SPEAKER_00:

So we're in a series right now, um, House for Revival, and this series is about faith. It's about believing for the miraculous. So you know now or you've known what we're believing for as a church, and I I want to challenge you this morning to think about what are you believing God for in your own life? What miracle are you believing for? Where is your expectation for God to do miracles in your world? Because he is the God of miracles. We sung it this morning, right? Uh so this morning I'm gonna read about a miracle story. Are we gonna go to Luke chapter five? Luke chapter five, if you've got your Bible. I have my actual Bible here today. I was thinking I just always will bring a Bible, but I might have to bring three or four for the different versions that I preach on. Then I'd have to flip through them all. It just could get a bit much. But I've got some of it in this version, so I'll start here. Luke chapter five. I'm gonna read from verse one. It says, So it was as the multitude pressed about him to hear the word of God, that he stood by the lake of Gennesaret and saw two boats standing by the lake. But the fishermen had gone from them and were washing their nets. Then he got into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and he asked him to put out a little from the shore. And he sat down and he taught the multitudes from the boat. And when he had stopped speaking, he said to Simon, Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch. But Simon answered and said to him, Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing. Nevertheless, at your word I will let down the net. And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. So they signalled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they had and they came and filled both the boats, so they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord. For he and all who were with him were astonished at the catch of fish which they had taken, and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, Do not be afraid, from now on you will catch men. So when they had brought their boats to the land, they forsook all and followed him. An amazing story, right? An incredible miracle that's happened. So they're out, um, they're on the boat, Jesus is teaching, and he tells Peter to go out and to cast his net. And Peter says, Well, I've already done that, but if you say do it again, then I will. And so he obeys the word of the Lord and he sees this incredible miracle of provision. And this morning I want to focus on this story because this is an act that Jesus has done. And when Jesus does something, it means something. Jesus doesn't do things in the Bible for no real purpose. We every single story, everything that he did, he only did because God told him and to display himself to us, to display his miracle working power to us. And so I want to pick up the story where basically we understand Jesus is preaching from the boat, and then he says to Peter, Well, let's go out and cast your net again. And Peter turns to Jesus and he says, We've toiled all night and caught nothing. And you know, this I feel is the moment where a lot of us would stop the story. Where Jesus comes and says, Hey, you know, um, I need you to go and do something. And our response is what I would call a little bit of realism. You know, I used to say this about myself. I'm a realist, you know, and I think I I as I read this story, I had to start to question the tension between being a realist and being a faith person because we don't want to never be realistic about anything, but we don't want our realism to block our faith. And so Peter's not saying, you know, yeah, we haven't fished in a while, maybe we should. He's saying we've been out all night. Peter understands how fishing works. When the fish aren't on, they're not on. And now I don't fish, okay? But I did fish this one time. I did go fishing this one time. This was just this is my experience fishing, okay. Adam and I, we went out on our jet ski. We went out, um, uh, I think it was our Fakatane, wasn't it? Went out, you know, the opening of where you go. So we went through. I don't know what it's technically called, but we went through. We're out there, we're on our jet ski, we're fishing. Not much is happening. Maybe 15 minutes goes by, and there's a guy next to us on a kayak, and he pulls up. I can see him, he pulls up a snapper. And we're like, oh, great. This must be fish over there. So we cruise over there near to this guy, and we've got this thing called a um slider. Yes, it's called a slider, and it's like this slippery thing, it goes up and down. Anyway, we put that in, okay? We cast that in, and then I'm on, snapper. I bring it up, I pass the rod to Adam. This he can deal with the fish. He passes me another rod, I cast another rod, I'm on again. You know, I pull the fish up. And so we just do this for like maybe an hour and a half. I'm just pulling up all these fish. Oh, babe, look, another one. I pass him the rod, I get the rod that he's just, you know, sorted out for me again, and we just did that, and we caught so many fish. So we're out on a holiday, just Adam and I, we filled, we bagged out. I ended up catching a 22-pound snapper. I did. I'm sure it was that was 22 pounds. He's saying