, oh my gosh, original owner passed away in the house for whatever reason, like he chose to show himself to my little brother. Um, and again, I didn't have that experience, but like my brother did. So I remember kind of thinking back when my little brother was talking about this, like my own experience after I made the connection when I saw the picture of this man. That was an encounter that I had, not a stranger in a house looking at me. So I eventually wasn't as freaked out by it. And it definitely intrigued me. It made me interested. And that's where I started watching, you know, the a haunting on Discovery Channel and Ghost Hunters. And um, I started kind of like reading into it and like going online and and stuff and kind of like hearing as much as I could and absorbing as much information regarding paranormal activity because it it just kind of always connected back to my own experience as a kid. And it was many years before I experienced anything else. And the, you know, next experience that I had, I remember I was in high school and I was visiting a friend. Um, we were sleeping over at her house. Her parents weren't home, they lived in the middle of nowhere. This is like back when people still had house phones and like you couldn't just get cell service anywhere. So, like our cell phones didn't work at her house. Um, she had the house phone, and like I actually remember we called and asked my parents to come and pick us up from her house on the landline um to come pick us up because we both had an experience at her house and she was always freaked out in our house. Like she said that you know, she she used to see things, hear things, whatever. And we heard a woman screaming from her attic. And we called and asked my parents to come and pick us up at like 11:30 at night because we were petrified.

SPEAKER_04

Um, and did you guys go look? Did she ever check it out?

SPEAKER_01

No, we were um mostly because I think at that point, like she was like way too scared to go up there. Like she never would not go in the attic in her house. And I'm like, I'm not going up by myself. Like, I can't take a cell phone up and call somebody if I need something, you know? So like we we called my dad and like he came and picked both of us up and we called her mom and we were like, hey, um, we're not staying here tonight. Like, you guys can, you know, pick her up at my house or whatever. Um, but like we never went and looked. And she had said like she had many experiences in that house, but it was only ever when she was home alone. When her parents were home, they never had experiences. You know, they didn't, and it wasn't like like lights flickering. It was, it was mostly like a door would open and there'd be nobody there. Um, the bathroom sink would start running. Um, you know, again, like you would hear this like disembodied voice or like a scream happening. So again, I'm like, hey, like I think your house is haunted, dude. Like, I don't know what to tell you, but I've experienced things before too, and I'm pretty sure your house is haunted. And I tried to like get her into like watching some of the shows and reading into some of the things, and she like I actually saw her a couple years ago, and she was like, Yeah, dude, like to this day, I won't go in my parents' attic because I don't know what the hell's up there, but that like has stuck with me my entire life. So I think you know, these experiences do stick with you as a person.

SPEAKER_04

Sure, absolutely, especially if they're terrifying. You don't really remember something like, Oh, that's a nice smell, smells like roses or something like that, right? But like a disembodied voice calling your name, which I've dealt with, and like door slamming and shit like that. It's it's one of those things that like it scares the crap out of you, and it sounds like in your friend's house, like with the parents not experiencing anything, whatever this was was intelligent enough to target children.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yeah, absolutely. And I feel like at like our ages, like we were middle school aged at this point, so like 13, 14. And I feel like that's like an age, a good age at least, where like you're really susceptible to things because you're you're like figuring out life, you know, like you're kind of developing who you are as a person. And I feel like that's when you start to experience like different emotions and different feelings and such. So I feel like that's a time where all of your emotions, whether it be fear, whether it be happiness, whether it be anger, like it's all super heightened, right? Because your bodies are going through so much. And it kind of just like makes me wonder like, was whatever was in that house like screwing with her because of the reaction that it knew it was gaining, you know, like freaky, very freaky when you think about it.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, if I had to take a guess, I I would say yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Like because it it fed off of the fear that she had.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I I can remember like many, many times she would like beg to come to my house if she knew she was gonna be there alone because she did not want to be alone at that house. And I'll be honest, I didn't want to be alone in that house with her. Um and it it was it was a very old house. Um, you know, and like they didn't know the history behind it. And I've always been curious about that. I think at one point, like her and I did try to like look it up um online, but back then, like being, you know, 13, 14, like you don't really know how to look up like property records and find out if like people died in the house.

SPEAKER_03

Right, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, so you know, you just try to like Google the address and see what you come up with. Um but you know, that was again like a pivotal time, and that's probably when I was like the most interested in like the paranormal and trying to learn a lot more was because I think I started to understand in my early teen years that what I had experienced, you know, years before with the farmhouse back here, that like that was that was something that was an encounter of some sort. There was some sort of an energy there. Um, something chose to to make itself known to me that day. Um, and and it was. Was it was a very like pivotal time. Like it was that time where I was probably the most looking forward to finding things out. Um, you know, and I've also I've had like experiences where my loved ones who have passed have like come to me in like a dream. Um and and I feel like you know, those are very special visits that I always hold very near and dear. Um I actually had the exact same dream the day that I got home from the hospital after having both of my children, where I saw my great-grandmother. And with my with my daughter, I got home. She was a baby, she was in the bassinet. I had laid her down to sleep, I went to bed, and I had this dream. And in this dream, I had woken up. I sit up in the bed and I glance over towards the bassinet, and I saw my great-grandmother. And she looked at me, she had her hand on the baby, and she like motioned to me to lay back down and be quiet. And in the dream, I went to sleep, and then I wake up and I'm like, oh my God, like I just like did that happen, you know? Um, and it was so vivid and so real. And at first I was like, you know, just that was her showing me that, like, you know, she's here, she's watching over my daughter. And um, I had forgotten about it until I had my son. And when I had my son, same thing. Um, we were living in this house at the time, and I went to bed, put the baby in the bassinet, um, go to sleep. And in the same same context, I wake up, I look over, she's at the bassinet with her hand on my son, tells me to be quiet, motions for me to lay back down. And I actually tried to speak to her in the dream, but that was the point that I woke up and I look over and there's nobody there. The house is quiet, my son is asleep, everything's fine. Um, you know, so whether that's just my own mind telling me something, I don't know, but I I I would like to believe that that was the spirit of my great-grandmother, letting me know that she is watching over my children the same way that she watched over myself and my brother when we were babies, you know? Um, and I I think that's like the beautiful side to the paranormal encounters that I've had. Um, you know, and I've I've dealt with over the years a lot of people passing. Um, I see it a lot more frequently than what I would like to admit being a nurse. Um, but you know, you kind of see things and you develop relationships even with like residents in the nursing homes that I've worked at, to where you kind of can almost pinpoint who it is when these encounters happen because you know certain things about those people. Um and when I started working at the nursing facility that I talk about on my TikTok, um, I didn't go there for any specific reason. I went there because I was broke and I was going through nursing school and I needed a job as a caregiver somewhere that would allow me to work overnights full time and go to school full time and take care of my kids, you know. Um and I started working there. I knew it was an old building. Um, I knew it'd been around for years. I knew that it used to be an old hospital, um, because it's local. Everybody knows that. But um when I started working there, I had several people that were like, oh, like things go bump in the night around here, you know, yada yada. And I'm like, okay, um, that's that's cool. Like I'm not scared, um, because I had had experiences, you know. So I'm like, it's I mean, things happen. But I didn't realize the level and the extent of the activity in that building until I started to experience things there, which I mean, some of it will like literally blow you away. And if you've watched some of my videos, like you've probably heard some of those stories.

