Christine Bailey is a well respected Registered Nutritionist with training in both Sports Nutrition and Breathwork, and so brings a breadth of expertise to this episode’s topic: Metabolic Health in Menopause. Christine takes us on a deep dive through oestrogen receptors, adipose distribution, insulin pathways and mitochondrial function, leading us through a biochemical landscape in a way that helps to make sense of menopause. And then talks us through the foundations of support, and some of the studies that back them up. Christine sees exercise and nutrition and inseparable here, and answers questions about what sort of exercise to do, how much protein to eat and when, and what else is important to include in the diet. Sprinkled with supplement pearls: which supplements of those blaring out from social media are actually worth paying attention to (once the foundations are in place), and why.