it was 12. I don't know what he's talking about. It was huge, it was just huge. I was holding it, it was incredible. Um, so we just had this phenomenal like fishing trip. There's all these workups, so we're like, let's go over to that workup, we're casting lures in there, there's these kawa jumping out. It was just great. Really, the only time I've ever spent fishing, it was awesome. I don't plan on going again. I think I'll end it there. Just like crushed it. Don't need a fish anymore. Um, but you know, fishermen understand fishing. So from what I'm told, that's not normal, that's not how it is, but it feels like that's how exactly how it is. Um but you know, fishermen tend to know fishing, right? And so the the saddest thing is when you spend half a day by yourself without your husband, he goes fishing, half a day to a day, right? They're like, we'll be back at 12, they're back at four, like whatever, no one's counting. And when they come back, when they come back with no fish, you know, like I feel like the sacrifice was for nothing. Um, but they'll say, like, yeah, the fish just weren't on today. This is how it all works. And and they know, I don't know, but they claim to know that's how it works. So this is kind of what Peter's saying. He's like, Jesus, we did this all night already. You know, like we all night we already fished. Like if they weren't on then, they're not gonna be on now. Like the sun's up, we've gone through the peak time and the bite time and all of that. Um, but then he actually turns around and he says, but at your word, we'll do it. Right? But I think some of us we get stuck at the we have toiled all night and caught nothing part. We're living in that part. We're like, yeah, I know, Jesus, that you can do miracles, and yes, I believe for that, but also this is what I've already prayed for and haven't seen it happen. Or this is all, you know, this is the sickness that runs in my family, and so far nobody's been healed. Like, but this is kind of where it's at, Jesus, full stop. That's where we end the sentence. And you know, it says in Hebrews 11:1, we know this verse. Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. And then verse 2 actually says, For by it the elders obtained a good testimony. You know, it's through faith that we get a good testimony. It's through believing for something that we haven't seen. If we've seen it and it's all like it's realistic, if if we rely on our realism, it's no longer accredited to us as a good testimony. That's just life. But faith is actually where realism tells me it can't be done, but I'm gonna believe that it can be done because the word of God says it. That's actually what we need to go after. And I fear this morning some of us, although we may have faith for some things, there are particular things in our life that we've simply stepped back and said to Jesus, but we've toiled all night and we've caught nothing. And that's kind of where it's ended. You know, there's people here you've been believing for a miracle home. And you're at the point now where you say, but we've toiled all night and caught nothing. Like we've believed for this for a really long time and it hasn't happened yet. And our faith has dried up, our hope has dried up. We're not, we're no longer willing to cast our net again on the other side because we're pretty sure if you look at all of it and you just kind of like, you know, we've done the hard work and it hasn't happened, and so I'm not willing to go again. You know, what's embarrassing sometimes is when you do go again and it doesn't happen. It's when you cast your net again and it comes up empty again. And so because we don't want to bring up another empty net, we just don't cast it anymore. And I want to challenge that this morning because uh what's powerful here is where Jesus, uh Peter says, but at your word. And Adam spoke about this last Sunday. It's it's this moment where I understand my reality right now, I understand my situation right now. I know I've done everything that I can for my son who's troubled, or my daughter who's troubled. I really can't do any more, but at your word. There must be something else for me, Lord. There must be something else. And you know, where it says your word, it's actually the meaning is the Rima word, the Rhema word of God. We understand there's a logos word of God, the general word of God, and then there's the Rima word, the specific spoken word of God. And this is the word that Peter was relying on. So it says in Romans 10, verse 7, that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. And what this scripture actually means is that faith comes, like it is preceded by hearing. So first you have to hear, spiritually hear, and then faith comes after that. But it comes if you look into the theology of how this sentence is framed, it actually means that it's consummated. Like faith is actually it's consummated, which means it's made complete, it's brought together by the Rema word of Jesus. And you know that word, it means that it's made complete by a spoken word from a living person. But some of us are so we're so busy listening to, I guess, what we would consider uh a word, an old word from a dead person. Like our faith doesn't even activate the word of God as though it