SPEAKER_04

Unless you have anything additional you would want to share from your formative years about experiences, we could jump right into when you started working there and what did you start noticing right off the bat, or was it kind of like you know, it kind of just gained traction over time?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, oh, it definitely gained traction over time. Like I feel like, and and I don't know if it's just the nature of the building and the activity there, but I feel like it kind of slowly started to like show me that there are things there. Um, you know, I worked several shifts, never had an experience to the point that I'm like, oh, maybe people are just freaked out because it's night shift, right? Like it's always spooky at night. Everything is spookier at nighttime. It it was a little bit before I started to experience things. I mean, we would have like the occasional, like you would hear something. Um, you would think that you hear somebody saying, like calling for help, and then you would go check and everybody's fine. Um, and you know, at that point, like initially, like you would chalk it up to like somebody has their TV turned up really loud in their room, you know, and like you just heard something. Um, we would hear what sounded like doors opening and closing, and we would kind of like chalk that up that oh, it's just somebody else, you know, like somebody else is over here. They got into a closet because they needed to grab something and they went back upstairs or they went downstairs. Um, but it really did start to pick up, I would say, like after I'd been there for about like four or five months. And that's where I started to have more notable experiences. The the things that freaked me out the most, and it was very rare that I was actually scared in there, but I did have a select few things that that weirded me out. Um, and the one thing that that really freaks me out, I think the most, believe it or not, even though it's not the scariest story, but just as a person, something that has has always scared me is any type of paranormal encounter that involves like a child spirit. But that's also because I know the widespread belief amongst the paranormal community that it's not necessarily a child spirit that you're encountering, it could be something else, right? Um, so our uh second floor was formerly as the hospital, it it was like the pediatric and maternity wing at one point. Like we would hear babies crying, and there's no babies in the building because it's literally a nursing home. I actually was up there one night by myself, which a lot of times I it was usually two people on each unit, but I was there by myself. We happened to be short staffed, and I was sitting at the nursing station. Where the nursing station was, there were two hallways that ran back on either side. And a little ways back, um, we actually had the fire doors. So the fire doors are like attached to magnets and it's connected to the alarm system where the magnets will release if the fire alarm um goes off in the building. And it helps to protect from you know, like fire spreading, smoke from spreading, things like that. So those doors were like very, very hard to get them off the magnets. Like it took a lot of physical strength if you wanted to like pull that door shut at any given time without that alarm going off and the automatic release. And I was sitting there, had to be like somewhere between like midnight and 2 a.m. And I'm minding my business. There's no other way for anybody to like get up there, like unless it was a resident that came from one of those back hallways, which there's no way it physically could have been. Um, like I'm all of a sudden sitting there and I hear doors slam over to my right. So I'm like, what the hell? I get up and I go over and those fire doors are shut. So I'm like, that's weird. Okay. I open the doors, attach them back to the magnets, and like I even try to like pull them off just to see if like, is the magnet faulty? Is something going on? It's an old building, you know, you never know. And I mean, it it took a lot of force for me to release that from the magnet. So I put it back, I go back to the seat where I was sitting, I sit down. As soon as my ass hit the freaking chair, slam over on the other side. So I get up, I go over to the other side, exact same thing. I'm like, what the hell is going on? So I'm like, okay, maybe it's the security guard because he was known for like playing pranks on us and stuff, like if we weren't paying attention. But I know that I did not see him come onto the unit and the way that the unit is designed, I would not have been able to be sitting in that seat and not have seen him come up there. So I'm like kind of like psyching myself out here. I'm like, it's gotta be him, it's gotta be him. And I'm like, all right, so I just kind of sit and I wait, and I'm like, I'm gonna watch because I know he's gonna come out like laughing, snickering, making fun of me because he got me, right? And I waited, had to be 20 minutes to a half an hour. And all of a sudden he comes walking onto the unit from like where you get off of the elevators. And I'm like, where were you? He's like, I I've been downstairs. I just came from third floor. Why? And I'm like, You haven't been up here? He's like, No, not since my last rounds at like 11. Why? And I'm like, Because these doors over here slammed. I went and checked. I don't have any residents awake. Like the residents couldn't pull those doors off if they tried. They're all old and frail. Like, it's not happening. And then as soon as I fixed it, I sat down and the exact same thing happened on the other side. And he laughs and he's like, they're playing with you. And I'm like, what? And he's like, they're playing with you, Angela. And I'm like, who? And he just laughed and walked away. And it wasn't long after that that I had uh a lady who was um on hospice, and you know, she had not been out of bed in weeks. Um she was like super, super fragile, um, not steady on her feet, and she was always fine. Like I would check on her, um, everything was great. Well, one night I'm sitting there and she scared the absolute bejesus out of me, mind you, because like I said, this I had not seen this woman walk in a really long time. And I hear like movement off to my side, and I look over and she's coming out of her room and walking towards me. She's like, honey, I need you, you gotta come and get these kids. Somebody has to get these kids, they won't leave me alone. I'm trying to sleep. And I'm like, Okay, sweetie, like, what's going on? And I'm like, maybe she's hallucinating, right? So I go into her room, there's no kids in there. So she was very adamant that there were kids in there and they were playing and they were waking her up and wouldn't let her sleep. So I just like loudly said, Hey kids, you need to leave this lady alone. She doesn't feel well, she's very tired. It's time for her to rest. I need you guys to leave her alone. And she went back and she went to sleep. The next time I came back to work, she had passed away.

