SPEAKER_00:

Hi everyone, it's Mamie from Beheerd and how are yourself? Today we were supposed to have a conversation between myself and Erin Solis on self-publishing book structure and um AI and its wonderful way of being devious, uh lost our video. So I am going to just um recap it for you and tell you what we discussed. Then we can go on with the next chapter on chapter three, which we will be talking more about um character development and the next steps that you should take. So we discussed our um show about self-publishing, and we focused on outlining the structure of the book. And I emphasize the importance of writing down ideas and summarizing the story in a few sentences, especially for those who may not have a clear creative flow, which Erin does. Um I also uh talked about note-taking and outlining and the different ways you can do it. I extra support for um my experiences with AI tools like ChatGPT, while Erin explained her method of customizing AI to better suit her writing needs. Excuse me. You both briefly touched on the growing use of robots and AI in modern workplaces, reflecting uh Erin's novel's futuristic setting. And then Erin and I discussed the development of Erin's book, which will be published on Kindle and in print. And I advised her not fleshing out her characters and suggested using Amazon's KDP platform for creating an audiobook if she'd like. I also shared information about a free platform for finding narrators, which Erin expressed interest in exploring. And I will have that information for my listeners on our next episode. Something to look forward to. So we discuss a lot about uh how you can have a book narrated and how to do it without costing you money. There are platforms that deal in profit sharing, and um I also have information on that. Again, we will wait for that next episode. Okay. Um we talked about Aaron's book characters, including the protagonist Quinn, who is smart, but has a history of abusive relationships, and her best friend Zara, who's more callous and follows the system. I shared some personal anecdotes about um my ability to remain calm and crises, and emphasizing the importance of balancing both positive and negative qualities in your characters, encouraging Erin to develop complex characters, which she is already doing. And Erin talked about the transformations and the highlighting of growth and resilience that will come from their challenging experiences. And then we went on to outline the sequence of events and focus on essential story details and uh helping you streamline the writing process. We then discussed the structure of a podcast series, which includes chapters based on action steps and concludes with a share and surrender theme. Um, we have three related shows on our website. One is on Akashic Records and other paranormal topics, and this one, of course, on writing. And we also have one on Aaron's program called Actions, A-C-T-I-O-N-S, which I am on the letter I. So we have episodes on that. And uh this makes it interesting. You talk about different things and try to put them on separate episodes for you so you don't get overwhelmed. So we discussed um characters' journeys and how they need to um recognize their harmful patterns and the importance of making different choices to break free from energetic loops. Um, I shared my belief that I have had multiple lifetimes, and that was the way I was to learn to grow, and um I express gratitude for that. I also have five spirit guides today that protect me, and I felt them there today during a very dangerous uh traffic pattern that I had a drive-through. Um, we talked again more about the book writing part and the character development, the process of writing books, definitely focusing on the character's development and the importance of outlining and revising draft. It's okay to throw away your first, second, and even third draft. I shared my experience of rewriting my third book, Surviving the Demons, to make it more inclusive for a broader audience, including men and LGBTQ individuals. I uh had met a 16-year-old boy who had read my first book and followed me on Instagram, and I realized that uh my topics were not just for women. And we both emphasized the need for flexibility and openness to changes during the writing process, and that how that would improve the narrative and better serve the intended audience. Erin's book is definitely a dystopian type of book, and um, the female protagonist is in a dystopian setting, and she does communicate with a higher being. And her uh character, Quinn, goes through an arc of awareness, surrender, and sharing. And I suggest it that the best-selling books right now seem to be paranormal or futuristic. So this is a very good time for Erin to be making uh the break from what she usually does and writing this book. And also, um, Erin does take breaks from writing to avoid being overwhelmed, and she finds relief in walking and hiking. So I know we can go down the rabbit hole sometimes with our writing, with me sometimes as the research part of it, or setting up uh different aspects of it, like creating the cover or things like that. So it is good to walk away sometimes when you're getting overwhelmed. And then we ended up talking about more about the process of writing and self-publishing your novel. And again, the clear narrative structure and also the ease of self-publishing through Amazon's KDP program, which we are both using. Um, Erin shared her experience about a writing tool called accordion writing for organizing story ideas, which I will have her repeat on the next episode, since this episode um did not tape correctly. And while I emphasize the value of writing for personal experience and the importance of a compelling story arc, we both agreed that setting a writing schedule is a good thing. And we um also agreed on how to um draft your book and have your characters already in your head knowing where they're gonna begin and where they're gonna end. And we agreed that we would explore setting a writing schedule in the first draft process in the next episode. And also I will share those websites with you that are offering free narration services for audiobooks. Well, this was not like my normal uh podcast, but I didn't want to have to do it all over again with Erin and take all that time from her. So I gave you most of the information. I and I hope you will forgive me, even though it's really AI's fault. All right, have a good one, enjoy the rest of your day, and look for episode three, where you will hear from both of us.