exists right now. We treat it as though it's a past word spoken by a dead God. And if if that's how we treat it, it's no longer a Rhema word. It's not the kind of word that brings faith. So we have to understand that it's it's the Rhema word of God. It's what Jesus says in his word, but it's also what he says to me. It's what he speaks directly to me, the living word that comes from him. And so the living word that came to Peter was go and cast your net again. So Peter wasn't saying, you know, I know in scripture it tells me to cast my net again. No, it was a specific word for Peter. And this morning I want to ask us, what is the specific word for you that God is asking? What is his word to you that you need to take action in? Because it's very easy to just go through the motions of life, never hearing a Rhema word from God, never inquiring, never wondering, Lord, what should I be doing? What how do you want me to step out? What should I do next? What's the Rhema word of God for me? And you know, if we don't get a Rhema word, we don't get an opportunity for a miracle. If we don't get that Rhema word to cast our net again, we don't get to fill our boats with fish. Peter heard the spoken word of Jesus, and that's why he acted. Um, and Peter goes on. Oh no, sorry, I I want to share this. I think this is an important story. You know, when we got this building, and I know I've shared this before, but I I just feel like it's such a it's such a picture of this exact thing. When we got this building, we saw the building, and Adam heard the Lord say, This is the building you're gonna get, right? So he got a REAMA word for this building. And we went to the council and they said, You you would be so foolish to apply for a resource consent for this building. Two people before you, two churches before you have already applied for this resource consent, spent$10,000 each and been rejected. You would be so unwise to go and do that again. Like if they didn't say yes two times, they will not say yes a third time. But all we had was a Rema word. And now thinking back, it did sound a little silly, a little bit foolish. But Adam knew the Lord said this is the building. And you know, when you're a church of, you know, 50 people and we we raised all this money for the building, and the like it was this huge, like fundraising thing, and we raised$40,000, which was huge. Everybody was so poor, including us. It was just poor, we were all poor, and so forty thousand dollars was like outstanding to be able to raise that money, but to risk a quarter of it on the resource consent that might have ended in nothing was a huge risk. But we were people of faith, and Adam knew he heard the Lord. So we went to the council, we went through the process, and we know we we know how intense that can be. And all the way along, hearing you're not gonna get this, it's not gonna come through, it's not gonna come through, we just knew the Lord is gonna do this miracle for us, and he did. Like that's the kind of shouldn't happen, crazy miracle that only a Rema word can unlock. Now, would we have gone and done that for a building had God not said that's your building? No. And you know, sometimes I think we face disappointment as Christians because we've decided it's a yes, but it's not a Rima word from God. We think, well, this would be really good for me, or I'd really like to marry this person. I think that would be great. I'd really like to live in this suburb. I'd really like to, you know, go and like live in that country. I think that would suit me really well. But is it a Rima word from God? Because the this kind of faith, this kind of miraculous thing doesn't just come through a choice you make, it comes through the word of God. It comes through the Rhema word of God to you. And so this morning, I feel like there's even some of us who've come in today who don't even have a Rhema word on your life right now. Like I don't even, you know, I'm just kind of going through the motions. I'm not really sure what God's asking of me. I'm not sure what I should be doing. I don't really have like this faith or expectation for anything. I want to challenge that today because right through the Bible, this is how we see Jesus operate. And if we don't have a word from him, we need a word. We need a word, we need instruction, we need direction. What am I believing for? What is he asking of me? And then how do I go after it by obeying his word? So Peter says that. He says, nevertheless, at your word. And then he act this is what he says, nevertheless, at your word, I will let down the net. And you know, as I read this story, I felt the Lord highlight to me, it's not nevertheless at your word, you will. It's nevertheless at your word, I will. And you know, I think it's easy for us as Christians to have the kind of faith that says, God, if you know, I believe that you're gonna do something, but actually what he's asking for is for us to do something. There's always a partnership between God and man. Peter's not saying, okay, Jesus, like you go for it, go fishing, you know, maybe get like a whole school of fish to like fly up over us and fill the boat up. No, he's saying, Peter, go and let your net down again. Go and put your net down. And Peter says, at your word, I will