SPEAKER_04

I knew where this was going. Once you said, like she was bedridden and then she got up. I'm like, oh, it's that last the last hurrah. Yeah, the yeah, the surge.

SPEAKER_01

That I've I've seen that so often. Um, you know, hospice patients, I think, because they're so close to the other side, um, you know, the veil is so thin, they just they're so much more susceptible. You know, you hear stories all the time of them talking about their loved ones, you know, husbands talking about seeing their wife that has been gone for multiple years. Um, you know, people seeing their siblings and things. And um, yeah, I actually I had um I had another resident on a different floor, and I was very, very close to this woman. Like I adored her. It broke my heart when she passed away. Um and her brother and his wife actually lived in the independent living apartments all the way up on our fourth floor. And um her brother had gone out to the hospital, um, had a pretty significant decline in his health. And when he returned, he required much more care. So they moved him down to our first floor. And um, the wife stayed up in independent living. And I think that was a great thing, you know. Like we had the capability in that building where, yeah, they had to be separated because his care needs were super intense, but at the same time, like they didn't have to be in two different facilities, like you do often see in a lot of places. Um, so he was down on the first floor, and ironically, they moved him into his sister's old room. And I'm like, that's a little uh a little eerie, a little odd. Like, are we you mean to tell me this is really the only room that we could plop him into down here out of all the vacant rooms? But okay, I don't know, maybe it was a family request, right? And um, he was he was stable, like on hospice um for for quite a while, but um he definitely was like starting to slow down in a lot of ways. And I very vividly remember like when his hallucinations started, and he was actually up and out all night long all the time because apparently he worked night shift for like 40 years. So it wasn't abnormal for him to be up at night. So I kind of got into the routine with him where like he would come out, he would sit and hang out with me. Um, we had like a little diner that was open 24-7. So I used to order like food and I would like order kids' chicken fingers, and I had a couple residents that were like my regular, so I'd like to split like a kid's meal up between them, you know, just to keep them happy with me overnight. And um, he was sitting out there one night and we had a bunch of chairs like lined up, like right near the nurse's station. And he's sitting there and he all of a sudden he like turns to a side and he's having a conversation. And like he's naming his sister, like he's like as if she's sitting right there next to him and he's having a full-blown conversation with her. And oh, I'm so glad you came to see me, you know. Uh well, when are you coming back? What took you so long, right? And in my head, I'm like, oh my God, like he's he's gonna go soon. Like I just I knew I just had that feeling because of what I experienced upstairs. And um it wasn't long, like within days, that he started to rapidly decline. And um, I was very lucky to have had the opportunity to care for him um throughout his entire transitional process. Um, and I was actually scheduled to be off for four days. So I went to work. We thought that it was like three days, and we're like, oh my gosh, it's any time, it's any time, it's any time. And um he ended up uh he was super, super comfortable. And the family was like, the entire family was in the room. And if you know anything about hospice and people who are in that actively dying state, um, you know, they say what's taking so long is either they have unfinished business, they're waiting for a particular person to come visit them, or they feel like they need to stay around to entertain. So I actually convinced the family. Um, at one point, I'm like, hey, like I know you guys are tired. Um, you know, I want to get him like washed up and get him like really, really comfortable and everything. Why don't you guys go head up to mom's apartment and hang out and then um, you know, try to get some rest. Um, I'll call you guys if there's any changes. So they all went upstairs and I was in the room with him, and it was just me and him. And I started talking and I'm like washing him up, getting him in new clean pajamas and everything. Um, I wrap his rosary in his hand, I like kiss him on the forehead. I'm talking to him, I crack the window open, and I literally told him, It's okay. Your family is gonna be fine. It is okay for you to go be with, you know, your sister, like her name, because I know that he had been talking to her. And um I went out of the room, I left him by himself, and within the hour, the daughter had come downstairs and she comes out and she was like, I think my dad's gone. And I go in and I listen and he had passed. And um, she's like, Oh my gosh, like I feel so bad we weren't with him. You know, and I told her, I said, It's okay. I said, you know, he went to be with, you know, and I said the sister's name. And she was like, Oh my god, you're so right. Like, I didn't even think about that. I realized like two days ago that this was her room when she was here, like, how wild is that? Um, and she was telling me, she was like, before he fell into that like completely unresponsive state, like all he talked about was seeing his sister and being with her and and him seeing her and talking to her. So, you know, it's like that that connection between the siblings, and yeah, it's ironic that they were in the same room, but I'm like, how weird is that that like she greeted him and she brought him there and you know, did all of the things. And I swear there's some sort of like powers that be that kind of like brought that energy out, and you know, that was like his entire transition was just him going to be with his sister, who he was very close with.

