S4 Ep 9: ‘Plastic-Free Periods: Health, Cotton, and Change’ featuring Dr Nuthana

IHCAN magazine Season 4 Episode 9

Dr Nuthana is a Public Health Doctor and ambassador for Natracare, who produce tampons, pads, liners and wipes made of unbleached, unperfumed organic cotton, and which are all plastic-free. Dr Nuthana explains why this is so important for the health of the individual, of the (mostly women) cotton farm workers, and of the planet. And we discuss how to challenge and change the dominance of products containing plastic and toxic chemicals. For Dr Nuthana, it largely comes down to having more conversations, and asking for what we want. So let’s all talk more about periods, about incontinence, and about what we want and don’t want in our intimate areas.