do that. At your word, I will go. It's the obedience of understanding I have a part to play in seeing this miracle come to pass. This is the structure of how it works in the kingdom of God. And you know, there's a story very similar to this in Mark chapter 10. We're gonna look at it, and it doesn't end great, but it's a story with a uh somebody with a very similar proposition from Jesus. And this is the rich young ruler, you may know the story. I'm gonna read from Mark chapter 10, verse 17. It says, Now as he was going out on the road, one came running, knelt before him, and asked him, Good teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? So Jesus said to him, Why do you call me good? No one is good but one that is God. You know the commandments do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not bear false witness, do not defraud, honor your father and your mother. And he answered and said to him, Teacher, all these things I have kept from my youth. So he's a very good guy. Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him and said to him, One thing you lack, go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. And come, take up the cross and follow me. But he was sad at this word and went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. And you know, there's so much in this story. And I as I've read this, I've wondered who should this guy have been in the story of Jesus. You know, we follow the disciples and they became the early church apostles, and this this young man comes to Jesus and he so wants to serve him. He says, What do I have to do? I've done all these things that I've I've lived right according to all this stuff. And it says that Jesus looked at him and he loved him. So he looked at him and he loved him, and then he asked him to pay the greatest sacrifice he could pay. What a strange reaction. He didn't look at him and love him and say, Stay comfortable, just be happy with all your possessions. I think that's really great for you. No, Jesus looks at him and loves him and says, Take everything that you have and sell it and give it to the poor. And you know what's interesting? Um, where he says, You need to sell it, sell whatever you have. When you sell something, the value of it goes down. So Jesus asked him to take everything he had, devalue it, and then give the money away. Bring it back to the perspective of what this is actually worth, not what you paid for it, not what it costs you. Devalue it and then give all of that money away to the poor. And this rich young ruler goes away very sad because he had a lot of possessions. And then Jesus looked around and he says this to his disciples. He says, How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God. He just turns around and makes a statement. They haven't asked him any questions, and this is so interesting to see their interaction. He turns around and he says, How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God. And then it says the disciples were astonished, like they were shocked. Is he saying rich people can't enter the kingdom of God? Like, what did he just say? Like this rich guy, you know, he's got too many riches on the earth, and now, you know, he can't like walk away from that and follow Jesus. So they're astonished. And then Jesus obviously notices they're astonished, and they're like, maybe it feels like they're gonna start to build some bad theology on this moment. So he speaks again, just to clarify. He then says to them, Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, who then can be saved? And Jesus looked at them and said, With men it is impossible, but not with God, for with God all things are possible. And you know, I think we often quote the end of this verse with God all things are possible, like we're like miracles, but actually it's about rich people being able to like live in a way where their possessions don't rule them. He he first he says, you know, for people who have riches, it's hard to enter the kingdom of God. And then he says it's those who trust in riches. And I want to challenge that this morning as we come up to this time of offering. This is the reality for so many people is that kind of like uh giving money away is like oh, because I I have trust in where my money is. That gives me security. Everything in this world teaches us that money gives us security, it gives us peace, it gives us stability, and it does give us those things in some ways, but the Bible's very clear we should not put our trust in riches. And you know, even at the end of one of I think it's 1 Timothy, where Paul is speaking to Timothy, he actually says to Timothy, this is how you need to teach the rich people among you. You know, Paul's written these two letters full of information on how to teach his church. Here's what you need to be aware of, Timothy. Focus on these things, make sure you live with integrity, all this instruction from like a father in the faith and a mentor. And then he signs off the letter at the end of 1 Timothy. And I I know this well because I teach it in our ministry school. He finishes off the letter, uh da da da da da da da from Paul, done. And then there's these extra three or four verses, it's like he forgot. I better talk to him about rich people. Of all the