SPEAKER_02

So when I think about stories like that, I can't help but wonder when you see the kind of decline, and then you have that surge, which we've all heard about towards the end. Um, and then there's also like the kind of seemingly hallucinatory or like actual visitation. Do you ever wonder like why are they the only ones to experience it? I know I'm getting like too philosophical, probably, but I guess you'll see where I'm going with it in a second. But like, yeah, it seems like uh only they are allowed to see the visitation of the being or the loved one who's passed on, who's guiding them to the other side. And uh I guess so. The reason I bring that up is because have you ever had a moment when you're in the room with um one of your patients who who you feel or you know is gonna be going soon, or talking like that, you actually see kind of some physical manifestation of or something, you know, weird, like lights flickering or any actual thing that you're experiencing as well, or has it always been kind of like a literal veil between you and you're kind of just seeing their reaction to what they're experiencing on the paranormal side?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, for sure. Um, so I kind of feel like it goes both ways, and I think it just depends on you know the person. Like it depends on I think what their what their soul needs in that moment, right? Um, you know, I I believe that you know residual energy exists, and that's part of explaining away, you know, some of the encounters and the things that you know people experience who may not be, you know, at that point and and be close to you know their last moments. But I also, you know, I I wholeheartedly believe that, you know, some of these experiences, like, you know, with each person, right? I think we all have something that kind of like we're hoping for when that day comes, right? Like, is there more? Right. None of us wanna face the fact that one day we're gonna close our eyes and that's just it, right? Um, so I think that like holding on to there's something else, you know, we're gonna see our loved ones again. Um, so I kind of feel like it just depends on like what you need as a person, what your experience is gonna be. I I've had lots of people pass and never mention, you know, the hallucinations or having seen someone or seeing a loved one. Um, you know, probably just as many who I have seen, you know, have those experiences. Um, and in terms of like, have I ever witnessed some sort of like a physical manifestation during those times? Um, we actually had someone, um, this wasn't even that long ago. This is a different facility. Um, and the radio in his room would just like static as he was actively passing away. And we're like, what is wrong with this radio? And it wasn't like an old school, like, you know, antenna frequency radio thing. It was like a newer model. So we're like, why is this radio like all static every time that like we're coming in here and we're trying to like get vital signs on him and check him out as we're monitoring how close he is. So I feel like that's probably like the one that stands out to me the most in terms of having some sort of a physical manifestation. Um, but yeah, like I just I really think that it's it's dependent upon what that person needs in their transition. Um and I also think too, like they're just so close, you know, like they're so close to the afterlife that that they get to experience and see that so much more than the average person. I do believe that, you know, there are people out here um who kind of again, like I refer to myself as a magnet because I feel like I'm like ghosts, spirits, energies, whatever are just drawn to me. And it's not just in the paranormal sense, like I'm someone that I'm not a people person, believe it or not. Like I will talk for hours when I'm having a good conversation. But generally speaking, like I don't like being touched or hugged or things like that. But I find that people just cling to me, right? Like there's just some sort of an energy. I guess my energy just gives off like, hi, come talk to me or hey, come interact with me. And that's not really what I like. Um, so it's it's it's kind of interesting because I feel like they're so close to that point, right? Um, when they're when they're near the experiencing the death and the dying process. But I also feel like there are people out there that are susceptible to it. I think children are super susceptible to having experiences because they're young. So again, they're closer to that that end, you know, or like that beginning, shall I say, like that that point in time where they're closer and that veil is thinner, right? Um, so it's a very that's like a really good question. Um, and like psychologically speaking too, it almost makes you wonder like, are we seeing these things or are is our mind basically making these things up? And I've asked myself that several times. I'm like, am I just crazy? Like, am I just making things up or am I making like am I finding things because I'm looking for them? Right. Then I have experiences. That I'm like, there's no way. Like, I was not looking for something in this moment, and this is what happened, right?

SPEAKER_02

There's just no way that there's not something metaphysical going on. It doesn't have to be black or and white or on or off when it comes to that. It doesn't have to be like, oh, you're someone's purely hallucinating and it's all in their mind, and their mind is doing some weird thing that is like a dream state puke state thing, or it's actually happening. It's it's like it's not necessarily one or the other. I think it could be there's probably some weird, unexplainable or nearly unexplainable scientific dynamic that we just don't have terms for yet. And I think we're kind of getting into that with like studying um metaphysics and particle physics and all that stuff. So maybe someday we'll have a better understanding. But as for now, it's just like we we're just basically grasping, we're just rubbing the veil, so to speak. But before I flip it back over to Chris, I had something pop in my head, Chris. I think you're gonna see in a second. Um, we had somebody come on, and I don't remember who it is. You probably remember, but I don't. Uh there was somebody talking about seeing a loved one or someone was seeing a black dog in the room with them as they were dying, and they're like they wanted to go to that. That was Becca, and then the nurse.

SPEAKER_04

So she's actually coming back next week, too. So oh, sweet. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So have you okay, so Angela, you're like nursing, healthcare, all that stuff. Like, have you ever heard the story of seeing a black dog when you're dying and like don't go towards it's okay if you haven't, but I just had to bring that up because you're probably the best person we ever had to ask this.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Uh-oh.

SPEAKER_02

I see the slow smile. Here we go.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so um the the the black dog theory, um, that one's interesting because I've had many people swear up and down, and I see it a lot in dementia residents, believe it or not, even if they're not close to like dying if they're not on hospice. But I see a lot of dementia residents where like they swear up and down that there's this black dog in their room. Somebody needs to come and get this dog. This dog is in my room. I don't have a dog. Whose dog is this? Right. And it's it's crazy because I've wondered how like so many residents in different buildings, patients and hospitals, all these different places that I've worked, I guarantee you, out of all of the places that I've worked, there's at least one person who has a dog in their room at some point. And it's either dementia or it's somebody on hospice. Those are like the two things. The other thing that I I see very common amongst dementia and hospice patients are um, they see a nun, which is kind of creepy. I'm not gonna lie. Um, or they see like a shadow figure of some sort, right? Like I'm sure you guys are like familiar with like the hat man.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So like um I we had we had a hat man kind of figure. Uh we always called him the shadow man. I don't think it was like the traditional hat man that everybody else sees. But we had a we had a shadow figure at that nursing facility, and everybody talked about him. He was on our third floor, and that was like the one entity that every single person experienced. Like I have experiences, um, other nurses, other caregivers that worked there, like they all have unique experiences and stories that they could tell you that that they dealt with. But every single person that worked night shift in that building at some point or another experienced the shadow man on the third floor. And the shadow man is actually both of my kids, that's their favorite story. That like, if I ever get into a conversation with people about paranormal, both my kids are like, tell them about the the the shadow man, tell them about the shadow man on third floor. Um, and and I feel like that was an entity that kind of like evaded me for the longest time. Like I'd worked there for a really long time, and everybody was talking about this shadow figure. And I'm like, guys, like I don't know what you're talking about. I work third floor all the time. I've never seen a shadow figure. And it I started to kind of feel offended. I'm like, does he not like me? Like, what did I do? Did I do something? Like, is there something wrong? Because everybody, every other entity or thing seems to bring itself and make it known to me, but like, why not him? And um, I got so excited when I finally did experience it.

