The wise choice in a spouse
“A Proverbs-Driven Life embraces marriage as the most significant of relationships and guards it jealously.”
“For whoever finds me (wisdom) finds life and obtains favor from the Lord,”Proverbs 8:35, ESV
“Without going into an elaborate commentary on this passage, let me just note that Proverbs 31 is not a universal checklist or standard for godliness in women, something you either attain to or you don’t. Rather, what we find in these verses are the kinds of things that women with godly character will do. These are some of the general areas they will focus on, seeking to live wisely by being productive, responsible stewards of their time, talents, and opportunities. For purposes of this chapter, however, I want to emphasize the question in verse 10 that leads into this remarkable description: “A wife of noble character who can find?” Two clear points flow from this question. First,
such women are not easy to find, for they are rare. Second, their core attribute can be summed up in two words: noble character. Not every mature, godly woman will run a small business or be an excellent seamstress. That kind of specificity is not the point of Proverbs 31:10–22. But we can say with certainty that every such “woman will possess
noble character.”
“Proverbs 31 has undoubtedly led more than one woman to wish the book was a chapter or so longer. Maybe if there
were a Proverbs 32, men would have a parallel description of what it means for them to have noble character. But in
fact, such a description of the ideal husband already exists, and it is easily as challenging as anything found in Proverbs 31.When the apostle Paul writes, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her,” (Ephesians 5:25), he is pointing husbands—and future husbands—to the ultimate ideal of noble character, the only perfect person, male or female, who has ever lived. To follow up on that command, men don’t have half a chapter of Proverbs to consult. They have at a minimum a set of four books” “So whether you are a woman seeking a future husband, or a man seeking a future wife, the same two-word summation serves as a sound, basic marker. While you can’t know exactly how someone may grow and develop during the next ten, twenty, or fifty years, there is one thing to look for now that promises to be of great value in the future.

Noble character.” “In Search of Noble Character”
“An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who brings shame is like rottenness in his bones.” Proverbs
12:4, ESV

“The consequences of choosing wisely are clear. A man who chooses a noble wife finds a crown for his own head. He finds a woman who builds him up and does not tear him down. He finds aid and support in his calling to lead. He finds respect both privately and publicly.”

1.Seek Christ:
“House and wealth are inherited from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord.” Proverbs 19:14, ESV “Before we ever seek a spouse, we must first seek Christ. While sound human evaluation of a pote