things to put in the letter. He then, at the end of the letter, at the end of his sign-off, he then says, Timothy, make sure if you have rich people that you command them to give. Make sure for the wealthy people among you that you instruct them to give so that their hope will not be in their riches, but will be in their God. And you know, I think what we love is when we as church, can I just can I just be a little bit honest? As church congregants, we read the passages in Timothy, and it's like leaders need to be like this, like this, like this. And we're like, yes, yes, yes. Integral, honest, above reproach, blameless, make sure they're a good person in the community, hospitable, knows how to teach. We agree with all of the things Paul says about a teacher. We agree with all the things Paul says about how our pastors should live. But then when Paul says, Timothy, tell the rich people to give, we're like, oh, I don't know if we need to take Paul's advice on that. I feel like my pastor should read all of 1 Timothy and then just the bottom few verses, like, that's marginal. I don't know. But that's actually the same instruction from the same man, right? That Paul is this guy, he's giving this instruction to Timothy on how to build a healthy church, how to raise strong people. And he says, make sure you instruct the rich among you to give. Make sure that they don't so focus on themselves that they can't extend their riches, that they can't allow what God has blessed them with to be a blessing to others. This is important, Timothy. And you know what I what I love about this is I I fundamentally believe that God will bless you so you can be a blessing. I believe that with all of my heart. I've seen in my own life because we've had times where we were very poor, but we've had times where we've had have had like provision so that God cannot just allow us to build ourselves but actually be a blessing to other people. And because I know that building his kingdom goes beyond what I say with my mouth and what I do with my hands, it actually extends to how I handle the provision he gives me. And I believe that wholeheartedly. And I'm so grateful we have a church who believes that. God is going to bless our church so we can bless his kingdom. And God is actually raising up incredible, wealthy people in this house and blessing the people of this house with great wealth in order to build his kingdom. Because what God is doing through our church, it's not just signs and wonders, it's actually spreading out beyond that to influence, to infrastructure, to things that go beyond just words, because we affect this nation with real things. Like Adam said in the video, it takes facilities to facilitate what God is going to do. And I wholeheartedly believe he's raising the water level of this church financially when it comes to provision to be able to be a blessing to our city and to our nation. That's how we build his kingdom. And so this rich young ruler, he just couldn't. But he was given the exact same opportunity as Peter. He had a remote word from Jesus. The word to this man was, hey, you know what? I Jesus looked at him lovingly and he said, Take everything that you have and sell it, and then give the money to the poor. That was the Rima word, and it's he turned away and he said, I can't do that. Gee, Peter said, You know, we've toiled all night, but at your word, I'll do it. The rich young ruler said, At your word, I just I can't. I can't do it. And we will never know what who this man should have been in the story. We'll never know who this rich young ruler should have been in the story of Jesus in the among the disciples. He was called to pick up his cross and come with Jesus. And and what we know is Jesus loved him, looked at him and loved him, felt love for him, but we never get to hear from him ever again. Now, I don't want to be the story of my life to be that I got a Rema word from God and I said, I can't. But at your word, I won't. Because of my own, you know, fear or because of what I need to have in order here. No, I just, you know, at your word, like I hear the word, Lord, but I just I can't do that right now. Man, I want to be Peter. Because at your word, Peter had the greatest catch of his life. You know, it wasn't just that, you know, Jesus wanted to show himself miraculous. What he did blessed Peter. What he did prospered Peter. It prospered not only Peter, but the boat next to Peter. You know, sometimes this is what the power of God in our lives looks like. It's not just my fish, my boat full of fish, it's my neighbor's boat full of fish, too. This is what it's meant to look like to follow Jesus. The provision and the miraculous, it's not actually even just for us, it's a witness, it's a testimony, and it goes so far beyond us. This is what we get to see in this story. So they have this huge catch, and their nets are actually breaking, like it's that many fish. It's not a 22-pound snapper, but it's a lot of other little fish, I assume. I don't know. Right? But their catch overflowed and it blessed the boat next to them. It just went, it went beyond them. And then Peter has this reaction. Peter has this like knee-jerk reaction to what's happening, and it says that he fell at