SPEAKER_05

It's like, oh my god, it's a gentleman.

SPEAKER_01

Like it, I like I almost fangirled a little bit. All my co-workers, everybody thought that I was nuts because that figure scared the life out of so many people. Like, he was the reason that a lot of people hated working on the third floor because once they saw him, it just freaked them out so bad. I guess just because like that solid black figure just automatically makes everybody think like dark, negative, spooky.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, I didn't get that feeling though. Um, and I don't know if it's just because I anticipated it and like I wanted it so bad for so long, or if it truly was like, you know, because I feel like I can read and risk and receive energy very well. Like I just did not get that type of vibe. Um, but I was not even working on that floor that night. Um, I grabbed something off the fax machine and I saw that it was for one of the third floor residents. So I was like, you know what? I'll take this up to my girl Brandy, who's who's upstairs working. And um, on our third floor, in the particular hallway where like he was known to be seen, it was always all the way at the end of the hallway. And people would see him like kind of glide and or walk across the hall, like all the way on the end and just disappear. Brandy was working, and oh my god, I love her to death. So, like if she sees this, hey B, love you. She was sitting in the the nurse's station, which was legitimately a closet, like it was a closet with a table, a laptop, a med cart, and cabinets behind you. I just was leaning up against the doorway. I'm like, oh hey, I got this fax for you. And like I'm leaning there and I'm talking. So like I'm um, my body is facing like down the hallway, and I'm just leaning like this, like at the doorway. And I'm talking to her, and I caught movement out of the corner of my eye. So instinctly, if you catch movement, you look, right? So I just looked up and I just like because I saw like, and you could tell clearly a man, solid black. Um, I would say from like size up, um, he was wearing some sort of a hat, but I wouldn't say it's like the big like Undertaker style hat.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um like he had had a hat on his head, um, solid black figure. You could tell it was a masculine bodybuild, um, a long coat. And I wouldn't even say like a trench coat, like like the coat with like tails on it, right? And I didn't see like his feet moving like this, but like it was literally just like the torso of his body, like right, right from like the knee up, and as if he just glided very slowly across the back hallway. And she was like, What? And I was like, oh, and she was like, You just saw him, didn't you? I was like, Oh my god, Brandy, I just saw the shadow man. And immediately, like, I was like, come with me, come with me. She's like, Bitch, I'm not walking down there. You're effing crazy now. So I'm like, oh, come on. So I like basically like bully her into walking down there with me. I'm like, we have to go see if he's like all the way down the hallway because I need to know, like, is he only walking from like here to here? Is he walking the entire extent of that back hallway? Like, where is he going? What's his business? Like, I'm all up in it. And so I like convinced her to walk with me. And like we walk back there and nobody back there in the hallway. But it was it was super cool. So, yeah, like to to basically answer your question, like seeing seeing dogs, um, you know, seeing a nun, seeing these like shadow type figures are so so common amongst people close to death, people with dementia. Um, it's it's pretty wild, like how common of an occurrence that is.

SPEAKER_02

It and the last thing I want to say on that, which is absolutely nuts. I believe that it's totally possible for all these things to be 100% paranormal. But I'm just imagining someone who is purely skeptical and scientific, they would probably pick apart the shadow man, be like, oh well, you know, seeing a shadowy nondescript figure hallucinatorious, not really that interesting or that big of a deal. And then, of course, the nun thing, like, okay, well, people tend to be religious, especially in this country, like there's a lot of Catholic people, Christian or whatever, they might their brain might create you know, a nun scenario or whatever to help them calm or comforting.

SPEAKER_04

As long as I ain't the gun from the conjuring man. That shit.

SPEAKER_02

However, yeah, however, the dog. I I would venture to say that probably at least half the people in this country never had a dog growing up, or never had, you know what I mean? Like, never there's the dog is so far removed from the average experience on the whole of people. You know, just even just look at this country, not let alone the world, but the country, this country, and to also have it be a black dog. Like, come on. Yeah, if there was ever a critical node to be studied in hospice care and people seeing things at the end of life that are paranormal or weird, I would say focus on that black dog because, like you just said, there's that one woman who is seeing a black dog in a room. She's like, I don't have a dog. Uh so okay, so why is that person seeing a dog who never grew up with a dog, never had a dog, never even probably been around a black dog in years? Um, that is critically interesting to me that people are seeing a dog, and I have to like just wonder what paranormal is.

SPEAKER_01

And it also, like again, like specifically a black dog, right? Like, specific breed. Like, they're not out here saying they see a poodle, they're not saying they see a corgi room, right? We're not seeing a little ween. We're not we're not specifically seeing a big ass German shepherd, like we're specifically seeing a black dog. And and the thing is, like, for me, it's like it's the lack of descriptive, like description, right? Like, many people can identify the most common dog breeds, right? So, like whether it's a black dog, I can tell you the difference between a black lap, the difference of a black pit bull, the the difference of you know, uh a black poodle, like you can tell the difference, but there's never a specific detail other than it's a black dog. And that is because I've I've actually asked like some people, um, like my dementia residents, like, oh well, what does it look like? And they're always like, It's a black dog. Black, it's a black dog.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, is it barking?

