Episode 116: Manhunter (1986)

Sawyer Gann

Welcome back to Film Haven Reviews!!! This week we continue our "Mann Movies" theme with the highly underrate crime thriller Manhunter (1986)

I was absolutely blown away by how precendental and trend setting this film is. Based on the book that introduced the iconic serial killer Hannibal Lector, Manhunter lays the foundation for the massive crime thriller genre that would blow up in the 90s and early 2000s. I gave this film a 9/10 for offering a perfect 80s score, some of the best cinematography I've ever seen, and A-class acting all around. I'm so far very impressed with Michael Mann's early films.