Jesus' feet, saying, Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord. This unworthiness comes over Peter, this objection of like this is this is all too much. And you know, often this is the reaction that we have to the favor of God. This is the reaction we have to the blessing of God. Like, I just I don't feel worthy of this. Now, Jesus hadn't died yet to make Peter pure and righteous and holy. But we have been made pure and righteous and holy. And we don't ever want to be in a position where the blessing of God makes us say, I'm just, I'm not even worthy. But his blessing is so astronomical, like so wonderful. So when you realize what he's done for you, whether it's a catch a fish in the boat or just the grace of the cross, when you realize what he's done, our reaction is, oh Lord, I I just I can't believe it. He falls at his feet and he says, I'm I'm not even worthy. Depart from me, I'm a sinful man. And then everybody with him were astonished. This is verse 9 that I'm reading. James and John, the brothers, everyone around him. And then Jesus turns to Peter, to Simon, and he says, Do not be afraid. From now on, you will catch men. So this moment was significant, it was prophetic, like they did with all of these fish. Jesus is saying, now you're actually going to catch men. And I just want to invite the worship team to come up. So it goes beyond Peter's current role is to be a fisherman. And Jesus is saying, I'm gonna take you from being uh to of being fishing fish to fishing men. This is this is what he'd already said to him when we met him. When Jesus met Peter, he said, I'm gonna make you a fisher of men. And so it's coming to pass. He's now saying, Look at all this provision, look at all these fish. But now what I'm taking you to is something even greater. And you know, sometimes it's in the thing you currently do that God wants to shift you into the thing he's called you to do. He wants to come to you and say, Hey, I've created you for my purpose. Peter's purpose wasn't to be a fisherman, his purpose wasn't to catch fish, his purpose was to catch souls. And you know, some of us have spent so much of our life finding a career like fishermen that we forget that God actually has a purpose for you in his kingdom, that there's a Rhema word for you of Jesus wanting to say, I've actually designed you to do this, I've actually created you to do this. There's something that I'm asking of you, but it wasn't until Peter obeyed the Rhema word that Jesus came to him and then said, Now you're gonna catch men after his obedience, after his faithfulness. And so I love verse 11. It says, So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and they followed him, which makes no sense because when they brought their boats to land, they had the greatest catch of their lives. If anything, you think it would drive them into being fishermen, like we've just clocked fishing, we've been trying and trying and trying, and we've just had the greatest harvest of fish we've ever seen. And instead of then doubling down on their fishing careers, instead of saying, you know what, we've got this guy, Jesus. Look at the provision, we're now going to create a fishing company. We're gonna get 10 boats, we're gonna 10x this thing, right? Instead of turning and coming back to the shore and thinking, look at how much fish we now have access to. No, they forsake all of it and they follow Jesus because his provision, his blessing, his favor, his hand on your life should make you run toward him. Not the place of provision, not the place of blessing, not the place of favor, but to the one who brings it, to Jesus Himself. And I love this part of the story because when we know who Jesus really is, when we know the power that he has access to, when we understand how good he is, we can do nothing but run toward him with our lives. The fishing becomes irrelevant, and you know this is so true for people who seem to like you just you go to greater and greater places in life, and as you do that, it seems all those things are less and less important. What's important is Jesus, what's important is obeying him, what's important is being discipled and following the rabbi who can do such things, not the such things he can do. And I want to challenge us this morning that there are some people in this room that Jesus is He wants to speak to you, He wants to bring a Rhema word into your life. There are some people who came in here, and it's in general in life, you feel pretty aimless, you feel pretty lost, you're not exactly sure what God is asking of you. But can I challenge you to actually seek God for a Rima word? Because He has an opinion on what you should do with your life, He has an opinion on the next move you need to make. He has a Rhema word for you. Why don't you stand to your feet this morning? Simon's boat was two things. Before it ever caught a great harvest of fish, it was a pulpit for Jesus' ministry. Before Simon got this amazing moment of provision and this amazing miracle, first Jesus saw the boat and said, Take the boat. out a little from the shore so I can stand in it and I can preach. And it was after he finished preaching that he said, Okay, cast your net out. Go out a little deeper and cast your net on the other side. You know, sometimes it's the obedience to