SPEAKER_01

Is it growling? Like, just it's just the black dog, and I don't have a dog, and get this dog out of my room, and whose dog is this? Like, they're always so fixated, and it's it's but it it actually bothers them. Like, they fixate so badly when they see this black dog that I mean they're so adamant. I don't have a dog, whose dog is this? Tell somebody to come get their damn dog out of my room. Like the fact that it it riles them up, I would honestly say, like, the people who experience seeing a black dog, I feel like their reaction is so different as opposed to the people who swear that there's a nun in their room, or the people that swear they see children in their room. Or, you know, again, like the people who see a shadow figure, right? And and like you said, like you can chalk up a lot of that to like the mind developing things for comfort, or for like they're just scared, or you know, again, like you know, you can almost always like again, nine times out of ten, they have a nightlight in the room, right? Did somebody walk past the door and it was just a shadow of somebody walking past the door. Oh, good point. Things like that, you can kind of find a way to explain away. But like you can't find a random black dog just wandering through the facility. I mean, I've I did have a I did have a black cat that would wander around the facility, and it was a legitimate cat, but that was a situation she was the sweetest thing. Her name was Coco. Um, and I loved her owner so much. But um, you know, that situation was like um the scenario where like he would like come in and out of his room and like he he was in a wheelchair, so like he would forget to close the door, like the door would be open, and the cat would like slip out, and then like here comes Coco wandering up the damn hall. And I'm like, Coco, what are you doing? You know, but like that was a real cat, right? And like she would go into people's rooms, and other residents knew her. So like I would get phone calls and they're like, Um, Coco's over here at my door, and I'm like, Oh shit.

SPEAKER_05

Like, you've got to be the cat here.

SPEAKER_01

We knew that that was a physical cat. But like, I very, very rare that I've actually had like a black dog in the facility that we could explain this away. Like, I've had maybe a handful of people that actually did have pets, but like their dogs were always accounted for. They were independent residents, they were able to take care of their dog, they weren't letting the dog out. The dog wasn't breaking down people's doors and getting in bed with people, you know. Um, so but like the dog thing like really roused them up. And I also look at the generation too, because um, you know, I feel like a lot of the people that I've cared for over the years, their generation, they weren't as like big of animal lovers as like people are today, right? True. So like seeing a random dog in your room, like I don't want this damn thing, get it out of here. Like it that they were not like, oh puppy, like um, you know, so so I kind of feel like that I I agree with you. Like, I think that's something that like if they're gonna look, if if we're gonna study something specifically, like let's study this theory and figure out what is this black dog entity that people say, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Right.

SPEAKER_02

By the way, throw shit on people who uh are cat owners, or I don't have any problem with cats, but one of my favorite gags is like walking into an old folks, I forget what movie it was, but like walking into the room and the cat is like sucking the soul out of the person. Oh my god, and then the cat just like, oh sorry, and then just like licking its paw, it's like oh whatever, we're playing around.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know what movie that is, but I feel like that's gonna be a hilarious, like hilarious, and as a as a cat, I would find so much humor in that just playing with the ball, right?

SPEAKER_04

Don't mind me. Like when you said you were excited to see the the shadow man or the hat man, it just reminded me of this like one clip I saw from this movie. It's supposed to, I think it's supposed to be like Dungeons and Dragons or something like that. It was like kind of a comedy, and the kid's mom is like facing off against this like minute centaur type of demon, and she's like talking to it.

SPEAKER_03

So I was like, Are you Ireland or do you really want to be a demon? Or are you really mean?

SPEAKER_04

And he's like, Well, you know, maybe I'm a little bit misunderstood. I actually like having tea parties.

SPEAKER_01

That was like that for that moment, and it was again like in the moment, like I said, I kind of fangirled, but like the more that I look back on that, the more I'm like, Oh my god, you dumbass. Like, the way in which I reacted to that, like, if that entity was demonic, you would have scared it. Either I would have scared it, or I'm like the easiest target for fucking possession. Like it's like, oh, this bitch likes me. Okay, let me in.

SPEAKER_02

Follow you right home.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no, literally. Um, and and I can say I feel like I've been very lucky because I don't feel that I've ever had something follow me home. But I also like I I'm much, very much into spiritual witchy woo-woo type thing. So, like, I I've done things to kind of ward off negative energy. Um, I'm very particular about um certain things. I actually have a very good friend right now who thinks she's experiencing an entity in her house that's bothering her children. And she's like, Can you please come help me like cleanse this house? And I've like gathered materials and things like that. And I've done this a few times for people, and I always make sure that I've got like black obsidian, you know, uh different, you know, types of crystals and and such. Um, I do have holy water, even though I'm not highly religious, but like I I do things and I take precautions, you know, to in in that spiritual sense to kind of cover the bases. Um and I started doing that, you know, um, when I I started to realize that look okay, hold on.

SPEAKER_02

Yep. She's got more than the extra large one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Um, this is the nature spring water, which has been blessed by an area minister and Reiki master. This was um, I bought this in Gettysburg. Fun. I actually went ghost hunting in Gettysburg.

SPEAKER_03

Oh no shit.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, here we go. Here we go.

SPEAKER_01

So I I took my boyfriend ghost hunting.

SPEAKER_04

Oh the laugh sound makes it sound like he was terrified.

SPEAKER_01

Oh no, like he was he was super into it. Just a little bit of backstory. Um, he and I have known each other since high school. You know, years later, we kind of like rekindled things. Um, you know, so Zach and I, we've been together now for six-ish years, maybe. We don't really keep track. Um, but like the first year that we were we were seeing each other, it was his very first birthday, like when we started seeing each other. And I'm like, oh, like what do you want to do for your birthday? And he's like, Oh, I don't know. I was like, Well, you want to like do a trip or something? He's like, I don't care. So I decided to take it upon myself. I'm like, you know what? Like, he and I watch like ghost adventures and kind of like laugh at like Zach Beggins being like an asshole. I don't know how you guys feel about it, but like Zach Thank you. Like, yeah, I don't know how you guys like feel about that. So, like, sorry if that offends anyone, but um like Zach always being like, I feel something, and it's like Eric, you're going in you're going in the basement where the demons are supposed to be all by yourself, and they like that poor guy. That poor man.

