Chief Health Officer of Special Olympics Dimitri Christakis
Wyatt interviews Chief Health Officer of Special Olympics Dimitri Christakis. In Dimitri's early life he grew up in Greece and then moved to united states when he started school. Dmitri first experience with Special Olympics was when he was in medical school and volunteered at the Pennsylvania state games. Dimitri share how he became a pediatrician and his experiences in treating people with disability's in the health profession. Dimitri tells the story of how he met Chairman of Special Olympics Tim Shriver and how a conversation with him inspired him to get involved helping with healthy athletes. Dimitri shares what the everyday life is like in his role as a Chief Health Officer and what that all entails. Watt and Dimitri dive into all aspects of health. From mental health to physical health. Dmitri and Wyatt talk on how all it affects Special Olympics athlete's from playing sports to just living there everyday lives.