just being a servant of the king. It's not seeking the provision. Peter didn't wake up that day and think, we're gonna get this really good catch. I'm gonna ask Jesus to bless me. I'm gonna expect Jesus to bless me. All he did was be obedient and give what he had which was his boat. All he had access to was his boat. And Jesus said, can I use your boat for my ministry? And Peter said yes. And then it became a boat that brought provision, a boat that brought blessing. And for some of us there's something already in your hand that can be used for his kingdom. That he wants to first say to you hey will you take that talent and use it for me? Will you open your mouth? Will you use your hands? Will you use your feet? Will you use the thing that's already available to you to be able to allow me to preach my gospel? Will you use it and allow it to spread the kingdom far and wide? Will you take what you have and actually let it be a vessel an instrument for my purpose and for my kingdom before we look for it to be a blessing. Before we look for it to be a big catch. And you know every single one of us in this room today I don't know your story but I know you have hands I know you have feet I know you have a mouth I know you have a purpose I know you have spiritual gifts that God has given specifically to you for his purposes and for his kingdom. And this morning I want to awaken in your heart the purpose of God that exists inside of you. You know if you're feeling hopeless or aimless or you're feeling like I don't really know what I should do with myself do you know he has a plan for you the Bible says he has written for you all the days of your life he has a purpose for you. For some of you that's ministry for some of you that's building raising godly children for some that's business for some that's uh creating wealth to build the kingdom there's so many different ways and we function in many of them but this morning can I challenge you to ask Jesus for a Rema word if he was coming if he was standing next to you today and his word to Peter is to go out and cast your net on the other side well Jesus what's your word to me what do I need to do where do I need to go how do I need to serve because we're not just here to receive we're not just here to be the people who receive the catch. We're here to serve the king we're here to build the kingdom. So why don't you just close your eyes today I just want to pray for you and I believe that even in this moment God is going to speak to some people he's put something in front of you an opportunity a person a ministry there are things that we can step into there are ways that we can serve and I'm just reminded of our series on eternal rewards that you know this life is so short. It's so temporal and we don't want to spend it missing the purpose that God has assigned to us. So Holy Spirit I thank you for every person in this room right now why don't you just lift your hands as I pray Lord I thank you God that every single one of them has a purpose and a plan that you have written for them. And Father right now we just we just let go of all disappointment all loss of seasons past or prophetic words unanswered and and hopes and dreams that have been put off we let go of all of that right now and Father we just ask for a fresh impartation of faith today. Lord that as we believe as we know your word says that you have a purpose and a plan for every single one of us that Lord there would be a shift in the spirit right now that we would stop wandering aimlessly and start chasing after the purpose and the call you have created for us. And I pray right now over every single person that doors would open supernaturally for these purposes to come to pass. I pray right now that God there would be a shift Lord even in what's in front of us right now that a Rhima word would come a rhema word for purpose a rema word for what to pursue what to go after where to put our hands where to speak your word Lord that as we've wandered aimlessly that God there would be purpose and insight come to your children right now. That you would raise up on the inside of us God and an unction and knowing what we are called for and what we are called to do. Lord I pray right now that every voice of doubt would dissipate in Jesus' name Lord that your your spirit would come and fill us with faith afresh that God as we obey your word we expect a miraculous catch. That as we step out and we cast our net on the other side that we expect your provision and the miraculous to go alongside it. Lord we pick up the hope of every healing that we stop believing for we believe again today every prodigal we've stopped believing for we believe again today every word spoken that we've given up on we believe again today that Lord you are refilling the the well of hope and faith inside of us that Lord as we go after everything you've called us to be that it would be a Holy Spirit fire burnt on the inside of us for your purposes God and for your kingdom Lord we love you we glorify you we honor you we thank you God for everything you're doing in this house and Lord we say yes and amen to every miracle yes and amen to every word coming to be fulfilled in the name of Jesus come on let's just sing and worship him we love you we love you