SPEAKER_02

Um really quickly, by the way. I think my theory about that Chris was the demon house or whatever we watched, the demon house, and we like oh, we watched a documentary and ripped that shit. The documentary is oh yeah, okay. So, my just real quick, my theory is that at the end when he was like, what was it? He had like some kind of eye issue or something. He like they had the demon thing in the basement, and then he developed this eye thing. My theory is that like he got the the um the uh what's it called? Uh no, the studio, yeah. He got the diagnosis, and then he got the studio to write off on the show or the the documentary, and then he knew he had that diagnosis, and then he claimed the insurance at the end, blinded by ghosts. I love and then they had to pay for it. They had to pay for it.

SPEAKER_01

Love that that is your theory. Um, and and I say that because like we we had spent so like that was kind of our thing. Like, whenever I was like spending the night before we lived together, um, like you know, I would spend the night at his house or like he would come here, and like our thing before we would fall asleep would be to just like throw on ghost adventures and just like laugh about the dumb shit. Um I have two favorite episodes of of ghost adventures that like I put on sometimes just because I need like humor. And um the one episode is I forget where they were, they were like, they were investigating, I think it was a prison or like a bar. And um they're interviewing the one lady and she's like telling them that like this like go this like ghost like poked her in the butt and Zach's like, Oh, you need like a goose, and like we crack up every time. Um, and I'm like, oh my god, like in that terminology, like I thought that I was the only person that ever like referred to that as like being goosed, and that's because my dad and all his friends like used to say that shit, like when I was growing up. So, like it's like a family like comedy piece for us, and like we don't hear other people saying that, so it's hilarious. And then the other one is when they had poor post Malono in there, they were at like some like abandoned slaughterhouse or something, and they had the spirit box out, and Zach is like, So what do you guys think of my buddy Posti here? And like the ghost box just says dirty.

SPEAKER_04

Oh damn. Oh, speaking of ghosts, this my dude got booted. Oh he's in Hawaii, by the way, so I don't feel bad for him. He lives in Hawaii, so he you hear that, but she said it, dude. I didn't I didn't say it.

SPEAKER_01

No, I'm kidding. I'm too much of a puss to like get on a plane and fly over water, so it's not happening.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I don't like it either.

SPEAKER_01

I don't like flying in general. Um, but yeah, like so. That's yeah, those are like my two favorite ghost uh ghost adventures episodes.

SPEAKER_04

The one that I like was when Nick was still with them, and I don't know if it was an asylum or something, but like the camera, like everything froze, and like Nick Nick's face is like yes, that I can't remember what episode that was. That there were some episodes that were real, like legit.

SPEAKER_01

It's and it's a shame because I feel like it's been so like dramatized over the years, and like the way that like Zach's reactions are with everything, like it's insane to me because I feel like they have had some like good episodes and some good moments, and they've captured some like interesting pieces that are like, okay, like this is this is kind of legit, right? But like again, just to like I don't I I'm somebody that I feel like I'm very respectful of of paranormal energy. So like I I'm like, I'm sorry, but like Zach Daggins is a dick. Like, I don't I don't like the way that he like antagonizes spirits. Like, dude, what are you doing? Why are you doing this? Like, like how has he not been like possessed and like dragged to hell? I don't know, but whatever. Um

SPEAKER_04

Some of the ailments he had, like some of the issues that has happened to him, yeah, can be directly attributed to that because he's and I'm sure.

SPEAKER_01

I'm sure um, but yeah, so the whole point of bringing up ghost adventures and and shit talking was that was like kind of like mine and and Zach's like nightly thing. So um I actually took him to Gettysburg. Um I planned like a whole surprise, like little like weekend trip for his birthday, and um I booked us a paranormal investigation, which was actually a really fun experience. Um, we ended up actually getting a DVD of like our ghost hunt. I've never watched it. I've never watched it. I don't want to see myself on camera. Um it's it's just not not something that I enjoy. But um we we had a really good time. Um, they took us to we did two different locations. The first location was an actual murder house where a murder took place.

SPEAKER_05

Um where was that?

SPEAKER_01

Um, I forget the name of that, but it's it's in Gettysburg. We did like the murder house and the reports of things, like they kind of give you a little bit of the backstory. And there's like the ghost of a woman that they believe is the woman that was actually murdered in that house. The there's like a ghost of a little boy, and they don't really know like the origin of him. There's also like a soldier of of some sort um that people have experienced. And Zach and I were in a room. I had brought a pen a pendulum with me, and I was like just trying to do like pendulum questions and just see if I could get any responses. And I got touched.

SPEAKER_05

Like I actually thank you.

SPEAKER_01

I actually physically like, and it was like like a pet. Like somebody petted me, like from the back of my head down to my shoulder. Zach watched the video. I didn't watch it, but he was like, Yeah, he was like in the video, like I'm literally holding the pen the pendulum and I'm asking a question. Like, is there anybody here? Is there someone here with us? Like, would you like to talk to us? And literally, I like turn, like you see, like that like jolting reaction because I'm like, Did somebody just come up in the room behind me? Like, I didn't hear anything. The spirit of the little boy seemed to really like Zach. We were like asking questions like on the spirit box and and stuff like that. We got several responses from that. He wouldn't answer if I was like talking. Like, I got nothing when I was asking questions through the spirit box. But whenever Zach would ask a question, we would get a response. So that was a super fun experience. The other place that they took us to, it was like an old farmhouse that was set up to be like a field hospital during the Civil War. Um, and they had like a bunch of like children's toys, like in the upstairs attic. And we all, like the whole group of us, sat like super still. And we brought out a bunch of the toys, and um like some of the toys like would go off, like the electronic toys would go off, like nobody was touching them. I can completely verify not a soul in there was touching them. And then we actually um had the instance where we were all walking out of the room, and the people that were guiding us were already outside, and as we're all walking out, like there was a ball that rolled from like the back corner of the room all the way to like where the doorway was and just stopped, like in the middle of the doorway.

SPEAKER_04

When I see the things like, oh, like go on a ghost hunt in Gettysburg, I'm thinking they're like taking you to some spots, just telling you backstory. No, if you're lucky, maybe you can snap a picture, but nah, I didn't I didn't know it was that yeah, interactive.

