Crypto is Over-hyped
Is Crypto is over-hyped?
Yes. It’s just a ledger that’s distributed to lots of other users and essentially password protected. But a ledger is nothing new - you can find them chiseled onto stone tablets going back millennia.
What’s more, at least bitcoin is all public so you don’t even get true privacy from it.
But cryptography makes it secure! Maybe for now…until it’s not. Remember the Titanic was billed as being “unsinkable”. The bottom line is that if man made it, than man can break it and crypto is no different.
And remember, crypto requires hardware and software to use — passwords, internet connections (preferably secure ones), brokerage accounts, computers are all necessary to some degree to use crypto.
Compare that to gold or silver and the difference is immediately obvious. Since the dawn of time no additional technology is required to use the money - its “operating system” is built in.
So which do you think is worth more? Crypto or Precious metal?