SPEAKER_01

It's pretty intense. I've done some fun trips though. Um, we actually went um we I go to Salem, Massachusetts. Like I try to go back, I try to go every year. Um, I highly recommend it, but I do not recommend it in the month of October because it just fucking sucks. Like tourists too many people, tourists are a nightmare. Like, I'm a tourist, but I'm not an asshole tourist.

SPEAKER_05

Um, right.

SPEAKER_01

So, like, you know, but I go there because I genuinely like I love the city. Like my retirement dream is to have enough money to retire to Salem, open a little witchy shop, do like tarot card readings, and live in like a super cool, like New England style home, right? Um, but we um we went last year, two years ago. Um, it was myself, um, Zach, his brother, and his brother's now fiance, then girlfriend. And um, we did like just a walking tour, and you know, they tell you all the ghost stories and stuff, and they encourage you to take pictures, and we had such a good time. And um, we actually have two very interesting pictures from that night. So the first picture that we have is outside of the ropes mansion. Um, we were out there and the guide was telling us um, like the tour was over, and we were just in conversation about some experiences that we had. And the guide was telling us about um when his father had passed away. Um, it was like a rainy day um at the day of the funeral, and they were at this, you know, the funeral home kind of overlooked water, and he just needed a breather. So he stepped away. And when he stepped away, he was outside, like at the balcony area, and he looked out over the water, and then all of a sudden, he, as he looked out, he saw what looked like a golden staircase like in the sky. And he felt like that was a sign from his father, right? In that moment, he right before he told us that story, I took some pictures because I was trying to get pictures of like the windows at the ropes mansion. And I took a couple pictures and then I legitimately put my phone away, put it in my pocket, and then we walked out into like the back garden area, and there's a bench back there that there have been several images of of a ghostly figure caught in in pictures that people have taken. Um, if someone's sitting on the bench, there's like a random person that'll show up sitting on the bench next to them or standing behind them, right? So, like I have like I volunteered Zach and his brother for a tribute, and I'm like, go sit on the bench and I'll take pictures. So I'm like taking pictures. And then um, as we were um finishing up the tour, you know, we said thanks and everything to the tour guide. And um I we get in the car, and as I'm scrolling back through the pictures, I found like it's actually time stamped on my phone, so it's pretty crazy. Where I took the last picture of the outside of the front of the house. And then the next picture that I physically took on my phone was when we were out back and it was a picture of the guys on the bench. There was a random picture in between the two, and I fucking kid you not, it's literally looks like a golden staircase. It's crazy. I'll like I will email you like the picture. Please, it's super crazy. Like, I will send that to you. And then um, the other picture that I got on the exact same tour um was when we went past the cemetery and they were telling us kind of the stories of you know hauntings in this cemetery. And I'm literally just like holding my phone and I'm just like snapping random pictures, no flash on or anything. And again, as I'm like scrolling back through the pictures, I see this one picture and it's dark out. So like you see like these trees, and we're looking, and then all of a sudden, like I handed my phone off to my my boyfriend's brother's girlfriend, and she's like scrolling through. She said, Oh my god, what the fuck is that? Like, if you know her personality, that's exactly how she said it. And I'm like, what? And she like shows it to me, and I'm like, What do you mean? She's like, zoom in, bitch! And like I zoomed in, and it actually looks like a face peeking around the one tree. So it's really, really freaky. And there was nobody in that, like, it's literally like a locked-gated cemetery. Like, there's there's nobody in there. There was there was nobody at all like peeking around a tree. Like, people had like flashlights at one point that were in our group, and they were like trying to like shine lights over there just to like see like different things that the guy was talking about, but like nobody had a flashlight out, there was nobody over there. It was super insane. So, yeah, I got two really cool pictures from my trip to Salem. But I'm like, I've got some sort of activity here on this on these devices, like from this trip. It was pretty wild.

SPEAKER_04

I've always been fascinated with Salem and the whole witch trials. I think it was just I think it was complete, obviously, it was complete bullshit.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I mean, yeah, like when you like hear the legit history, like you just be like, I don't like her, she's a witch.

SPEAKER_04

And like they would kill you.

SPEAKER_01

And like their methods of determining a witch is like, what is wrong with you people? I know the history very well, you know. Like I've done all the research. Um, like I said, it's Salem holds a special place in my heart, and and I just love it so much. One of the jobs that I worked at previously, um, it was a company that had services for intellectual disabilities. Part of the training they put us through was like this like diversity and inclusion training. And again, kind of an asshole, but like if you're gonna be given out information, like make sure that you're giving out accurate information. So they put me through this like eight-hour long training. It's like eight hours on a freaking Zoom call of some guy with just massive diarrhea of the mouth of like stuff that I'm like, I know how to, I trust me, I've been a nurse long enough. I understand diversity and inclusion very well. I'm from a very diverse area. Like, I I don't need, I don't need to hear this. I could be doing a thousand other things better with my time. Not trying to sound like an ass, but it's the truth, right? And um, as we're in there, he's like talking about how like people with intellectual disabilities were confined to asylums back in the day. True. Okay, get it. You know, these are people that were thought to be evil and and this and that back in the day. Okay, yeah, I I can get that because there were some pretty, pretty gnarly thought, you know, behind things back then. But then he like goes on this spiel and he like makes the comment that like the individuals that we support, if if this were 1600s in Salem, Massachusetts, they would have been burned at the stake. So I'm like, unmute. I'm like, um, excuse me, excuse me. He's like, oh yeah, do you have a question? I said, no, I don't have a question, I have a comment. Um, I said, are you aware that there was not a single person burned at the stake in Salem, Massachusetts in 19 or in 16 uh 1692? And he was like, uh uh. I was like, they weren't, there was nobody burned at the stake. No, there was one person that was stoned and the rest of them were hanged. And there were 19 exact, thank you. Like just in front of everybody, and he's like, Oh, okay, well, on that note, guys, we're gonna take a 15-minute break. I'm like, Yeah, I bet we are.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, dumbass.

SPEAKER_01

Needless to say, I did not get invited to like any corporate Zoom trainings andor meetings after that.
